Regret. The only thing she could admit to, lately. Regret. For everything she'd said to Luthien, for everything she'd done - even if she'd done it for reasons she considered right. She'd spent hours considering it all, trying to figure out what she'd done wrong, where she'd gone wrong. Hours, and always coming back to the same answer, the same depressing fact.

It had taken everything she had to start writing the letter, to put it on paper and acknowledge everything. She'd finally finished it, when it occurred to her that there was no way that Luthien would accept it, no way that she had to even get it to her. Another few hours, she'd spent, considering how she could possibly get it to her, how she could mend things.

The answer had been something she'd never expected, but as she saw the poster, she realised what needed to be done. Her one chance to speak with Luthien again, to attempt to fix it all.

Dear Luthien

May this letter find you well. I require your assistance with an odd problem, and I was hoping that you would be willing to attend the Protean Farm in Solvale.

I understand that this request may come as a surprise, but this is the only way that I have found to reach out to you. Hopefully you will find this request amicable, and arrive in kind.

I require your presence in two days time from the receipt of this letter, and look forward to seeing you!

Signed;
A Desperate Individual in need of help.

She wasn't pleased with the letter. It felt poorly written, and unlike anything a professional business would send out. Which...as she considered it, would a farm know how to properly write? Maybe it's perfectly imperfect...? Gods I hope this works...

She folded up the letter, before making her way out into the main area of town. It didn't take long to locate a local mail courier, managing to convince them to drop the letter off after finding out where the Elf was staying - a job she hoped that the courier was up to doing. With nothing holding her there any further, she made her way out of the city and towards Solvale.

The farm was about what Kyra had expected. It smelled like a farm. Her nose scrunched in response to the scent, her position seated on the fence providing her a good view of the road approaching the farm - but also forcing her closer to the animals that caused the smell. I just can't win...

She sighed as she gave in. She was here now, and she was determined to see this through. No matter how horrid the area smelled, no matter how much it affected her.

"Oh, hey Lúth, you got mail today!"
"Mail…?"
"Yup! Devon left it here two days ago while doing his rounds."

She had just stepped into the reception area of The Little Hunter’s Inn after a quick visit to the Finest Flour, the elf deciding to restock some goods after having spent the last couple of days away from TerraSphere in its entirety. Arth had called out to her then with an excited look on his face, the young pre-teen lander currently manning the desk to help his parents with the inn. The letter in question was waved in the air by the dark-haired boy, his green eyes staring intently at the elf as she approached.

"Alright, let’s take a peek at it then."
"Where were you?"
"Mmm? Over at the bakery—"
"Not now, I can smell that... I meant the past few days."

Lúthien had just pried the side of the letter open to pull the contents from within, pausing to give the felis boy a raised eyebrow, finally noticing the folded black ears and concerned look on the kid’s face. "I was just busy with Starcalled Realm stuff, y’know boring grownup responsibilities and whatnot." A faint smile tugged at her lips before a hand reached over to pat the boy atop his head, watching the long tail flicker behind him even as a faint purr echoed on the felis’ throat.

"Protean Farm... what the fuck?"
"Oh, that’s the farm that raises the super juicy chickens and turkeys!"
"’course you’d know, you little bottomless pit~"

The young felis stuck his tongue out in response to the elf’s teasing, crossing his arms over his chest as he pretended to be offended, though that act quickly flew out the window when the ranger apparated a honey biscuit from her UI inventory. "Didn’t think I’d forget about you, right?" A chuckle escaped her when she saw the wide green eyes on the boy’s face. The treat was handed over to the excited boy before giving him a wave as the blonde headed back out—it was still early in the day so hopefully she wouldn’t be too lote for whatever the fuck she’d been summoned for.

Part of her heavily considered passing by the League’s HQ first just to double check it wasn’t Beleg being an ass, though she reconsidered that option upon realizing that would just give the man the opportunity to trap her in whatever new package delivery he had lying around in wait just for the ranger.

~ ~

"Why on earth would they send me a letter though, I’m not part of the guild for personal requests… and why me anyways, I’ve never even been to this place before—!"

She had been mulling over the odd letter on her way to the farm, reading over the contents again and again as the blonde tried to make heads and tails as to why someone in a poultry farm would write to her directly about a request. Had she been part of the Adventurers Guild then Lúthien wouldn’t have found it as odd, or perhaps if it had at least been geared towards something more aligned with the League’s exploration and usual missions.

Instead the letter only asked for her prompt assistance without going into details regarding their request, something that only caused further confusion as the archer furrowed her brows in thought. The pungent smell of the farm suddenly assaulted her sensitive nose, causing the elf to grimace as she looked up, before spotting a familiar purple-haired figure seated on the fence belonging to the farm.

"Oh, of course it’s you..."

And suddenly, just like that, everything fell into place as the missing piece of the puzzle was presented.

She'd leaned forward ever so slightly on the railing as she heard the footsteps approaching. A few seconds later Lúthien had strolled into sight, coming to a dead stop as she spotted Kyra sitting on the railing. The words that came from the Elf were about what Kyra expected - although the lack of anger took Kyra slightly by surprise.

She could see the pause in Lúthien's movements, the partial twist as if she was considering leaving. Hopping down from the railing, she spread her arms to either side.

"Hi. Uhm, so as you figured out I sent you that letter. Which - it's not entirely fraud cause the farm does need help. But...I just wanted to apologise. I was wrong, and shouldn't have done what I did. I'm sorry."

It was far easier to admit than she had expected. Everyone always talked about how hard it was to admit one's faults, how hard it was to own up to them, and yet Kyra found it simple. Almost relieving, in a way. Not that anything was resolved yet, she still had to wait and see what Lúthien said; whether she stayed and screamed, talked, or simply left...Kyra had no idea what to expect.

The elf had half a mind to just turn around right there and then, let her footsteps take her back to Finweald and away from the smaller vixen, but before the blonde could fully pivot Kyra was already on the move. She hopped down from her perch atop the fence, her arms spread out to either side as if to show that she was harmless as the woman spoke. At first she tried to excuse ehr presence and the letter, causing the ranger to fold her arms across her chest in response, until finally the purple fox got to the root of the matter.

”... I just wanted to apologize. I was wrong, and shouldn't have done what I did. I'm sorry."

An exasperated sigh, long and audible, left the archer a few moments after Kyra had said her piece. Crimson eyes had stared at the beastfolk intently, studying her movements and any twitch in her facial features even as she could hear the vulpes' breathing and heartbeat. Nothing seemed to indicate that her words were not earnest and truthful, and after a few moments Lúthien’s arms unfolded as a hand rose to rub the back of her neck.

"Fine… just don’t fucking do that again, Kyra." Her other hand rested on her hip now, a light frown still on the blonde’s features—though the fact she hadn’t outright left was probably a good sign for the vixen. "Right, so what’s this business at the Protean Farm about?"

There was still a lingering discomfort between them, the ranger opting to go a more professional approach as she entered work mode with the request at hand… she still wasn’t sure what to make of, or how to interact, with Kyra in a personal level—once bitten, twice shy and all that crap.

Well, she wasn't immediately sworn at, or shot. To Kyra, that seemed like a win already. The topic was fairly immediately dismissed, however, as Lúthien turned to the farm behind her. Kyra's eyes shifted around, looking at the birds that seemed to roam the field outside of the barn, most of them looking rather...well, like turkeys.

"Ah. The farm. Right. Uhm...so apparently a bunch of the cobra chick-err...turkeys are...depressed?...and the farmer's looking for help cheering them up. Something about happier turkeys means better meat, or...well, I didn't really understand half of it. The point was, they want the turkeys cheered up, and need help doing it."

The farmer had been fairly talkative, when Kyra had first arrived. He'd explained in detail everything they had tried, from tickling the creatures to providing them their favourite snacks - even going so far as to hold a stand-up comedy night for the animals. Supposedly, none of it had worked.

"They've uh...reached out for support in the hopes that someone might have an idea as to what's wrong with them, and maybe have some sort of concept of what to do to help them."

Kyra gave a shrug as she looked back at Lúthien, trying to figure out exactly where they stood. The girl was still clearly standoffish, even though she had...not quite accepted the apology, but forgone any sort of negative attitude. Steps. Just...take it in steps.

"I took a quick look around when I got here...five hours ago...I couldn't see anything that immediately stood out as a problem environmentally. They seem well-taken care of, no obvious signs of abuse or improper provisions. They're fed regularly, have good shelter, seem healthy enough...but, yeah...clearly not happy."

She pointed to a collection of the birds that seemed to simply be collapsed against the far fence - unmoving, almost appearing as if they were wasting away in the bright sunlight. Kyra had first seen them there about three hours ago, and none of them had moved since then.

"That’s a lot of turkeys… Christ."

Her attention turned back to Kyra as the ranger’s ears caught an unexpected set of words in the mix—Did she just say cobra chicks?—before the elf decided to simply let the matter slide… not exactly sure if she was willing to hear, or believe, whatever that could be about.

"Well, for starters, this whole place reeks... I think birds can smell like we do, right?" She remembered that birds couldn’t taste—or rather feel—spiciness the way they and other creatures could… but Lúthien didn’t remember ever reading or hearing anything about smell, so sure that worked business as usual for the turkeys too? "I’d be very depressed if the place I live in stank as much as this place does—did you just say five hours ago?!"

An astonished look crossed her elven features as Lúthien turned to look at Kyra like one would a trainwreck, before a hand reached up to pinch the bridge of her nose as the ranger took a moment to breathe and properly assimilate the information. Right, this is Kyra after all… perhaps I shouldn’t be so surprised. If anything the vixen had certainly proven she could be quite the unpredictable wildcard of the universe, and Lúthien was quickly learning to not have any concrete expectations whenever she was around the purple fox.

"Right, they might have a good shelter and be regularly fed, etcetera… but if it’s not getting cleaned out often enough it’s bound to bring the mood down, not to mention some could get sick."

And that was a lot of fucking turkeys that this farm was apparently raising...

She'd been nodding along at everything Lúthien had been saying, silently agreeing with the few observations she'd made. That was until she'd mentioned - in surprise, no less - about Kyra's arrival time. She felt her ears fold down towards her head in response to the rhetorical question.

She had almost responded to the question, almost pointed out that it had only been four hours, thirty-seven minutes since she arrived. She quickly realised that the comment likely wouldn't help the situation, even if it would be more accurate.

"Oh...uhm...yeah, I mean...turkeys' don't really...they kinda live like this. The smell and all. But yeah, a better, cleaner pen might help! I mean...it's going to be a lot of work to rake it all, and then to change out the bedding...and like...I mean I've got time, if you do?"

She glanced over the pen again, considering the amount of turkeys that were in the pen. She felt her tail slowly stand on tip, her lips curling back in a soft snarl as she remembered the last time she had dealt with the creatures.

"I guess first we should contain them...uhm...there's an indoor pen we can herd them into while we...while we get this one cleaned out. You just have to chase them in. I can close the door once they're all in!"

She glanced over at the indoor pen that was clearly the house for the turkeys, spotting the mechanism that would allow the rolling door to slide closed. It would be simple enough, if Luthien was up to it.

"I mean, just because they can live like this," A hand was swept over to the space that reeked of poultry droppings all the way out here, which was an achievement of its own considering they were on the open outdoors currently and a decent distance away from the area that served as the turkey’s coops for the night. "Doesn’t mean they're gonna be happy about it—and given the issues the farmers are having it seems that’s exactly the issues, these birds are probably both stressed and depressed.."

She wasn’t sure if TerraSphere celebrated Thanksgiving the way Americans did, otherwise she would’ve pinned that on as another issue—though she very much doubted the birds possessed the capacity to actually be aware of the date and what it meant for their kind. A nod was given when Kyra agreed with the plan of a cleaner area for the turkeys, her eyes glancing over the many creatures as she listened to the purple fox speak.

"Yeah, I think I can herd them back into the big barn that seems to be their night coop."

She took a moment to consider her options, before deciding to test one out on a whim. The elf took a deep breath before she closed her eyes, concentrating as she allowed the magic to flow and build up on her palms. Usually this particular mastery she would combine with her bow or the arrows… but today Lúthien felt like trying something different. The elf readied herself quietly, rubbing her gloved hands together softly, before slowly bringing them apart. There was a pause, perhaps a moment of hesitation, before the elf finally clapped them together as hard as she could.

Nothing.

She frowned in response, her eyes opening once more to gaze at both her hands as if they were culprits of something, before deciding to try once more. This time the clap produced a slightly louder than usual sound, startling a few of the nearby turkeys as they got up to their feet and rushed off towards safety—the barn. "Alright… third time’s a charm." With that simple whisper the girl closed her eyes once more, concentrating the Harmonic magic into her palms, before bringing them together with all the force she could muster into a single clap—

CRAAACKOOOW!

The thunderous sound that was produced startled even Lúthien, the elf visibly jumping in response, before a flurry of feathers and loud gobbling sounds echoed in response as the remaining turkeys all got to their feet and dashed off—most towards the barn, though a few stragglers began veering off into unwanted directions. "No, no, nonono! Barn, to the barn you silly birds!" She was quickly circling the pen to get a better angle, bringing her hand up to her mouth and closing it slightly to form a loose guide before her lips blew through it. It caused a gust of wind to erupt, the force enough to startle the fleeing turkeys as they changed their direction and also began heading for the barn.

By then the elf had hopped the fence, the quickest path currently available, and when the last turkey passed the barn’s threshold she quickly worked on closing the doors to trap all the birds within.

"Pheeew... okay, birds stored away—now to deal with the pen. Any ideas, Kyra?"

Scythe Mastery ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Spirit Magic ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Aeromancy ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Corrupt

The first clap caused her ears to fold over, the sound a surprise that was entirely unwanted to her enhanced hearing. The second, a slight growl erupted from her. The third - this one she had more than enough warning for - was far worse than anything she had expected. The squeal of terror and pain that erupted from her must have been lost in the noise, and it took her a few moments to recover, her hand naturally checking her ears for any signs of bleeding. Thankfully, her eardrums appeared intact, at least for now.

Ideas...uh, yeah I've got a few...sadly I don't have the magical capabilities for it...you wouldn't happen to have any sort of talents with hydromancy, would you? Could just...water away the area then.

She glanced at the side of the barn, noticing again the shovels and assorted tools that hung there, an obvious answer that she had been hoping to avoid. Sighing heavily, she moved over to the tools, picking up a couple of shovels and holding them out towards Lúthien, giving one a slight wiggle.

Otherwise we're look at this...and a lot of dirt. Which is oh so great for my new armour...

The final comment was made with a slight growl, as much annoyed at her own lack of planning as the situation. She should've brought a change of clothing, something more suited to working on the farm. She hadn't considered needing to get dirty, which...well, that was her fault and now she was going to have to live with it.

If you've got any better ideas, I'm open to it. Sadly I doubt my aeromancy is going to help much - can't really blow shite and dirt away...unless we summon a tornado here, which I think would cause other issues. Like a lack of barn and birds left over, issues...

Keen eyes hadn’t missed the way Kyra’s ears folded over the first time Lúthien attempted her clap, though the blonde chose to feign ignorance as she continued with her plan. Usually she wasn’t one to ignore if another was in discomfort, especially when it was caused by her own actions, but just this once… well, perhaps the blonde just hadn't managed to fully forgive the meddling fox just yet.

"Hydromancy? Yeah, it’s one of my starter masteries." A glance was given at a nearby watering trough set out for the turkeys to drink from, the elf holding an open palm in its direction before she allowed her magic to focus on the liquid within. "It’s pretty cool, not gonna lie."

A flick of her wrist had a large orb of water separate from the rest and hover in the air, before slow arm movements caused it to stretch out and dance in the air under Lúthien’s directions. The demonstration was short however, the liquid soon returned back to the trough before the elf turned to look at Kyra. "However that's not really gonna help us clean most of the stuff around here… it’s just gonna make the decaying straw and bird poor all around here soggy and heavy—and trust me on this, humid bird shit smells worse than dry bird shit." No, unfortunately for them the best course of action would be to rake up all the waste with the leftover tools by the barn, although the blonde wasn’t sure a shovel of all things was the best pick out of them.

"Yeah these will be good when we need to pile it all up onto the wheel cart after we rake it up," The offered shovel was taken before Lúthien allowed it to rest against the fence, ignored for the time being, before making her way towards the assorted tools and picking up two sturdy looking garden rakes from the bunch. "After all I’d be surprised if this place doesn’t have a composting area of its own, and this shit is usually prime composting material for farms."

It seems like someone had certainly spent a good amount of time on the gardening section of YouTube…

Kyra's hesitation seemed to drift away as the display of water-based magic occurred before her, forcing the concern, the careful behaviours, all of it to drift away. Her eyes opened in wonder as she watched the controlled water drift away from the trough, before being shaken back to reality.

The wince on her face as Lúthien set aside the shovel and confirmed what Kyra had been worried about, before grabbing a rake and a wheel cart, was barely covered up by the quickness to follow the other's direction. She hadn't helped on a farm in...well, decades now, but she remembered having to rake and shovel, and of all the things possible, it was her least favourite activity. This entire thing was your idea though...so suffer.

She scowled at the voice in her head, but couldn't argue with it. Instead, she turned to the work at hand, raking in silence for a few moments - an almost furious action as she seemed to work the ground with a vehemently possessive speed. When she did speak again, it was in a soft, slow voice that didn't match the continued aggression towards the ground.

Do...do you think you could teach me?

Her tail had begun to sway in an almost identically fast speed to her raking, a small gust of wind coming from it as she stared at the ground in front of her. Her face seemed to shine even in the sunlight, flushed from embarrassment.

The change in Kyra wasn’t missed by her elven eyes, an eyebrow silently arching high in the air though Lúthien decided to not comment on the matter. She wasn’t sure why exactly the vulpes seemed so fixated on the small display, like a child staring in wonder at a magic trick, before finally snapping back to reality when the water was returned to its proper place.

"I know, I don’t like it either, but it’s gotta be done."

Keen eyes caught the wince on the fox’s features, though the elf was thankful that the smaller woman didn’t seem to have an objection to Lúthien’s suggested method of sprucing up the place. With that decision made both girls began to work on different areas of the pen, though the furious way that Kyra raked hersection had the archer looking over on more than one occasion. It was during one of those glances that the ranger suddenly noticed the shift in the woman’s demeanor, stopping her own raking then as she properly looked over the vixen.

"Everything good?"
”Do...do you think you could teach me?”
"Teach you what?"

It took a few moments for the blonde’s mind to connect the dots together, watching the way Kyra’s tail wagged to the point that it kicked up small gusts of winds around the purple fox, before finally seeming to catch on as a small ‘o’ shape formed on Lúthien’s lips.

"You mean hydromancy…?"

The moment that the Lúthien mentioned the mastery, Kyra dropped the rake, moving towards the elf with her hands held up in front of her in excitement. Her tail had picked up speed behind her, the small bursts of wind becoming something a bit more powerful, pushing along small piles of dirt and guck that had been pulled together, undoing a small portion of the work Kyra had done over the last few moments.

Yeah! I mean...yeah...hydromancy...it...I saw it used somewhere else, and it looked interesting, but the user refused to acknowledge...well, me...which I mean I can understand sometimes, but it was really rude I was just trying to get an introductory to it but they went and did the whole, 'oh I don't have time for that you peasant I have things to do and places to be and people to...do', or whatever...but anyways they wouldn't teach me anything! I mean can you believe that?!

She paused to take a breath, the excitement coursing through her body visible as she bounced on the tips of her feet. She'd almost entirely forgotten the original reason that she had asked Lúthien here, the hesitation that she'd shown around the girl in the beginning entirely gone as the topic of new magic arouse.

It doesn't have to be anything too complex! I just need a bit of a pointer on how to start the magical summoning...or initiation, rather...just something that can get me started! I can basically teach myself the rest. Like I did with Aeromancy.

"Sure…?"

Lúthien wasn’t exactly sure why Kyra seemed so excited to learn Hydromancy—not that the mastery wasn’t cool, it’s versatility and usefulness had been the reason the ranger picked it up in the first place—but at least the vixen’s interest seemed genuine if the way her tail was wagging up a literal storm was any indication.

"Fine, I’ll show you what I can do with it," She was careful to not use the word ‘teach’ considering Lúthien herself wasn’t even sure she could be considered a proper teacher for this, and she wasn’t exactly confident in her teaching skills either. "But after we finish cleaning this place up… and you just messed up that pile you’d been gathering up over there, Kyra."

One index finger pointed to said disaster, caused by the gust of winds the vulpes’ tail had generated moments before, before a light chuckle escaped the elf.

"Come on, if we focus I bet we can get this done in record time."

Scythe Mastery ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Spirit Magic ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Aeromancy ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Corrupt

Her excitement slowly drifted away, her tail drooping behind her in an almost depressing way as Lúthien scolded her for the mess she'd made. Kyra's only saving grace was the fact that she'd promised to introduce her to the magical abilities once they had cleaned up, entirely.

Clean up first...right. Alright, let's get this done with...

She turned back to the mess around them, rake in hand as she looked over the piles that she'd knocked over. She began raking again, her focus entirely on the dirt around them as she moved in an almost fervent manner, trying to push through as quickly as she could. Would be great if there was some way to just...magic this all away. Too bad it's too heavy to blow away, and water's not going to work...fire probably would be a bad idea too...and spirit magic isn't really going to help here...

All these magical abilities, and we're still stuck doing this all by hand...seems kind of...funny, doesn't it?

She didn't look up from her work, speaking even as she tore into the ground around them, careful not to damage the actual dirt beneath the...well, dirt. She moved carefully, pulling her piles towards the edge of the pen, before moving on to the next area. Rake, rinse, repeat... She giggled at the thought, keeping it to herself rather than speaking it aloud. Going to be nice to be done this...hydromancy aside, how do people do this for a living?

She couldn’t help the faint chuckle that escaped as she watched the vixen’s tail and ears droop in response to her words, the older woman resembling the personality of a small child now who’d just been told to clean their room if they wanted access to video games later. Hard to believe this was the same purple haired player that had upset the elf so much just a few days prior, though then again the blonde was quickly realizing she didn’t know that much about the woman to truly understand who Kyra was or what was normal behavior for her.

"Hey sometimes you can’t cut corners in life," At least the promise of seeing how Lúthien controlled her hydromancy was enough to spur the beastfolk into a cleaning fervor, though it was clear the vixen wasn’t enjoying manual labor in the slightest. "I’m sure there must be a mastery out there that could make this easier, but since we don’t have it all we can do it just do it the good ol’ fashion way."

It wasn’t like the ranger couldn’t understand where Kyra was coming from, on more than one occasion she had wished her IRL self had access to some of her magical capabilities—aeromancy and hydromancy could both be quite useful outside of combat scenarios. However nothing would come from lamenting the hand they’d been dealt, in game or out, and so the elf focused on doing a good job and getting through this task to the best of their abilities.

Yes, mother...

Kyra growled the words beneath her breath, but had no doubts that the elf would hear her - not that she was overly worried. She doubted her frustration with the task at hand was well hidden, nor did she care to hide it. It was ucky, and she didn't like it in the slightest. And it was your decision...so stop whining and just get it done.

How do people willingly do this, all day, every day...new respect for farmers here. I would not, absolutely not ever, want this to be my day job. Like, hells, this is brutal. I think I got a blister already.

She hissed at her hand, an almost cat-like reaction that was well outside her norm. The heavy sigh that followed was stopped only by the realisation that they were only about halfway done - which meant that she was still a good deal away from her goal.

Stupid turkeys...someone should teach them to shit in like, a box or something...

She paused as she considered the possibility of doing just that, before shaking her head. She'd heard that the things were entirely too stupid for well...anything beyond being food, really. Besides, if you think that this is frustrating, think about trying to train an animal to use a box...no thanks.

”Yes, mother...”
"Don’t get cheeky with me, you chose this activity Kyra."

A faint chuckle left the archer, the sound letting the vixen know that she wasn’t upset—at least not for the time being—with the older woman as they went about cleaning up the turkey pen. "That said they really let this go a bit too much... I wonder if something’s going on with the farm?" Hopefully they weren’t this careless all the time and this was just a one-of type of scenario, otherwise the ranger was going to question how safe it might be to actually consume any of these turkeys.

"Granted this isn’t my preferred cup of tea for work," It’s not like she couldn’t understand Kyra’s frustration or where it came from, cleaning and tidying up was always a chore back home—and out ehre in a farm it was just ten times worse or more. "But if no one did it then people would flat out starve… and there are people, I think, that do enjoy this."

Her grandma actually liked to clean, something that had always baffled Valeria, and whenever the blonde had asked her why Nana had simply said that it relaxed her… that was a sentiment that she could never understand.

Kyra grumbled to herself for a few moments, before sighing heavily. She couldn't argue with Luthy on that - she had been the one to suggest this activity, although she'd had no idea that it would be this...physically demanding. Still your fault. Suffer.

I guess...although you're right, this has gone a bit...well, turkey's don't make this much of a mess normally. I wonder if the farmer's doing okay. I...didn't really speak to them when I got here - the daughter came out and said a few words, just to confirm, but no one else...

She continued raking even as she considered the implications of that sudden realisation. Is there something wrong with the farmer...? Should we go investigate it after we're done here? I mean if there's something limiting their abilities...they may need more help in the future...

Uh...just to confirm...this isn't something we want to do continuously, right? Like if there's something going on here that's limiting their ability to...work...we're gonna like, find someone else to help with it? Like local kids or something, right?

She shot a glance over at Luthy, waiting to see how the elf would react to her question. Kyra knew one thing for sure, she did not want to do this more than once. No matter what the reward may be, it wasn't worth repeating it over and over again.

"Who knows, honestly I wasn’t even aware of this place until that letter of yours brought me out here." A soft shrug of her shoulders accompanied her words as the blonde continued raking her portion of the pen, carefully making mounds of the organic waste material that would be easier to shovel onto the wheel cart later. "Hopefully nothing’s going on—that or they manage to figure out their shit soon."

It seemed the same thoughts echoed in the purple vixen’s mind, the concern on her face clear—though it wasn’t towards the owners of the farm or even the turkeys themselves. A soft chuckle left the elf at that realization, before Lúthien shook her head softly.

"Gods no, I’d fucking hope not." Sure this work might be useful and needed, but the elf hadn’t signed up to Terrasphere to play a Farmville simulator. "If it’s something major I guess it could become an issue for the Guild to figure out, but again that’s definitely not my problem at least."

She’d much rather play gopher to Beleg’s constant requirement of package deliveries to remote areas, most of which the elf hadn’t seen before, than be stuck day in and day out in this farm.
