She'd finally made it. The forests had seemed never ending, but as she stepped into the city of Stokbon, Kyra couldn't help but look around in marvel. She'd heard tale of the city, of how realistic, how overwhelming it could be. She'd considered that just people who'd never experienced virtual reality, trying to impress upon her the concept of how real the game could be.

"I should've given them more credit. This place is incredible. I'm going to...have to look around. A lot. This is going to take forever to explore!"

Her gaze wandered over the area, seeing a variety of humanoids moving throughout the street - often times people stopping at shop stalls, or other areas in order to complete whatever it was they were doing. Kyra's ears pinned down against her head as the noise of it all suddenly reached her, the overwhelming sound of a city suddenly becoming a reality.

I hadn't thought about how loud it would be... She instantly regretted her position. She knew that she would get used to it in time, but as she held her head, shaking slightly in response to the sound, she wanted nothing more but to run back into the forest, to disappear from all the noise and pain it brought.

A hand rested itself on her shoulder, causing her to jump in fear as she turned to see what appeared to be an older man smiling down at her. He seemed patient, waiting for her to collect herself before speaking aloud.

"Would you happen to be looking for some work? If so, I've got a small convoy...well, a carriage....that needs a guard. It pays alright, but it could be dangerous if we run into anything."

Kyra seemed frozen in place for a second as she considered the situation. She was sure that money was always good to have, but she'd only just arrived, and she wasn't sure of her bearings yet. Still, work was work, and in a roleplaying game, you needed work.

"Sure...I guess I could use the work. Although, I'm not used to being a caravan guard...not that I don't think I can do it! Err...lead the way!"

Her tail flicked slightly as she shifted her gaze back around her, unsure of her decision, but not willing to give in to doubt now. She'd taken the job, and now there was - likely - no backing out.

Stokbon was about as real as it got when it came to densely-populated cityscapes. It was really a marvel how anyone had managed to actually code a city like this, programming all the people to really act like citizens of something bigger than them. She'd been approached by the older man earlier and she was tagging along with him as he asked another girl if she needed work.

He seemed to have a type, or it was just coincidence that they were both beastfolk. Her tail wagged and she smiled as her eyes met with the other girl, offering a small wave,

"Hey there! You can call me Juni. Welcome to caravan work! Only my second time doing it but if its anything like last time it should be pretty boring." She said, feeling confident that it would be, "I hope we get some action, though. It's a lot more fun with action." Obviously feeling a bit too much like a main character in that she often felt invincible, even if she really wasn't and knew better in the back of her mind.

Kyra smiled at the other woman, raising her left hand in a wave. Her tail wagged softly behind her, the excitement of the entire experience clearly displayed on her face. Her eyes were wide, not with shock but with the enthusiasm of someone in a new place, a new experience.

Oh...hi! My name's Kyra Vashtana - you can call me Kyra. It's a pleasure to meet you. I've never really done one of these before - well, not in this gam-place, at least.

The caravan had already begun to move as the two had taken a moment to speak, and Kyra bounded forward, determined not to be left behind on her first real escort duty.

Come on...! Wouldn't want to be left behind on our first real job here, right? Well, my first real job, I guess. You said you did one of these before? Did you run into any issues? Like, I'm not afraid of...well, I'd just prefer this to be smooth and comfortable, if possible.

The caravan wasn't huge - a few carts, a couple of individuals walking alongside them who appeared to be merchants, and then Kyra and the other individual acting as guards. She glanced over the entire caravan again, before sliding up beside the other girl and whispering.

Hey...on your other caravan...were there more people along for the guard? There's like three carts here...and only two of us...does that seem normal to you?

Her nickname was exchanged for a full name and she felt a little bad about that, but didn't have much time to do so as the girl was already leaving that behind and moving on to a new topic. Almost being left behind, Juni caught up quickly and started to notice what Kyra was noticing at around the same time.

"Yea, this is my second one. Last one was pretty smooth and didn't have any issues, but you never know with this kind of work, ya know? Speaking of, what sort of stuff do you do? I'm all about AoE attacks and chain combos with these things here." She said, starting to juggle her sphera without actually touching them.

Something gave her a bad feeling that was solidified when Kyra whispered to her. She nodded,

"It's a little weird, that's for sure. Just the two of us could be enough for this size of caravan but...I'm not sure. Something feels off. Suddenly I'm not so sure about this one going so smoothly."

Kyra hummed at the girl's response. She wasn't entirely confident about the entire venture - more so when someone with more experience with this suddenly confirmed what she had been worried about. It's no wonder they were willing to take just about anyone who volunteered...probably couldn't find anyone else worth their...

Just means we need to be more on our guard...although who knows, maybe just our presence and appearance is enough to keep dangers away. I mean, it's not like we don't present a fear-inspiring image, right?

She smiled as she skipped slightly, her movements completely contradicting the imagery that her words had tried to create. Slowly, she returned to a more casual stance, eyes glancing around even as her ears twitched atop her head.

As to what I'm good at...my focus is on healing, although I'm not horrible with this, either.

She tapped the scythe on her hip, causing the chain to rattle ever so slightly. She preferred not to use it, but that didn't mean that she wasn't capable with it. On the contrary, she had proved to be rather deadly on occasion.

Still...here's hoping to a nice, smooth walk through the woods with no concerns, right?

One could always be hopeful, even if that hope was to prove folly. She hadn't ever heard of a safe caravan trip that needed guards, although she didn't doubt the possibility. Protection through presence...let's just hope that our situation falls into that category.
