"Hold onto anything you can!"
Thomas shouted as he a trained eye on Kyanna as the beastfolk, careful to how the witch could react to being so suddently forced back up to her senses. Expecting to see her out cold for a little longer, he felt lucky to see this wasn't the case, giving the woman a short-lived smile as the monstrous entity kept tailing behind them. That, and Tock had taken over to nursing Kyanna.
"Tock-TiThOuGht ToCK haDs-loSt YOOuUUU!" Tock nodded, trying to put herself together and snap out of this sobbing mess she found herself on, not only did the oil kept spilling down her cheeks, but her sight had blurred to the point of perfect darkness given the caverns's lack of light, with only the unlit fires remaining and the spells being hurled as the only thing lighting up for her to see.
As if it weren't enough, the world begun to spin and her feet turned lighter, thrown into a zero gravity that was revealed to be just her body sent out of the wagon once the gravitational pull returned. Or rather, she realized it begun to go downwards, with only one hand keeping her from the abyss beneath them, and a giant smile crossing her face as she turned up to see whose her savior.
"KYAAAA!" She couldn't hold it back, not when it felt so much like a dramatic fairy tale. Self-preservation kicked in for the puppet, lending another hand up to grasp their transport and, with the help of the black witch, send herself flopping onto the ground once again.
"P-phew, just like that one time with Robo-mama, Kyanna's here to save Tock!"
The ravenous bats Kyanna brought forth helped chipping down their pursuer, tearing at it's flesh and opening new wounds that forced it to pull it's hand back, exposing much of the forearm for Eva's bullet hell- There was not a pleasant sound escaping from it's blackened jaws. Pain or anger, one could not tell given the ferocity within it's glowing orbs. Yet the distance begun to grow bigger and bigger as it begun to slow down.
As each bullet pierced and even it's own resilience quivered at the weight of both gunpowder and toxin alike, with more than enough holes and lead cast into it's arm, one could hear the whimpers of a wounded beast that tried it's hardest to bring chase. The Left arm stands eager, and yet the right lags behind with every thrust onto the ground, until the pace was lost, and it's face vanished behind as the blinding orange on the skies alerted them of the outside world.
"Gah! Tick burns! No respite after all that?!" A cat's hiss escaping her lips, pulling from the reigns to halt the horses before they could go flying down the mountain, turning back to watch with horror at the group.
"...Err, did Tick mention it's rented?" Leave aside everyone's looks, which were downright horrible as if they had just woken up from a nightmare, but their transport sure looked like it went through hell with all the black, charred spots.

"Nice work..."
Thomas gave a pat over to Eva's shoulder, weary expression left the beast man dropping down his seat once again, with his heart racing and the prospect of safety keeping him busy from the road. It didn't help to hear the monstrous echo of a roar from whence they came, as if it were dropping a curse on the party for their transgressions.

"Well now we know what the stories are about, right..?"
Far from a demon, but perhaps closest to one in metaphor given how outlandish it looked, and yet a tingle of guilt after these words reminded him of his habit of pulling badly-timed jokes...
As the pull from the wagon starting to move once again at a far more tranquil pace, Tock rushed over to collide with Kyanna onto a hug, squeezing her with concern and as much strength as the puppet could.
"Thanksies for saving me, Tick would have been very sad to have to turn back to find Tock if she fell!"
Now the views were inverted, with the world feeling so small from up there, and even the watchtower did so too. Even if an identical one stood right infront of the group. While certainly maintained, there was a sense of loneliness to it. Partially because everyone knew this was supposed to be abandoned, yet the coldness struck a cord on Thomas the most as he squinted to notice a crystal standing right next to the door.
One Kyanna and Eva would be able to identify as the same one they found on top of Thomas's tower.

"So that's why we couldn't use the quick route up here... Maybe it doesn't work anymore?"

"Well, we can find out soon enough."
"Hmmm... Tick thinks we should have a break, don't we? Mama's an expert camper Tick heard, we should have a camp set up easy peasy after we check the tower!" Tick pointed out, finally halting the horses once again and jumping out of the wagon, leaving the 'find guardian' business aside to check out on Eva.
"Did you break your arm, mama? Tick saw that fancy shootin' you just did." She winked back, shaking her finger-guns around to mimic the LMG's recoil.
"But where you pulled that up from?! What you trying to hunt down with that? An elephant? Tax collectors?"
Just like it's twin, this tower had a cauldron sitting to it's side, where once a fire was lit, pointing out by the ashes present. The sturdy door that kept them barred from entering the building, however, was locked, and there didn't seem to be any clues as to where the key could be. The outside of the tower didn't offer much, but a set of faded horse tracks that didn't just leave but also arrived. Which came first though was harder to determine at this point, other than these were far from a few days old. Hours rather.
