Levi addressed @Ishtara de Vanteau.

You can look up Levi Vittori, Police Captain of the Boston Police Department.

And it's fine if you don't join the pride, but if I had any advice for you, it would be to find trusted allies as soon as possible.

He then turned toward @Roland Rutledge.

The times has changed since you were last in the game, Duke.

Astorea now has divided itself into three factions. The Lion Arms, which provides law enforcement, public services, and military. Explorers League, which set out to uncover more of this mysterious land, and the MIT, which research the game and find a way to help the UI-locks get out. There's also the Adventurers Guild, operated by former Royal Aide, Cessia, though they are a politically independent organization and doesn't actually do anything to advance the Astorean collective goal.

Are you interested in forwarding the players' collective goal? It's difficult to find people who actually care about the UI-locks other than those who are personally affected.

Chad yelped a bit after listening to the explanation on insurance.

Arrgh! Huh? Why would you pay for that? It sounds a heck of a lot like a crappier Lion's promise since you don't have to pay us at all… other than through taxes. Hmmm… maybe the world of Travelers ain't all that then… Ow ow! Time out, time out!

Levi nodded at @Toko.

It's a fair assumption. We're just a bit more than passionate when it comes to our mission.

If you're interested in any of the other factions, my men and women will provide you with a map to their outreach offices.

To @Ru Ning, Levi expression darkened by a shade.

I will have to respectfully decline that offer. I think it would only serve to hurt them more to know that I'm still here… I don't want them logging in on this death game. Ever. Let the sleeping dogs lie.

There was a hint of a deep-seated pain appearing of Levi's face for a brief second.

When @Sol made her exit, Levi and his group nodded. Even if they got along like oil and water, the woman didn't particularly do them any harm. Mimi smiled quietly when she saw the red-head take some cookies for a road. When he spotted the change in Mimi's demeanor, he felt a little bit bad about causing the scene earlier.

And finally to @Ayna Nietzsche, Zeus exclaimed in a way that only Zeus can.

OHO! You should definitely MEET Cessia. She's WONDERFUL! Very SMART! You may get along GREAT! Come! I will introduce you to the LASS!

Ishtara nods to Levi. A bit happy that she got more of an answer than she expected. She made a mental note to look that name up later. Along with the police... "I'm sure I'll find someone to drag me out of danger... but I might be logging out here soon to process everything that has happened today." She sighs and shakes her head, running her hands through her hair.

Though before long the woman's head turned to @Roland Rutledge . There were a couple blinks of confusion at him before she snorted.

"What? Think yourself some kind of chosen one?" But she left it at that as she took a deep breath... and let out a sigh. There was nothing she could really do here. She had no direction even if she was offered one. She turned around, reached for one of the plates of cookies. Ooo white chocolate- and began munching.

She was however very interested in hearing more about this from the Lions. Everything she could learn she wanted to learn now before it was too late to do so.

A brief sigh escaped from Ru's lips as he duly noted Levi's response. Not one to prod an angry bear any further than necessary, he'd politely bow while reiterating his comprehension to show understanding. Though a bit strange the captain wouldn't want to inform anyone of his well being, it wasn't an uncommon viewpoint given his current situation. Were Ru in the same boat, perhaps he too wouldn't want to remind others outside of his existence, not that many would dare venture into a supposed death game at their own expense. The thought was rather touching and incredibly considerate, hinting ever so briefly at the true depth of character before him.

"Understood… very well. We let sleeping dogs lie."

With that, he'd turn to bid farewell to Mimi, supplier of cookies, as well as Chad, wrangler of sheep. On the way out, the lepus stashed away an extra cookie for the road. Considering how wonderful they were, it'd be a shame to leave them uneaten. His next goal? The outreach offices of the other factions, hopefully with a new friend in tow.

When Zeus made Ayna an offer to lead her to Cessia and her merry group of adventurers, he had her at "come." Wonderful and smart, Cessia was beginning to sound to Ayna like a legend in her own right. That was probably very close to the truth, especially considering she was the master of a guild all by herself. That and she seemed to be financing this other group as well, even though it was mostly just Zeus whose offer Ayna could not refuse. How could she? He was a silver wolf, and even if all his money came from Cessia, he still had a lot of money. That sounded like music to Ayna's ears.

Oooh! Well, how can a girl say no to that? A big burly man to keep her company? To keep all to herself? Say less, Zeus. Say less.

Then it dawned on her the possibility that others may tag along, which didn't sit well with her. Having Zeus all to herself was a good strategy, but having someone else? More than a single someone?

It'll just be the two of us, right?

Then again, maybe they'd be useful, too. Why have one moneybag when you can have more? Ayna's gold-digging instincts were at an all-time high. Anything for Lyrwick. With that in mind, her vigor was renewed, and she readied herself to follow Zeus' lead. On the plus side, for her at least, she'd be riiiiight behind him. Behind his behind. Ninety points to Ravenclaw for that last pun.

Similar to a few others the lepus finally felt it was time to leave the tavern, after all she wasn't particularly interested in joining the Lion Arms faction... and they had also given her some things to think and worry about. A courteous nod was given to Levi before Toko followed her lepus companion, also acquiring a map of her own, before giving a soft wave of goodbye to the faerin that liked to bake delicious treats.

"Keep it up, Mimi... if you have time, the bakery in town also has really yummy treats and tea. Maybe you can compare recipes with the owner?"

While Toko wasn't particularly fond of the white chocolate variants the faerin had made there were other cookies in her platter that had been pretty delicious to eat—honestly the Lion Arms should consider using that as their selling point instead of kidnapping new travelers from the streets, it would probably yield better results.

What?

Roland said, staring at @Ishtara de Vanteau incredulously.
Of course not. I'm just saying that. I. Well. I'm good at things that other people may...not be as good as....me...

Flustered he petered out leaving things at that and merely offering Levi a nod of gratitude for the information.

He normally wouldn't be so easily flabbergasted. However, hearing what Levi said had left him off-kilter, and the elf's words were enough to catch him off guard.
Astorea has splintered into three parts, or four if Levi's assumption about the adventures league was inaccurate.

MIT.
The Explorers League.
The Adventures League.

What goals did they have?

Lost in thought Roland wandered out the exit thinking about his next move.
He had time. He could look further into these organizations...
But could he afford to get wrapped into the politics of this world again?

Levi's formal acknowledgment of Roland's once title floated in his head as he walked down the stone street.

"Duke."
"Not anymore."

OHO! Great! Away we GO!

Zeus shouted in excitement, alerting Levi, who has been leery of the purple-haired whirlwind the entire time, but when he overheard Zeus' conversation, he immediately grabbed onto Zeus' oversized arm (the only one he has) and pulled him aside.

Hey, old man, maybe you shouldn't go with that one, I can see the coins twinkling her eyes. You bite that bait and the gold digger will swallow up your entire pension fund in a single gulp.

WHAT?!

Zeus immediately turned to @Ayna Nietzsche.

You know where to DIG for GOLD?! You should take me THERE! If we had GOLD, we can give ALL the CHILDREN PRESENTS this WINTERSDAY!

Levi's face suddenly felt tired as he watched the pair head off.
