MAI's positive response washed Kyanna's mind with relief and happiness, seeing that the tears that appeared on the magia's face were nothing short of tears of joy. She could feel the tears gently brushing on her hand, making the witch muster a small smile to her, along with a breath that had escaped her lips after holding it for so long.

"Mmm... Good..." She said, releasing her other hand to embrace the magia closer, making sure they would be well tuck into the layers of blankets that protected the two of them.

"I'm happy too... Getting it off my chest..." Kyanna said, letting out a brief giggle and caressing her... Friend..? She didn't know how to refer her to anymore, not after that. "... And that you feel the same." She muttered, resting her head on the magia's, finally slipping:

"I like you... A lot." Kyanna voiced it, which should've been obvious after what they had just done, but she decided to let it known by ear as well.

An absence of something was always difficult to notice when it was never there, to begin with. To remain by oneself, un-needing of company or love. The girl thought about herself in such a way sometimes. Humans were diverse, and some simply did not fit the norm. She never felt particularly lonely or sad despite her lack of friends or intimate relationships outside of her family. But once Kyanna filled that absence, no matter how briefly, she started craving it.

"Mhm. So... happy to show that... whenever... and however. Even if I don't quite know how right now..."

There was still a shard of uncertainty embedded in her heart. Did the witch truly love her... her? Or did she merely fall for the mask that she wore? It was impossible to say with how things were right now, but rather than doubting herself... she simply craved the attention too much to break it apart right now, even if her worries were to be proven truthful.

The small mechanical hands moved up to clasp and rest against Kyanna's own, gently squeezing it as it rested against MAI's cheek, slightly wet from the tears that slowed down ever so slightly. With each moment, the girl's mind calmed, her breathing steadied, and a realization that this was not a dream enforced itself. Perhaps Kyanna herself could feel that change through their contact, the ephemeral mana transferred through the warm touch?

"Still can't calm heart down after all... especially if Kyanna will keep saying things like that..."

She giggled a bit as well.

Kyanna looked at MAI with a sheepish smile. "This... This is something we can learn together." She said, tilting her head. "I'm not quite sure how either, so for now... I will just do what I feel like I want to do, if that isn't selfish of my part." She admitted, looking at the magia and giving one last caress on her cheek before lowering it to rest on the girl's shoulder, with her gaze falling as it averted MAI's eyes.

MAI's touch was welcomed, no longer feeling as awkward as it felt moments ago. It was strange, Kyanna felt perfectly comfortable with physical contact with her before her confession, during it, it felt strange and uncertain, and now once again it felt just right.

Surely, her mind wasn't in the best of the states right now.

"Mine can't either... It feels like it will jump out of my chest at any moment. Do you want to take a breather..?" Kyanna asked, offering a small smile when listening to the giggle, albeit slightly concerned about MAI's well being.

After all, those tears probably meant what they were doing were being an emotional exertion to her.

"Selfish..?"

The girl paused for a brief moment.

"Selfish is good."

All people were selfish— a natural thing for a human to be. Survival came not through hyperfocus on selfishness or selflessness but through the union of both. And the feelings of desire, the natural drive to keep someone loved for oneself, those were feelings that MAI understood wholly, accepted them, and perhaps even welcomed them in a certain way.

As Kyanna rested her head against the machine's shoulder, undoubtedly composed of cold and hard metals underneath, yet soft to the touch at the false skin and fabric of her hoodie, she would move her hands to embrace the witch behind her shoulders meekly. As much as she wanted to let her tears flow some more, she tried to dry them, a remnant— vestiges of her empty will of the past.

"But... it's probably fine. Heart that beats fast... better than one that does not beat at all. Faster and faster... racing toward something new."

She felt tired. Her body was heavy, and her limbs barely moved in the embrace. It was strange just how taxing something could be, even while demanding no physical activity. Thankfully, one simple look around them showed that they were more than ready to 'take a breather', wrapped up in blankets and comfortable as they could possibly be on a slightly windy hill over a small town.

"Sounds good."

"Selfish can be good, I suppose." Kyanna giggled, surprised at MAI's response, snuggling closer and tugging the blankets to wrap them more, and to leave no room for an inconvenient breeze.

A small smile crossed Kyanna's lips at MAI's words, and with the arm of the magia wrapping her softly in an embrace, it didn't take long for the witch to accept it and lean on the warmth and comfort of her touch even more. Her heart was beating quickly still, a bit erratic, and yet it was warm and cozy, certain of something:

She loved the one she was sharing a blanket with, under the stars that had witnessed their confession.

"Something new... So let's face it together..." She hummed briefly, resting a hand over MAI's and closing her eyes with a smile over her lips, allowing the tiredness and the comfort to take away her conciousness as she fell asleep in her arms.
