The Sweet Deer
Afternoon
Sunny and Windy

It was a sunny and crowded afternoon at the Sweet Deer, a tavern that received its name after its tavernkeeper, a deer beastfolk, that despite her calmness on her expressions and smoothness on movements that at first glance didn't seem hurried, had to dart around the tavern to attend to the eager travelers.

A festival, or at least the slow build up to the start of one, was running outside the village, which had caught the attention of many that decided to stay by Honeyhome, one of the few peaceful towns that remained in the world that was filled with chaos.

It surprised Magnolia to see that scene, as she pushed the door open to see what was usually the most peaceful tavern she had been on, to be turned into a rather crowded party, with lively outsiders clanking their tankards together, and even a bard making sure the place would have a lively ambience, strumming his hands on an harp while he sang happily along with the others.

Magnolia turned around, tugging her cloak that hid most of her maid uniform, that she always kept on her even when she was out of duty.

Carefully, she searched for a free spot- With most of the tables filled, and the counter crowded by rowdy people, she soon found herself forced to approach a table that was partially empty, saving for one seat, that @eden was sat on. "Excuse me, madam." Magnolia tried to catch her attention, keeping an arm's length away from the table, not daring to be too bold. "Is it fine if I share this table with you? I'm afraid today is unexpectedly busy." Her voice bore no particular tone, not a hint of annoyance, nor it was amicable. It was just neutral, and polite.

She had to admit that this place was pretty cute. Falderen was pretty new area for her considering she'd only been playing in this game on and off over the last few days. Still, Eden found herself liking quite a bit about this little location. It was lively and the people were quite friendly. The shopping also wasn't too bad. She'd already found some cute lightweight armor and a nifty little dagger to carry around for pretty cheap.

When she settled herself into the tavern it wasn't near as busy as it had become over the past few minutes. To see this place coming to life so quickly must mean that the festival outside was getting started. That was the whole reason she came to Falderen today. She wanted to capture the experience of being among the npcs and other players as they celebrated something fun. It was part of the charm that drew her into the game from the beginning.

Eden raised the glass of mead to her lips and sipped on the warm liquid quietly. The fact that she could genuinely experience the flavors of the food here was impressive. It was a feature she would greatly enjoy as she played and indulged in the unique experience.

She looked up as a girl approached her table. She tilted her head as she took in her appearance. Was she a maid or something? She was cute for sure though. A soft smile crossed her lips when the request to take a seat at her table came out. So, she was going to have some company? Well, at least this girl was a lovely piece...

"Absolutely, please sit wherever you would like. Do you know anything about the festivities today?"

Magnolia sighed internally. Thankfully it was someone friendly, or else she wouldn't stay in there for too long, not wishing to be bothered by an ill company, and much less by the rowdy customers that were causing a havoc on the counter of the tavern.

With a polite bow, Magnolia made sure to voice her gratefulness: "You are too kind, madam. Thank you very much." Raising her posture again, she carefully tugged the chair to open space for her to sit on the opposite side of @eden, to respect her space.

The kindness of the stranger, however, extended with some charisma. The question had caught Magnolia slightly off guard, as she had been surprised by the festivities herself.

"My apologies, madam. I am from the capital, and these festivities are unknown to me."

Her eyes then trailed to her surroundings, trying to find some hint.

"Judging how many Starcalled are here, perhaps they are celebrating their success to capture a magia that had destroyed their old capital."

That was the only thing Magnolia could guess.

Eden looked at the cute maid as she spoke to her. A simple thanks was all she needed to confirm that her generous action was acknowledged. Though it threw her off when she watched the girl bow to her in thanks. She could feel her brain spinning at the realization that perhaps she was conversing with an NPC? Though, there was a life to her character that other figures in the game didn't seem to have...an AI?

"Of course. It is a simple request I can fulfill. I appreciate the company."

As the sweet maid spoke, Eden couldn't help but notice that her manners were quite high compared to what she had witnessed from the people of this town. It was like she was far more reserved and sophistocated than those she had met thus far. What was she doing in a tavern here?

Though her question was answered when she brought up the fact that she was from the capitol. Did her companion currently serve a noble or something? What an interesting encounter to have in Falderen.

"Well I supposed that makes sense. I did hear about a very intense war that came to a close recently. Though please, call me Eden. I am not worthy of such titles." She sipped on her mead as she looked at the lovely girl across from her.

To be honest, the only people who needed to call her such a thing were the staff that worked in her family's mansions. That wasn't the case here in TS. She merely wanted to be treated like a normal human...or elf? Either way...a common person.

Judging from what the woman had said, it didn't seem she was around when everything had happened. So either she was offline for a while, or she had just joined Terrasphere recently. Magnolia took note of that information in the back of her mind, but at the same time, she didn't intend to be nosy about it, all she needed was a bit of peace, especially when she was finally having some time away from work.

"Understood, Ms. Eden. It is..." She paused, realizing a mistake, one that was so silly. To think she had forgotten it, perhaps her mind was indeed too crowded.

"My deepest apologies, asking for a favor from you, and yet, failing to introduce myself." Bowing her head apologetically, she rested a hand over her chest while the other gently tugged away the hood over her head, letting her hair free. "My name is Magnolia. It is a pleasure to meet you, Eden." Her eyes then locked on @eden's, shaking her head briefly.

"I do think you are worthy of respectful titles, with such a kind and warm welcoming. But I understand it may make you feel uncomfortable." Her hands then pressed together, and she offered:

"As a thanks, why don't we drink and eat something together. It is on me."

Her companion was exceptionally polite even after her request to be more informal. She couldn't blame the young woman though. It was clearly part of her training as a person inservice to a powerful master within the Capitol. Eden had to admit that she admired the dedication. She smiled softly and finished off her drink as she introduced herself.

Magnolia. It was a lovely name. It certainly matched the large white blooms often found in the Southern US from her experience. They were quite vibrant as well, beautiful pinks and creams with distinct yellow centers. Eye-catching and edible. She sat her empty mug down.

"The pleasure is all mine, Ms. Magnolia."

The offer for drinks and a meal was not one she expected. Honestly, Eden often found herself being the one to treat her companions. So, for the maid to offer such a kindness made her smile and honestly, it was hard to refuse. Though she did intend to keep her selection simple since she wasn't going to go out of her way and make Magnolia spend too much on her.

"I would love that. Thank you so much. Just another glass of mead and some of the fried sweet potatoes sound wonderful. Have you had the opportunity to check out the festivities yet?"

"Of course, Eden." She nodded.

The request was quite reserved, and while Magnolia wished the woman to not feel the need to hold back, the thoughtfulness was appreciated. She gestured and called for two glasses of mead, and the portion of fried sweet potatoes as well. The size of her order made it clear she would also enjoy their meal, and as they waited for the order to come, she focused on @eden's question.

"Not yet, unfortunately." She shook her head. "I've just come to this town, and it seems these festivities didn't reach the capital yet." Magnolia admitted.

After a moment, their glass of mead was delivered, though their portion of sweet potatoes still had to wait a bit longer.

"... Perhaps I could take a time to enjoy it. I am already here, after all." Magnolia took the glass with a hand, brushing her hair to behind her ear with her other hand and letting out a question before she went for a sip: "How about you, if you don't mind me asking?"

The tavern's staff were always quick on their feet to keep the drinks flowing. It was something that Eden found quite interesting in comparison to the drink of her normal reality. The quality of the drinks were so different and so was the atmosphere at times. Sitting in The Sweet Deer on even a lively day like today felt far more calming than any club in LA or even Seoul. She could not describe it, but she definitely preferred the way TS made her feel in comparison.

She felt so much more free.

Quietly she sipped on the fresh glass of mead and watched Magnolia. She was certainly a sweet young woman. There was actually a life to her character that not all of the other landers seemed to exude to her. She nodded in understanding as her comment about the festivities still not quite making it to the capitol. Honestly, from what little she knew about the Magia conflict it seemed like it was a pretty difficult battle. It was no surprise to her at the level of time it would take for the whole region to fully process everything.

"I see. I'm sure when it does that the celebrations will be even more intense than here."

She smiled softly.

"I also have not yet taken the chance to explore the festivities. I would be more than happy to tag along with you, if you're willing to allow it. It seems like things will be very fun today."

"One would think that..." Magnolia agreed with @eden's words at first, but then she added: "But truth be told: The capital wouldn't be pleased to partake on Starcalled festivities."

Her eyes turned to scan the surroundings. "In fact... They may not even be pleased that one of the villages under their domain are partaking on it. But Honeyhome in particular has always been very welcoming of Starcalled, so it is only natural that this would happen." She explained.

"Of course I would allow it." Magnolia nodded. "It would be a pleasure to have you as a company. I will make sure to guide you well." She ensured, sipping her mead, and turning her head to face the waiter that appeared with their portion of fried sweet potatoes, that had some herbs sprinkled over it along with some spices that made its scent even more pleasing.

Magnolia waited for Eden to take some for herself first, before reaching to try one and sip her mead once again.

(Let me know if you want to time skip or anything)

Eden's curiousity peeked at the mention of the capital being against festivities to celebrate the Starcalled. Truth be told she did have some idea of the recent events that had taken place concerning the war with Machina and the destruction of so much that many Landers and Starcalled held dear. Slowly nodding her head as Magnolia spoke.

She wondered what the girl's experience with the Starcalled was like given her willingness to be celebrating them. Though she could only imagine what it must be like to constantly have individuals from a world beyond your own coming here on the regular and causing issues. Though TS was a place to Eden to relax and enjoy herself for many others it was the only world the knew....she smiled softly and picked up one the fries to snack on.

"It makes sense given everything that has happened.....still it's kinda sad that so many can't enjoy something like this on account of who it celebrates. Everyone probably needs to have something positive right now after it's all said and done."

The elf tilted her head and grinned at the acceptance of her invitation to check things out. Magnolia was certainly a sweet girl and gaining a new companion within the game would defintely be good for her, even if it was just to sit around and gossip while drinking meade. Still the atmosphere of the tavern was relaxing even as it was starting to fill up with more patrons than the seating seemed to accomodate. The afternoon rush was nearing its peak from what she guessed.

"Shall we finish up and head out then? I would love to check out the games and see what kind of challenges there might be."

(I am honestly down for anything lol. Sorry it took so long to reply though! School has been killing me. We can probably do a pretty simple transition with a small time skip from here if you would like.)

"Truly... But the best we can do is to try to be as positive as possible." Magnolia declared to @eden. Those words may have not sounded too convincing coming from someone that had no expression or tone in her voice, but in the end, that was something that the cold heart of the maid still thought that had a hint of truth in it.

"Of course, Ms. Eden. Let's head out as soon as we are done..."

...

Honeyhome
Afternoon
Sunny and Windy

The sweet scent of Honeyhome was even more charming during the festival that made it livelier than it already was. Music beamed from the bards that brought harmony to the festival, and the stalls with challenges and foods chained with one another, creating a long line of fun things to do.

Ranging from stalls that challenged raw strength like power lifting ones, to others that dared how nimble you could be with target 'shooting' or dancing to bring as many cheers as you could. However, it wasn't only challenges that existed in there. Other attractions existed like a men that swiftly made art of those that decided to pose for him, and a lady that eerily told clues about one's fate.

Magnolia watched the stalls with a curiosity that was locked behind her deadpan face, and she didn't make a move toward any particular spot, casting a glance to see what caught the fancy of her companion. "Are you going to join one of them, or do you wish to watch only, Ms. Eden?"
