The pair's attention locked on the Drider, with a purple glowing aura enveloping him. "Don't worry, I'll block whatever comes." She announced, putting her shield in front of her while Lune was focusing on dodging the Duelist's attack. Without the Steel Auxesis, she had no method of fighting back in this close range.

And then the attack came. A gas that attacked their senses quickly covered a massive area, prompting them to drop whatever they were doing and try to leave the area of effect first. "You were going to block a gas poison attack?" Coughing, Lune and her summoned heroine dashed to the west, where their allies were last spotted.

As they were trying to escape the thick poisonous fog however, the Dark Elf Duelist stayed on their tail. The knight quickly did a U-turn, putting her whole strength into her right hand for a right hook counter. "Parry this,"

After that, it was the sleepy time for the Duelist.

"Hiiiiii—?!?!"



The combined efforts of each of the Starcalled was enough to bring down the Duelist, and before the Drider could engage in further aggression, his advances were fiercely disrupted by the group.

The large arachnid centaur stumbled, glitching and hissing— And so did the rest of the ambient. The mushroom 'trees' glitched and blurred, with their vibrant color becoming paler as the air of the space they were in became scarcer, especially as the poisonous cloud engulfed the last pieces of healthy oxygen available.

".....!"



Despite the disadvantageous position, the Archer remained relentless on her arrows, sharply darting off and leaping from a density of mushrooms to another, rolling as soon as she connected with the ground before turning to aim at the one she had the highest chances of finishing with an arrow that tried to reach @Little Doggo's throat.

Meanwhile, the large body of the Drider tried to stand, with the many legs trembling as they tried to keep a firm ground for the beast that tried to get back to battle.

Special Poison (Discovered by @Vina Skysong) - The Dark Elves and the Umber Hulks seem used to this ecossystem, and the local Poison does not affect them. However, if you apply some foreign ingredient to it... Maybe it will work!

When Adjacent to a Purple Zone, you can use a Free Action to use all bonus you have on Alchemy, Crime, Culinary, Cultivation, Medicine, Nature Magic, and Naturalism to damage a target's BREAK that is within your range.

The Zones adjacent to the Drider deals 50 damage upon entering or starting your Cycle in them.

After getting up from the ground, Chako saw that another enemy had fallen... Honestly, she just wanted to go home. She was really tired of those simulation things. Trinity alone already had been enough, really.

It just didn't feel real. It didn't sit right with her to put her all into her dances when nothing that was happening felt properly real. It felt like it just didn't matter.

She couldn't leave until they were done though, so she just sighed, held onto a random mushroom nearby that was hopefully not poisonous and started spinning around it. Kinda like that 'I'm singing in the rain' thingy, but done in a really lame way, and without any song to accompany it.

... Unsurprisingly, the resulting magic was also lame, but... Hey, it should be better than nothing, at least.

That she couldn't dismiss the poison cloud rankled the sky druid, but her friends had all escaped its toxic embrace safely, which was what really mattered. Her winds continued to push at the Drider's miasma, trying to keep it at bay while the playful vixen considered their next course of action.

The explosive slime @Nobody had used to stun the Drider had been a surprise, but if that meant that the arachnoid boss was momentarily dealt with Vina could maybe think of a way to also help with the Dark Elf Archer, who had been spending the entire fight shooting at them from a safe distance. Just now she'd also fled from Vina, despite the silver-white-haired songstress being far from threatening by herself.

She's really nimble~


However, the glitching terrain made it clear that there was no point in trying to negotiate with the remaining enemies: many people doubted the reality of Terrasphere, and while Vina felt like the people who lived in this world were real enough for her to love it was clear that their opponents here weren't like that. Throughout the entire fight, they had displayed little to no emotion, only the Drider struggling to contain anger but still failing to express it in any way beyond naked aggression.

So, in the end, the only option was to finish this encounter the way it was meant to be finished, by defeating the defenders of this false fungal forest.

Lightly stepping over towards the far more expressive and friendly elven archer Vina smiled at her, then glanced towards her friend's darker mirror match.

I think our friends can take care of the eight-legged hunk, but it'll be difficult for them to reach your shadow. I might be able to help you prove who's the better archer though~


As she spoke she ran her hand across the length of her staff, her wooden instrument reshaping itself until it had become a musical instrument as well, a slender violin. Reaching back Vina pulled a twig out of her long hair which quickly grew into a violin's bow, the playful vixen chuckling as she held it up, her tail also cheerfully swishing from side to side behind her.

My bow and string to strengthen yours~ Fitting, isn't it?


Taking a step back so Luthien would have the space to work her craft the sky druidess put the bow to the strings, taking a deep breath before beginning to play. The song started slowly, but quickly picked up the pace along with the air around her, swirling to follow the melody's guidance.

The winds would gather around Luthien, carrying the sound of Vina's violin as they spun around her feet before rising up towards her arms, her bow, and her arrows, blue sparks of latent energy flashing on the tips of her arrows.

Her next shots would strike true regardless of distance or obstruction, her already impressive marksmanship now augmented by winds to guide her arrows exactly where she wanted them to land, and the arrows themselves carried a storm's bite.

Doggo lifted her sword up, emboldened thanks to Chako's lazy dance that granted her the courage to call for lightning to enchant her sword with it, the electricity dancing all over the weapon as she lowered her stance, preparing herself to close the gap with the Drider.


"Cheer up Chako, we got this!"



She said, moments before waltzing through and straight into the poisonous mist, taking a lesson from the Max's monke school in facing danger without a care, her only safety measure being to puff her cheeks and hold her breath as she turned into lightning to zig zag and reach after the downed spiderman, and then she leapt into the air, invoking the full power of her Tremendous Horse Cut Technique to send enough voltage through it's body to fry him into a new meal for the party.

Their combined efforts bore fruit as another dark elf was downed, before the arachnid centaur began to glitch and hiss in his current location. "Another one gone, just two more to go!" It had taken some effort and strain on her body was beginning to make her muscles ache, but she still tried to pump the others for the last stretch of their fight.

"Hey, Luthien!"
"’Sup, Vina?"

Her attention was brought to the friendly vixen, an excited smirk quickly appearing on her lips as the caenis laid out her offer. "Deal, I’ll give you an archery show that would make Connington jelly as fuck~" Eyes closed as the first notes began to play from Vina’s violin, allowing the tune and her melodic voice to wash over and invigorate her spirit.

The song followed her even as the ranger began walking forwards to get a bead on her doppelgänger, the dark elf’s ivory hair working against their favor as it made them stand out in the purplish pink haze. An earnest smile appeared as the wind began to gather around the blonde, the violet whistle softly billowing as it was caressed by familiar circling winds.

At first glance it would appear that her first two shots had missed their mark as they disappeared into the smog, but the blonde’s composure remained steady as she readied the next round. In reality they’d served to force the dark elf into a better position, one that created an opening that her arrows quickly capotalized as they sank into the armor of her foe.

"Finish her, unnie!" All four arrows exploded in unison, the astral energy contained within buffeting the archer and clearing up the smog around them, as the ranger called for @Lune to deliver the final blow and bring an end to this conflict.

"Already ahead of you."

The shielder was already transferring her energy toward the purple-white-haired woman, who began channeling a spell.

"You might be able to hide in the woods," Aiming both of her palms in the general direction of the hiding archer, which was revealed by Luthien's colorful astral explosions. Her fists gradually closed as she locked on the target. "But I'll just shoot through the entire forest."

Energy swirled around her arms, and then a magical push escaped both of Lune's fists. The resulting gravity blast traveled with such incredible speed that it shook the surrounding trees, approaching the dark elven archer in the distance.

The Drider rose his stance as @Little Doggo approached him with @Chako's empowerement, finally recovering his senses and behavior. His expressions hardened, underestimating the little girls, which was his last mistake.

The zapping struck him to his core, and his huge and menaning frame trembled helplessly to the electric attack that he tried to struggle against.

"HIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK—!!"



He roared, gritting his teeth and glaring down at the Starcalled, letting one last maniac and horrifying laughter as the glitch shaped his face once again until he stumbled down before he could sink his sharp leg against the one that had killed him.

"Ack—!"



The Archer winced from afar, in the border of the forest she tried to hide herself in, her eyes widening as soon as @Luthien's arrows, wrapped with @Vina Skysong's storm, struck her with fiercing precision. Despite the surprise, the Archer's reflexes were more than enough to notice @Lune's fast spell incoming, but her wounded body didn't follow up with the speed of her senses— and with a scared shriek cut short, the last elf was destroyed.

With the enemies brought down, there was no more obstacle to go deeper into their environment. Yet, the glitching only worsened as time passed. The vibrant colors of the mushrooms continued to pale, and at some point, everything looked like an horribly twisted and distorted.

As colors continued to be drained, the 'forest' started to claim the corpses, cradling them with roots and vines, and gently dragging them into the soil or the depths of the dense, poisonous fungi barrage while the simulation continued to glitch.

No one could hear or feel any sign of the simulation runners, so the Starcalled were on their own now.



CYCLE 8

The Drider and all the Elves were defeated. Challenge Concluded!

As things started glitching out, and the monsters started disappearing, Chako just stared at them mindlessly for a bit.

This really was... Way too frustrating.

Chako averted her gaze. She didn't want to look at that anymore... Instead, she rushed towards @Little Doggo and gave her a hug.

"Hey... Let's not go to those simulation things again..." Chako muttered... Before she realized it, tears were already leaving her eyes... Chako didn't understand. Why was she crying? This was just annoying. None of it was real. there was no point in crying.

... No. Chako knew exactly why she was crying... She just hated it. She hated how they had to fight people who couldn't talk. People who were just mindless and who looked like they were controlled by some will that was not their own... Even if Chako was told this was just a simulation, that none of this was real, she couldn't help wondering... What if it was real? What if those elves were actually controlled by the spiderman? What if they had just killed innocent people?

After all, they were in Terrasphere... What here wasn't real in the first place?

It hurt that Chako couldn't do anything. That she had to fool herself the whole time into thinking she didn't care in order to not question anything... Chako really really didn't want to ever enter a simulation like this one ever again.
