Bluebird likes to sing, and I, having taken a creative writing class once in my life, has made the dubious decision to write actual lyrics for songs she sings. And so here is a thread to catalogue all those songs lyrics and the songs they're based on.
Depending how I feel, I might write extended versions of these. And if I'm feeling really extra, I might even pull out audacity and embarrass myself. Don't count on that, though.
Through a sky stained blue do the stars tumble through
And alight upon the land
Through the spring-green sea they e'er travel free
'til among thee they do stand
Day and night, the stars cast their light
Shining oh so clear and bright
Every word and deed a service, their creed
To rise up against the night
And the dark before the dawn fades
As sun's light spreads across the land
But if shadows rise, flood forth like a tide
Stand tall, hearts and hopes aligned
Shadows gather dark on the horizon,
Let us steel our hearts and souls to stem their tide
Hand in hand we ride forth to those far-off lands,
Trusting in the allies standing strong at our side
Look to the stars shining oh so bright
