Trying her best to figure this out, but don't worry about it.

Following the survivor of a bandit ambush from the Wicked's Rest tavern, where she also met up with old friends — @Kamala Graham and @Pete Simpson — and made new ones — @Leyna, @Elias Stryker, and @Samantha Yurei, Ayna found all six of them led just outside of Falderen's capital. She expected as much. Bandits were more common outside of cities, stinking up their camps after committing crimes. Now, Ayna wasn't the most rule-friendly Player around, but although freedom was her top priority, so was making money. Bandits were a great source of money. Well, their bounties were. Ayna never really attacked a camp without getting something in return. That would just be highway robbery.

Into a forested area they went, the trees taller than Leyna. As they went, their makeshift employer whispered under their breath to stay unnoticed. The camp would be further ahead, and there would more bandits than perhaps they could handle. Ayna just scoffed at that. She's faced much worse in Lyrwick, including thieves and scammers. What were bandits to mutated spiders, Ynglar morons, and the occasional wolf pack? Easy peasy, right?

"Deep breaths, everyone, but don't make any noise... We need to keep the element of surprise!"

She whispered under her breath, trying to give the others a sense of calm before the inevitable murder spree. Not surprisingly, Ayna was light on her feet. If you weren't staring at her, you could forget she was in this group. She might even be the sneakiest Player here. Bad news for the bandit, that is.

Scared but hopeful!

Ah, nature! Sweet, sweet outside world! To say that Kamala Graham preferred to be outside than inside would be a massive understatement. In the real world, she was always the same, having grown up frolicking in the natural beauty of Mumbai and all over her country of India. In this world, she carried over those same traits, values, and even aspirations. From an environmentalist, and a volunteer, to a community leader at her farm in Pormont, worlds may change, but Kamala will always remain the same.

Speaking of things that remain the same, @Ayna Nietzsche was her usual worried self, and Kamala felt she needed to take her down a notch. It was one thing to be a vigilant leader. It was another to unintentionally scare their new friends: @Leyna, @Elias Stryker, and @Samantha Yurei. Most of them seemed like they were new to the game, and Kamala did not want them to lose their wonder and zeal, their inspiration, to Ayna's more mechanical approach. Don't even get me started on @Pete Simpson's capitalist outlook.

"Don't worry, don't worry! We'll ALL be fine! Right, guys?"

As soon as she said that, however, she managed to step on a branch, making the most sound from the group. So far. Gritting her teeth, she awkwardly turned to Ayna with an apologetic, very embarrassed smile. Waat lag gayi! (translation) We're screwed!

Foreshadowing himself as the MVP of this thread.

@Ayna Nietzsche didn't have to tell Pete twice: He was an expert at making himself stay unseen, undetected, as if his existence didn't matter, a skill he had taken from the real world to this game one. It was a result of years of being ignored by his peers, girls to be more precise, and in this new place, he had adopted it to make sure he wouldn't get slapped or attacked by violent Beastfolk women. It's happened before. Pete didn't doubt it would happen again. It was just his luck, and it never seemed to change wherever he found himself.

Before he could answer @Kamala Graham with another vote of confidence, she did the unthinkable: She botched her Stealth check. Pete played tabletop roleplaying games in real life, so his references were also very nerdy if not just more of the same. He winced when he heard that cracking sound and held his breath. If they end up losing the element of surprise, they might end up losing more stuff. Like their lives. It's just a game, though, right? Right? Poop nuggets!

(He whispered to the rest of them.) "No...more...sudden moves, all right?"

Everything is taller than her. But some things are the perfect height for her see directly.

Her time resting in a tavern and trying to find someone to befriend has ended. While she enjoys the downtime, she can't turn down a lad in distress. It seems that the group she found herself in also have the same idea, albeit for different reasons, perhaps. Whatever it is, she's glad she won't be alone in aiding this stranger. Even though it's a virtual world, she made herself quite small and making herself look vulnerable. She would've lost a war of intimidation even before fighting with this. But fret not, there are the beastfolk girls. They're not high on intimidation scale, but their avatars sure are distracting — she couldn't help but glance at those occasionally.

It's fine right..?

There's also the pirate girl with an eyepatch. Deep down, she wanted to create avatars like those too. Be cool and free. And then there's the two boys. She's not sure what to make of them, yet. Nevertheless, she have set off with these group of people that she might call good friends in the future. Who knows.

Journeying further, it looked the mission is conducted outside the city and into the forest. With everything taller than her, she had to be on extra care. She doesn't want to be the weakest link in the group. She held her staff tight and readies for anything. Ayna seems to be leading the group when she told everyone to be silent. She would slow down and be cautious on the noises as she followed from behind. So far so good. Hopefully it lasts.

Was the eyepatch too much? 😩

Somewhat conscious with her appearance, Samantha lagged behind for some time as she followed the unlikely party, which apparently now includes her. She kept quite a distance from the others, notably from @Ayna Nietzsche, but made sure to keep her currently available an eye out and not lose track of their whereabouts. With them mostly just within her vision's periphery, she thoughtfully recalled her interaction with the intense(-ly hot) and vigorous(-ly sexy) Beastfolk back in the tavern as she made her way through the city streets.

She was clearly hitting on me, right? … Yeah. I guess this "hot piece of pirate yumminess" will be clam diving soon. Haha! I know what chest I will bury my face into...

Aaahh~!
A loud and elated whimpering moan broke her musings as she passed by a brothel along the way out of the city. The audible gasp of the hostess (or patron) that followed became Samantha's cue to pace her steps into a jog before she eventually caught up with the others.

"Hey, y'all! I forgot to introduce myself. Name's Sam, by the way. I'm-"

Sam called out as soon as she reached the party right before the forest tree line. She was slightly distracted getting Ayna's attention in particular that she did not immediately notice what they were doing. Fortunately for the group, she failed to do so, which made her pause and scoff in disbelief — cutting herself off from completely revealing their location to other attentive ears. She soon realized to follow suit when she began having a hard time monitoring her friends positions, taking Ayna's lead being stealthy but barely managed doing the task herself.

Well, hey, if it ain't broke...

Nervous but ready to learn!

Throughout the entire journey, Arman was silent. He did want to speak to the other members of this little party but he did not know how to approach them. Arman's the "talk to when spoken to" type of guy. However, he manages to keep himself distracted by observing his surroundings. Arman couldn't help but appreciate the game's spot-on graphics. Everything felt and looked so real. He should not be surprised by the game's accuracy but it was still a pleasure to the eyes. Especially since this was his first ever virtual game.

To think that people managed to develop this kind of game... Just how were they able to accomplish all this?

The longer he stayed logged in, the more questions pop into his head. If only he can get answers. Then again, even if he did have the opportunity, he might not have the courage to ask them.

Upon the discovery of the bandit camp, Arman would stick close to his party members. He gets low and tries to be as stealthy as possible. As this was his first ever mission in the world of Terrasphere, he felt nervous but also excited at the same time. Adrenaline filling his system.

"This is quite nerve wracking..."

Not wanting to fail his party, Arman does a good job in being quiet. He made sure to make careful steps and avoid making any loud sounds as he moves through the forest with the others. But when @Kamala Graham stepped on a branch and broke it, the tense knight's heart drops. He shoots a glance at her then back at the camp. Hoping that it wasn't enough for them to act.

Ayna gave everyone a thumbs-up for doing a job well done, including @Kamala Graham who almost cost them the all-important element of surprise. She was quickly over it when not a single bandit seemed to notice their presence. Well, one did, but his fellow watchman didn't believe him. Stupid idiots.

Chuckling to herself under her breath, not unlike that cartoon dog from the Wacky Races cartoons, which were cool by the way, she then started gesturing to the others. Except those were all random hand signs that meant nothing. Without even waiting for their response, Ayna just recklessly bolted out of their hiding spot, crashing into one of the watchmen who let out a yelp just as the Beastfolk let out her battle cry!

"LEEEEEEROY! JENKINS!"

The other watchman was quick to the draw as well and immediately shot at Ayna in close range with a crossbow, screaming about Steve who still owes him some money or whatever. Ayna was too focused on getting shot with a crossbow bolt in the shoulder, her vision getting hazy as she just stared at the ammunition embedded in her skin. Ayna has never been shot before. She has never been in a fight before. All this was strangely new to her. And yet... This. Is. EXHILARATING!!!

Oh gosh. There's blood. And more where that came from.

She just followed along behind the purple haired beast girl. She copied what she did and hid along. That's when she recklessly charged at the enemies first, which costed her an injury from a bolt. It striked as no sooner after she surprised them. However, the bandits still got the reflex to fire a shot that struck her.

Uh oh..

She didn't think this through. But she doesn't have any time to panic. Her new friend is out there injured and taking the front. It's up to her as a teammate to act accordingly. She firmly gripped her staff as she thought of what to do. She can't swing any sword or throw any hammer. Her staff is her only weapon. But it can cast. That's right. She can cast her skills!

Even though she just got that inspiration, she still hesitated for a bit. It's for the team! She revealed herself as she casted her blinding spell.

"Starry Gaze: Luminuous!"

Tiny starry motes of light appeared in front of one of the bandit before it flashes brightly and burns them with radiation.

"Finish them!"

-30 HP from two Bandit Scouts (doubled from Vulnerable)

After @Ayna Nietzsche lets out a war cry, Arman's attention quickly shifts over to the bandit camp where they proceed to take notice of the entire party. Shortly engaging them in combat. The Russian player gulps and started to feel afraid. His emotions quickly getting the best of him. But for some reason, there was this unknown source that was intervening. Said source lowered his feeling of pressure so that he would not feel so scared.

It's you isn't it?

Now feeling much more calm, Arman focuses on the ongoing battle. He sees the little elf ( @Leyna ) cast her spell which blinded the bandits. Then after hearing her callout, Arman nods and decides to take this opportunity to assist the party. Rushing into the scene and volunteering his body to hold the front.

"On it!"

From before, Arman looked like he was unarmed. It was suicide to just rush towards the enemies head on without a weapon. He did have a scabbard but it was still empty. When Arman stops at a certain distance, he reaches to the side. Taking a deep breath.

"All right. Let's see what you can do!"

Suddenly, this beautiful sword quickly appears in his hand. He makes a few swings with it, giving this impression that he had known how to use such a weapon for a long time. However, the truth is that it was all due to the weapon itself as it feeds him the knowledge of a swordsman.

With a battle cry of his own, Arman raises his sword and strikes the grown with it. His eyes shut closed as he channels his sword's bond, hoping for some miracle to happen. And as expected, his call for assistance was answered as a small portion of the camp is overshadowed by this large blue animated sword. The people within its vicinity are able to see it rest in the sky for just a moment before it starts crashing down. Eliminating a number of bandits. The impact shook the earth, creating this burst of wind shortly after.

"That... That was amazing! Just how did I- Oh no."

Arman celebrates too soon as he sees the Bandit Captain angrily rush towards him. Fully intending to kill him. When the distance was closed, Arman was struck several times by him. One slash after another, his armor and skin being decorated with several cuts. The pain started to overwhelm Arman but again, the unknown force stepped in and calmed him down.

"H-He's angry! I need some help here!"

Chrys heaved a sigh of relief when they maintained their stealthy advance. That relief was short-lived, however, because of @Ayna Nietzsche's sudden outburst. Reckless as usual! He screamed the thought in his head but made sure to stay calm in the presence of the others. The last thing he wanted was to cause alarm when stability and self-control were the most gravely required.

Unexpectedly, mostly for Chrys, the others seemed well suited to the art of war. Despite Ayna getting shot point blank in the shoulder by the remaining guard, she did manage to take out their partner with one blow. @Leyna was holding her own against the other watchman while @Elias Stryker impressively downed two other bandits with his sword. That's not something you see every day.

He extended a hand forward, and using his master of geomancy, willed jagged shards of the earth beneath his very feet to rise in the air, floating in front of him. Chrys then directed them towards the remaining watchman, the one Leyna had hindered with her majestic magic from the skies beyond. He could only imagine the pain experienced from being blasted by such heavenly bodies, luminous space rocks infused with the very power of the cosmos. Such magic will never stop being amazing to him. With a nod, he acknowledged Leyna's prowess, but before he could speak, he realized too late what was going on with the swordsman: He was getting curb stomped by the Big Bad. Oof.

-35 HP from Bandit Boss Retal

Samantha barely caught up with the group as they reached the threshold before the bandit camp. She was then convinced with the idea to further investigate the perimeter when Ayna gave the thumbs-up, that is, to have a plan of attack and/or figuring out where the best location for an engagement would be.

With this strategy in mind, she nodded to every gesture Ayna did, as if she understood everything (what a simp), and then looked at the others eagerly with a dumb smirk. This expression, however, was immediately replaced with a straight face as the reckless purple Beastfolk charged ahead without any regard to everyone else's safety. It didn't help that three more of her companions followed suit with the ambush. One. Two. Three. Four bandits were already unconscious in mere moments, with the last casualty having been burned half to death with intense light and then maimed with jagged earthen shards.

Ah, fuck it. Sam shrugged before joining the melee, just as the swordsman with the magical weapon called for help. Seeing a significant target that is the bandit boss/captain, she hastened her pace into a dash and proceeded with the imminent confrontation.

"Steal from the weak, taste my steel."

Sam unleashed a series of attacks with her heavy greatsword — each strike controlled to almost have the same momentum and precision with each successive hit — and traded blows with the bandit leader. The skirmish cost a hefty chunk of her stamina, but seeing her opponent near death's door encouraged her to continue the assault and stand her ground.

Kamala heaved a sigh of relief of her when she realized they had not been spotted despite her terrible effort at keeping herself hidden. Unfortunately, it was no long-term respite, however, because before she could whisper congratulations to everyone else, for a job well done on staying hidden, @Ayna Nietzsche had already thrown herself at one of the watchmen, killing them with one blow. Poop nuggets!

And then @Leyna and @Chrys took down the other guard together. And then @Elias Stryker brought down two of the other bandits with a blow of his own before getting mobbed by who seemed to be the leader of this flock. @Samantha Yurei helped fend off the massive man away from Elias but he remained standing, truly a leader of men, even though these were despicable men.

Kamala was in awe at the strength of her companions, but at that very moment, she realized she had two choices to make: Try to fight the remaining bandit and the boss OR make sure the others would not be impeded as they do just that for the good of the team. The choice was easier made than done, and Kamala called on her friends, the nature sprites, invisible to those with Nature Magic plus high Awareness, to help heal her other friends, the adventurers fighting beside her.

"Please help us, friends from the undergrowth!"

As Ayna took her sweet time just staring at the crossbow bolt embedded in her shoulder before taking it out with a grunt and a grimace, the rest of their party had taken care of the other bandits: Leyna and Chrys worked together to take out the second watchman, Elias singlehandedly took care of two bandits before he got attacked by the boss, and Samantha fended off the big man off their companion. Oh, and Kamala healed the others.

Everything was going according to plan. Ayna grinned as sweat started to descend from her brow, her blood flowing from her shoulder wound. She turned to it with gritted teeth before taking a piece of cloth, which she immediately wrapped over her red souvenir in an attempt to stop the bleeding.

But Ayna was not a doctor, so she also decided to take a moment just to regain her composure, pace her breathing, and try not to look like the world's biggest idiot for rushing in and getting shot point blank. She turned to Chrys and Leyna and gave them both a thumbs up, still grinning like an idiot.

"Thanks for the assist, guys! You're all doing great!"

"Who the fuck are you idiots?" The Bandit Boss was not amused, looking worse for wear than Ayna. He then did that thing where he put two fingers in his mouth and blew, making a sound that summoned another brigand from out of nowhere. That's called whistling, Ayna thought to herself as she was starting to feel light-headed. And the other guy came out of the bush. Probably back from peeing or pooping in the woods. "You're messing with the wrong people! Do you even know who we are?"

Ayna shook her head, stumbling on her feet, before placing both her hands on her hips and laughing out loud, the maniacal sound not normal for regular adventurers to make. Only murder hobos made that kind of laugh. Ayna pointed her bloody Calamity's Light at the boss, who was starting to look very ruggedly handsome to her right now, and started going on an incoherent tirade.

"Who the fuck cares who you guys are?! Do YOU know who WE are? We're Astra Alpha, bitch! And we're here to avenge your fucking victims...whatever that guy's name was. We're Astra Aeterna, and we're going to eat your butt! Astra Prima, Assemble!"

"Language!"

The word just slipped out of Kamala's lips, and she regretted it as soon as she heard them herself. Clearly, something appeared to be very wrong with @Ayna Nietzsche but she was a big girl. She could handle herself. She felt the same for the rest of their party, especially for @Chrys who didn't look like he even cared about the bandit's attacks, just shrugging them off like he wasn't human, but they were all new people, and to be honest, she didn't want their first foray into this whole adventuring thing, especially since Ayna dragged them all here, to be a dismal one.

Kamala stretched a hand towards the two bandits, one survivor from Elias' very impressive blow and a new challenger from wherever the heck he had been hiding. Almost immediately, green energy from her, specifically from the Seed of the Sapling Sprites from which greenish roots also appeared over Kamala's flesh, poured forth and surged towards the bandits, only to disappear beneath the ground not far from where she stood. Without any further ado, massive thorny vines erupted from the same ground and slapped the two bandits unconscious before circling back and wrapping themselves around Elias, Leyna, and Samantha, only to poof into more green energy that highlighted her chosen party mates, the ones she decided to protect.

Unfortunately for her, the bandits did not go down without a fight. Two knives were flung in her direction, and Kamala was too slow to protect herself, yelping in pain as the pair of cold steel pierced her right arm and left leg. A souvenir from those she harmed. It was karma, she knew it and accepted the trade, though it didn't make the pain hurt any less. Kamala fell to one knee, panting. She didn't want them to see her like this, weak and frail, but she could do nothing else about her current state.

"Sorry, guys... I shouldn't have just stood there..."

Hanging in there! Barely! (Protected!)

She was distracted with landing her attack and everything else moving around her. She was overwhelmed in the heat of battle but also excited to be finally doing something thrilling. She could rarely do anything of this scale in the real world. There are video games and whatnot, but they're not as immersive as this. This felt.. real. A virtual world to do whatever she want. She'll do some things she had never done before. Plus, they're not fighting real world creatures, so it's fine.. right?

While thinking to herself, an arrow shot into her right thigh. If her face could be any paler, it would. Everything around her felt insignificant. Everything felt slowed as she was distracted in the middle of a battle. That's what she get for doing what she's doing. Her whole body felt tingly. She's paralyzed from the shock. It didn't hurt, but the fact that an arrow hit her and stuck in her thigh. All of this happened in less than a second. Perceptions change upon tragedy. Her knees felt weak. She started to feel it. The arrow. It hurts. Every moment that passed, it hurts more and more. The warm blood of hers trickle down her legs. Everything around her becomes clear again. Right. She's in a battle. It's an injury. It hurts — but she can't back off.

Just as she was on the verge of panicking and calming herself down, @Kamala Graham came to lend a comforting hand. That's right. She's not here alone. She's with a party! With her paler than pale face, she creaked a frightened smile at her. That comforted herself a bit, and thus she focused more on the battle at hand. No more being distracted. Except she was.

Blood escaped from her face. Another arrow struck her at her side. But this time, it was caught by some vines that surrounded her, almost. It still hurts as it got through her skin. The vines only managed to hold it before it penetrates too deep. That's good enough for her. As long as she still can move!

"Wind Cut!"

She waved her staff at the remaining enemy as the reinforcement has been dealt with while she was thinking to herself — she should stop doing that amidst a battle. A slash of wind came out of her staff and attempts to cut anything in its path. Her aim utterly missed due to her current state. Physically hurt, mentally panicking.

Chrys heaved a sigh of disappointment when he heard what @Ayna Nietzsche was yelling out. Some of those names sounded cool to him, but they really needed to talk about these things first before she starts pulling other people in a dictatorship. That's just a dictator move. Yeah, I've got nothing else.

He tried to move closer toward @Kamala Graham to help her but instead got kicked in the face by the main bad guy. He didn't even expect to be anywhere close to him, but that's the chaos of a battlefield for you: Things just happen.

Staggering back, he tried to catch his breath, recovering some HP. Of everyone there, he was probably the thiccest, but he was still in his head just some out of water lawyer. Better and richer than everyone else, sure, but definitely not poor enough to be fighting others on a daily basis. Hopefully, @Elias Stryker or @Samantha Yurei could deal the finishing blow to the main bad guy soon, the only goddamned bandit remaining. God knows @Leyna already missed her attempt, so, yeah.
