Vulnerable
Of course she went towards a more 'hidden' place where the caenis that looked… Very much like the very excitable Haito gestured to. "Thank you. I am well, but the explosion scattered us all, so we need to wait for others…" Some time after she said that, Zelrius reached their place. He seemed signed, there was soot over him. But he was well. And alive. "Welcome back." Ilusa offered him this welcome.
"Mrrhr?" A confused feline sound escaped Ilusa as she noticed Jin's bar suddenly fill out. She blinked few times and even rubbed her eyes, but no, what she saw was true.
Somehow that man's health-bar filled again. Was it someone else who noticed him and raised him? But who could it be? How? Those questions littered her mind, even as she knew that she had not felt any magic that had resurrection flavour – but that might have been because of the distance.
She pondered on it, as she and Zelrious waited for rest of the party. She did not use any magic to fill their Health, not yet. There was no need to do so now, she had to conserve her energy after all. And then, as they waited, Ilusa started to clean herself up. Because Astor was so close and she wanted to show her best side to him.
The armour she had was easy to clean and somewhat dirt-resistant. She had to only pat the dirt to have it leave the enchanted fabric. It was so soft to touch, calming too. Beautiful and white, accenting her features while still being very useful armour of the robe type. Sadly, she could do nothing about the few tears in her clothes, at least she was lucky enough that few repairs would make it perfect again. That done, Ilusa instead focused on grooming her tail, ears and using her fingers as brush, in order to comb her hair.
There was nothing else she could do to make herself more presentable and she was satisfied with the result. Her tail swayed gently, her ears were perked up. She felt almost giddy right now. Because he was so very close right now.
Two figures approached, she recognised them easily.
"Welcome back." The felis said towards Jin and Seto, looking them over and noticing how each looked worse for the wear. Seto's shoes especially - they were horribly dirty and they even made a squelch sound as he came closer.
And then, they had to wait more… Two silhouettes appeared – one was known, the other not. It was yet another caenis, this one a very tall and muscular one.
Ilusa frowned, peering around as if trying to summon with her thoughts Jester and Haito. Those two were not in party. They were nowhere in sight. Their status was thus unknown.
"..Oh." She murmured softly, as the Haito-lookalike introduced themselves – herself. It seemed that they could no longer wait for Jester. It seemed that it was time.
At last.
Still, it was no reason to be mannerless.
"Greetings Haira. I am Ilusa and yes we've met Haito. He was a very energetic caenis." Ilusa did not grimace remembering how unburdened by the concept of 'personal space' he had been. It was a relief that his sister seemed much more reserved and well mannered. "I hope he will return too." She said gently.
"Hello." She nodded to the large caenis, her eyes spotting a somewhat distressed expression on the Haira's face. It soon disappeared under the hood. It was understandable, from what the large man said. That place was no longer safe.
"…Yes, please lead the way." Ilusa murmured. Still, as she followed, she tried to send the caenis a reassuring, hopeful glance.
A jump down was not what she expected, but jump down she did, her robe fluttering as she did so. Even as a mage she could do that much. It was dork at first and she hurried to not have someone jump onto her from top. But then it was light – even if they could only see few meters around.
As they walked, she glanced at the ship – it was still so very out of place of the fantasy setting this world had before. She mentally counted where they went left or right, remembering the path in order to then reverse it. Just in case.
"…Grand Merchant's Hall?" She murmured, her eyes casting over somewhat familiar hall – and yet so different. A ruin repurposed to a habitat. The many sheets melded together into unusual and colourful result.
Her heartbeat increased.
And then suddenly, it felt as it stopped.. Before shifting into gallop.
Ba-thumpBa-thumpBa-thump!
Like an energetic bird in cage, her heart hammered in her ribcage.
At last. At last, at last, at last!
He was there, after years of no Terrasphere, after months of no sign of Astor once she returned he was there.
The familiar red eyes, the golden sheen of his blond hair, those features she dreamt and had nightmares about.
He was there, standing there.
Right there.
Ilusa lost control over her facial expression.
Her eyes shone, they teared up, glimmering with tears that did not fall. Her lips opened into a little 'o', her hands clenched over her chest, as if to grip her heart.
An avalanche of feelings gripped her – almost as intense as during the Red Fever, but also far more shifting.
There was a storm of them, but happiness and love were dominant.
Seconds that felt like an eternity passed and she drank in his sight ad lost herself in his eyes (eyes that softened when they landed on her). Her lips trembled, her tail and ears were still.
Normally, Nadia disliked being overtaken by emotions and losing rationality.
Now, now she cared not.
A soft whine escaped her.
He was here, he was there. Right before her. After so long, after the uncertainty, after everything. He was there.
Her hands trembled. And she smiled, tremblingly, oh so softly, so gently, so full of love. She felt like she was glowing with it, with the love and happiness at seeing him.
"A-astor." Her voice was soft, yet it trembled and next feline sounds escaped her.
"Astor!" And then, she ran towards him, almost as if to hug him – but she stopped herself, hovering before him, hvering over his wound. She should look ridiculous, but it was instead graceful and lovely. Healing magic gathered in her hands, the pale-gold light concentrating before she dais anything, before she even used her weapon, that was how attuned to magic she was, that was how great her need was. Soon the light moved onto the bracelet, which then detached and each 'pearl floated. Her eyes checked the bloodied side, touching gently the hand holding it, as if to gauge the damage. She spoke the chant: quickly, quietly, until it was a stream of sounds to everyone.
And then, a wave of divine magic enveloped him, healing, overhealing him, but Ilusa. Did. Not. Care.
And once she knew he was healed, she threw herself into his arms, as if to reassure herself that he was there, inhaling his scent, ignoring the scent of blood and cooked flesh, not caring how her clothes got dirty.
"Astor, Astor, Astor." She mumbled into his fabric, her body trembling and tears leaking into the fabric.
Ilusa was overwhelmed with the emotions, so so glad he was there. Her tail tried to wrap around him, she leaned into him, for moment ignoring everything else. The words he said, she treasured them, no matter what they were simply because he spoke them. Again she could hear his voice, could hold his warmth, could sense that he was here.
Ilusa nuzzled him and then stilled, just enjoying his warmth, drowning in happiness. And yet a sound akin to purring transmitted from her to him, such was her happiness. Thus she enjoyed this.
...Even if there was a mangled magia thing speaking weird things, with the buzzing that was really harsh on her ears. Sure, she heard it, sure she knew it was important. But later.
She needed just few more moments to assure herself that he was here. That he was in her hold, that she touched him, that he was here with her, that she felt his breath.
Few more moments passed. The few more moments she gave herself before bringing her attention partially away from Astor.
Staying comfortable where she was, she did shift so that her face could be visible.
"Jester mentioned about her team learning about the magitech egg, did she not?" It would have been so very useful to have her here to speak more about it. Were they attacked because they saw the egg (or the egg saw them) and enemies coveted the egg… Or was the egg a weak point of those machines that were not magia and thus they protected the egg from them, adventures?
"I think this.. Egg, might be in the second ping location…" Her hands tightened on Astor's clothes. How fruitions it was that their ping was his location. She was all for returning to camp, to sleep next to Astor, to simply bask more in his presence.
As Zelrius spoke of finding Jester… Ilusa frowned a little, pondering how to act. They had little idea where Jester could be. The Vinergard ruins were swarming with enemies. Escorting Astor back will be hard too, as enemies will surely swarm them too. A person trying to leave Vintergard on their own had easier time – just go towards the wall. Them trying to find one, without the ping? It was suicide when done on one's own.
…Ilusa was selfish, she wanted to go back to the camp.
"…We have no idea where she is." She said, looking bit sadly at Zelrius. Because if they knew where she was? That would be completely different thing. With Astor as additional firepower, they could go to her easily. But they did not know it.
