After going to school, doing her homework and all the usual stuff, Chako came back to Arcia to find herself in the inn in Pormont.

There was plenty of time available today, so she thought she'd go and see the First Church of Uene, which was the main reason she had come here in the first place.

Though as she left the inn room and entered the lobby, Chako realized that she really stayed way too many hours inside the room 'sleeping' while she was in school... It's actually pretty hard to fool the innkeepers with the idea of me being a Lander, huh? It really wouldn't be hard for them to notice that Chako regularly slept-in way too much, and was actually a Starcalled that was just doing stuff on Earth, they would only need to pay a bit of attention to her schedule to figure that one out.

Well, the innkeeper and his daughter are very grateful to Fina based on what she told me, so it's probably alright. Chako figured... Still, she hoped she wouldn't make it too obvious to everyone else.

Incidentally, she hadn't seen Fina today, so... Well, she either didn't keep her body in Arcia while her soul was on Earth, or she came to Arcia first and left... Chako could always check her friend list to find out, but she figured that she had no need to pry into what Fina was doing, so she refrained from opening the UI for that.

Instead, once she finished eating, Chako set out to accomplish her goal... To the First Church of Uene I go!

It really was easy to see the church as it towered all other nearby buildings... Figuring out the path there without going through any dark alleys wasn't as easy as Chako liked, but eventually arrived at her destination.

It was... A really tall church, alright. Chako was surprised by how big it was from up close... She took a deep breath, then slowly opened the doors and stepped into it, "Excuse me..."

The sight was breathtaking... Many jewels, beautiful art pieces, gorgeous windows that put the images of famous Earth churches, that Chako had seen on her school textbooks, to shame... Chako could hardly believe what she was seeing.

Then, as she stayed there, staring at the church dumbfoundedly, Chako suddenly heard a voice, "Is something the matter, child?"

Chako turned towards the voice and saw a Caenis woman in what seemed to be priestess robes. The fur in Chako's tails raised slightly, but as the woman got closer, her smell became clearer and Chako relaxed a bit, It's okay. She's just like Doggo. There's nothing scary here. She thought to herself.

The woman seemed to be patiently waiting for Chako's response, so Chako snapped out of it and finally replied, "Ah, I was just... Taking in the sights? Like... Whoa, this church is beautiful...! I had never seen anything like it before!" Chako said honestly.

The woman giggled in response, "It sure is, isn't it? Is this your first time coming here, child?"

"Y-yeah! I-I'm from Honeyhome! It's my first time traveling here to Pormont! I wanted to see lady Uene's church for myself and... Well, it's amazing!"
Saying she was from Honeyhome was a bit of a stretch of the truth, but Chako figured that would be alright.

The woman scowled a bit in response, which sent a shiver down Chako's spine, "From that village that Starcalled often appear on? What a bad place to live in."

Chako shivered at the woman's words, but hurriedly added, "A-ah, yeah, t-there are a lot of Starcalled there for sure, b-but it's where my parents raised me, s-so it's still my home..." The lies were pilling up... Chako hoped she'd remember all of those with time, "T-though I want to travel more in the future! L-like a bard! I want to be able to perform in all sorts of places!" Wasn't she already a bard though? Well, it didn't matter too much, "S-so like... W-well, I heard a lot about lady Uene, and I thought that it would be nice to come here to Pormont as the first place of my travels to pay my respects, a-and like... Maybe learn a bit more about her ladyship..." Chako meekly explained the reason of her visit.

"Oh, is that so?" The woman smiled warmly, the previous scowl nowhere to be seen anymore, "How unusual for one like you to worship lady Uene."

"Y-you think so!?" One like me!? How did she find out I'm a Starcalled already!? Am I that easy to read!? Chako started panicking.

"Yes, your kind usually worshiped... Who was it again? Some foreign deity? I never paid much attention to what you Felis folks did." The woman explained.

What she meant finally clicked on Chako's mind, which made her heave a sigh of relief... Which seemed to confuse the woman, so Chako hastily came up with something to say, "A-ah, I mean, my parents have always encouraged me to find my own faith!" This actually wasn't a lie for once, "So I... Well, when I found out about lady Uene being the goddess of arts... I thought I'd like to dedicate a song to her one day! My best song! And maybe even a dance once I'm good enough to be worthy of lady Uene's eyes too!"

Truth be told, nobody had ever told Chako anything about a Felis deity either... She was kinda curious now, but she also was certain that she did want to worship lady Uene, so it was more of a curiosity for curiosity's sake kind of thing.

The priestess seemed to be quite happy to hear Chako's statement, "My, such a young child and yet so full of faith." and started ruffling Chako's hair.

... Which instantly led to Chako purring, blushing a bit and smiling a bit too much, "I-I'm not that young..." She muttered, but her tone didn't make it sound like an actual complaint.

"Right, right, of course not... Well, come with me, child. Let me show you the wonders of lady Uene." The priestess happily led Chako deeper into the church.

What followed was quite the lovely tour where Chako could see beautiful paintings from up close, wonderfully well-made statues, and hear many tales of lady Uene from the priestess who seemed to be quite happy to explain all that to an unusual worshiper.

She also clarified some of Chako's doubts about lady Uene, once Chako brought up all the stuff she had heard about her in Honeyhome, some of which was right, others not quite so accurate.

When asked about music and rituals, the priestess was quite overjoyed to explain how one should go about dedicating a song to lady Uene, talked about some rituals that they had here, and even explained how Chako could perform in festivals for lady Uene if she so desired.

In the end, Chako spent much longer than she thought she would there, but she actually enjoyed her time and spent it with a smile.

Though once she left the church, Chako heaved a sigh, Faking being a Lander is harder than I thought... She didn't exactly want to get used to lying, but she also enjoyed being treated as herself and not as someone who was just a passerby in this world... So in a way, she did hope she would get used to this eventually.

For now though, Chako figured she'd find a place to perform at while there were no festivals going on... Can't make money as a bard without performing, after all!
