Some time had passed since the Broodmother had released it's terror upon the land, and thus came a calling for people to come together and work on rebuilding Camp Nisus. While some people came together to gather materials and put up new structures, others were called for more... Intense tasks, ranging from defeating some jaguars near the lost city, to beating up some sneaky monoids patrolling a little to close for comfort. But out of all of them, Sol found herself picking up the bounty to fend off some slimodiles, slime crocodiles, that were making it hard for them to research some old magitech remnants. But alas, she couldn't do it alone, and after a bit of searching she found a small group to do the job with. Unfortunately she didn't know most of them, but they would have to do.

And that's how she found herself, standing near the edge of Camp Nisus as to not get in the way of any of the bustling workers or other players going about, fingers fiddling with the piece of paper in front of her on her notepad that had the information of the bounty and the way to get to the very location written in jet black ink with clear handwriting. Written by yours truly, she had made sure to get down all the info so that they wouldn't get lost on the way and to make the whole trip easier. Always be prepared when going on expeditions. Even the small, not so expedition ones... Anyway.

Glancing around the area, Sol pursed her lips. Although she had never met two of the players she was working with today before, she knew the last one... Actually, she knew him quite well. She was surprised that she was seeing so much of him around after what happened at the fight, especially without discussing what had went down before hand... But honestly, a part of her was just happy that he still allowed her to be around after what she had done. And that, for now, granted her all the satisfaction she needed, even if she was partially uneasy. They would talk when he was ready, Speaking of Frey...

Pulling up her UI, she headed to the messages tab, scrolling down to their direct messages that had gone not responded to. How many times had she ignored him again? Gulping a little, she wrote up a new message, short and sweet before hitting the send button.

Mail

@Frey Elzeiros

Hey, you on your way?

Quickly closing her UI, she stood back, crossing her arms over her chest as she kept sharp eye out for either of the other two members; A small girl in purple, and large man with a helmet.

She'd been picked up by another group. Another outing. She was beginning to wonder if there wasn't a shortage of healers, somehow. It had seemed like her presence was popular - with groups hunting down her expertise in order to head out into the wilds and deal with whatever lay beyond.

"So...have either of you headed out into the jungle beyond before? This'll be my...third?...I think third outing, in the jungle. It's uh...well, it's an experience. Not always a fun one, but definitely an experience."

She leaned back against the log she'd been sitting against, her ears twitching as she listened for any sounds of concern. So far there was nothing, but she had learnt to be alert - especially in these areas. The woman who had original scouted Kyra had appeared lost in though, flicking through what Kyra could only assume was the user interface. Something that Kyra suddenly realised she rarely interacted with, aside from using it to log out of the system itself.

"Uhm...you mentioned that we're waiting on a fourth, right? I mean, not trying to rush anyone - just want to make sure we're playing it safe. Oh, I'm Kyra, by the way. I focus on healing, mostly."

She provided her beaming smile once she had finished, looking at the other two in kind as she waited to see if either would bother to deign her with a response.

There was indeed a man in a helmet. He looked... a bit shorter than the one she remembered. Was his name always a pun? It had felt like there had been even less effort than that. Even still, this man in the helmet with rotating parts and twisting lenses was here all the same, insisting that he had been assigned to help this expedition as part of his research stint out in the new swamp.

Askera had come out here for that very reason. For one, a book on what the ecology used to be like before the Yladian's retreat was only that-just the past. It would likely be different even now that the demons had been removed, and he intended to note these changes. Another reason was related to the helmet on his head. An analysis visor-like device, he thought this place to be a good location to test out the details and iron out the kinks.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Kyra-san. Sun-san. I am your hired aide assigned by the MIT's current standing camp. If you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer to the best of my ability. I also have brought a supply of potions for our expedition."

It had been a while since he'd gotten out to meet other players. It felt nice.

A notification beckoned his attention, pulling him away from the conversation he was so distracted by as to ignore the passing of time altogether. In his hurry to get to the previously arranged meeting place, he forgot to write an appropriate reply to indicate he was on his way, not that sending a message while trying to dodge civilians going about their duties would be any easier.

"Hey Red!" Frey shouted from afar, a blur of movement in the distance as rapid steps ensured he remained out of people's ways. Even when he became within touching distance, he still kept moving, circling around @Sol's space to plant a kiss to the back of her head.

"I don't think I've had the pleasure, so allow me to introduce myself: Frey Elzeiros, title pending. Thank you for coming along." The faerin bowed his head as he came to a full stop in front of one @Kyra Vashtana, taking her hand in his and planting a swift kiss on her knuckles. A courteous smile, and then he moved on from the scene.

Not one to let others pass on his strange greeting rituals, he went to do the same with the individual whose face remained obscured by the strange contraption worn around their head. "On second thought... You look rather scary. Good to have you on board, though!" @Askera Question's helmet instead gave the faerin cause to not kiss their hand, instead going for a friendly shoulder squeeze as he passed them by.

"Right, so are these people the excitable fellows we are to go out with today? I've been told our little problem is somewhere over... There!" He thrust his right hand outwards, materializing in a flash of iridescent light an intricately decorated cane which he then used to point to a location with previous sightings of their quarry. Troublesome indeed, these never-ending hunts. Tucking it underneath his arm, he clapped as he set his attention to the new arrivals, taking in the sight of them with an approving nod. "Aaaaalright, then. Let's hope we don't end up finding a half-petrified arachnid corpse to then call a swarm of insects to descend upon us. So long as that doesn't happen, we should all be good."

He chuckled, the sound hollow as anyone acquainted with him for longer than a few seconds would be able to tell.

"...Too soon?"

Sol's eyes kept trained on the crowd of people around them as Kyra spoke behind her, her words going in one ear and out the other as she picked up on small ideas of what she was talking about. Even though she hadn't headed into the forest yet, she remembered quite well walking down the river area when the Explorer's League had set out to begin with. These new places weren't something to mess with, if that was any telling with the gigantic river siren that had nearly bit her head off. If anything, she was looking forward to exploring the other areas without Red Fever crawling into her brain and taking over, even if that wasn't the intention of this adventure.

The other individual spoke rather similarly to another friend that Sol had in the game, and she broke away from her concentration on the crowd for a moment when she realized they were introducing themselves, opening her mouth to formulate a quick reply before another voice caught her attention, turning back towards the crowd once more as @Frey Elzeiros approached. She quickly switches her brain into greeting mode for him until he enters her space and plants a kiss on the back of her head, body freezing in place.

She seems to clock out of the entire situation, her cheeks flushing red as she buffers back into being. That was not the way she had been expecting him to greet her, in her embarrassment completely missing the way he had also greeted the rest of them rather affectionately. She squeezes her eyes shut and gives herself a small shake, before turning to the rest of them once more, lips drawn into a firm line but unable to get rid of the left over pink on her face.

"My name is Sol, thanks again for offering to help out with this. I'm looking forward to getting this done quickly and efficiently," she says with a nod to the two of them, giving a small sigh towards Frey at his general demeanor, "And sorry about him, he tends to be like this regardless of the situation." Although she was seemingly apologizing for his behaviour she didn't seem one bit bothered by it herself, fighting a small smile that rose to her lips as she turns her attention towards the map in her hands.

"If we're all ready, lets get going. I have the way here mapped out for us so we should have no problem finding where to go, especially if you already know the way," she directs this comment at @Kyra Vashtana, cocking her head to the side in the general direction of the slimodiles. Looking over at @Askera Question, she nodds, "And if you have any tips for us, please, speak up."

And then she turns quickly, heading in the direction they were supposed to go without looking much back at the rest, expecting for them to quickly follow after her now that they were all arrived.

She smiled as the two men introduced themselves, both appearing friendly enough. They were definitely differnent from her usual companions - similarities present, but definitely a different feel to them - but she felt that they were welcoming enough in their own way. This was definitely a group she felt she could get comfortable around, given enough time.

The movements of each of them bespoke of more experienced players, individuals who had been around the game for a while now. Good. Means no one's going to take any sort of silly risks just for show. Speaking of which...I still need to scold Zel for that, once we get back. She shook her head as a smile split across her face, before turning her attention back. The redhaired girl had already taken the leadership role in Kyra's mind, and she listened intently as the girl - Sol, she had said? - explained their plan a bit.

"Err...well, yeah I think I can guide us a bit...although last time I kind of just...followed. But I think I can remember most of the way! Most of..."

Her eyes flitted between the trio around her, before she hopped to her feet. She was determined to prove her worth here, hoping that she could finally be useful. Her scythe clattered against her hip softly, the chain jingling as it bounced where it was hooked.

Skipping ahead, Kyra began down the pathway towards where she had last encountered the slimeodile creature, pausing just long enough to make sure the others were following. Her ears twitched atop her head as her tail swayed back and forth behind her, the excitement already brimming inside her at the thought of another adventure beyond the safety of the camp.

"Well, come on you lot! The slimeodile isn't going to wait for us forever! Although, if we wait long enough maybe we can catch it while it's asleep."

A quick wink towards the trio before she turned and skipped off again, bouncing down the path in a gleeful manner.

Nervous

Not much of a response had come from the man hidden behind the ticking helmet. He'd gone quiet when their fourth had arrived-he knew this face, for it was one that was part of a picture-frame that hung his first death on the wall in the back of his mind. It seemed that he didn't recognize Askera in turn. Perhaps it was because of the helmet, or because he had worn different clothes today.

Either way, he decided not to speak. If @Frey Elzeiros recognized him, he might end up feeling guilt over what had happened. Askera didn't want to put something like that onto a co-worker. Naturally, then, it was best to keep silent and allow his helm to do the legwork for navigation through the swamp.

He followed behind Kyra's footfalls. By his side was a walking piece of fluid steel, an almost life-like statue that stood protectively by his side. It was another reason the researcher had come out here, the desire to test the new design of the 'Fool' model he had made. It moved with the grace of something that could think more than a hunk of metal should have been able to.

Hopefully they would find it helpful in the event that he wasn't needed to navigate through the swamp. He didn't want to feel like dead-weight, after all.
