"Naruhodo, and the missing people disappeared two nights ago?"

There was a nod from the woman Toko had been speaking with, her eyes still red while the bags under them were prominent—likely unable to rest ever since her teen daughter had disappeared. The man beside her placed a comforting hand on the woman’s shoulder, exchanging a few words with the adventurer, before finally the hare excused herself with a nod. A report detailing unrest from the goblin tribes had caused the Guild to send out some of their members to check it out, Toko included among them, though upon arriving she’d been surprised to learn that the interactions between Rivercrest and Lübeck had seemingly escalated.

"So that’s a total of two women and two teens, a boy and a girl, that went missing."

The woman had disappeared when returning home from working in the orchards, having caused the first missing report to be submitted, while the teens themselves hadn’t been reported until the night after their disappearance—apparently it wasn’t uncommon for a few of them to sneak out of their houses from time to time, though never had they been gone for longer than a day. That unexpected piece of knowledge had puzzled the lepus, though she had soon pushed it out of her mind after determining it seemed to have little to do with the current disappearances once she’d discovered signs of struggles in the area where the two women had last been seen.

"I guess they decided to pick their own ‘tributes’ when the town refused to meet their demands."

“Are you looking into the disappearances too?”

As Toko looked around the last known location of the missing women, a small Faerin girl spoke up not far behind her. The girl stood just a few hairs under five feet, donning a cerulean hakama with dual tied long silver hair that tinted to a sky blue at the end, matching her eyes and bubbly smile in brightness. Next to her, a small albino fox yipped cheerily beside her, as if to greet the Beastfolk as well. Looking closer at the animal, one could notice that it had two tails instead of one, and sported a third eye in the center of its forehead that glimmered with the same bright blue as the girl’s.

Walking up to Toko, she gave a gentle bow, as did her odd beast companion. Then, she stood back up straight with a grin and a small pep, almost as if she were childishly standing up on her tiptoes for the extra few inches of height - which she most certainly was.

“Kuda and I were hoping to help, but truth be told, we’re not exactly experienced in doing this stuff yet,” the girl admitted with a sheepish giggle. “So far, all we’ve been able to tell is where they were at before they went poof; My name’s Katelyn, what’s yours?”

“Are you looking into the disappearances too?”
"Eh? Ah, yeah… I’m guessing you’re looking for them, too?"

Crimson eyes had turned towards the faerin once she had begun to make her way in Toko’s direction, her long ears having swiveled towards the sound of Kate and the beast companion once their steps had changed trajectory. A welcoming smile was given to both as they approached, with the lepus waving her fingers softly when the albino fox yipped cheerily in a greeting.

< Hello~ >

A welcoming feeling was shared towards the twin tailed creature before Toko turned her attention back to the smaller faerin, quietly noticing the lack of tags, whistle, badge or an armband that would’ve associated the woman to any of the current factions. Could she be a lander? No… she certainly doesn’t look like one, perhaps she’s simply unaffiliated? The bow from the pair was returned in kind by the hare, a grin now on her lips as she watched the silver-haired faerin.

"I’m Toko, it’s nice to meet the both of you," Best to get greetings and pleasantries out of the way first before either of them forgot, the adventurer nodding in Katelyn’s direction as she shared knowing their last location before the disappearance. "That’s amazing Katelyn-san! I was only able to gather a general idea of their daily routine and an estimate of when they disappeared, but a location would certainly help narrow the search for them down."
