"Sounds like we do~" Kyanna giggled along with Yua, peeking at the boy and pondering for a moment, resting a finger on her lips, peeking at Yua with a mischievous smile of her own. "Hmm, alright, I won't tell for now. But I can't promise to keep it a secret forever, unless you promise to behave more!" She turned her gaze to Simon, leaning in with a small smirk.

Simon blushed slightly at the teasing of the girls, and he shook his head. "N-No, you better not tell her. I promise I won't be going around causing trouble."

Clasping her hands, Kyanna nodded satisfied. "Good, then as long as you are behaving, me and Yua aren't going to tell a thing." She said, turning to look at Yua, and offering her a smile, both for the small playful moment they had, and for the reassurement the girl gave to her regarding keeping an eye around for her.

"Perfect... Then..." Kyanna took a deep breath, closing her eyes and breathing steadily, focusing on the winds that were rustling the leaves and grass. At the singsong of the birds. At the clickings of each ant that carried a heavy leaf on their backs.

Slowly, an answer came after another, and she tried to put the pieces together.

Yua giggled quietly to herself as she watched the interaction between Kyanna and Simon before returning the girl's smile with one of her own. The witch really did seem to give off the air of an older sister. Not necessarily the cool 'I want to be you' kind, but rather that calm, sweet, caring one. The kind that Yua sometimes wished had, or was.

While the With did...whatever it was she was doing, Yua did her best to keep an eye out on their surroundings. Like any true samurai would. But she was not a samurai. Not really. No amount of reading fantasy books, stories, or playing games could truly bring the girl to that level of awareness. Things went unnoticed. Most inconsequential, but what if they weren't? What if something crept up on them? Yua tried hard to listen, but she was no samurai.

@Yua remained watchful of their surroundings, and while she couldn't listen or hear anything, she could feel a pang of unease being in the woods, even if Kyanna and Simon were there with her, with the former feeling a similar unease yet being too focused on communing with the green to give it attention, and the latter being as innocent and carefree as he was before.

Kyanna could feel a shift from the nature ahead, a moment where plants seemed to stop communing, stopped to connect with other vegetation... Yet, it didn't seem like there was an end of a forest anytime soon... And at some point, communing with this nature became impossible, even if they were surrounded by them.

"Strange..." Kyanna muttered, but continued to follow ahead.

The samurai, meanwhile, would start feeling like the group was being watched- But no matter where she looked at, or as hard as she tried to hear, nothing came out of it. There was no particular direction where this feeling tingled, which made it feel like just the mind playing tricks on oneself.

Regardless of what the truth was, it was a fact that they soon would meet a large structure in the middle of the forest, way too large to be ignored. It was imponent, like a temple with pillars and runes carved around them, more prominent on the bottom and then going all the way up to the dome it had covering all its area. Moss, roots, vines, overgrow grass and even fungi wrapped the building, showing just how abandoned it was...

... And yet, for some reason, it looked neat. As if it has never worn out.

Was it ever there? It rose above the treetops, but it wasn't part of Finweald's landscape.

Perhaps it was a detail they had missed.

Kyanna looked at Yua, then at Simon, that seemed awestruck for a moment.

Tucking the kid behind her back, the witch casted another glance at the samurai, stepping forward with her staff held tight, ready in case anything happened as she approached the temple, hoping that the other two would come with her.

Whenever they walked past the entrance...

???
Location: Lost Temple

"▛▚▗▙▟▞ ▚▘▜▛"

A gentle voice muttered, leading to a serene, short haired figure sitting by a throne covered with vines and plants, that spread all across the temple's hall, that was surrounded by animals of all types. Birds, deers, rodents, and even more dangeous creatures like wolves...

"▙▚▘▟ ..."

And a group of cats, with one fitting the description Simon had given-

"Suki!"

The boy called, darting from behind of Kyanna, eagerly going for the cat and hugging it tightly, making the cat let out a startled meow, and the witch to panic.

"Simon, wait-" She hissed, approaching.

"▚ ▖▝ ..."

The gentle voice quietened, and the figure stared at the newcomers, along with every animal that was in the temple.

The thin strands of hair on Yua's arms began to stand on end, the sensation of foreboding slowly creeping up on her as sounds around her mingled out of sight, the movement of the forest...fleeing? Like the woods themselves were anxious to uproot themselves and flee to somewhere safer.

She could feel eyes on the back of her neck, but wheresoever she turned, secret watcher always seemed to remain just out of view. Yua heard Kyanna mutter something too quietly for Yua to make it out clearly. "Kyanna?" the samurai whispered with a touch of n̴̛͕̈́͌e̸͔̪̐r̷̬̈́̅͆̋v̸̖̦̣̮͐̓̀ơ̶̪̥͚̿͗̔͊û̵̪̙̀̽̔̄ś̷̺͚͆ṇ̷̊̈́͆͘͠ę̵̗̦̽̽̔s̵͚̟̀̂s̷͉̽. "Any chance we could hurry things up a little? I got a bad feeling about this place."

Her hands wrapped firmly around the katana at her waist. More sounds. More eyes. Lying in wait. Ambush? Prey?

A temple.

Almost out of place, it towered above them, its great entrance looming overhead as the small party passed beneath its arches.

And then from just ahead, an indistinguishable voice, sickly sweet murmured.
"Suki!"
"Simon, wait-"
the two girl's said in unison.

The eyes were all around them, watching. "Kyanna? Do you know what this place is?" Yua asked, hoping her compatriot was at less of a loss than herself.

Kyanna pursed her lips, glancing at @Yua with as much unease as her, now that her senses and attention had settled down. "I think not only we could... but I think we should." She whispered back to the samurai, and her lips pursed while she remained watchful of the animals and the girl looking at them.

"I-I have no idea of what this place is either..." This only added to the confusion they were meddling with.

"It doesn't matter, Suki is here and he is fine..."

The boy squished the small cat, brushing his fingers on its head, then looking at the girl on the throne.

"Thank you for taking care of Suki! I have no idea why he ran away like that."

The strange girl tilted her head, mustering a small smile and letting out a giggle that eerily echoed through the room, in such a way that it almost made it sound like she wasn't there, but rather behind them, and then next to them, and perhaps even... face to face to each of them.

"Do not mention it, child..." She said, so quietly and gentle, and yet, everyone could listen to her as if her voice was reverberating near to their ears.

The eerie occasion made Kyanna reach for Simon's hand, tugging him closer as she nearly invaded Yua's personal space.

Her gaze then fell at Kyanna and Yua. "Why do you fear so much..?" She asked, her voice tingling in a vague sorrow... while a bear quietly made its move, becoming an obstacle to the gates of the building.

Simon seemed all together comfortable with the mysterious girl on the throne. Too comfortable, although, being a child, this was not at all unusual to Yua. What was unusual was how it seemed all the animals in the entire forest had congregated in this spot, and were carefully watching them. Either an audience, or protectors. Or maybe, just soldiers and hunters.

For the first time, the girl's voice echoed clearly, ringing and echoing in the small caverns of Yua's ears, unsettling in it's ethereal quality. "Why do you fear so much..?" She asked the two girls. As if she had asked the same question countless of times before.

"P-pardon us ma'am," Yu said, her voice wavering a moment before she managed to steel herself. "This place is just...rather strange. We mean no offense," she said, trying to mimic the way she'd heard knights and samurai speak in movies. "If you'd be so kind as to excuse us, we must escort this boy and his...companion home now, before it gets too dark out."

While Yua was responding to the girl, Kyanna was already trying to tug her along with Simon, hoping to reach the door only to notice the bear blocking their path. A faint squeak slipped from Kyanna, and she held Simon closer.

"Y-Yua, this isn't looking good at all..." She swallowed, turning to look at the girl on the throne, that kept her eyes locked on them, along with every animal.

At Yua's excuses, the girl simply smiled. "You are more than right, young lady." She asked, "It will get dark out, so why don't you stay with us?"

The animals were silent, but their oppressive gaze claimed the same thing.

Stay with us.

Be with us.

Be one of us.

Be us.

As those feelings hammered into the minds of the girls and the boy, the vegetation around the temple quivered, soon moving and creeping toward their direction, with the color not only from the vegetation, but from all of their surroundings losing color, becoming devoid of true life while vines tried to seek for them, with one entangling around the boy's legs.

"A-AAAH!!"

"Simon, wait!" The boy and the witch panicked, with the later trying to pull the boy away, only for roots to entangle around her, while others tried to reach for @Yua.

"After all."

The girl's hands clasped together.

"The seems the▐▔▒▕▄░ have taken a like into you."

Yua could feel Kyanna tugging on her haori, urging her back to the exit. With every word that the samurai spoke, she took a step backward, following the witch's lead out of the strange temple, only for their escape to be impeded by a large bear.

"You are more than right, young lady. It will get dark out, so why don't you stay with us?"
"Oh, thank you, but we really should get going,"
Yua chuckled nervously as Kyanna reminded her that things were very, very, much not looking good.

Then everything around them turned to gray, plunging them into a monochrome nightmare as the vines began to move around them, slithering and coiling around their limbs. Yua turned to the shouting behind her, drawing her blade as she did so to slice at the vines entrapping Simon and Kyanna. "Let us go!"

Kyanna struggled desperately when the vines wrapped around her, with Simon being mostly in shock while the witch tried to pull herself free violently, to no avail until Yua slashed the vines that held them entangled, freeing her while she almost stumbled and fell on her knees, still holding the boy tightly.

Her gaze went up to see the bear approaching abruptly, trying to pounce them, only for the witch to pull Simon and reach with her free hand to Yua, holding the samurai to urge her to dodge and run to one of the side doors of the large hall they were in.

"Y-Yua! We need to get out of here, these plants... They don't listen to me!"

As she spoke, she casted one last glance on the hall, seeing the animals locking an intense gaze on them, but never moving an inch, including the bear that had tried to attack them.

The girl, however, no longer seemed to be there.

Strangely... That place didn't even look like a hall anymore, but more looked like a pale white jungle, like a 3D model that completely lacked textures.

"A-Ah, it is fine, Suki, we will be fine!"

The boy reassured, and the cat, that seemed mostly normal for now, meowed in concern.

For some reason, no matter how hard they tried to find, there was no signs of windows, and eventually they met two staircases, one going up, and one going down.

"Ah no... Not choices. This isn't a good time for choices-" Kyanna pursed her lips, looking at Yua.

The vines tore away from Yua and her companions, falling away only to be replaced by Kyanna's fingers wrapped around Yua's wrist as she began to pull and tug the samurai toward the- "Where's the exit?!" Yua shouted in equal parts bewilderment and frustration, their scenery having somehow changed completely without anyone's notice.

Where were they, when did they get here? Why did the animals not do...anything? The vines though, they were quite angrily doing something, lashing out and try to grab the human limbs desperately trying to keep them away.

"Ah no... Not choices. This isn't a good time for choices-"
"W-what?"
Yua stuttered, turning away from her vine-slashing just long enough to look at whatever had stopped their progress. "Kuso...Up, go up!" Yua shouted, guessing entirely at random.

Yua charged up the stairs after Kyanna and Simon, "Kyanna, where are we?!"

"I don't know!" Kyanna nearly yelled the answer, desperate and following Yua upstairs, rushing and rushing and rushing... And soon it was clear for the two of them, that they were just going upstairs endlessly, without ever getting anywhere. "I don't know, it is... Everything is so weird, everything is... Ah... AH?!"

Kyanna felt her balance shift for a moment, and so did everyone that was hurrying upstairs. The ground didn't feel firm anymore, and the steps of the stairs suddenly turned, making it become a very steep ramp, slippery with a strange and viscous liquid. With a squeak, Kyanna fell face first on the ramp, slipping and sliding downwards, desperately trying to hold onto anything, but everything was covered with that strange and smelly sap!

"YUA!" She called, trying to reach for her, but she wasn't the only one sliding down, Simon and his cat were also going down, with Suki escaping from his hand.

"Suki!"

He called, but in the end, everyone was sliding to the same path:

To a hole, a fall to an unknown abyss.

Things just kept getting worse and worse. They pounded up the stairs, vines close at their heels, one almost wrapping around Yua's ankle and tripping her. The samurai turned and slashed at the vine, causing it to recoil. A few more steps, they kept going up until...well, they weren't going anywhere anymore. Almost cartoonish, every step Yua took left her in the same exact place, her feet sliding down...a ramp?

"Oh no..."

It was all screaming on the way down the slick slide. Yua stretched hand out for both Kyanna and Simon, her sword already lost to the abyss. Flailing hands grasped and missed that of her friends. And then they were in freefall. The wind whipped by Yua's face and it became darker and darker until the only evidence that the others were still with her were their screams too.

Darkness engulfed them entirely.

The screams echoed, and they flailed, perhaps even reaching a terminal velocity as they could only accept their fate, not knowing when they would meet the ground and probably die in the process... At least until they finally reached somewhere-

Strangely enough, the impact with the surface was very far from deadly. It was almost as if all the acceleration of their fall meant nothing. The impact felt numb, and actually, as they moved, any direct touch with the strange surface felt numb. In complete darkness, it was hard to tell where from where, or who from who- But it was easy to listen to the whimpering of the poor kid.

"Simon? Yua?!" Kyanna called, and her voice was very clear, and so was Simon's as he responded.

"U-Uuuh....uuhh... I-I'm here..."

Simon spoke with a cracked voice, and Kyanna quickly tried to approach him, and Yua as well, whenever she responded. "Here, here... Don't cry... We are going to find a way out of here..." She promised, pursing her lips and not managing to see anything, but if she reached out, she would be able to touch Yua or Simon.

They were there.

"Where are we though... This place feels weird..." Even walking was troublesome, she struggled to not trip or something, as if she was walking on a ground crowded with things. Almost like a ball pit, but with the numb tact it had, it was hard to discern what it was.

Yua's voice had gone hoarse long ago during their dark descent. Even if she could have kept screaming, Yua had tired of it. The rushing wind filled her ears and replaced the sound of her own voice. It was only because the rushing wind ceased that Yua realized they had stopped falling. And for a moment, she thought she'd died.

Huh, it wasn't all that bad. Awfully boring though.

The sound of Kyanna and Simon's voices alerted Yua to the fact that she was, in fact, still alive. "I'm here!" Yua called back. Every touch felt dulled. Like someone had turned off the nerves in her body. Trying to move was hard. Unsteady. But Yua tried nonetheless, deciding that crawling and shuffling was the best way to move towards the other two. "I lost my sword..." Yua said forlornly as the voices got closer. The first thing that felt real, the touch of another person. Yua's fingers curled around the hands she found. "Its so dark in here. Can anyone make some light?"

The comfort of @Yua's hands were more than Kyanna could ever ask at the moment, taking a firmer hold of it and approaching the girl, with her hand also reaching Simon's eventually, pulling him close as well. "O-Okay! I think everyone is here!" She sighed, feeling her heart drumming against her chest with all strength. The witch could swear she would end up having a heart attack with so much adrenaline stimuli at once.

"That's not good..." She muttered at the fact her friend had just lot her sword, and she quickly took her request. "I can try to make some-" Kyanna concentrated, focusing on summoning a glowy fungi, that slowly began sprout from her body, entangling on the strange surface they were touching...

And the results were... Intriguing.

Roots, thorns, they had been cutting through the girls and the boy's flesh without they even realizing. Their arms were covered by cuts, bloodied even, and the trail of blood was clear, one that even lead to Yua's sword, that was wrapped by some vines. Kyanna flinched at the sight, and the light from the glowy fungi was slowly engulfed by those thorns, and the darkness slowly faded away, revealing an endless landscape of thorns and vines, all of them having the same animals that were in the 'temple' tightly wrapped in them, with twisted bodies and in anti-anatomical positions, something akin to a nightmare that was hard to grasp.

"A-Ahh... Ah!" The boy widened his eyes, terrified.

... And the girl... It was there.

"You shouldn't have run... It makes it sad."

The roots tightened the grasp around them, and even if it wasn't painful, it was uncomfortable, and it clearly was cutting them.

"Wh-What are you doing?!" She yelled, unsure if she should struggle-

"It is not me..."

A pure white sphere opened in the end of that abstract landscape of thorns and vines. The sphere closed once, twice, and opened widely in a nearly blinding light that scorched one's eyes just like a star.

"... It is the ancient... It thinks you... You are worth of it... Of belonging it... Of being part of him... Of being... One of us."

The hold started squeezing the girls, and even if it wasn't painful, they knew their lives were in danger, except for Simon, that was speechless and frozen in shock.

Yua let out an audible sigh of relief upon hearing verbal confirmation that everyone was together again and, presumably, ok. At least physically. Who knew how they'd feel once this wall over, especially little Simon. But if they were ever going to have the opportunity to worry about that, they needed to find their way out of...wherever they were right now.

And that place was a thorny hell. Yua hadn't noticed the vines curling around her until Kyanna's light had illuminated the area. Almost without thought, she began to struggle, until the glint of steel drew her attention. Her sword! Yua crawled, painfully, towards the weapon. The thorns dug into her skin, but she went on anyways, until she could grasp her weapon and free it from the bramble. "Hold on guys! I'll cut you loose!"

At that point, the horrifying sight had completely shocked little Simon, that could barely muster screams, frozen in fear. If anything, the good part of his current state was the lack of struggling, that didn't let the thorns hurt his fragile body.

The same couldn't be said about Kyanna, though, that struggled the most- but not as efficiently as Yua was doing. "S-Simon! Hang in there!" She pleaded, trying to reach for the boy's hand again, but to no avail.

Her teeth gritted, and glancing at Yua attempting to get to her sword, the fungi witch had an idea sparkling into her mind.

Forcing her hand up, she took he hat, chanting a spell word- "Abracadabra!" That allowed small animated mushrooms to sprout out of her hat, rapidly venturing through the eldritch thorns and reaching for Yua's blade, helping her to pull it off while releasing magical spores that coated the blade of the weapon, enhancing it.

With the sword on Yua's hands, Kyanna sighed. "I-I am counting on you, Yua- Hhmp?!" Before she could voice her faith to the girl, vines and thorns abruptly wrapped around Kyanna's face and mouth, pulling her deeper into the chaotic mess that was entangling them.

If Yua had the time to think about where the walking mushroom pulling her sword had come from, Yua would have realized it was one of Kyanna's summons. But she didn't have that kind of time, so instead of questioning the small fungi, Yua's hands wrapped around the hilt of her katana, the snow white staining red with her blood as she began to slash at the vines.

"I'm coming guys!" the girl shouted back, only able to hear the muffled shouts of the witch. They needed her! She couldn't let a bunch of vines stop her, not now! Yua wrenched herself free of the vines, and began carving her way to her friends. "Get off me!"

'Yua-!'

Kyanna couldn't voice her call, struggling to get rid of the vines that continued to wrap around her, tightening the grip while silencing and dragging her further into the swarm of vines. The last sight Kyanna had of Yua was of her managing to get her sword, and trying to force her arm out of that, she clenched it, summoning her powers to try and wither the vines that were around her with her corruptive power.

For a moment, Kyanna felt the ill energy being drained into her body, which caused her to wince, but she struggled regardless, urging to fight against the horrifying situation the were in.

Eventually, she managed to bring her head out to the surface again, gasping for air as her mouth and face were free again- "L-Let us go already!" She yelled, swinging her arm and releasing a corruptive cloud of spores, that withered the vines and giving them an opening, and trying to pull Simon to her, while closing her distance to Yua.

"I-I don't think we have much time-" She said, forcing her withering cloud to circle the vines that were surrounding the swordswoman, but soon her arms and body were tightly pulled again, with the relentless vines not giving any of the trio a moment to rest or breath.

"I-I don't think we have much time-"
"I-I know!"
Try as she might, Yua could not fully free herself from the vines. Relentless, for every single one she cut and severed another, or two, or three would replace it and bind her again, or Kyanna or Simon. It was like there was no end in sight. Even with Kyanna's help, the clouds of spore and whatever magic she possessed seemed to pale in comparison to the untamed wildness of the vine-growths.

"C'mon, we can't give up. Simon!" Yua called out to the boy, a hand outstretched. At the very least, they could help him, couldn't they? But maybe that was too much to hope. Isolated, vulnerable the outstretched hand quickly found itself being pulled to the ground with Yua swifting falling after it, until she too was stuck to the spiny earth like the other two.
