Ru Ning sits listlessly beneath a tent set up for the expedition's canteen services. His food hardly touched, the lepis periodically nibbles at the rations, only to set his spoon down once more.

OOC: This is a communication thread for inquiring on the well being of others (primarily those on the Explorer's team).

Questioning around to find out who were the ones that managed to come back from the expedition, Hanno soon found the information of a tall lepis man (@Ru Ning) being among those. As he approached, he noticed the behavior of the man, being clear that whatever that happened wasn't good at all.

For a moment, he considered turning away to not bother him. But the possibility of his friend being in there pushed him enough for him to be selfish this one time. "Hey... Buddy?" He asked, swallowing and looking at him. "My friend, uh... Laylabelle." He said, gesturing upwards. "About this tall. Brown hair, amber eyes, eccentric but cheerful behavior-" Hanno tried to describe her, pausing and clenching his fist.

"Was... Is she there?"

Hanno held his breath at the words, looking at @Ru Ning. "... I see. So she's there too..." His fist clenched tighter, with his eyes burning in concern, but also determination as he checked his friend list.

She was still online.

He exhaled the breath he held. "Thanks, buddy. Make sure to rest well." He said, marching back to the rescue group.

"Hello, anyone seen Layabelle? She's a goofy girl, kind of dumb and quirky? She was with us up till the Apes attacked and we all split up, but I don't know what happened to her?""

Bradwynne sure had seen her while they were in the meeting place and the camp, but as of now, she was gone. He had searched around for her, but to no avail. He clearly hoped that she would just log out of this since she seemed to be anxious about the third death when she spoke to him a while ago. And so he had tried to search for her, hoping that she was all right. He had already a woman lost before his sight once, who had then became changed when he met her again, he hoped that it would never happen again.

As he then saw @Ru Ning just arrived and then settled down, and after he had heard the stories about the unfortunate expedition of the Explorer's League, he then sat down nearby, while bringing his own set of food to eat.

"Excuse me, I know that the recent events might have been bothering you, but did you know a woman by the name of Kamala Graham, if she was among your ranks? She is a cat beastwoman and..." He then described what he had remembered of her, as vivid as he possibly could, hoping that she was still alive somewhere.

Ru looks up from his depressive meal time and shows a bitter smile.

"Looks like she was well loved. You're the second to ask about her. I hope you're not hungry..."

He'd motion for the girl to take a seat across from him before explaining the events leading up to her abduction by the swarm. Having to pause several times, the lepis emptied what little contents of his stomach that he'd managed to fill.

"And those were her final words..."

@Sarina Knights

"Ah... you're talking about the woman with the nature spirit, right?"

Opting to skip over Kamala's fever induced rage as it broke the image presented by Brad, the lepis went into depth about how another had come to her rescue, sheltering her from impending doom (Laylabelle).

"She seemed pretty healthy before being carried off... so maybe she'll last longer than the others?"

Pausing a moment to reflect on her departing words, he'd scratch his head hesitantly before conveying them anyway.

"Would you mind telling them if you happen to see them? I'm not sure who some of them are... but they ought to know. Ah crap..."

It was then that the lepis had realized his error of omission. Ayna. @Ayna Nietzsche. A certain face came to mind as he'd quickly message the lavender vulpine, informing her of Kamala's fate.

"Final words? H-Hey now, you ok?"

Sarina looks around and borrows a dirty-looking towel off a passerby. She offers it to him as it reeks a bit of sweat.

"Whew, a game where one can get sick like that is something huh? Look, it'll be fine she's obviously not alone and we're gonna go to take care of it. Final words? The only words I wanna hear are CAN DO? Alright?"

Her fist clenched as she thought about how dangerous the game could get according to the VRSA. As a dispatcher officer, she couldn't let people just die like that.

And she wouldn't.

He'd take the towel, sniffing at it with a bit of disgust before wiping his mouth clean. Beggars couldn't be choosers after all.

"Can.. do..."

The response was weak and half-hearted at best. A weak smile formed as the lepis displayed appreciation for her efforts, but the horror continued to haunt Ru.

"Maybe final isn't the right term... but be ready to comfort her. If she's not locked, I think death was the best outcome in this situation..."

A sigh sounded as the gaunt man tried to brighten up.

"We just have to bring them home. You're right."

"Ah, so she is still there..." Bradwynne then mulled about what might have happened, and it would seem it was really tragic. Another person gave her life for her... Laylabelle was her name? He would surely remember that name. As @Ru Ning then mentioned more names that he also not knew, Bradwynne then thought about how loved she really was, and he was then reminded of the Witch Ops. Maybe he should never dally in finding and rescuing her along with the others that were kidnapped by the creatures that he had never seen, and he would never skimp out on preparations for the rescue. He knew that he also had loved ones who would not like to see him dead, and so he should prepare for the worst.

Although still somber from hearing the news, he then proceeded to eat as steadily as he could, but before passing some more food to Ru. "Eat more. You might need the extra energy for when we will solve everything here and rescue our loved ones."

"Ru-nii...? Ru-nii!"

She had been looking around camp for her friends, the Lepus worried about their condition—especially when that man with the whistles had shown up. Toko hand't been able to hear the full conversation, but it was clear something had gone wrong for the Explorers... and three of her friends had been partaking in their scouting mission. Finally, after some time, she managed to find the first familiar face, dashing over to the spot where Ru sat at before her arms wrapped around the bastkin's neck and shoulders for a hug.

"Daijoobu?! Oh I'm so glad you're okay...! Have you seen Frey and Sol? I can't seem to contact them through the UI..."

The lepis let's out a sigh of relief upon seeing another familiar face. Considering the size of the expedition, it was impossible to know of everyone's whereabouts. Thankfully Toko's presence was one less worry off his mind.

"Uhhm... I don't know about a Frey... but Sol..."

His words trailed to a halt, a clear indicator that things had gone south. Shaking his head once, the gaunt man pulled himself back together for a proper explanation.

"She chose to stay behind. We can only hope for the best now, and depart as soon as we're ready..."

She could see it in Ru's face, an uncomfortable feeling pooling in the Lepus' stomach, before she pulled Ru in closer for another hug.

"It's okay... we'll get them back, I know we will."

The words were softly whispered as Toko patted the back of Ru, attempting to comfort not only her friend but herself as well. The what ifs and maybes were nagging at the back of Toko's mind, but the Lepus did her best to silence the thoughts as she steeled ehr resolve.

Logging back in and having washed herself of the copious amounts of ape insides that coated her body before, Ludmilla wanders aimlessly around the expedition campsite, looking for someone who could tell her what exactly had been happening while she was gone.

Seeing @Ru Ning socialising with many coming and going adventurers, Ludmilla reasons that they would be a good place to start and approaches.

Umm, hi there, mister rabbit! I'm Ludmilla, I logged out for a bit after everyone got treated with Serenity Mist and I just got back. What's everyone doing and what's happening next?

A small faerin approaches, eyes filled with child like yet uncanny innocence. Her approach forthright and seemingly unaware, the lepis finds it hard to criticize her cheery disposition and swallows slowly, as if a bitter pill. Pondering for a moment on his response, Ru decides it's best to preserve her mood.

"Ah... hello. I think orders were to rest... we need to rest up so we can do our best later. We have to..."

His voice trails off, unable to decide on whether he should elaborate further or not.

"You should look for your friends... A lot of people are having trouble finding theirs..."

In the end, he vaguely hints at the others' ill fortune, unwilling to bring the topic to light without prompting.

After spending some time alongside a certain Lepus, Bonnie had decided to check the camp once more to make sure she wasn't forgetting anybody on her mental list that needed rescuing. The blonde noticed the gathering of individuals near a tent, and among them was a familiar face. Upon overhearing some of the conversations going on, she decided to approach.

Her whistle was gone.

...Ya have seen better high noons, pardner.

The blonde almost couldn't look at him directly. Would things have taken a different turn if she had participated?

I ovaheard @Sol decided to stay. Sorry 'bout that. Been lookin' for kittykat (@Crimson Ruby )all ova the damn place. I'm guessin'...

Clenching her fists, she trailed off, knowing what had most likely transpired as well.

There's sumeone else too. @Gwyn ap Herne. Big woman, blonde, has a shiny bow. Can't find 'er either...

Yet another familiar face approaches as Ru waves weakly at her arrival. His appetite still non-existent, a lone fork rolls some plated vegetables about.

"Ah, Bonnie. Good to see you made it back."

The fork pauses upon mention of their mutual friend. The lepis looks down grimly at his waist, motioning towards an additional whistle aside from his own.

"She threw this to me before turning back. Didn't want to leave the others, you know? Typically Ruby fashion. Guess I'll have to work doubly hard to return this to her..."

He'd then proceed to recount the events leading to the feline's disappearance should the boisterous faerin have time to listen.
