♠ ♥ ♦ ♣ ALWAYS BET ON DARK : DEALER'S RUNNING COMMENTARY ♠ ♥ ♦ ♣

Current Mood: NoooOOoooOOoooOOOoooOOOoooOOOo"

"Huh~?"

"Huuuuuuuh~?"

*Glamdark's poise was broken as she noticed her HP was at zero, and ALL of her patrons' were... not.*

"NO! NOOOOOOOOO! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE! I HAVEN'T LOST! BECAUSE OF COURSE I HAVEN'T... WE STILL HAVEN'T PLAYED THE UHM...! THE DARKNING ROUND! SO DON'T LEAVE JUST YET MY LOVELY PATRONS... THE GAME CONTINUES...! Right? Surely, you're not ready to leave just yet~!"

*Glamdark was practically begging as she schemed to set the players against one another once more. And so, she revealed the optional DARKNING ROUND. It was a temptation, a bet for even more reward. The players could simply leave... they'd gotten quite a bit of coin, but where would the fun be in that?*

"Eherm~ let's up the stakes a bit shall we? And REALLY make this night INTERESTING. I present you a short and quick game, the rules, as simple as you can imagine..."

*Glamdark clapped her hands and the board shifted*

"Before you, as you can see, are three dark horse figurines on the straight track. Each horse is represented by a die, there is the RECKLESS horse, the CRITICAL horse, and the BURST horse. Simply place your winnings on the one you deem best. The winning horse shall divvy up the points of its slower rivals. Now, you will play yes? Doesn't it sound fun? Don't you want to see what happens~?"

*Glamdark paused for a moment.*

"Oh, right, the winners are Hanno in first with the critical suprise, then Zelrius in second who was able to cling on, and in third Yugam who demonstrated remarkable consistency. Truly a battle of chance and wills. Of course, each of you still has your winnings because nobody went bust... (damn you all)..."

How to play:

DARK HORSE RACING

The following is a bonus round, it will not effect the leader boards. In narrative, this is a chance to walk away with more coins and bragging rights. Three dice sets will race to the score below. Simply react to this post with the type of roll you believe will win.

Dark-Horse Race, First to 3,327 (current total score of all players)

RECKLESS (4d100 ): PRAY

CRITICAL(1d100 Adv): FIRE

BURST (20d20 Exp): THONK

This battle will be settled through discord. You may all make your closing posts or stay for one more round! Thanks for playing~!

*If they cross the finish in the same number of rolls, the horse with the highest total score will win.

*Glamdark has chosen RECKLESS

Ah, the game is over. As soon as that realization dawned on Chrys, he gulped down the remaining drops of his drink, gave the dealer a nod to acknowledge the otherwise interesting game, and started hauling his winnings, oblivious to how much noise he was making. Chrys didn't come here to risk anything. He simply joined to get some money to fund his businesses. Anything else would be very uncharacteristic of him, even though his Player was a legendary dumbass risk taker.

The dealer wasn't done with her spiel, barely even in the middle of her necessary exposition for the bonus round of sorts, but Chrys was already on his way out the door. Those corpses aren't going to prepare themselves for burial, you know. Well, as far as he knew. But Chrys didn't know much about preparing corpses for burial. The funeral parlor thing was his bankroller's idea. It was all getting too convoluted even for him. Still, in the immortal words of that one worker orc in that dead game, "ready to work." Or some shit like that I don't know is it 150 words yet ah it is nice ggs

"Oh..." Hanno blinked, noticed he had won. "Well, that was cool. But I hope you are fine... buddy?" He said, mostly unsure seeing @Glamdark's reaction. Granted, that was a lot of winnings, right? Hell it was!

As realization sunk, Hanno's lips grew in a smile. "And here I thought gambling was all about losing, turned out all of us won!" He beamed at everyone, though halted with an apologetic look at the salmon haired woman. "- almost everyone" He cleared his throat, and clasping his hand on the table.

"In that case! Whoever stays for ! Bit longer, I am buying their drinks and some snacks too. Tonight it is all on me!" Hanno grinned, waiting for his own drink to get refilled. Yesh, if it was a win, he needed to celebrate in some way, and why not with his game buddies and the host of the game.

"My bet goes to the Critical!"

<GAME SET! x2 BURSTY WINS!!!!!>

♠ ♥ ♦ ♣ ALWAYS BET ON DARK : DEALER'S RUNNING COMMENTARY ♠ ♥ ♦ ♣

Current Mood: Utterly Crushed

"..."

*BONK* <--- this was the commical sound of Glamdark slamming her forehead on the table. The dark magic of the darkographic table shimmered as the windows soliatire-like fireworks celebration continued to go off. Bursty had won, Starlight Shammaker hadn't been feeling it that day, and Crito hadn't even come close. In her heart of hearts, Glamdark was sure that Bursty had the greatest odds, but she wanted to believe... she wanted to WIN.

"mrphfrshf~ (Bursty wins)"

She mutters not moving.

"mrprprhfhr~ mrsghsehrft~ mrafu~ (And with that thrilling final game, our night is now finished, thanks for playing everyone~ <3)"

Glamdark lifelessly waved above where her face was still pasted to the dark game table, then, she lacklusterly rolled her head onto one cheek. Her eyes were closed, as if she were waiting for the headsman's axe.

"Your winnings are yours, well earned my players. *Long Sigh* and now, for one final rule of the evening, no, make that two. First, see that you arrive home safely. The second, and perhaps more important one, if anyone kind of shady looking ever asks if you know of The Sorceress Supreme, The Darklustrious Glamdark, tell them no. Or, that I have long fled to Tertoria. Have a nice night everyone... yay..."

Continuing to wave somewhat rudely, as if she were in a half-sleep, Glamdark did not move.

Perhaps sensing the mood, the smooth jazz quietly replaced itself with Closing Time by Semisonic.

***

It was a scheme, and yet not anything quite so ruthless. Simple enough and just above the level. Dark Magic runs on dark emotions, whether the user's or those that can be gathered, harbored, or stored. And yet, to harvest the purest, strongest, of such needed emotions would mean braving incredible danger or tragedy, or to bring about such things oneself or to oneself. Glamdark could be a bit scummy, but she wasn't evil, or particularity burdened by anything. And so, Glamdark had a thought:

What if people could be willingly convinced to line up and feel awful? Wouldn't that just be the best? And where else are dreams more readily dashed than on games of chance? There was of course MOBAs but that was a little beyond her at the moment...

***

It was a considerable harvest and from a place very close to home. Perhaps she could have saved herself the trouble, because the majority of her harvested negative energy had come from just how awful she was feeling right about now.

And so, the night ended, the players played, and the dealer shamefully played the Joker. And yet, Jokers are wild. What will such a hand gain on the next round~? The shameless Glamdark who never knows when to quit would like to see...

...the wheel of fate was already turning, and just like that, Glamdark was planning her return to the top with tears in her eyes and a heart full of dreams.

THANKS FOR PLAYING~!
