"Your build makes weapons appear out of nowhere and you think yours aren't cool? You are missing out your own skills, Fina." Ruby said, twitching her ears.

Maybe the first time they met and had some practice wasn't enough to get this into Fina's mind. But that was something Ruby could work on with time.

"... It is a bit selfish. But if telling you this is making you get involved, it wasn't that much of a horrible mistake." She said, looking at Fina when returning a similar quote to what she said earlier that same day. Ruby snuggled Fina closely when she leaned in again, feeling the warmth and comfort of the company, one that sparkled a small joy in the middle of all that turbulent chaos of bad emotions.

"You will come with me, then?" She asked, a bit quiet, almost like it was a secret between them. Even if there wasn't anyone else to hear it.

"Okay, maybe that wasn't the right thing to say." This wasn't exactly the first time she was having this kind of conversation. "I guess what I mean is that there is not much synergy between my abilities. One mastery creates the weapons, the rest just makes me capable of using them." It was cool in its own way, but it was nothing fancy like combining the strengths of five different masteries into some kind of super attack.

That said, her powers were always enough to make her get by. And she was glad that she could use those powers in the future to hopefully keep Ruby safe as well, as they would venture into the crystal-covered land. "Yeah. A mistake I'm glad you made, even!" She chuckled as she felt the other felis lean into her for comfort. Gosh, the warmth of another person, the softness of their skin... it was all so pleasant.

"Mhm. it's a promise!" She replied in kind and leaned herself against Ruby as well, even wrapping her fingers around the other girl's. "Just a shame I won't look as cute all bundled up." She joked a bit in hopes of removing any leftover stress and anxiety from the situation.

Ruby listened to Fina's reasoning, pondering for a moment and tilting her head in a partial understanding. For a blade dancer, the mere skill of movements and weapon mastery was enough to pull out an infinity of attacks and maneuvers, but at the same time she understood where Fina was coming from. "That means we will need some more practice." Ruby said, raising an eyebrow.

"Of course you will. It isn't your clothes that make you cute." Ruby corrected Fina, squeezing her hand softly and closing her eyes, resting her head on Fina's.

Perhaps she was being too needy, but honestly, she didn't care at this point. All that was important to Ruby was that Fina was there with her, keeping her the company that the cat girl didn't even know she sought during the chaotic moments she was going through.

"For now... I just want to stay like this though." She admitted.

"Not even more practice will help with the lack of innate synergy, but I wouldn't mind improving with you." There was no hint of sadness or frustration in the feline's voice, just a simple matter of fact. She wasn't all that bothered by the fact that she couldn't do crazy combos with her masteries. What she did have available was practical simplicity. She knew that her fighting style would always be effective, no matter the opponent. All enemies were weak to something, and she could conjure it to abuse that weakness, even if it wasn't as flashy as what others could produce.

As for Ruby's comment, Fina laughed briefly. "Well, that is why! Won't be able to see much of me when I'll be all bundled up to avoid the crystals!" It really was fun when they could play off of one another like that. Especially when there as almost no risk of some kind of misunderstanding, or at least so Fina hoped. After all, Ruby was trusting her enough to become this vulnerable. "Yeah. This is very nice. Hehe, maybe today it will be me taking care of you while you have a bit of a nap?" As the felis said that, she tried to run her hand through Ruby's hair playfully.

Ruby simply listened to Fina's words, quietly and mostly taking warmth in their connection right now. Her words made Ruby breathe a faint chuckle, and her eyes opened once again to look at Fina's eyes intently. "I don't need to see much to appreciate it." She said, somewhat not being able to avert her eyes for a moment, until Fina spoke of it being her turn of taking care of Ruby.

Her ears then twitched at the hair being played with, closing her eyes once again and purring quietly before clinging more to Fina, nudging her cheek before calming down and relaxing on her friend.

"If you want to take care of me... Sure..." Ruby opened her eyes again, looking up at Fina. It was still hard to muster complete happiness, but the other girl was one that could evoke it with more ease than Ruby could do all by herself.

Honestly, was Fina flirting with Ruby or just applying some slightly clueless affection? Perhaps it didn't even matter. It was honestly more amusing than anything. The felis was almost more than happy to oblige when the other cat girl confirmed that she wouldn't mind 'being taken care of'. It prompted the hand to caress Ruby's head even more, even going as far as scratching behind the other girl's ears gently. She knew from her own experience that this kind of stuff was what always hit the spot for her kind.

She would happily continue snuggling with Ruby as well. Though they were not in an outright embrace, it was frankly close enough. Fina wasn't daring enough to complete it, but she was more than willing to stay in this place for as long as the other girl needed to. They both went through some rough times, namely during the Red Fever incident. But at least it was behind them now, and hopefully they would not be haunted by the ghosts of past forever.

In the future, they would go ahead and have their adventures together, just like they promised. But for now? They melted into the comfort of one another, giving and obtaining the support they desperately needed.
