The Refrain of the Machine God's one-sided slaughter rang out for the entire camp to hear, as Seigi felt a
disturbance. Dissonance beckoned Dissonance. Since her recent reunion with Magi, Seigi knew something had been off. Something she couldn't just fix from one moment to the next, but it didn't mean that she was ignorant, or stupid, of the matter. She had an intent and a plan...
Thus, as Magi's distinct flavor became, for just a moment, completely
dissonant sour upon Seigi's palette, the girl suddenly jumped up from her table.
"MAGI!" Seigi's outcry was answered by
@Luthien proclamation of pain and whistle, as Magi had been quite close. Magi was actually just a few tents away, as the two girls had been together before.
Nonetheless, Seigi was already on her way to the scene of the crime.
Her own dissonant voices being suspiciously silent.
"What happened?!"
Seigi was greeted by a crimson taint. It was horrible. Yet, despite the horrendous rending of flesh, her sole focus was on the girl that seemed to have gotten it the worst. Her puddle of blood, a mixture of crimson red and putrid black alike.
"MAGI!" Seigi called out as her body had already found its way beside her best friend. Under
more normal circumstances, Magi could have just been revived. She was already UI-locked, so what more bad would one more death too? But Seigi was too aware of what it would do with one's mind. And, while still eluding some details, had a very precise idea. She didn't spend those past four years just idly by...
Thankfully, as Seigi clutched Magi close to herself, she could still hear her breathing beneath her own tears. Could still feel her heart beating. Her body did not die. But her soul....
No.
Not yet, anyway!
Situations like those were exactly why Seigi had picked up some degree of healing arts, and while
@Yugam and
@Ash Vargold were attending to the wounds of the others. Seigi started to glow in a warm orange. Her own aura, encompassing that of Magi to, at the very least, mend her wounds to the best of her abilities. At least until
the professionals would arrive.
Yet, nonetheless. Seigi knew.
This wasn't enough.
This wouldn't be enough.
Her mind still lingered on the outburst from before.
Her eyes still lingered on the broken chassis in front of her.
She had an intent and a plan...
It was supposed to be slow and steady...
But now...
Too soon, much too soon.
Of course, Seigi could just dismiss it and pretend
nothing really happened. But that luxury was taken. So, instead...
"Hey, I know you're here."
No answer.
"You always are. "
Was she crazy?
"You know what I am thinking..."
Fufufu.... say it.
"You want a piece of me, more of me, right?... of us? So, if you can do it. Then do it. And we have a deal. Only if it works, of course..."
Silly girl, we can help, but we can not cure...
So let it be. For we are one, and one are we...
Seigi smiled at
@Magi Heart, her tears not stopping.
"It'll be okay..." It had to be. She was already carrying a bunch of burdens, what would a few more do?
"We will make it alright." With these words, Seigi tried to use a combination of her spirit magic, dissonant heritage, and Battle Spirits to take on a big chunk of Magi's corruption and make it into her own. Which evidently turned her very own, bright aura, somewhat tainted.
