The door closed behind the man as Kyra made sure he had gotten out without issue. Her new clinic was busy - far busier than she had expected it to be, or even wanted it to be. It was definitely an awkward situation, being dependant on others being hurt - she never wanted to have many clients, and yet a part of her hoped for it so that she would be able to pay her way. Definitely not a comfortable situation either way. Being a doctor comes with some questionable desires...

This had been the sixth person today who had mentioned the missing individuals in a small hamlet near Lübeck - a place known as Sanyo. Each individual had mentioned, mostly in a gossipy way, about some disappearances in the area. The only thing they had all agreed upon was the fact that a small group of elderly had disappeared over the last few days, usually one or two simply vanishing into the night air. No one had seen them go - in fact most had been seen only hours previously, before simply ghosting into the void itself later in the darkness.

Kyra quickly closed up her small clinic, packing away the few belongings she needed as she considered the situation. Normally, she'd reach out and see if there was anyone in the area who could look into it - but she was feeling restless, needing to get out after the Lúthien incident. Besides, it's not like I can't handle myself. I'm more than capable. I don't need someone else holding my hand. She continued shoving things into her pack, before slamming it onto her back and moving out the door. She could handle a little bit of investigation, so long as she was careful.

The village wasn't anything like Kyra had expected. Lübeck had been a large city, full of life and obviously a center of civilisation. Sanyo, on the other hand, seemed almost archaic - very few buildings, only a few individuals out and about. Most of those Kyra saw were hesitant, wary of her as she passed by them.

She let her gaze roam over the few buildings that made up the village - most of them homes to the population who lived here, although a few of them held the appearance of shops and workshops. She wasn't quite sure where to start, and found herself standing in the middle of the road. Shrugging to herself, she raised a hand in wave to a nearby woman, deciding to simply ask rather than waste time trying to figure out the best next steps.

"Hey there! I'm trying to figure out anything about these disappearances...and...guess not..."

She watched as the woman slipped away, simply turning and heading the other direction as soon as Kyra mentioned her purpose for being there. She stood, watching in utter confusion as the nearby individuals disappeared indoors, leaving her alone in the street as an eerie feeling washed over her.

"Forget it. They won't say anything about it."

Moonsong called out to the purple-haired vixen, leaning on the side of a building while doing so. "They all gave the same look and hauled ass away." She walked towards the woman in the middle of the village, showing her a piece of paper before Kyra could ask any question. Moonsong really gotta stop pulling out papers in front of everyone one day, she's making herself look like a cop and that's the Lion nerds' job.

"Guild investigation. Reports of disappearances around Sanyo are very concerning I had to take a look."

If one were to look at the paper closer, it detailed external reports of missing individuals, particularly elders of Sanyo. They were gone without a trace, almost like disappearing into the void. The report itself was not detailed, probably because the villagers here didn't even want to talk about it.

Putting back the document back into her pocket, the brunette greeted the fox beastfolk properly. "Anyway, how have you been, Kyra? Haven't seen each other since, well, summer." She was surprised to see her here, considering Sanyo is near Lubeck, and Lubeck is a shithole of a place. Wasn't she running a clinic or something lately? "Also, nice new look."

Her head cocked to the side as the girl praised her. She recognised the individual, but it took her a few minutes to place the name, minutes that allowed the other to continue speaking as Kyra simply peered at them.

"Moonsong. Been a while, yeah. Thanks. I uh...came across it in a shop, it's a bit of a stop-gap between my old piece and my new piece...but I feel like it fits well."

She raised her arms and did a slight twirl, as if to show off the piece more thoroughly. As she came back round to face Moonsong, she considered the fact that someone else had already been sent on the investigation. It wasn't what she would've liked, but at least it was someone different.

"So...you were sent out to check into this? Or you made the choice to do so?"

She tried to appear lighthearted and uncaring in her question, waving a hand as if to pretend it was nothing more than conversation. She realised fairly quickly that it likely wasn't working.

"Mind if I join you...? Some of my clients back in...back at my clinic, mentioned a bit about this. Likely nothing useful, but maybe enough to get us started? Assuming you're okay with tagging alongside me, that is."

She shot Moonsong a beaming smile, waiting for the other's response. She doubted they'd say no, but she also didn't know Moonsong well enough - having only travelled with them a few times before. Far from her usual crowd, not that it was a bad thing.

Kyra twirled, showing her the whole view of her new armor. "Yup, nice fit." The brunette nodded her head, before getting back to business. "I offered, of course. Higher ranking members were somewhere even more dangerous, and the others were busy slaying chickens." She muttered flatly, not sure where the conversation is going, before raising her eyebrow at the woman "Why?"

Suddenly, she wanted to tag along. There were no rules preventing outsiders from meddling in Adventurers Guild business, but still...

"I mean, it's a Guild investigation, so..."

Shit, here comes the smile. Moonsong is apparently weak to this kind of smile, also the one Naomi shot her with during Summerfest. "... fine, you can tag along. I'm not splitting the reward money, though." She pondered for a while, as they don't have any trails to start with.

Moonsong motioned for her to walk with her toward one of the houses, pointing at the wooden door. "This is the house of one of the people who went missing. They don't want to talk, and there's no one outside to stop us so..."

BAM

In a totally unexpected move, the songstress kicked the wooden door flying with massive strength, before gesturing Kyra to come in like she was the owner of the house. "Let's invite ourselves in and search for clues, shall we?"

BAM.

The door slammed open as Moonsong created an entrance for them. Kyra blinked, twice, before stepping in and to the side. Placing a hand on the door, she turned the unlocked nob, before looking back at Moonsong with an almost stoic expression, the judgement and humour in her eyes saying more than her face did.

"Mmm...good thing they don't lock their doors here."

She let her eyes leave the other woman, glancing over the room itself. Everything appeared oddly normal, the table cleared away in preparation for...well, most likely the evening. Dishes were set to dry, after having been washed - now entirely dry, after the night's passing. She could see the hearth, stone cold, signifying that it hadn't been maintained for a number of hours, at least.

She moved through to the two other rooms in the home, one a bedroom with a makeshift wash closet, the other what appeared to be some sort of luxury room, used for storage. Neither gave off the feeling of having been used recently.

"Does it feel...oddly abandonded to you?"

Her eyes roamed over the entire house, trying to figure out how it felt so off, as if it had been left untouched for months, or years, rather than just days at most. Her brow furrowed as she stepped across the main room, running a hand along the table before glancing at it.

"No dust...and there's no lingering smells...nothing. It's void of smells."

Her tail twitched in an agitated way, the entire place felt off to her, something wrong with it that she couldn't put her hand on.

"Maybe best not to touch the belongs of the Reaper...wouldn' be wantin' you to get marked now, wouldn' we?"

Kyra spun on the spot, a harsh growl erupting from her as the hair on her tail stood on end. She spotted the man, wrapped in dark clothes and what appeared to be some sort of face cloth, standing at the doorway, his hands held up in a clearly calm manner, no weapons in sight.

"Who are you?"

Kyra hissed the words as she glanced between the man and Moonsong, her hand drifting towards her scythe as she tried to figure out what to do.

"Easy now...easy now...I's jus' the gravedigg'r round here...means no harm. Jus' not be wantin' to dig anoth'r grave, yeah? Bes' not to touch anythin' you don' need to..."

She looked at Kyra, who was currently turning the doorknob, showing that it wasn't even locked in the first place. Well, at least she got to bust open a door? "Yeah, good thing." Moonsong wittily replied, before going inside the living room to investigate. The room was well-maintained, as if the owner were planning to go back here like they do every single day, yet everything was arranged perfectly.

The brunette went to the bedroom. It was so tidy that it was sickening. Walking closer to the bed, she tried to sniff the sheets and the pillow. Not a single scent was left, not even fragrance.

"Does it feel...oddly abandoned to you?"

Moonsong agreed with Kyra's opinion. "Yeah, I don't even make my bed every day. This person's house is clean, too clean. Like they know that they would not mess with it anymore." Maybe they are dealing with a clean-freak, psychopath here?

"Maybe best not to touch the belongs of the Reaper...wouldn' be wantin' you to get marked now, wouldn' we?"

As the vixen reacted, the songstress quickly stopped her hands, as the man did not radiate any malevolent Aura. Turns out, he was only the gravedigger around here. Weird, what is he doing creeping around the village like this when everyone else locked their door behind them?

"Reaper? You're talking about the owner of this place?" Looks like they hit the jackpot then. This house might have belonged to the perpetrator of the disappearance, not one of the victims.

"You hear' right. They call'd him The Reaper, shroud'd in black and all sorta thin', leadin' people right'a the afterlife."

Bringing people straight to the afterlife? That's why the elderly have been missing? Again, this makes less sense than before, so the woman looked at her purple-haired companion, who might look as lost as she was. "I'm not afraid of the Reaper," Moonsong scoffed, "Do you know where he is?" There's no detectable malicious intent coming from the man, so she would assume that he was telling the truth.

"Stay'd 'ere, like, weeks or months ago, I forgot. Used to go to east oft'n, to the woods."

There, they got their clue. Moonsong quickly wrote a note and left it on a table. "Guild members will come later to sweep this place. Let's go, Kyra."

Her hand hovered for a moment, staying close to the scythe as she listened to the conversation between the gravedigger and Moonsong. The woman seemed to accept his information almost without question, quickly leaving a note and explaining that other guild members would likely arrive later.

"Should...we wait for them?"

The question felt silly, especially seeing as it wasn't out of fear. Simple pragmatism, await those who may be arriving later, so that you had everyone together. That didn't seem like the plan for Moonsong, however, and Kyra gave a sigh as she made her way towards the door.

"Guess not...alright, but I swear if we meet the actual me...you're making the deal."

Her ears twitched slightly in agitation. The last thing she wanted to do in a death game was meet an actual reaper, the thing she had based her own design off. Still...there was an oddity here, especially if the man mentioned the reaper having-

Her thoughts stopped suddenly as she spun around, finding the man gone, as if having vanished from sight. She swore softly under her breath, but saw no sign of a trap, or any danger to the two of them. Shrugging it off, she forced herself back on the path that she had been taking. They had their direction, east it was...

"Alright, we've been on the trail for a few hours now...any thoughts on what we're looking for? Dark cave? Boat in the middle of a puddle? Maybe a...I don't know a-"

Her words came to a sudden stop as she, herself, stopped dead in her tracks. Her eyes lingered on the shapes in the fog, trying to figure out what she was staring at, knowing deep in her mind exactly what it was.

"Moonsong...don't...move...a muscle..."

As they left the house, Kyra asked whether they should wait for reinforcements. "The faster we get to the end of this, the better. Besides, we're more than capable." And that was true, even by only sensing her aura, Moonsong could tell that Kyra had grown exponentially from the last time they met. "Kyra, if we do meet the actual Reaper, I will punch it in the face." She joked, smiling at the vixen, but behind it, a hint of sadness was hidden.

The gravedigger was gone, as fast as he appeared in the front of the house. The brunette paid not much heed to that, after all, if he lead them to a trap, they can and will kick his ass.

The woods towards the east was a place unfamiliar to them, the high trees obscuring the lights coming into the forest. "Honestly, no clue," Moonsong admitted that she might lead them into a wild chase. "So far there was no track or anything, but that guy had no reason to lie." It just wouldn't make any sense.

"Anyway, it's pretty foggy around—"

Moonsong quickly stopped and hid behind a tree as Kyra spotted something. Not one, but a few of them. What the fuck are those things? "... They have no aura." The songstress whispered to her partner, noticing something about the slowly-moving silhouette beyond the fog. It looks like they stumbled on something that is connected to the Reaper, but on the other hand, they really have no knowledge of whatever those things were that awaited them.

Ghosts? The Undead? Fucking Zombies? Literal Reapers?

"Let's sneak around, try to avoid them for now. Use the fog and the trees as our cover." If they circle around, there might be something on the other side. Better to avoid potential confrontations for now. Tiptoeing in full armor in the forest might sound really silly, but it's manageable with a gravity-assisting astramancy spell.

"Mmm...yeah, going around might be a good..."

She'd started to agree with the woman, when her voice suddenly dropped off. Her ears twitched as she tried to pick up the sound she'd just heard. She wasn't sure what it was, and yet she felt called forward towards it, as if it needed her.

"Did you hear...that..."

Her voice was distant as she leaned forward slightly, her ears twitching towards the silhouettes in an attempt to catch the sound again. Without realising it, she'd begun to take steps forward, heading into the fog ahead of them as she searched for...well, she wasn't entirely sure what she was looking for.

"I swear I heard...something..."

Before she'd realised what she was doing, Kyra had managed to walk past the silhouettes. None of them appeared to react to her presence, and belatedly Kyra realised they were little more than statues along the edge of what was clearly a recently used pathway.

"They're just stat...hey, Moonie there's a graveyard up here."

She gazed at the odd locale, before it clued into her just why it was so out of place. She glanced back towards Moonsong, her face an expression of pure confusion as she tried to figure out what was going on.

"That village had a graveyard...didn't it? Just to the east of the main entryway? I swear I saw one...so, what in the nine hells is this place? Aside from absolutely creepy, I mean."

She gripped the scythe on her hip tighter, an eerie feeling towards the entire thing. Something was just wrong with the very essence that hovered over the place they had found. Undetered, Kyra stepped forward towards the tombstones, curiosity and absolute lack of logical consideration driving her forwards.

The fog subsided a little bit, as they were to see the figures guarding the area. It was just... statues? Moonsong could swear that they moved their head inside the fog, but no, they were actually stone statues. Fuck, things started to mess with their heads. "Could have sworn that they were looking at us." Kyra would've felt the same.

What is this place?

"Yeah, it had a graveyard, complete with a weird gravedigger. This place is a few hours' walk from that village." Eerie. A graveyard in the woods, shrouded by fog and darkness. Somehow sunlight was still able to find its way into the depth of this forest.

The songstress literally walked up to a tombstone, inspecting it and the ground around it. "No names. Clean tombstones. Soil is still loose." A shivering feeling shot up her spine upon touching the tombstone. As if something was waiting below and could jump out at any moment.

Fuck.

"This might be the domain of this so-called 'Reaper'. Be careful." Should they wait for reinforcement? Nah. It'll take hours for the guildmembers to reach this place.

Among the tombstones around the cemetery, there was a crypt further down the path that caught Moonsong's attention. Pointing at it, she gestured to the vixen to ready herself for anything that might be inside. She conjured a shortsword, slowly walked towards the crypt, and pressed the door with her left hand.

She drew the scythe naturally, letting it hang loosely in her hand - prepared, but not over gripped. She could feel the oddness about the graveyard, an air to it that seemed to scream danger, ever so silently. Something about the place just felt off, in a way that Kyra had begun to recognise of dangerous situations.

Moonsong had headed for the crypt almost immediately - the most obvious place in the entire cemetery. The door swung open softly, no creaking or groaning as one might expect from such a location. Kyra's breath had been held - an action that she didn't even remember taking. Softly, she let it out as she felt the tension that had build drift away ever so slightly.

"Guess there's no Reaper behind door number one..."

She threw a smile towards Moonsong as she moved up next to the woman, her eyes casting into the darkness that lay behind the doorway. She could see a stairwell heading down, curling out of sight. She considered for a moment whether or not to head inside, before shrugging and moving past Moonsong.

"Come on, I bet you we won't find anything more than some dusty bones..."

The staircase had led down into a larger crypt, side corridors leading into areas that seemed to stretch beneath the graves themselves. Kyra couldn't help but wonder at the immense size of the underground tomb, glancing in the four different directions before looking back up at Moonsong.

"Alright...any preference on direction? Seems like we've got a few options here, and none of them looking overly appealing to me."

Pushing the door open, it swung slowly and smoothly, as if it was maintained everyday. Peeking inside revealed a dimly-lit underground tomb. "What." Moonsong whispered in confusion. "This is a full-on Skyrim dungeon." It was. The way down was quite deep she could still hear the echoes of the door opening.

Together, they went down the stairs. Moonsong dismissed the shortsword and summoned one of her signature greatswords instead; ready in case of combat. There are lit torches fixed on the pillars and the walls, but the lighting is barely enough to see anything suspicious down here. Making her way down, she made sure not to step on any traps, though there weren't probably any.

Kyra arrived at the bottom first, confirming that it was safe for now. There were, however, four directions to go from there. Splitting up was always out of the question. What kind of stupid fuck would split up in horror movies anyway.

The brunette took a deep breath, before exhaling and giving her input.

"Let's just go straight. I could feel some air coming from there." Also probably because `when in doubt, go straight`.

They proceeded to move through the said corridor, though it was getting darker and darker. Her weapon glows, so that's helping a bit. As they walked, a wind breezed past them, creating sounds as it blew through the corridor. "What the fuck," The songstress reacted. Even with the angry face she put on, anyone could tell that she was not a fan of these creepy things. "Let's move faster."

The corridor was leading to a brighter room. Making a gesture to slow down, Moonsong peeked her head into the entryway.

Kyra followed along behind Moonsong for a while, noticing the continued discomfort the other woman was showing. She couldn't help but giggle to herself, especially after the woman spoke up, bringing her discomfort to the forefront - and making it no longer something that could be easily ignored.

"You know...this place is super, super creepy. Do you think we'll run into like...ghosts, or something? Have them just slowly phase into existence, reach out to you softly and..."

She jumped forward, grabbing Moonsong by the waist in an attempt to scare her, before jumping back and giggling softly to herself. The whole area definitely carried an almost haunted vibe to it, and Kyra couldn't help but wonder what they were going to find down here.

A light ahead caught her attention, a soft blue glow that seemed to shimmer slightly, as if there was some sort of light filtering out of the area ahead.

She nudged Moonsong, nodding towards the blue glow before whispering to the other individual.

"That looks promising...maybe we'll even find a ghost or two, just for you."

"Kyra, ghosts don't exist, okay? People just made th—KYAAAH!" Moonsong was lecturing the other woman about how those things couldn't be real before the vixen grabbed her by the waist, causing the brunette to scream like a little girl echoing all across the underground tomb. She quickly turned around, giving the purple head the deadliest death stare she had ever seen, with cheeks reddened like tomatoes. "Do not pull that shit again on me."

They entered some kind of a vast room, with multiple sarcophagi on the corners. There's a table in the middle, with parchments spread out on top of it. Ominous, blue torches illuminated the entire stone room.

"For the last time, Kyra. I'm not afraid of ghosts, okay? Ghosts don't exist." Of course, they are actually real in this world, because Spirit Magic is a thing. She went to inspect the table, trying to understand what was written on the parchments. Unintelligible, except for the drawings of people on it. "Could you read this? Looked like scribbles to me."

While she left Kyra to investigate the desk, Moonsong went towards one of the sarcophagi on the corner. As she touched the stone door, it somehow budged a bit. "Fucking shit." The brunette cussed at the phenomenon, quickly aiming several floating swords toward it.

Kyra turned her attention towards the sarcophagus that Moonsong had pointed out, squinting against the dull blue light that seemed to provide the only visibility in the room. Her ears twitched in response to Moonsong's interaction with the other areas of the room.

"Sel...selec...intwar...uhntum bo bafar....it seems to be some sort of language. I've never seen this before...etwin orh advarn mutevec corrinto..."

The sarcophagus suddenly cracked, the edges that had kept it sealed releasing air that had clearly been contained within for quite some time. A wind of musty-scented air passed over Kyra, causing her to wrinkle her nose in response.

"Ugh disgusting...well, that did something..."

The words had barely left her tongue when the lid slid off to the side, revealing the entombed corpse within. Almost immediately a moan began to rise from within the now-opened sarcophagus, the body within beginning to twitch in response.

"Moonie...Moonie! I think I made a mistake! I uh...woops!"

She reached for her scythe, drawing the weapon in one calm movement before raising it up into a defensive position. A growl began to resonate from her own throat, her feet sliding back into a fighting position as she readied herself for the thing to rise up.

The growl slowly faltered away as Kyra noticed something, the lack of any lifeline connected to the thing. She paused, her weapon lowering slightly as she cocked her head.

"Well, that's weird..."

Almost instinctively, she reached forward and attempted to poke the thing in the face, her hand stopping suddenly as she painfully slammed it into the closed lid of the sarcophagus, the image vaporising as she touched it.

"An illusion...?"

"The fuck is that scent?

The brunette looked back. The sarcophagus nearest to Kyra suddenly opened revealing a moving, rotting corpse. It seemed that whatever language Kyra chanted triggered this chain of events, awakening whoever was inside that stone coffin. Undeads are almost always bad news, so Moonsong quickly jumped, her floating swords ready to fly.

Again, there was no aura emitted from that thing. No killing intent, nothing. The songstress was about to fill the sarcophagus with her blades before the vixen noticed that something is amiss, probably because she has spirit magic. "What?" As soon as the beastfolk tried to touch the corpse, the image dissolved.

"Illusion trap. Someone was expecting us."

The other sarcophagi in the room then opened at the same time, revealing multiple groaning corpses. Moonsong quickly dispatched the illusions with blades shooting through them, making the visual horror disappear.

Exhaling from relief, Moonsong looked at Kyra, pointing at the empty sarcophagus. "No traces of any real corpse, as far as I can see." Inspecting the corners of the room for the last time, Moonsong led the way to exit the first room.

"Let's scan the other rooms, carefully. We don't know what traps this Reaper person has prepared for us."

One thing was certain, this guy was obsessed with the undead, souls, zombies, these kinds of necromancy horror thingy. Moonsong, on the other hand, was not a fan of any of those.

No real corpses was definitely a position, but Kyra was not a fan of that fact that someone had clearly anticipated guests. Especially seeing as that anticipation did not include a nice, welcoming front door with a place to hang your jacket...or whatever people had out front for guests.

"Careful would be good...wouldn't want to accidentally waken the ghosts of this place, right? I mean, this is a crypt, just imagine how many dead bodies there are in here! That could be a lot of ghosts! Or maybe banshees...zombies...skeletons...you name it!"

She giggled at her joke, before reminding herself that she probably shouldn't antagonise the individual who was helping her too much. Last thing she wanted was to get stabbed because she took her jokes a little too far, or because she cried wolf. Alright let's focus on finding creepy reaper dude stealing the old folks then.

"Actually...come to think of it, why would a necromancer be stealing the living anyways? I mean, I know most of the people who went missing are likely one-foot-in-the-grave types, but...would you want to wait for them to actually die? Seems kinda...counter intuitive, no?"

She wasn't sure, but the entire thing wasn't making sense. Everything she knew about necromancers spoke to them dealing with the dead, not the near dead. Whatever was going on, it wasn't making sense to Kyra in the slightest.

Moonsong was really going to literally deck Kyra in the face if she kept teasing her about the ghosts. Fortunately, the vixen seems to realize the brunette's really angry death glare and stopped making jokes about it. "Focus, Kyra." She deadpanned as they backtracked to the first hallway.

Alright, that was one room cleared. This time, the woman pointed to the corridor leading to the left side. "Good point, but we don't know if this Reaper guy is actually a necromancer," Moonsong muttered, pondering about the motive. "He might be a weirdo obsessed with kidnapping old people, for all I care." Because so far, the underground tomb is nothing but a fake horror house.

As they traveled through the corridor, which is slightly longer than the previous one, some faint groaning sound echoed across the place. "Ugh." Moonsong let out an uncomfortable sigh. They proceeded without any hindrance, though. Finally, a faint purplish light could be spotted near the corner leading into a room, this time with a wooden door.

"Look at that, your favorite color. You go first."

Moonsong was definitely uncomfortable with the underground crypt. Kyra felt her ears twitch in amusement at the realisation - the girl was likely afeared of the undead, which meant they were in about the worst possible location that the other player could imagine.

"You don't need to worry...I'll protect you."

A quick beam of a smile, before her attention turned towards the door in front of them. The purple glow coming from around the edges had Kyra curious, and hesitant. It was obvious that someone would be on the other side of the door - or at least, there was a good chance of it. Unless they left the lights on...

Setting her shoulders, and holding her scythe at the ready, she pushed on the door. She felt herself wince slightly as the door squealed open, revealing a large room beyond - an almost blinding glow hitting her eyes immediately, and forcing her to look away while she adjusted to the sudden light.

When she looked again, she saw a huge stone room, clearly the main centre of the crypt itself. Tall pillars ringed the outside areas, providing support for the high ceiling. A raised platform in the centre, likely a place where things like a coffin, or other such display pieces would be kept. Brazier's ringed the outside of it, creating the blinding light. A purple flame burned in the centre of each, connecting to-

"The hell? Is that a person?!"

Kyra rushed forward, trying to reach the body that seemed to levitate in the centre of the braziers. It was hard to tell with the light - the one downside of her enhanced vision was how overpowering the simplest of changes could be.

Kyra opened the door. The purple light emitted from inside was incredibly blinding to their darkness-adapted eye. This new room was so massive even the creaking door caused so much noise to echo around, and also obviously the main room of whatever the purpose of this dungeon.

Four braziers on the corner of the raised platform in the middle of the room, each emitting some kind of energy that Moonsong could even feel with her Aura mastery. And at the center, the energies converged to what looked like...

"The hell? Is that a person?!"

Shit, it is. This time it must be real person, with the amount life-forces bouncing around this room. "That can't be good."

Moonsong rushed behind Kyra, heading into the platform before they collided with some kind of magical purplish shield surrounding the braziers themselves, preventing them from even getting closer. "Magical Shield." As if they triggered an alarm, a haunting hum produced by the pillars quickly filled the room, the braziers flashing quickly like a siren, and the door where they came from closed itself.

"Fuck."

Moonsong quickly conjured her arsenal of swords, each pointing to every corner of the room, in case of an enemy ambush. "Kyra, can you see something?" The songstress shouted. The fox beastfolk should be able to sense whatever was coming to them better than her.
