Rokishire (6:00 PM) [Cycle 6]

There was initial protest from the patrons when Moonsong stepped towards the stage, attempting to keep the excited customers away from their performer and her area. Whatever complaints they had begun to raise were soon forgotten, however, once the woman offered a round of booze—sponsored by the establishment—as she thanked them for supporting Vina. (-5 EN for Moonsong)

This allowed Vina to slip away from the stage without issue, the vixen easily dancing around the patrons as they slowly began to return back to their seats. The cool autumn breeze outside is refreshing, before the woman soon finds herself joined by Ruby. Both women are treated to a nice view as the sun is now beginning to set in the horizon, a soft golden glow cast upon the trees and the streets of Hovelis. (+10 EN to both Ruby and Vina) Plenty of men and women can be seen moving around as they wrap up their work for the day, jokes being shared among some as laughter occasionally rings through the air, before both beastfolks notice something… many seem to be making their way towards the already jam packed Rokishire.

Inside Moonsong is hard at work fulfilling the large order of meads she’s promised, going back and forth with full trays to expecting patrons. A wrong step cost the woman a full tray, adding to the mess already present on the floor, but eventually her task is completed and the current patrons mellow down into boisterous conversations as they enjoy the free round at their tables… though no additional orders are being placed in. (-10 EN to Moonsong)

Thankfully the mess on the floor hasn’t gone unnoticed and ignored, the youngest of the group taking it upon herself to clean up as the rest of her coworkers are busy with other tasks. It takes some time and effort, but soon enough most of the hazardous areas have been cleared… just in time too as a sudden rush of new customers begin pouring into the salong from the stairs that lead to the rooms above. (-5 EN to Azykia) Two of the tables are emptied out as their customers head to the now unmanned counter in the hope of renting a few rooms, but they’re soon refilled by the incoming upstairs patrons as they eagerly look about trying to flag down service. (5 Main Courses being requested)

Back in the kitchen LITTLE DOGGO and Kyra have been hard at work, their combined efforts helping them find an agreeable rhythm as they continue to prepare bigger dishes while getting out smaller appetizers and finger foods for hungry patrons. (-5 EN to both LITTLE DOGGO and Kyra) From their position they’re able to hear the conversations of the patrons as they come down the stairs, with many of them mentioning their want for a more substantial meal and a good cup of wine or ale. They’re beginning to pile around the stairs and entrance to the kitchen as the available sitting of the floor is currently occupied to capacity, small grumbles able to be heard as they complain of empty bellies and lack of accommodations. (15 Main Course orders pending, patrons will need to be seated first before they can order)

6:00 PM

Things seem to be getting Busy judging by the occasional noise that can be heard from upstairs as patrons go about their business in the rooms, it seems they're currently more active than usual. Meanwhile the unmanned counter seems to be earning a line as some of the current patrons in the floor have headed in that direction.
  • 1/2 Falder Rooms
  • 2/3 Staround Suites
  • 2/5 Hovelis Rest
  • 6/10 A Bed

With the combined efforts of Kyra and LITTLE DOGGO in the kitchen things seem to be running smoothly for the time being, and their teamwork has doubled the amount of prepped main course dishes that are only missing a few finishing touches for hungry patrons. From the kitchen the sounds of various footsteps as patrons descend the stairs can be heard...

There are currently EIGHT Main Dishes being prepared...
  • 220/300 Main Course
  • 240/300 Secondary
  • 150/200 Ingredients

The floor is currently Packed; a fresh wave of hungry customers coming from the stairs above... At least the previous mess of food and water (and Moonsong's addition when she slipped with a full tray of mead) has been cleaned up for the most part thanks to the efforts of Azykia.

The current mood of the tavern is Bustling, with new patrons trying to find a place to sit down and properly enjoy a meal and some wine while current patrons are now lingering in their tables thanks to the free mead. The place is now tightly packed and makes it harder to move around the floor.
  • 20/25 Wine
  • 40/50 Ale
  • 72/100 Mead

The stage is currently empty...

Cycle 6
Injured (Right Upper Leg)

The Only Thing I Know for Real

She could have cleaned the floor faster. Despite being blind, it wasn't too difficult to find water and glass on the floor with divine light, much less anything else at her disposal. It was her emotions that slowed her down. Those things she had logged into Terrasphere in the first place to feel. Had they always been this brittle? This brutal? This...

She used hydromancy to evaporate the few tears she simply couldn't help but to shed, wondering just how much of an impact this form and this world truly had on her, both inside and outside of the game. Every second that passed felt less and less precious to her before being Azykia. The crumbling of existence, the dulling of all edges and the fading of all colors, she had chased it away in search of this. This horrible, awful feeling of embarrassment and disappointment. This was what made her so alive. So she reveled in it as she ignored every other person stumbling and rushing around. They were all a dime a dozen, people like them. Commoners, she once called them.

Commoners, because they were common, and common people couldn't clean a floor of glass and liquid while being blind, and then walk back over to the counter to help guests and pretend that none of her previous expressions of sorrow had ever existed. Only she could do that. Only people like her, anyway. With her ar-cane manifested, she limped back over to the counter and resumed signing out rooms to people.

▣ Action: We manage the counter some more.

Cycle 6: Seating the people upstairs
-5 EN for calming the commotion
-10 EN for distributing ale

It's 6 PM. People staying in the inn were looking to have dinner already, along with the people traveling from outside. There's one problem though; there are not enough tables for all of them. Some patrons are just drinking and enjoying the music, waiting for Vina to come back.

Maybe the fox beastfolk could save the day, once more?

Moonsong opened the door outside, waving to the performer to get closer before whispering into her ear. "Are you rested yet? I might need some help..."

Yes, this is a genius idea. The simps chilling inside would go outside, leaving spots for the upstairs patron to eat, while Vina's alluring performance would guarantee more people that were just passing to check the inn. Two birds with one stone. "You were looking for dinner? Come, follow me. We have empty seats here." She guided the people upstairs to the newly-emptied tables.

Cycle 6: OUTSIDE
+10 EN from Rest
-10 EN from station switch (Entertainment -> Outside)

After spending so many hours in the middle of the inn's warm common room Vina was happy to get some fresh air, the autumn breeze swirling around her and causing her obscenely long hair to swirl as well. She filled her lungs before exhaling slowly, taking in the beautiful sight of the sun's golden rays bathing everything. It wasn't often she got to see something like this, and she was doing her best to memorise the view before a redhaired friend stepped outside as well to greet her.

Hey Ruby~! I'm guessing you also wanted to take a break~? (She smiled as Ruby complimented her performance, her tail wagging behind her.) Thank you~! I've been having a lot of fun today. I know that I kind of took the easy job, but I hope you're enjoying yourself as well~ As for the customers...~ (She paused and smirked before laughing softly.) I might have overdone it a little bit~

When Vina was in the middle of her performance she could become a bit immersed in it, forgetting that there was such a thing as too much exuberance. It wouldn't do to have your audience start breaking things in their enthusiasm, after all.

Like Ruby Vina's ears went up, swivelling to try and catch any strange sounds. It didn't take long for her to figure out what was going on, however, as she saw the people now heading towards the inn from practically every direction.

It looks like we'll now be serving those who've spent the day working hard~ We might not have enough space for everyone...

She frowned thoughtfully, considering their options. The common room was already packed enough that they couldn't really seat any more people, but turning them away would be bad for business. They had to somehow keep the inn from overflowing without missing out on revenue or damaging the inn's reputation. They did have an obligation towards the owner, after all. At this point Moonsong opened the door and beckoned her over, distracting Vina from her thoughts as the vixen turned towards the human.

What is it? (She listened as Moonsong explained her idea, then nodded with a grin.) I can do that, yes. In fact...~

Turning back towards Ruby Vina extended a hand towards her friend, her azure eyes carrying a mischievous glint. If the goal was for them to keep people busy outside the inn Ruby's assistance could only be beneficial.

Do you want to sing a song with me Ruby~?

If Ruby accepted the offer Vina would grasp the catgirl's hand and pull her close, guiding her along to a spot where they would be standing in front of the tavern with plenty of space to move without blocking the doorway.

With the both of us putting on a show it should keep the customers entertained while giving our friends inside a break~ Do you know Song of the Ancients?

With Ruby's affirmation, Vina would smile and start the song, the air whistling around the two to help set the melody as the vixen's ears twitched before she began to sing, her voice clearly audible both inside and outside of the inn as the winds carried the sound a lot further than usual. Ruby's voice would benefit from the same effect, allowing the two of them to get the attention of everyone in the area without having to overtax their throats.

"I was just curious about the change of pace." Ruby admitted, scratching the back of her head. "I'm a bit tired of repeating the same robotic serving words all the time too." She said, a bit quieter to no one else but Vina to listen.

"You sing and dance all morning and afternoon and you call it an easy job? I want to know your secret." Ruby swayed her tails, chuckling and letting out a quiet sigh, peeking behind her back to see Moonsong approaching her friend, dropping her gaze to somewhere else until her attention was caught again by the vixen.

Her gaze shifted between Vina's hands and her eyes, with a smile growing on Ruby's lips. "An invitation to sing with you? I'd be silly to reject." She said, taking her hand and letting herself be pulled into the performance.

Along with Vina's voice, Ruby supported her in the vocals and the magic, with her singing serving to echo the lyrics the vixen sang, while ther spirit magic went with the air flow, letting the music touch not only the ears, but the souls of the listeners, all while Ruby swayed along with Vina, sparkling a joyful expression to her friend.

 Cycle 6: Speedy Speed DOG

It didn't felt bad to be eavesdropping on people. Why they had to stand just outside the kitchen to be loud and obnoxious about what's going on? Are they meant to be the customer service here?!

LIL' DOGGO's so over it, so over, she went right over the door with the courage of a heroine about to face the big bad villains.

Excuse me misters, but this is!-

This is...

Words just couldn't describe how crowded the main floor was. Now she didn't need to guess why they standing outside, there's just no room whatsoever to take a seat on!

The two closest to the kitchen door just stared, puzzled about this supposed 'chef' with questioning looks all over.

"...Sorry?" One of the patrons said, half-offended, half curious about what exactly she wanted to say, given all that bravado of earlier just banished as if the faerin had seen a ghost.

O-ooh wow! Nobody's here it must have been the wind, yes!

She quickly shut back the door. And just in case put a wooden chair to block the entrance, just to avoid any patron to get in, or anybody at that, turning back to stare at Kyra with just as much shock as earlier.

You saw nothing, yeah? Just the wind! Hooh we got so many orders and DISHES TO COOK HERE! I SURE HOPE OUR NICE CUSTOMERS APPRECIATE IT!

Her voice skyrocketed, tilting her face in direction to the door as if to let the noisy men outside be aware that, yes, their complaints didn't go unheard, so the cook's wouldn't either!

▣ Action: Kyra and DOGGO just keeps cooking. Forget about the outside. Also blocks the door with a chair just in case. i'm running out of food ideas for this one, so we splitting up the work or taking after whatever Shadow makes Kyra cook or suggest!

Cycle 2: Kitchen

Kyra had continued working as Birb made her way towards the door, poking her head out and muttering a few incoherent words, before suddenly coming back into the kitchen, slamming a chair against the door and appearing entirely flustered. Kyra's brow furrowed slightly, her tail wagging harshly behind her.

Silently, she strode to the door, opening it up with a slam and looking at the closest individuals - the same two men who'd been speaking loudly moments before - before growling harshly. Her words came out harsh and loud, and the anger on her face was apparent.

Listen, assholes! There's work to be done here and food to be made. If you pick on the chef again, or cause her any grief or harm, you're going to become the food! Am I clear on that?!

Without waiting for a response, she slammed the door behind her, striding back towards the counter and returning to the slicing that she'd been doing with some sausages. She threw a smile over at Birb, rather pleased with how she'd managed to act so outwardly.

I don't think they're going to bother us anymore!

She placed the sausages on a plate, before searching for some cheese that would go well with the meat. Lost in the rhythm of the work, Kyra wouldn't notice the reaction from Birb in response to the outburst, nor would she take the moment to consider her actions.

Rokishire DINNER RUSH (7:00 PM) [Cycle 7]

@Azykia would find her hands full, between cleaning the floor and trying to manage the counter. There was a line forming, and as she tried to keep up, it would quickly spiral. More and more people came into the inn, as the sun dipped below the horizon, bathing the room in its brilliant line. Customers of any and all kinds began pouring in enmasse. Rooms would be haggled for, people would rush over each other to make sure they were the ones to get into the limited space. Drinks demanded, glasses slammed on the table. One woman, blonde with a short fading cut and long bangs would continually demand to see some kind of manager. Regardless of how good the service was. Some people just cannot be pleased. (Her service has kept the Frenzy down, and her experience has increased profits for the inn.)

@Moonsong went to go find those upstairs, insisting that they move downward in order to be serviced. There was grumbling, protesting. But, none outright protested, given she was a scary knight lady who was sweetly beckoning them along. That, and the increased pull of Vina's music began to let most of them drift downward from the stairs and into the packed, tight room below. (The effects of Dinner Rush have been lowered, though the frenzy has been increased.)

All the while, Kyra and Doggoy Doggo worked hard with frying pans and the burning stove. Feeding the coals into both, and keeping the flames going. All while the door was blocked, as people banged on it, saying profanities and challenging the former to fights in their drunken states. Most were just hungry, and didn't like the rude service. Or the slow service, for that matter. (The Patrons are angered. But Doggo and Kyra can now focus on making food.)

Which was to the benefit of @Vina Skysong and @Crimson Ruby . The chaos was to their advantage, as people poured in, and the two women pushed out into the cooling evening air. Able to see the way the setting sun began to accentuate the crimson reds, harvest oranges, and brilliant golden leaves of the forest of Brisshal that heralded the coming Autumn, and the approaching winter. Horses and carts still pulling up, or being led to be parked safely along the way. Their efforts would work to keep people occupied, their beautiful duet drawing attention of would be and already-are patrons from going inside. (All characters will get a 20% decrease in Energy Cost for the next cycle.)

7:00 PM - DINNER RUSH

The rush of late night dinner is upon the Rokishire. After a long day full of hard work, socializing, and walking around, the residents of Hovelis and the surrounding areas have began to gather for the Harvest Moon celebrations. They want all of the luxury that comes from a time in a homely, cozy inn. This want is greater tonight than it has ever been. There needs and wants will need to be satisfied, but with reasonable quality. Those needs and the work needed will henceforth be represented by HP. Their growing frenzy and discontentment will be represented by SP. SP will count up every cycle, the higher it gets, the more difficult it may be to perform necessary tasks.

❰ 0 / 999 ❱

❰ 1900 / 2000 ❱

-100HP from the efforst of Azykia, Vina and Ruby.
SP Gain from Kyra's failure stifled by Moonsong's success.

  • 1/2 Falder Rooms
  • 2/3 Staround Suites
  • 2/5 Hovelis Rest
  • 6/10 A Bed
Rooms can now be filled and used as a way to passively deal 'Damage' every single turn to the frenzy of Dinner Rush, as well as keep patrons away from the floor. Though, it may give them time to rest, and come back with more lust for drink and song later.

There are currently SIXTEEN Main Dishes being prepared...
  • 220/300 Main Course
  • 240/300 Secondary
  • 150/200 Ingredients
Courses and Ingredients can now be used to add modifiers to the cooks rolls for the purposes of dealing with either HP, restoring Energy to allies, reducing SP, or creative effects. This can be done through a bonus action, in increments of 5 Main course, 10 Secondary, or 15 Ingredients used to gain 1 Stack of the [SERVICE] Buff. (+5/+3/+1 per stack depending on the action)

Main dishes can now be used as modifiers for ATTACK rolls made.

The floor is currently Full to Capacity; There are a lot of people here, nearly in the three hundred range. There aren't enough seats for them all, not that most mind. Gambling games have begun to set up, people fill the stairs with their presence. Vina and Ruby have done well to keep it from getting far too crowded, which will reduce the effort needed to get to and serve everyone.

The current mood of the tavern is RUSHED,
  • 20/25 Wine
  • 40/50 Ale
  • 72/100 Mead
Drinks can now be used on Allies to give them bonuses to presence and Fitness Checks, while reducing their knack or awareness. It may also be used on Patrons to keep their SP low, while still acting as a way to service their needs. You can spend any amount of alcohol per turn dependent on your needs. The more used, the more energy it will cost.

The stage is currently moved outside, where Vina and Ruby keep patrons occupied and entertained...

As the singing and the performance were done, Ruby smiled warmly to @Vina Skysong, brimming with joy. "Thank you for the invitation, it is always wonderful to sing with you." She said, taking the other woman's hand and squeezing it with a soft expression on her face. Everything was sure much easier with the right company.

Her gaze then shifted to the interior of the Inn, noticing the increasing crowd inside of it.

She slipped a quiet sigh, tilting her head to the vixen again. "Unfortunately I think we can't sing for much longer... Things are getting quite crowded." She said, looking up at her. "Thank you again." Ruby said, letting the woman's hand go with a gentle caress, swaying her tail as she hurried back into the building and going straight to the counter, where the blonde girl was, with the annoying customer causing a ruckus.

'I am here.' Her Primal Aura touched @Azykia's instincts. 'Let me help you.' The aura once again reached for the small girl, and Ruby carefully grabbed the drinks, starting to deliver the drinks to the other, more patient and gentle customers, before finally focusing on the troublesome one, casting a serious glare at the annoying woman and thrusting her drink forward near the woman while placing herself between her and Azykia to shield the girl from the icky, blabbering saliva the angry woman spouted at every letter she slipped out of her mouth.

"Sorry for taking too long, ma'am. Most of the workers here can only understand words, not barking. Thankfully I understand it a little. Just beastfolk things." She pushed the drink closer to the woman, with her Primal Aura growling intently. "Here is your drink." She didn't actually work there anyway, so manager's call didn't faze her.

Cycle 7: Serving the Main Dishes
-16 EN from serving 10 main dishes (-20% EN cost bonus)

7 PM.

The dreaded busy hour has finally come, as hungry patrons started to pour from outside. The floor was quickly overwhelmed by the sheer number of customers suddenly ordering food, while the people upstairs were still not finished with their dishes yet. There'll be a hellish length of people in queue if this is not dealt with accordingly.

Moonsong burst into the kitchen shouting, "How many main dishes are ready?" Sixteen, an impressive number but still not enough to feed all of this horde. "Right, serving ten right now."

And so, there's the hellish maid with stacks of ten main dishes in both of her hands, walking slowly towards the inn floor. How, you may ask? Monstrous power, and monstrous will.

Moonsong-sense, activate.

With her Astramancy, she predicted with her divination possible routes that this might go wrong; collision with patrons, bad balance, too much power, or just outright slipping. It was ineffective, energy-cost-wise, but no one wants to make the second trip back to the kitchen. "Let's go. MAIN DISH, HERE YOU GO!" She shouted, delivering the orders to the big tables.

As Vina danced and sang together with Ruby she would occasionally teasingly brush her tail against the feline's legs and tail, always in such a manner that it could easily have been carelessness if it wasn't for that playful smile and the mischievous glint in her eyes. Nevertheless, she'd never skip a beat in their performance, drawing as many people outside as the two of them could manage. Which was quite a lot, as their performance filled the air and could clearly be heard from inside, offering something much more enticing than a seat in a warm, crowded room.

Once their performance came to an end she answered Ruby's smile with one equally warm, her gaze affectionate as she leaned a bit closer.

Anytime Ruby. I really enjoy spending time with you~

There weren't many other Travelers who were as invested in the arts as Vina, after all. She also liked adventuring and exploring, but Ruby gave her the opportunity to indulge in one of her greatest passions together with someone else, which she considered invaluable. Squeezing Ruby's hand back she'd pull her friend closer to give her a brief hug before nodding as the red-haired dancer noted that the people inside needed their help.

Hmmm... yeah, it does look like the inn is ready to burst~ Let's go help out our friends then!

She would've liked to spend some more time performing, but she agreed with Ruby that they no longer had that luxury. With how many customers the inn was now having they'd need every to be doing their part in keeping the people satisfied. Once Ruby let go of her hand the vixen would let her fingers brush along the length of the dancer's swaying tail, giving her a wink if she were to look around before hurrying inside.

After enjoying the refreshing autumn air entering the inn meant she was practically met with a wall of warm air, the white-haired druidess blinking before working her way over to the counter. Everywhere there were people talking, laughing, yelling, eating, playing cards, or even getting into minor scuffles. She didn't even bother to get a headcount. Instead, she just did her best to not bump into anyone until she was close enough to talk to Azykia, who'd been manning the counter this entire time.

Which orders are ready to go, and who do they belong to~?

Once the pretty blonde who'd been keeping an eye on everything had shared what she knew the vixen would pick up the six dishes that hadn't been served yet, creating cushions of air to carry them with so she wouldn't have to make several trips. Humming to herself to mitigate the cacophony of the overcrowded common room she made her way between the crowded tables.

Here's your meal sirs~ Enjoy, and don't forget to get some fresh air afterwards~

Quite the spicy meal you've ordered~ Good thing there's plenty of cheese to go with it~

Nothing better than a hearty meal after a day of productivity~ A well-deserved reward, wouldn't you say~?

Another performance? Once things have calmed down again~ It wouldn't do to sing when nobody can listen~

Take care, this is piping hot~! Don't burn your tongue, and enjoy~!

Sorry for the delay, here's your meal~! I'm sure the wait will be worth it~!

Cycle 2: Kitchen
Energy:-12 EN

Everything had gotten busy, the sounds of the inn outside amplifying in Kyra's ears. She was glad, for the moment at least, that she wasn't out on the floor dealing with all the noise and mess. Her thoughts, for the briefest moment turned to Ruby and the others, busting around the inn and bringing food to all the patrons, dealing with the messes they'd be making, cleaning up the food that was leftover and uneaten-

Shit! Birb we didn't make anything for the other staff to eat. We should probably make them something, right? I mean they must be hungry...

She glanced over their ingredients, her mind racing as she tried to piece together something that could be made for the staff to eat. It needed to be filling, balanced...and most importantly, it needed to be something that could be eaten quickly while on the run.

Hey...I actually have an idea...

She set to work, pulling out a bag of chip-like things that she'd found in a corner, almost as large as she was. Racing across the kitchen, she found the green onions, sour creams, ground meats, cheeses and assorted other ingredients that she would need for the dish, before setting to work.

Moments later she placed the tray of nacho-like creation into the oven, turning to grin at Birb as she placed her hands on her hips.

See! I'm not totally, entirely useless in the kitchen. I think...oh gods I hope I didn't put that in too early. Or too hot...or...no, no. It'll be fine...

Cycle 7: DOG DOG, DOG, DOGGO IS THE WORD
-8 EN from helping Kyra in the kitchen!

Kyra went all the way as far as to shout at the patrons just for their sake. DOGGO just felt her heart fly like a butterFLY, skyrocket once again as if energy had been restored to her limbs just from listening to Kyra cuss out. That meant her friend is an adult, obviously. Only adults are allowed to cuss!

You are so cool Kyra, I wanna be like you and my jiejie. You two are the least boring adults I know of.

Perhaps the perfect mix ever! Someone who can kick ass with words and her big sis, who kicks ass with actions alone. Her own fantasies of being an adult cook shouting at her clients and being praised for it (which in her mind meant having longer legs to match a grown up's height) were all cut short at yet another cussing word from Kyra, who reminded them of the others in the Inn Team.

You call and LIL' DOGGO answers! Let's get your idea up and running.

Clearly, Kyra's cooking senses were getting sharper. The woman so easily reached for specific ingredients, were most amateurs would cluelessly grab everything like a blind pick of sorts and form a blender out of tastes that would inevitably ruin their dish, a failure from the beginning - Not Kyra, nope, the nice fox girl knew exactly what she needed and what she wanted.

They were just giving it the final details, this tray formed of delicacies only known to the modern world and replicated in a fantasy game just needed to be dropped on the oven and that's that.

See! I'm not totally, entirely useless in the kitchen. I think...oh gods I hope I didn't put that in too early. Or too hot...or...no, no. It'll be fine...

Doggo stood proud, hands on her hips as Kyra grinned and rejoyced for half a second; she was being the real chef here! Of course she wasn't use-

...W-why is the oven set to nine hundred degrees?

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

LIL DOGGO screamed, quickly rushing over to dial that down a bunch. Of course Kyra wasn't wrong at all, that's a mistake she would have done too, because for some reason this oven can reach temperatures that would get it called a forge even and a meal like this would need the maximum temperature available. Which is nowhere near as close to nine hundred from where they come from...

Who thought nine hundred is needed for an oven, do they cook frozen elemental meat here?!

DOGGO sighed off. Yet again the team barely making it in the kitchen, but certainly they were kicking ass, and for that, LIL' DOGGO rose her right hand up towards her fellow chef, pulling up the smuggest grin she could give.

Team Kitchen highfive?

Rokishire DINNER RUSH (8:00 PM) [Cycle 8]

”Will you stop ignoring me and get me your manager—”

A hand had slapped loudly against the counter as the blonde woman had her eyes solely focused on @Azykia, but before her tirade could devolve further @Crimson Ruby had bounded over to the counter. The drink was served and pushed towards the unruly woman, the growl reverberating in the beastfolk’s throat not missed along with the animalistic presence pushing into her mind. Hmph! Seems Hovelis’ standards are dropping with all these newcomers passing by if they’re hiring beasts in Rokishire now!!!” The drink was swiped from the counter with haste, causing a handful of the wine to spill atop the counter and splash in the direction of the two women did she just smirk, was that intentional?! before the blonde disappeared into the growing crowd.

@Moonsong manages to quickly serve ten of the main dishes on standby, the woman expertly avoiding moving patrons and unexpected obstacles as she carries fully loaded trays of various delectable dishes. The remaining dishes are quickly scooped up by @Vina Skysong as she delivers them to the customers one by one, her extra attention and service earning the vixen wide grins and quite a few additional coins for the personalized care. (Vina’s care has increased the profit for main dishes delivered by the foxgirl to waiting patrons, next time she’s delivering main dishes Vina can add a +30 mod to her roll!)

Meanwhile the warmth radiating from the kitchen has seemingly increased, the burners burning hotter than ever as @Kyra Vashtana and @LITTLE DOGGO worked together to bring a new creation to life… and almost burn it in the process. Thankfully LITTLE DOGGO’s quick reaction saved the hefty tray of nachos for the most part, and while a few items around the edges were darker than intended overall the dish had been a success. Meanwhile a pile of tickets seems to be quickly gathering as orders continue to filter into the kitchen…

8:00 PM - DINNER RUSH

Late dinner rush is still in full swing, with the residents of Hovelis eager to get a good bite to eat and some soothing entertainment to end their day ona high note—while incoming travelers brought to town by the Harvest Moon celebrations are eager to get a sample of what it's like to be a Hovelisian now that the sun has finally set and the night has begun. No matter where you look there's always a need to be found, and their owners wish to have them met to excellence.

Those needs and the work needed will henceforth be represented by HP. Their growing frenzy and discontentment will be represented by SP. SP will count up every cycle, the higher it gets, the more difficult it may be to perform necessary tasks.

Battlefield Hazard
Oh no, it seems Karlirah is none too plased about the treatment and service she received in the counter, and shes personally ensuring anyone and everyone around her gets an earful of this tale (oh wow, that beastfolk did whaaat?!). Her well versed and captivating words are certainly earning the attention of quite a substantial amount of patrons... and tension in the air seems to be rising whenever the staff come by to tend to the customer's orders.

Rooms can now be filled and used as a way to passively deal "DMG" every single turn to the frenzy of Dinner Rush, and also keep patrons away from the crowded floor. Be weary however, this allows patrons the time to rest and they may come back with an increased lust for drink and song...
  • 1/2 Falder Rooms
  • 2/3 Staround Suites
  • 2/5 Hovelis Rest
  • 6/10 A Bed

Main Courses and Ingredients can now be used to add modifiers to the cooking rolls for the purpose of dealing with either HP, restoring EN to allies, reducing SP, or creative effects. This can be done through a Bonus Action, in increments of 5 (Main Course), 10 (Secondary) or 15 (Ingredients) used to gain x1 Stack of the ❰ SERVICE ❱ Buff. (+5/+3/+1 per stack on the action).

Main dishes can now be used as modifiers for ATTACK rolls made.
There are currently ZERO Main Dishes being prepared...

Meanwhile things are heating up over in the kitchen as customers continue to place orders and tickets keep flowing in, the sound of grumbling can also be heard from the room as hangry patrons are quickly loosing their patience without any entertainment to keep them distracted from the long wait time.
  • 202/300 Main Course
  • 207/300 Secondary
  • 85/200 Ingredients

Things seem to be getting crowded over at the counter as those with bellies full of food and mead are now looking for a place to rest, or in the case of some wishing for a quiet and private room to become better acquainted with their companions for a few hours...
  • 10/25 Wine
  • 20/50 Ale
  • 32/100 Mead

The floor is currently rowdy, the voice levels of hungry patrons constantly rising as they're forced to wait longer than desired for a warm meal after a long and arduous day, and with no entertainment available many are turning their eyes and ears towards a particular blonde and her entrancing tale... Meanwhile the current mood of the tavern is warm, with so many people packed inside today (not to mention the kitchen now running at full steam) patrons are craving for ways to cool off—whether it's via drinks or something else.

The stage is currently empty...

Cycle 8: A Rest
+21 EN from Resting and Eating 5 Main Course

Moonsong finished servicing all the main dishes, helped by Vina. There's currently a crowd gathering at the counter though, queueing for a room. Meanwhile, orders kept piling and there was no one to deliver the orders. The brunette really wanted to help, but she was too exhausted; not physically, but mentally. A literal blonde Karen had been running her mouth around the floor for an hour, and her ears were busted from hearing the voice.

She went to the counter, telling @Crimson Ruby and @Azykia to watch things over while she rests for a while. "Sorry, gotta rest. I'm dehydrated and drenched right here." Before anyone could protest, she stormed into the kitchen, asking @Kyra Vashtana and @Little Birb. "Any leftover? I could use some plates of food."

Yes, some plates. Moonsong completed the heist with five portions of the main course, now floating down with her into the cellar below. She sat on the chair, chowing down the food with a vengeance. The Karen will pay for her crimes once the demonic maid finished her meal.

Cycle 7: Entertainment

-10 EN from performing
+21 Inspiration (1 Charge)
+30 Service (1 Charge)

It really was rather warm inside by this point, and Vina considered using her Aeromancy to help air the room to make it a little bit less stifling. At least the customers were reacting positively to her doing her best to make them feel welcome, greeting each of them with a smile as she brought them their meals. However, before she could serve any other meals she'd have to wait for Kyra and Birb to finish some more dishes. She hoped that they were doing well in the kitchen...

However, her plans of improving the circulation and atmosphere within the common room were interrupted as she noticed that the mood was also changing. Her sharp ears allowed her to overhear the confrontation between Ruby and one of the customers, and from the sounds of it, that same customer was now doing her best to spread her discontent with the rest of the room. And while the six of them were doing their best to serve everyone to the best of their ability, they'd been at this since noon and it was clear that they didn't have enough hands to take care of the needs of three hundred people.

Vina did quickly formulate a plan to improve the situation, hopefully also giving her friends an opportunity to regain some energy so they could get through this Dinner Rush without harming the inn's reputation. Especially since her own performance might be part of the reason why the place was absolutely packed by this point.

Turning around the vixen headed for the counter, where she could practically feel Ruby radiating hostility towards the female human who apparently went by the name Karlirah.

Hey, Ruby~?

She called out towards her friend with a sing-song voice even as she grabbed a glass and filled it with booze. Once the red-haired feline turned towards her Vina would lean over the counter and give her a quick kiss, followed by a mischievous smile.

Don't worry too much about her, just keep the taps running and keep your eyes on me~

Raising her own glass she'd turn around and walk towards the stage, deftly weaving her way through the bustling crowd with a swaying gait that emphasised her hips. Without missing a step she'd look at Ruby over her shoulder and wink at her friend before climbing onto the stage, where her first act was to empty the glass in one go. As she gulped down the drink she'd move the index finger of her free hand from side to side like a metronome. As the air around her came to life the room would be filled with the sound of a rather unusual instrument, that being an accordion.

Once Vina finished the glass she'd begin the actual song, holding onto the glass for now and raising it into the air to help set the mood. The air around her would also provide the appropriate instruments through careful manipulation of the vibrations in the air, which also helped Vina's performance remain audible above the crowd. Unlike her previous performances where the focus had been on the music, Vina was a lot more animated this time around, dancing on the stage with swaying hips and her hands gesturing to accentuate her lyrics. Her lively form also made her obscenely long hair swirl around her, which Vina used to tease her audience with glimpses of her exposed legs, arms, and stomach between the dancing white strands.

Roughly halfway through the song (with some lyrics receiving changes so they made sense within Terrasphere), Vina would toss the empty glass into the air, freeing up her second hand. Rather than letting the glass fall down, however, she managed to catch it by slipping the tip of her tail through the handle. She swiftly followed this up by lifting one leg up, the tip of her tail swooping down to throw the empty glass from between Vina's legs towards the counter. She'd point towards the glass with one finger, shaping the air into a tiny gust to carry the glass and set it down safely.

Once she was sure she had a captive audience Vina held her hands up to the sides of her head, briefly mimicking her own fox ears with her extended index and middle fingers. The fact that she was at the same time looking in the direction of Karlirah, winking and sticking out her tongue, was surely just a coincidence. The exchange only lasted for a moment anyway, as Vina quickly spun around to face another part of the crowd.

The vixen could tell that the human was experienced in causing trouble, and engaging her with open hostility would just play into her hands. Instead, she'd undermine Karlirah's attempts by hyping up the crowd: it didn't matter how smooth the blonde was with her words, if the rest of the inn was enjoying the party she'd only make herself look foolish if she tried anything to worsen the mood.

Cycle 8: DOGGO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURES: BARK IS UNBREAKABLE.

When @Moonsong came blasting into the kitchen, LIL' DOGGO jumped on spot, ready to tuck herself down and hide under the table until the familiar voice of the ashen warrioress calmed her down once again. Seems like Kyra was right, and hungry stomachs are beginning to get to their whole Inn gang. Sharing a glance with the fox girl and their very intimidating bouncer, DOGGO pointed out to one of the 'leftovers'. Surely that patron wouldn't mind an extra bit of waiting, right?

Okay. Things are looking real bad missus Kyra. So we need to change our plans.

DOGGO clapped her hands together and left a loud 'mmhm!' along the way, picking up on the many tickets for all these hungry customers whose shouts had all but been turned into static to her ears.

Quantity over quality. Standard meals, we pack them up and off to the oven and onto the next. I'll handle the first half, you handle the last.

That just seemed like their only course of action. Even now the pressure had gotten real high, and the effects of her last nap were finally wearing off; they all were tired, but we couldn't stop just yet, saving on energy would be crucial. Average dishes are better than no dishes at all.

Is this how Wacdonalds works..? Well, now she can tell why Yuhan hates burgers!

Ruby was glaring daggers, almost literally, at the ill-behaved customer that only made the Crimson Cat mark the woman's face whenever she found her somewhere else. She would make sure to give her an unforgetful lesson for her. "Yeah, stay here a bit longer and the boss may even hire you." She hissed, with a growing vengeful intent that was developing into something more dangerous, until @Vina Skysong showed up, already being enough to make her halt the immediate hostility.

"... Hey..." Ruby huffed, frowning and picking up another cup to start filling it, peering at the booze that Vina was starting to pour on a glass. "... Sorry, but I- Mmph?!" Her ears perked up along with her tails at the sudden kiss, making her face go rosy as all her thoughts were washed away, being clear with her stunned expression as she looked at Vina.

"A-Ah, uhm... Yeah... Y-You are right." Ruby nodded sheepishly, then smiled. "Sure, I will be watching you..." She said with a warm voice, and the stupid customer was now vaguely forgotten as she picked up the drinks and continued to work on delivering them, while keeping her eyes and ears giving some attention to Vina as she continued to assist @Azykia on the deliveries.

Cycle 6
Injured (Right Upper Leg)

We Serve More Drinks

Comforted by @Crimson Ruby's aura and presence both, she got a giggle out of the interaction, though she never let it show as more than a polite smile. After the all too unpleasant woman walked away, she took a moment to address her fractionally feline friend in this war against customer-kind. "Thank you. You don't have to worry about me over here, though!"

For what it was worth though, Ruby's swing-by did cheer her up just a bit, but she realized something even more important as a result. The fun part of being a bartender had escaped her this entire time: talking up drunk people. Her allies were more than capable of handling whatever all that other stuff she couldn't even see further off was. She could afford to mess around just a bit, and she might even get some tips out of it--well, probably not seeing as how this wasn't necessarily America, but she was never one to rule out the possible.

Azzy began to actually get into conversations with the people she was serving, and it crossed her ears that the annoying woman she could still hear the general presence of was causing havoc, not to mention all of the other complaints that had been an issue up until now. "Hah, doesn't she sound like she's having fun?"

"Some people can't hold their ale. You know, she spilled the last drink she got right on the counter~!"

She even commented to a younger guest who might empathize with her silliness: "I could never get away with that. My father would probably lock me in my room forever~!" She laughed at her less than whimsical allusion to being grounded, even though that literal thing happened to her and made her start playing Terrasphere in the first place. She wasn't really thinking about that when she said it, though.

Anyways, nothing she did at this point would ever be worse than what she caused before, so Azzy's mood had shot up, and her cares had gone off to party somewhere. It even helped to have Ruby around to run drinks out for a while, so that she could keep the conversations going. If people were going to wait, and Azzy was going to do the other verb definition of the word wait, then they would all wait while having fun. And anyone who wasn't having fun would get shot.

Cycle 8: Kitchen
Energy:-?? EN

Birb was quick to correct Kyra's mistake with the oven - Who lets an oven go to eight hundred degrees if you shouldn't do that?! - and Kyra felt herself humbled again, realising that she would have to rely on Birb's direction. Not that she was discontented with that, if it meant things were done properly.

As Birb began directing her on the next meals that would have to be prepared, Kyra found herself following along. She had no concept of what needed to be done, but the idea of quantity over quality made sense to her. She spent a few moments watching as Birb showed her how to prepare the simple meals, before stepping back up to the counter itself.

Quantity...these seem simple enough, I think I got this. Let's push a few of these out, just to get things rolling!

She smiled at her companion, glad that someone so capable was in charge of the food preparation. Imagine if there were two of me in here...this poor inn... She turned her focus back to preparing the food, following the directions of Birb as closely to the described letter as she could, making sure to take her time to be careful, but rushing where she could just to get as many as she could out.

It is...a good thing you're here...can you imagine if I'd been stuck here alone? We'd be so screwed...
