The thing that looked like Attia Patal glanced to her right, holding her head high.
@Hanno Futaba's gaze, which had been on her since she rose, finally averted and she took a few slow steps backward, merging a bit with the growing crowd of disoriented people who had initially been part of the little impromptu musical performance. She kept her eyes forward, taking meaningful steps and clenched her trembling hands. Ah... this body was such a good fit but there would have to be some
alterations before she was comfortable.
For now, it was time to observe, and catalogue, the kind of people in this place. There were many people in the world but these people had stepped up when the time came. These people were above the ordinary, and therefore people to be aware of.
There was the one called
@Jin, cold and rational, but there was something in his words that told her that he was egging them on. He was a bit honest, but that was fine. The thing liked him. She made a note of tracking him down after her escape.
@Ash Vargold was resolute, was that bloodlust or conviction?
The girl called
@Luthien seemed so convinced that they could get anything out Szofrit. Like it went without saying that she would be a fountain of knowledge. It was possible, but it was equally possible that the poor darling was nothing more than a wretched useless shell at this point. Still... she made a good distraction.
The thing continued to retreat through the groups, keeping her profile low as the arguing continued. Her eyes flicking towards Lune and her dismissal of needless heroism. Throwing themselves at this enemy just to save it was truly wasteful, especially with the consequences. Though the thing supposed it had been beneficial to it in its own way.
@Ueno Mizuki thrashed back with the threat of violence to protect her interests. Jin retorted with cold rationality, pressing buttons and twisting hearts. Oh. She liked him. She liked him very much. The little robot girl tried to make the victim's appeal and the creature that looked like Attia's lip twitched in disdain.
Finally
@Rael spoke up and one point was enough to drive home a stronger argument than the others combined. If Szofrit was able to tamper with the system, who's to say they
couldn't take that to their advantage. She liked that train of thought, good, very good. Ruthless pragmatism despite the outpouring of disgust the common person would have at seeing the vilified being survive.
Each and every one of them had their reasons, their concerns, their rationality for why they wanted things to turn out the way they did. Some were more noble than others. Regardless, there were little signs she took in, little notes, little thoughts. A list. Who she would seek out when this was over and who she would need to carefully deal with or avoid. Attia had been a fool to look only at herself, barely acknowledging the others as she kept her gaze on the landers. What was the opinon of Farmers and Kings before Gods?
Her smile grew wider as she reached the edge of the zone she was in. The noisy arguing continued. Her hands twitched again. Damn. She was weak right now and she couldn't make a scene. The thing that looked like Attia had to keep up appearances until she could properly disappear. There were far too many people here with a mentality that she could only describe as threatening. Sweat dripped down her temple.
Then Ash said something she couldn't forgive. The one's actually responsible. Her smile dipped into a frown. He was playing this game to
end it. That wouldn't do, not at all...
