The tavern business was starting to pick up, although it was not that busy yet. With every station filled, Moonsong decided to step back and rest for a bit. She went down to the cellar to drink some water, of course not without telling Azzy first "Eh, I'm going to grab some water downstairs. Call me if you need me."
Walking behind the counter, down the hatch, the brunette refreshed herself with some cold, fresh water while sitting on one of the beds. She could hear the atmosphere upstairs getting more lively, thanks to the performance of Vina lightening up the mood of the customers. The melody of the drums and the flutes reverberated even through the floor into the cellar, a music that the maid from hell enjoyed a lot. "Now this is tavern music."
For a few solid minutes, all she could try to do was discern exactly what did @Azykia just hand over to her. These instructions felt like a mixture between random gibberish and actual... Instructions. She shouldn't be expecting much from a blind kid, but with how confident their counter-girl is, it almost sold her a completely different idea!
I don't get iiit! Azykia what is all this I can't read runes!
She pouted. At least the paper with visuals was, you know, visuals. Somehow this one is far more accurate, and it sure had to be enough for her to prepare future batches of food. Not so complicated, even! Except now things started to heat up across the Inn, and it wasn't just the kitchen being hot in general, but the lively voices escaping through the door were enough to alert her of two things: One, a lot of patrons with hungry bellies were incoming, and two- @Crimson Ruby is back!
"Have anything ready for our customers?"
Of course! Right under that towel. Contains the warm, so my sister says!
LIL' DOGGO beamed, pointing out to the table she's been working on and where three plates covered by said cloth on top of it awaited for Ruby.
"Thank you very much!"
Just before she could answer, DOGGO had ruby's hand ruffling her hairs all over, catching her on a giggling fit as a quiet smile spread over her lips, the gesture more than enough to compensate all the hard work she's been doing the last hour on it.
G-good luck! Bring me more orders when you come back Ruby!
She exclaimed, right as the beastfolk took her leave from the kitchen, leaving her with a bottling sense of satisfaction on her chest. Her smile faded for a moment, a thoughtful look settling on her as her eyes dropped.
Crimson Ruby... And she kinda sounds like her too...
Soon it started to click in her head, horror spread on her features as she yelped out of surprise and ran over towards the kitchen's entrance, pushing the door slightly open just to take a few peeks at the main floor, at all their clientele, and to the ginger-haired beastfolk maid herself going back and forth delivering orders.
jiĕjie?! No way, she can't be playing this game. She's too old for games!
Doggo muttered to herself, giving one last glance back to Ruby before running back into the kitchen, taking a few deep breathes to ease herself back into the mood, and rising her hands up to her face to clap herself a few times to snap out of it.
Fortunately, a certain purple haired fox jumped right into the kitchen to serve as distraction, an angel dressed as a maid! @Kyra Vashtana, who came by for some cups and a pitcher and dropped some more orders for her to handle.
Just what I needed, Thanks missus!
Quick waves given back to Kyra on her way out. Ah but she didn't mention her name, did she? Next time then, it would be rude not to address someone by their name and simply leave a honorific. Alas, there was enough to work with now that she looked over to the orders and begun to gather the ingredients to work on them. First things first had to be the main dish, an order big enough given the time it would take to cook in the oven.
Fortunately, the cuts of meat, salted already obviously, were all sizeable enough for the orders she had to fill, and only needed little work upon them. She took a moment to sharpen the kitchen knife with a whetstone however, and once the initial preparations for the fish were all set and the meat was left to simmer, LIL'DOGGO would take focus on the fruits meant for the salad, and the potatoes for after the fish was done with to bake.
But what is chopping vegetables and fruits without musing outloud some form of song? Afterall, everyone was having so much fun out there on the floor, might just come up with her own in these peaceful times at the kitchen.
And she has just the right song to sing along with the ceaseless sound of knives slicing through food. Thanks school friends!
There is an old tradition, a game we all can play You start by getting liquored up and sharpening your blade
You take a shot of whiskey, you grab your knife and pray And spread apart your fingers, and this is what you say...
Oh, I have all my fingers, the knife goes chop, chop, chop If I miss the spaces in between, my fingers will come off And if I hit my fingers...
The blood will soon come out!
But all the same, I play this game 'cause that's what it's all about!
No, you can't use a pencil, you cannot use a pen-
The only way is with a knife when danger is your friend
And some may call it stupid...
Some may call it dumb!
But all the same, we play this game because it's so damn fun!
Oh, I have all my fingers, the knife goes chop, chop, chop
If I miss the spaces in between, my fingers will come off
And if I hit my fingers, the blood will soon come out
But all the same, I play this game 'cause that's what it's all about!
Oh, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, I'm picking up the speed-
And if I hit my fingers, then my hand will start to bleed!
▣ Action: Doggo chatted with Ruby a bit, then took a peek from the kitchen door because lil sis moment. Begins to prepare the next 3 meals and the main dish, while making the preparations for a fourth future meal with the extra meat she's left simmering.
A cask successfully paid for, Kyra having hustled that man out of his game, and played one of her own. One would think the denizens of these villages would know better than to try and out-hustle the Vixens of the world. No harm, no foul, him and his many buddies would be able to get shit-faced tonight, for a price that wasn't too awful. -25 Mead. +15 Gold
The chattering rose, as with the music. Even people from around the nearby town and passing by the area who didn't intend to stop in originally were now made curious by the noise coming from this place. More came in, not looking for a room, but simply to socialize. Asking @Vina Skysong questions, or even a pair of elven women nodding their heads along to the tune, chatting up the catgirl @Crimson Ruby - noting that she must not be from around here. "Are you all starcalled?" one would ask, looking around at the attire of those working.
Azykia's advertisements work out for the better. The three Faerin are happy to buy a single 'A bed' for themselves, and hand over the money for the sale. +6 Gold. The man with the moustache sees his chance, walking forward to the blind girl, and waving to her. As redundant as that might be. He sauntered up close, his elbows down on the table, scanning her eyes. "Mia-rone, Ten gold pieces? That's steep, no? My wife and son are already on their way to this locale. Can't you let me room them for a mere Six coins?" His left hand stuck out, sadly jingling the only money in it. - What do you do?
Moonsong's rest was relatively easy. The water from the well was fresh, and untainted. A small trickle could be heard down the stone cylinder, a tell that it was part of a moving water network. Stopping it from being still. By the well, a large, clear square box with a hexagonal overlay design. And right by it, a tap still dripping honey, and 6 jars or the good stuff, still in need of sealing so that they can be transported. Wonder what those were for?
@Little Doggo having sung a song in her heart kept the time moving quickly. Able to juggle around the meals with some amount of effort, though it was nothing her smaller legs couldn't handle. Able to effectively charge for the three meals, as well as produce the necessary resources. Though she'd certainly have her work cut out for her. The hour shifted, more came in. Azykia, Ruby, Kyra and Little Doggo would soon be met with a demand for simple meals! Slices of meat, pieces of bread, and even a table of Ale needing to be served! All while the fish simmered nicely, ready to feed whatever hungry stomachs it could be given to.
2:00 PM
More food orders keep pouring in, though most are relatively simple. Some want bread, some want meat, some just want a bowl of fruit! These orders are expected to be fast, so perhaps some shuffling around of jobs can be done? It would round to about 20 or so orders of the lot total. Below is an estimate of the resources used thus far. While no full meals were orders, there are currently Two being prepared, and if they are monitored correctly, should make finishing them easier on the joints and Energy when it comes time to serve them.
260/300 Main Course -
280/300 Secondary
190/200 Ingredients
There are currently TWO Main Dishes being prepared.
The floor is currently Busy making it difficult to keep up with everything. People stand, move between tables, talk loudly or in whispers. This may affect the ability of those working the floor to meet orders in a timely fashion, though it certainly makes it easier to get the money flowing.
The Rokishire is seeing a casual influx and outflux of people. Adventurers stopping by for a quick meal and drink, and others with demands for more rooms. Many may begin asking questions, or even trying to chat up and socialize with those working the floor.
With Azykia's help and salemanship, a total of 4 Rooms has been sold. Two 'A bed', One 'Hovelis' Rest' and One 'Starcalled Suite'.
The current Mood of the tavern is Excited. The patrons have their energy rising in all forms. The music is good, though they will start requesting more local bard style songs. The bard may be heckled, or interrupted. They can't keep their hands off the menu, or stop asking questions, but are very quick to spend money when asked.
The Stage is currently used by Vina Skysong, who is generating High attention.
Maybe there are more details to be found with a closer inspection?

After what had to be the most promising cooking moment she had, and with everything warm and ready to be separated into their respective orders, DOGGO swatted a few beads of sweat out of her forehead. The heat of the kitchen wasn't the only problem, but the constant back and forth, jumping, even climbing to reach the ingredients she needed. Managing a kitchen all on her own proved to be simple... When you are homecooking for yourself, not for a whole Inn!
I need a break...
DOGGO sighed off and headed over to the kitchen door, pushing it open before giving a glance around to just how busy the entire floor had gotten. Not a single body she could recognize, not a familiar face to cling to now. It put her throat in a bind, whereas she would have called Ruby or Kyra with one high-pitched yell, now she fiddled with her hair and simply stared at nothingness.
F-food is ready...
Waltzing back in, DOGGO begun to check the list of orders that kept piling on her back like the very world decided to name her Atlas and put it all on her shoulders. Yet everyone was working themselves to exhaustation, and she had to match their efforts. Nodding to herself, and with a few words of encouragement mumbled into the air, DOGGO rushed over, a Faerin hurricane that waltzed through the kitchen like no 14 y old should, knife at hand and cheese on her left, rushing from side to side to keep track of the ingredients left and spices.
You can do this Bao... I'm Doggo, i'm the best cook in Terrasphere!
Optimism mindset, that's all she needed, and another glance at the list revealed just how simple everything was. Salads, bowls with fruits, mere slices of bread... The hard work would be to keep checking on their main dishes, aka, the big plate of seafood with side extras, but overall nothing bad.
Alright, no need to panic!
With an internalized battle cry, DOGGO did one check-in over the fish, then back to the pan holding the simmering meats before she begun to slide them over a set of plates. Potatoes for one, porterhouse cut for another, and ham with a side of rice to it.
With now everything ready to be delivered, DOGGO begun to focus strictly on the twenty or so orders, taking over a LOT of cups and plates, figuring some water was common sense these days for an inn, and Azykia said not to charge them for it so...
DOGGO shrugged to herself, gave a fancy twirl to her knife, and begun with the simple albeit ardous task, rather slow compared to the last few horus as the toll on her body started to wear down on her attention span, all vestiges of it poured upon the knife. Better be safe than sorry with the one task that could prove harmful should she let her sleepy self take over.

Even though the words were spoken softly and quietly, Kyra turned to look towards the kitchen as the call was made - just in time to see the small Faerin disappearing back into the kitchen itself, the girl looking absolutely exhausted. She hesitated for a moment - there were still individuals to serve, and newcomers to seat, but she doubted that would be important if there was nothing to serve
A quick glance across the room and Kyra's decision was made. She spotted Ruby a little ways away, sending her a Primal Aura image of the kitchen, before making her way across the room. She nudged open the door, sliding inside and leaving the relative noise behind for a dulled version of the sounds, and an extremely warm room.
"Hey! I saw you looked a bit...tired, and figured I would come and help a bit...or, try to help at least. I'm kind of a mess in the kitchen, but I think I can handle it with a bit of direction! I think."
She glanced over the obviously expensive and well-beyond-her-recognition equipment in the kitchen, feeling a moment of doubt at her previous enthusiasm. She was barely able to use her own personal kitchen, much less an industrial one.
"Uhh...okay! This might be a bit more difficult than I originally thought, but uhm...with a bit of guidance I think I can...do something...Just give me some pointers, maybe?"
Kyra listened as the smaller girl directed her towards a few of the dishes, rattling out what felt like commands with such haste that Kyra felt immediately overwhelmed. Her notebook out, she scribbled notations as quickly as she could, trying to make sense of everything as the other girl explained it, before smiling at Birbie.
"Okay! I think I got this. I shouldn't be in danger of burning the place down, right?"
Nodding to herself, she set to work, the knife she'd picked up moving slowly and carefully, the epitome of inexperience spoken in the struggles that were easily seen in her movements. As she slowly cut into the meats that were required - her own saliva beginning to drip from her mouth as she smelled the lovely scents beneath her - Kyra felt the blade nick one finger, pulling back immediately and running the blade along the length of her hand in a shallow slice.
She'd finished cleaning up the blood - using her hemomancy to secretly pull it out of some of the meats that she'd bled onto, before washing them and adding them to the dishes she'd been working on (making sure Birbie was distracted while she did so).
Carefully, she began preparing the vegetables - stocks of something green, and a few yellowed bulbs that she was unfamiliar with. All she knew was that Birbie had stated the dish would be some sort of vegan piece, containing things that Kyra had never seen, and hoped never to taste from the smell of them.
With her one-hour rest done, Moonsong went out of the basement onto a busy floor. Whoa, it seems that business is flourishing while she's chilling below. Quickly putting on her maid headband, she went to one of the tables that have patrons sitting just now. "Hello, welcome to Rokishire, how can I help?" Four people, that should be a manageable order. "Okay, two meads, two water, three pieces of bread, and two portions of stew."
Just when the maid was making her way to the kitchen to place the order, another group in the opposing direction raised their hands. "Coming," she rushed. "Welcome to Rokishire, how can I help?" Okay, now her memories started to get fuzzy. Fortunately, Moonsong used her big brain and conjured a floating list, which she used to write and memorize the orders. "Okay, please wait a minute. I will be right back with the order."
Rushing back to the kitchen, she found the exhausted BIRB. "Hey, what happened?" She knelt down to look at the Little Birb closer. "Don't get too exhausted, okay? Let lady Kyra here help." Moonsong told her while patting on the little girl's head, which might or might not sound like a threat. "Anyway, here's the order."
"Excuse me, coming through." The inn became busier and even busier. Holding two trays, the brunette tried to evade the traffic of customers before she tripped on her own legs, falling down and spilling the food everywhere.
Or at least it was one of the possible futures she saw. With her eyes glowing, Moonsong used her Astramancy to predict the best route to take efficiently without causing any problems. Now that one disastrous future has been avoided, she precisely evaded the customers with such grace and quickly served the orders. "Thanks for waiting, here's your order!"
Vina was having the time of her life, playing cheerful and lively songs to entertain the steadily growing audience. She could tell that the audience was having fun as well, the common room of the tavern becoming more lively and energetic. She just hoped her friends could keep up with the increase in patronage, given that there were only six of them and for the time being the vixen would be busy drawing in customers.
Of course, an increase in attention also meant that people had more demands for her. In between songs Vina would smile as a man came up to her and asked if she came here more often.
It's my first time here, but I travel all across the place~ You might see me again in the future, but I suggest sticking around for today if you want to hear more~
After all, she was here to help make sure that the tavern benefited from the harvest festival, so it was part of her job to encourage people to hang out for a while. As long as someone was in the tavern there was a chance that they'd spend money on something, although Vina herself had little interest in asking for payment in return for her performance.
Her ears swivelled as she was receiving requests from the audience, picking up all the sounds before she stood up straight and addressed the crowd, at least the part that was actively paying attention to her.
Hello everyone, I hope you're all enjoying yourselves~! It's the day of the harvest moon, so make sure to stick around for long enough to see the moon rise with the rest of us! Rokishire will be open all day, and we've got plenty of food and drink prepared for everyone~!
Leaning forward theatrically she smirked and winked, her tail wagging behind her even as she acted like she was about to pass along some wise words to the audience.
Just be careful with the sweets, or we might be visited by a bear~!
With those words she winked and turned her drum back into a lute, receiving laughter from some people who figured out the joke even before she began to sing once more, a tavern song which would be familiar to most people here. Vina was no stranger to performing in Terrasphere, and in part thanks to all the Travelers who had spread culture from Earth in this world she was quite familiar with most of the songs that the Landers liked and knew.
Seeing the orders piling up and the situation becoming slowly out of control with the small girl being overwhelmed in the kitchen, Ruby considered going there to give some assistance, but before she could turn to do it, Kyra was already on the spot, making Ruby pause and sway her tail while considering what she could do to help.
She took on the orders, continuing to deliver them while at the same time she tried to trace a route to serve with more efficiency and without taking redundant paths, even if it meant doing a small shift in the waiting line.
Ruby struggled at her plan, but tried to push it on, holding the platters and trying to not get her serving mixed up with @Moonsong.
"I... I will try to take this side, okay?" She said, delivering the bowls of fruits.
Doggo tried her god damn best to keep up with the orders. Running over here, climbing up this stool, opening that box to pull out the food. It wasn't even evening yet, and she was already being ran ragged, trying to keep up. And the orders just kept piling in, as did people shuffle in and out, or go out to their rooms. Luckily for her, help was on the way in the form of the purple foxgirl, Kyra. Already beginning to chop vegetables and prepare other stock for simpler or even more complex meals. This way, tools and stations didn't need to get switched around so much. Holds didn't need constantly readjusted, which would make their combined efforts more than just dividing the necessary effort, but also reducing the movement needed overall. Splitting Kitchen duties will reduce the energy costs for doing so, but less people on the floor may increase their energy costs.
Ruby and Moonsong continued to shuffle around the floor. Meeting needs and passing orders. Dividing the room between them. A group of women drinking loudly called over to Ruby, beckoning her over, and sliding her some coin. "Hows about you sit with us for a moment? Tell me about this beautiful place." A middle aged thin woman asked beneath razor-skinny eyebrows and large grey eyes. Inviting a chance at socialize, and possibly meet some people to the ginger catgirl.
Azykia had a more indepth plan. Throughout the room, a cacophony of conversations, chatter, laughs and jokes. Mixed with Vina's singing, it would be difficult to get to everyone, to remember who had ordered and who hadn't. Even for those who hadn't placed an order. While there were no Chandliers in the room as she had hoped, there were windows placed along every wall. Offering a view into the surrounding forest and the turning trees. With the right angle, she was able to use her own Divine Magic to get a sense of what was happening. There were those who didn't know anything at all about Inns. Starcalled who weren't aware of how they worked in this world. They spoke of wanting something nice for the pair of them, and of watching out for the woman in the corner. Your divine magic able to turn your attention to that, her eyes closed, but something about her own radius of energy spoke to being alert. Curious. Aside from that, a mess of more food or drinks being needed - the latter of which you were at the perfect station to help with. (-10 Energy)
Vina's song was more than well recieved. A song more local to this area of Brisshal, one that caused cheering. Hell, people even got up to dance, and sing along, almost drowning out the foxgirl part way through her own performance. They were more than risen in spirit by her constant performing. Letting their energy fill the room.
4:00 PM
The demand for food lessens, as things calm down for the moment. The next hour goes by relatively smoothly, without incident. Four o clock brings with it more need for ham, and some cooked meat. Even sandwiches with vegetables in it would be greatly appreciated. A customer jokes that they must be thankful for the moment to rest before Dinner Rush.
There are currently TWO Main Dishes being prepared. There is room for more.
The floor is currently Settled, while packed and nearly all of the tables full, with people standing and waiting for their turn to be seated, most people are satisfied with their current needs being met. Though suspicion grows around the room about some of the other patrons - and of the motives of the strange starcalled working the place who hadn't been seen here before.
The Rokishire is seeing a casual influx and outflux of people. Adventurers stopping by for a quick meal and drink, and others with demands for more rooms. Many may begin asking questions, or even trying to chat up and socialize with those working the floor. With the singing, dancing, and drinking, there is a general need for Water on the floor. Part of the information that Azykia found.
The current Mood of the tavern is Elated. The patrons have their energy spiked, people are dancing. While also bumping into each other, and spilling drinks. The music has perhaps gone too far, as they shout above it, rising tensions. There's shoving among the crowd, but its hard to tell how much of it is altercation, or friendly spirit.
The Stage is currently used by Vina Skysong, who is generating Very High attention. People reach out, or use their alcohol consumption to excuse their stumbling onto stage and crowding her.
All while a dark haired woman sits in a corner, eyes resting, and ears open. As well as leather clad men who speak of an archer that they'd like to recruit.

Nothing had immediately exploded, which Kyra felt was already a bonus. She'd managed to get through the first few minutes of the kitchen work without any further major faults, even preparing a single dish in the time. Although, it was nothing superbly complex.
"Hey this isn't so bad..."
The words were out of her mouth seconds before the rush came, and Kyra felt her regret almost immediately. She moved across the kitchen, almost tripping on a stool as she reached for the required ingredients, before rushing back across - almost tripping over the same stool again.
"How the hells...this is insane! Is this what...dinner rushes are like...in restaurants?!"
The words came in between her focused attempts at slicing meats, vegetables and numerous other pieces as she tried to follow the directions she was given. She knew almost immediately that she was out of her depths.
Another nick with the knife, and Kyra felt herself growl in anger and frustration, the temptation to try cutting the food with her scythe pushed aside only after the realisation that it would likely be more dangerous than the tools she had been given.
"I am so going back to the floor after this...this is insanity! How do people do this all day?!"
She whispered under her breath as she cursed her decision to attend the kitchen. She should've known that she wasn't fit for working in this location - her experience was customer facing. That's where she should be, where she belonged.
As she pushed aside what she had been able to prepare, Kyra breathed a sigh of relief mixed with exasperation. Whether Birbie had rested enough or not, Kyra knew she was done in the kitchen - she'd pushed her own talents and capabilities to the limits, and she knew that if she stayed any longer, there was a good chance she'd set something - or someone - on fire again by accident.
"Someone wanna come help out in the kitchen? Birbie needs a hand!"
She called out to the room even as she made her way towards the kitchen doors, determined to escape while she still could.
The brunette spotted a rather suspicious woman in the corner, just sitting there with her eyes closed. There was no malicious aura emanating from her, but something did set her off from the rest of the tavern patrons. Moonsong decided to ask her what's up.
Excuse me, welcome to Rokishire! Is there something I can help you with?
"No, that's okay. The gesture is appreciated. - Really, I am just enjoying the company of a crowd, and the song in my heart."
Familiar with the area of Brisshal from the songstress' travels, it would be immediately clear that her accent and mannerisms weren't the Massachusetts-Bostonian of the area. Even her attire was unusual - a black Yukata-like robe. She's obviously not from anywhere near here.
Moonsong decided to press her curiosity further, using her arcanamancy to predict and see how to get the best reaction from the woman.
I don't believe that really is the case, ma'am. My eyes can see things people couldn't, if you would believe me.
Is something bothering you? I can help with a lot of things, a lot.
She'd stop for a moment, steely pupils flicking back and forth between yours, a sweet smile playing on her lips.
"You're very kind. I am just waiting on someone - an archer. Someone dear to me is very concerned about him."
She stopped for a moment, folding her hands over her lap.
"Moonsong, was it?"
Her hand came up, presenting something to you. Pinched between two slender, delicate fingers, a small black coin. Smaller than a penny.
"You seem trustworthy. Perhaps you'll come talk to me again, when your time is more free?"
Moonsong silently nodded, accepting the Black Coin, turned, and walked back to the kitchen to continue serving the floor. There was certainly something off, but right now helping the tavern is her priority.
Cycle 4: Imagine Rolling Below 100 Injured (Right Upper Leg)
-10 SP (C3 Divine Magic Observation)
-X SP (Spectacular Show of Magical Mixing Mastery)
Imagine Leaving the Counter; Fancifully Dispensing Fountain Drinks
There was a moment between listening to the customer she had just helped on their way at the counter and taking in that which her divine scrying had revealed that the sort-of-manager came up with an insane idea. One that could only make her smirk to herself. She then grinned to the next customers in her current queue. "I'll be with you in a moment. Please make yourselves comfortable and watch the show~!"
And so it began. She had felt out how many glasses, pitchers, or anything else she might have, and decided that it was time to cause some consequences. Namely that even if this pitch of hers went well, she would probably have to stop to help with dishes after the fact. Still, it would all be worth it, surely!
With her hands, she began to settle mugs onto bright blue trays made out of her very own arcane magic floating off the back side of the countertop. The glow they gave off just barely reflected into the glass cylinders atop them, allowing her to know where each cup was at. Now came the hard part. With her hands done with their first task, she gripped the air with her left hand as though holding something steady, then began to make flowing, fluid gestures with her right arm and hand.
One large stream of water twisted into the air, then slowly trickled back down into each of the many glasses laid out before her. As the water lowered, she applied just a little bit of freezing to it to create a nice frosty chill, great for such a full room on such a hot day. Now with both hands, she began to gesture entirely differently, with far more grace in the simplicity of her motions.
The trays began to float out to every table in the room as she watched the streams and shapes of magic in the air move through the room from up high, then lower onto the tables she had counted out in the last couple hours. There was one tray in particular with two glasses set just in front of the woman in the corner, giving off a beautiful magical glow that only Azzy could see up until the moment all of the trays dispersed at the same time, with leftover sparkles of magic floating up into the air from each table and dissipating quickly into thin air.
With a proud giggle which she did her best to stifle quickly, she turned her attention right back to the patrons of the bar, refusing to show just how exhausting such an act was. "Right, so what can I get for you today~?"
The common room was alive, and Vina was in the midst of it all.
There was something intoxicating about inciting such enthusiasm to an attentive audience. Vina enjoyed music for music's sake, but she couldn't deny that she liked to share that enjoyment with as many people as possible, and watching them get swept up made things all the sweeter. In fact, she was enjoying herself so much that she completely forgot to consider the possibility that she was taking things a step too far. After all, while a lively customer was a paying customer, a common room where everyone was bursting with energy could also become difficult to deal with, especially if something went wrong.
So far nothing had gone wrong, however, and Vina wasn't going to stop now that she was in the swing of things. Tavern songs were quite entertaining, as they often had funny lyrics, but she herself was more inclined towards the instrumental performances. As such, as her song came to an end she pulled her violin out of her inventory as she deftly stepped out of the way of some people who had been invigorated to the point that they stepped onto the stage.
We're all enjoying ourselves, aren't we~? I hope you're not running out of energy just yet, because I can keep going for a little longer~
Starting the next song Vina would continue to dodge anybody who came too close, all the while playing her violin without pause even as she used her control over the winds to reproduce the sounds of the other instruments which were integral to the performance. While controlling the wind with such precision was a complicated task under normal circumstances Vina was in the zone, the white-furred vixen weaving her song as if it was second nature to her. Her entire body was her instrument, as her dancing feet produced sounds identical to those of a drumset.
Those people who were drunk or audacious enough to get onto the stage would find that the bard was nimble and agile as well, slipping between their bodies as if a ghost, a breeze following her movements. Her soft tail would teasingly brush against their legs as she passed them, dancing around them even as they put on their own raucous performance. One look at her face would also make it clear that she was doing this on purpose, her azure eyes carrying a mischievous glint as her lips curled up into a provocative smile.
She wasn't just entertaining herself, however. Her fellow workers would feel a soft breeze supporting their movements, making every step a little lighter as the infectious and seductive song filled the common room.
Gosh, there were few tasks as difficult as instructing someone. But to instruct this purple menace known as @Kyra Vashtana...
What a pleasant surprise! And one she took on right away, giving the exact pointers, and even going as far as swinging a wooden ladle around, like the little chef she feels like right now, pride swelling as DOGGO made sure to get across just EXACTLY how Kyra had to do it, but amist her flurry of words she ignored if their maid had taken on everything she had said, it cost her breath and a little yawn out of the faerin who greeted @Moonsong with sleepy eyes once the ashen warrioress knelt down to assess the situation.
That springed every hair atop of her head for a hot sec, because spooky big dragon woman! but everyone seemed to agree like a hivemind that she needed some rest. Her body set itself to argue, but when she tried to rise her arms in protest her shoulders barely responded with their usual ease. No, it took willpower and strength to do so, and that alone is enough of a sign to back off and let others take the reigns of the kitchen.
@Azykia I'm taking a quiiick nap. Wake me up if smoke comes out of the kitchen!
The Faerin called out for the blind girlie, waving at her a farewell, having completely forgotten of the fact she is, indeed, blind, before trotting about to the cellar, which inevitably meant going down ladders and what not, and the very prospect and eerie feeling amist the patches of dark almost reawakened thoughts of old stories full of ghosts and evil spirits lurking within the shadows.
jiĕjiewouldn't be afraid...
But that little whisper didn't have as much of an effect despite how hard she tried to brave her quivering knees. The silence didn't help in the slightest, her ears so used to the cackling oil, the knife over the table eagerly chopping vegetables, or even the patrons on the outside whistling and singing along with their prime musician at the stage. But eventually she did reach into the straw bed, tucking herself on the corner against the wall and bringing up her UI, going straight to her inventory. Lo and behold, salvation would materialize infront of her. A nice plushie ressembling an otter.
Her sole protector amist the shady lookin' cellar for her to wrap her arms around.
▣ Action: Delayed DOGGO instructions, then does as is told and heads straight to the cellar to take a nap with her plushie.

Several things had happened in the last hour that seemed to perpetuate the pleasant mood of the tavern. With music and merriment coupled with food and drink, it seemed like they had found their tempo. However, this was where they started to show whether they had the skills and fortitude for working in the business, or if they ought to just stick to adventuring. For Moonsong in particular, the latter might be especially true. Given the lure of strange women and their treasures, one might be led to believe that this was the beginning of a great journey. And that might be the case—but such a journey came at the expense of time and effort that could have been spent doing something else.
Vina’s tune has effectively invigorated her coworkers (+5 EN to Azykia, Moonsong, Kyra, LITTLE DOGGO and Ruby) though it has come at a cost to the artist (-15 EN) as she struggles to continue her tune when some of the patrons begin to step onto the stage seeking to invite the silver vixen to a dance.
The demand for food and drinks increases as the room is recharged by Vina's song. While the wait is beginning to increase for the time being the patrons seem oblivious to the fact, too enraptured by the entertainment as they join in cheers and dance... though their voices are beginning to drown out the orders for those on the floor and their erratic movements are potential hazards when trying to deliver platters of sliced meats, fresh fruits, and ale.
The LITTLE DOGGO had also gone on her break for a nap (+16 EN), and with only Kyra left in the kitchen the number of orders had begun to rise ordinately. It was nothing that she couldn’t keep up with if she continued at her current rate—probably—but the dinner rush had yet to drop itself into their laps, ready or not. Kyra had done her best to keep food coming at a steady pace (-10 EN), and even amidst the growing pressure the vixen managed to perform well , two additional main dishes now lined up along with an assortment of simpler orders for the rambunctious patrons. Kyra’s food is well received on the floor, though the same cannot be said for Azykia’s summoned water (-40 EN).
Upon seeing the water, thunderous applause and appreciative hooting and hollering came from the masses. What did not seem to happen, however, was their sudden refreshment. In fact, beyond simply seeing the strange magic woven and watching as water appeared from thin air, they seemed disinclined to touch it at all. In fact, several faces were visibly distraught at the idea that they might be expected to imbibe magicked fluids. "Booze!" they cried, "we want booze!" The crack and shattering of glassware and fine dishes reverberated with the steady roaring of the crowd as it grew to its crescendo. Messy patrons littered the floor with unwanted water and haphazardly, half-eaten food as they started to join together in song, dissatisfied with the sudden change of air.
They had been riled, some of them had been fed, and they had seen magic. Excitement was at a high, and there were still some number of hungry bodies awaiting service.
5:00 PM
The demand for food and drinks increases as the room is reinvigorated by Vina's song, causing additional work for the kitchen and those currently serving on the floor. Orders are still simple things—bread and cheese, sliced meats, bowls of fresh fruits—and the kitchen has been able to keep up with demand as a result.
There are currently FOUR Main Dishes being prepared...
220/300 Main Course -
260/300 Secondary
180/200 Ingredients
The floor is currently Messy as the riled patrons have scattered water through the floor, the clattering of plates and cutlery soon following as some clumsy patrons knock them out of their tables—their mess unnoticed as they join in chants that demand for booze while pounding their hands onto the tables. A cacophony of voices now resonates through the place, making it hard to understand orders.
The Rokishire is seeing a lower influx and outflux of people. Those currently in the tavern seem keen to stay, unwilling to pass up and miss the current revelries, though the incoming foot traffic has seemingly come to a standtill. Odd...
The current mood of the tavern is Riled. The room has been recharged once more, almost divided between the chorused chants of some patrons and the dancing of others. A feeling of déjà vu crosses those that have been tending to the floor the longest...
The Stage is currently used by Vina Skysong, who is generating Very High attention. Invigorated by her tune some of the patreons are trying to climb onto the stage and get the beastfolk to join them in a dance.
Guidelines
The word Maximum for this Cycle is currently: OPEN, write as much as you want.
There will be no word Minimum, so long as you put in a true effort. Muse can be a fickle thing at times after all...
The next Cycle will be posted in 24 to 36 Hours
For this Cycle, you will need to identify the Inn's needs, and serve at one of the above mentioned stations. The Kitchen will need manned and worked, orders will need proper communication, food and drinks served, and patrons will need socialized with to feel welcomed. There are many things the workers can do to assist in all of these, or even carve their own path to assist their co-workers.
This thread will be using Vesuvyan's Energy Action system.

Cycle 5: Calming the Commotion
-5 EN for calming the commotion
-10 EN for distributing ale
While Moonsong was minding her business trying to ask what was up with the lady in the corner, the situation inside the tavern turned worse somehow. @Vina Skysong's performance was so alluring that literally everyone was trying to get up the stage to ask her for a dance, causing commotion to build up. And after performing for quite some time, the druidess has to rest.
Uh oh, this is not good.
The brunette quickly went up the stage, getting the attention of the patrons. "Sorry gentlemen, we might not want to interrupt Miss Vina's rest for the evening, right? If we can keep it chill and nice, there's a round of ale coming to all of you, it's on the house." As soon as the words 'ale' and 'on the house' were uttered, the whole crowd cheered and went back to their seat. Looks like booze was everyone's weakness here.
"Go support Miss Vina from where you're sitting, alright? She'll be back after some rest." Moonsong gave thumbs-up to the exhilarated crowd before gesturing for Vina to go rest downstairs. Now, time to serve the ale.
With hands full of mugs, the songstress tried to move through the busy tavern. It was unfortunate that the floor was so messy, she slipped on whatever that sticky substance was, causing the brunette to slip and fall, pouring the mugs full of ale onto herself. "Well, fuck."
Cycle 5: OUTSIDE
-5 EN from station switch (Entertainment -> Outside)
As much fun as Vina was having, she did recognise when the situation might be spiralling out of control. People were making their way onto the stage in increasing numbers, apparently so enthralled by her performance that they wanted to join in. Their enthusiasm was appreciated, but if they got too pushy then Vina wouldn't be able to keep playing at the same time.
Moonsong appeared to agree with Vina's concerns, as she quickly stepped up and told everyone that if they sat down and behaved they'd get some free drinks. The silver-haired vixen smiled at her tough-looking companion, halting her performance to instead bow towards the audience once they went along with Moonsong's words and returned to their seats.
I'm glad you all enjoyed yourself~! I'll be happy to play again later, but for now, I'll be taking a short break. So drink, be merry, and if you want to hear more stick around~!
She swiftly hopped down from the stage, in time to see Moonsong slip on some of the mess the patrons had caused in their riled state and spilling several drinks upon herself. Vina made her way over to Moonsong, kneeling down to offer the female human help in getting back up.
Sorry, I might have made them a bit too happy~(She smiled.)It doesn't look like you're too badly hurt, but you'll have to be careful until we've had the chance to clean up a bit.
As she helped Moonsong back up onto her feet the vixen gave a mischievous grin as she drew a finger along a small patch of Moonsong's exposed skin to stain her finger with ale. Bringing her finger up to her mouth she gave it a lick and let out a pleased hum.
Tasty, but I imagine you'll still want to get a change of clothes~ I'll be getting some fresh air.
Stepping away from Moonsong Vina would give her a smile which was somehow simultaneously sincere and mischievous, then turn around and make her way to the entrance. Along the way she'd step around some of the patrons who still hadn't completely given up on getting her attention, her tail swaying from side to side behind her as she gave them all teasing looks.
Once she was outside she'd first close her eyes and take a deep breath, enjoying the colder air of autumn. After that she'd start looking around, feeling her body cool down from the almost feverish temper inside as she wondered why more people weren't heading for the inn. Maybe they realised that the place was already close to maximum capacity?
Kyra had made it two steps out the door of the kitchen before the chaos that was the main room hit her. For a brief breath of time, she'd paused, her arm still raised from opening the door, her foot half-lifted as she stared into the chaotic room that was roaring with excitement, merriment and whatever the hell that smell was.
Actually...the kitchen looks nice and welcoming. I think I'll stick around and help Birbie out a bit more...good luck y'all!
Immediately, she turned and made her escape back into the kitchen, re-donning an apron that she had hung at the side of the door on her way out. Smiling at Birbie as the girl returned from her rest, Kyra waved at the kitchen, working on a small dish of assorted vegetables that she had just had an idea for - combining a collection of capsicum of varying colours, with what appeared to be some carrots and coloured cauliflower.
I uh...decided to stick around here for a little bit! It's a bit too chaotic out there for me right now, and it looks like you're going to need the help in here! Uhm...anything specific that I should start working on now...?
After a vaguely unfruitful conversation with a group of customers, Ruby stood with a sway of her tails, having her ears perking up cheerfully with the music stimuli, that soon faded with the crowd getting way, way too excited.
It seemed like the quantity of customers had lowered, however, which was enough to catch her attention.
Seeing that @Vina Skysong was slipping out, the Crimson cat decided to take it as an excuse to take a look at outside, and as an opportunity to talk to her friend.
"Hey. Nice performance, like always... People got a bit too happy about it though." Ruby said, chuckling faintly as her ears went high up, trying to pick up on anything, along with her twitching nose and her focused sight.
By the time she got herself back up from the cellar, having stuffed her bear plushie back in her inventory, DOGGO noticed just the ruckus going on. People screaming, water spilled and even their precious FOOD was being put to waste. Just the scene had her heart break in half and sink. All the effort they put on the kitchen for their meals and what she and Kyra had built upon. All now lies on the dirty floor.
LITTLE DOGGO quickly ran off towards the kitchen, noticing her fellow chef just ready to nope the hell out of there. With her size, it didn't prove hard to wiggle past Kyra as she assessed the situation and took the most sane option: the heat of the oven isn't as bad as whatever hellfire is out there at the main floor anyways.
I uh...decided to stick around here for a little bit! It's a bit too chaotic out there for me right now, and it looks like you're going to need the help in here! Uhm...anything specific that I should start working on now...?
You are the best Kyra. Thanks for being here with me!
For a moment she just wanted to give the fox lady a big big hug to show her appreciation. Just the fact someone was helping them made the scene of earlier much easier to bear. At least she wouldn't have to rush from side to side, and she's pretty tall too!
LIL' DOGGO finally took over the pile of orders, scrambling them over the table to better look at each and every single one of them, her eyes rapidly skimming over them, albeit a tad nerveous this time around compared to the last... Of course, because there are a LOT of orders.
T-that's way too many orders. At least they are all pretty simple.
Alright, hmmm... Focus on the fruits, the bread and cheese. These are pretty simple and saves up time. Small servings though, we gotta rationalize!
With that, DOGGO begun to check over the amount of ingredients they had left, or at least to the cabins she could actually reach given her size, humming and nodding to the air with every pile of 'em she could find. It also helped to give an idea of where they would have to look for.
I'll find the stuff for you and if I can't reach it I'll let you know! Gonna be preparing the meat for you to chop chop, while I handle some of these big dishes we got on the oven. Don't wanna overcook em.
This way they had some semblance of order at least, and both had enough work on their backs to split to the best of their abilities. Kyra certainly had better strength on her arms and an easier time than she did to reach out for things. While doing so, DOGGO made sure to guide her along the process when necessary.
And also to make some chit chat along the way. In a totally not detective-like manner.
So uhm, Kyra? Wouldn't you happen to know anything about Ruby? Like, her, not like what she's doing right now.
She puckered up her lips, glancing about before dropping the next batch nearby for Kyra to work on.
▣ Action: DOGGO watches all the chaos and the wasted food and gets a bit sad. But fortunately Kyra is there to save the mood, plus cooking shenanigans!
