Both the Priestess and one of the Hulk guardians fell upon the Starcalled efforts, and the number advantage turned the tables.

However, exhaustion was catching up, and the dark elves seemed uncaring about the losses and the length of the battle.

"Hiiiiii!"



The Drider was the first one to act after the losses, retreating to the depths of the fungi mass and locking his gaze on @Nobody, that was still distracted by the trance. A string of web followed, wrapping around her before forcibly pulling her from distance and gluing her limbs against her body in the spider trap it had quickly created.

Before @Lune could react to the Drider's retreat, the Umber Hulk behind her turned for a fierce bite on her leg, trying to pull her off the ground while the Drider turned to the group once again, launching a wide spreading web, attempting to pin the group onto place.

"..."



While the web limited the movements of the group, the Sorceress focused her attention on the one that had finished her fellow mage. Aiming with her hand, the deadly and scorching sphere formed on her palm, moments before she blasted it toward @Little Doggo to finish her off with a burning explosion.

With eyes caught by webs and necrotic fire, it was hard to see the Duelist coming from the fungi mass, rushing to catch @Chako and @Vina Skysong off guard, flourshing her blade to attempt to slice their sides, hoping to strike a fatal spot, while the Archer finally slipped out of her hidings, quickly darting off and seeking for @Luthien, not wanting to let the opposing elf archer to escape the combat so easily.

It uses Web Wave attack. A spread of cobwebs are launched at everyone. The attack is centered on D5 Zone, and all adjacent Zones are affected.

@Little Doggo must pass a DC 80 Reflex Save to avoid taking 40 Damage and become 3x Restrained (1 Stack: Special and Bonus Actions disabled | 2 Stacks: 0 Movement | 3 Stacks: Can't be moved by any means, even by Carry or Displacement mechanics) - Restrained can't be cleansed, the target (or an adjacent ally) must roll a Fortitude Save (DC 80 for each stack) to remove it.

@Lune

With the priestess and one of the hulk bugs down things were starting to look good for their party, though that illusion was quickly broken in the following moments. Lúthien could only observe as a massive spider web unfurled in the air and captured the others, restricting their movements, before the sorceress’ flames wrapped around the four left behind one the mysterious slime girl had been dragged away.

"Oh shit—!!!" The familiar whistling sound through the air reminded Lúthien of the dark elven archer on the other side, finally catching sight of her as the blonde attempted to dodge the incoming volley of arrows. THe ones that did strike embedded into the thick leather of her vest and, despite the pain that followed, it had prevented them from causing any major injuries.

Part of her was tempted to answer the attack with one of her own, but the ranger managed to reign in her impulsive nature as she prioritized the biggest danger to the party after the drider currently present. Her steps quickly carried her closer to the fellow whistle even as the elf took note of the downed Pugilist and the Duelist not far from him.

A cloud of spores and poison were infused with magic to alter their balance, before a strong gust of wind pushed it right towards the Sorceress' face as Lúthien reached the young caenis. "Little Doggo, let's do this!" Her own volley of arrows was unleashed towards the witch, a dazzling and colorful display as they exploded and released the cosmic energy from the marbles safely secured to their tips, before the ranger reached for one of her throwing knives next.

"Hold still, Chako." It was the only warning given to the young felis before she began cutting through the silken strands that bound her, their sticky nature proving to be quite the hindrance as Lúthien was unable to fully free her from them.

Well, we are the ones breaking into their home, so we can't blame them too much~


Given that this was a simulation even within Terrasphere Vina wasn't too bothered by the idea, even if it did bring back the ancient forum debates of whether adventurers were heroes or just murderers for hire.

Although in this case there was the strong mitigating factor that the denizens of this mushroom-covered grotto had immediately resorted to violence, so it wasn't like the Starcalled had come here with blood and death on their minds. At least, Vina hadn't: she couldn't read minds, but maybe some of her friends had been looking forward to it.

But this wasn't the time to get lost in philosophical ponderings: the battle was still ongoing, and Vina had to pay attention to help her friends. With Corvella, Little Doggo, and Lune taking out the Priestess it looked like the tide was turning, especially as one of the insectoid behemoths fell in a vain attempt to protect the healer.

Noticing a mass of sticky whiteness flying towards the group Vina's reflexes allowed her to avoid the webbings, the playful vixen quickly sidestepping to a safe spot whilst the drider unleashed his secretions in a surprisingly large barrage. A quick glance told her that her friends had also caught onto the drider's burst in time to evade.

However, her reflexes couldn't completely protect her from the Sorceress's wrath. Whether it was in revenge for the Priestess or sheer malice she didn't know, but as necrotic flames enveloped Little Doggo the best Vina could do was avoid the worst of the heat, unnatural flames licking at her skin but failing to catch hold as the druidess swiftly pushed the fire away with a gust of wind.

Which left the Duelist, who'd followed her through the poison field with remarkable tenacity. Once again Vina felt that sharp blade dig into her flesh, a nimble twisting of her body keeping the wound shallow enough that the vixen wouldn't be slowed down by it.

That felt a little bit personal...


No time to wonder about that either. Whatever power the Priestess worshipped before her death had ensured that her demise didn't come cheap, with Little Doggo especially looking like she might join the cleric soon if left untreated. A twist of her staff distracted the Duelist with a gale of poisonous spores, giving Vina the opportunity to disengage and run past the remaining chitinous guardian until she was certain everyone was in range.

Having communed with the fungal overgrowth that dominated this terrain several times now Vina thought she had a good grasp on the way nature's energies flowed. While they were different from plants, mushrooms still were an aspect of nature. Finding herself a good spot in the middle of the battlefield Vina planted her staff into the ground once again, this time leaving it there as she took several steps back and began to hum a song to call forth nature's energies.

As she sang a green glow travelled up from the ground into the staff, spiralling up the shaft until it reached the many-branched head. Leafs began to sprout from the branches as the spell grew in potency, until Vina whispered the last word and the spell was unleashed, healing magic flowing across the druidess's surroundings to swirl around her friends.

With her arms spread wide as if to guide the spell with her hands Vina continued to channel her magic, shifting her weight from one foot to the other and back. The silver-white-haired vixen was still alert enough to respond to obvious threats, but otherwise was completely relying on her trustworthy friends and allies.

The drider didn't want to chill out for a moment it seemed, as it intended to pull copyrighted moves on the group yet again, and this time, she's the one at the very end of his latest robbery. Thankfully, only on the figurative sense, unlike the Slime Queen, who Nobody seemed to remember, as she was taken on the literal sense with the drider as it panicked.


"Not today, spiderman!"



She felt at the peak, untouchable truly! Yet it only took the focus of one elf (and not a friendly one) to send her straight down, as a fireball went straight to her. Reflexes kicked up, as she went to try and cut the spell in half, only realizing soon after that these explode unlike arrows, the blast punting her away like a ragdoll, eating dirt all along the way.


"BONKERS, MY TAIL!"



Her hands frantically waved over to grasp the fluffy thing as it flickers around like a ball of flame, slapping the fires down with both hands, at the cost of having some of it's fur burnt out. The dismay at her fashion being ruined almost made her open the tear ducts. Fortunately, her bravado wouldn't be broken once Vina put to practice her tree-hugger aptitude, bearing the greatest gifts of healing and fashion through sheer power back to her.

She wagged her tail, and lo and behold: Fur restored, vitality replenished, all thanks to the druid herself!


"Oooh it's shiny even! Thanks miss druid!"



Perhaps she had to pay the druidess back with some shopping spree for some clothes, yet the future had to wait, as Luthien took over the offense once again, being just on arm's reach despite their differences in range.

And the older explorer takes the initiative, commanding a full response to the aggression of the not-so-friendly elves, with Doggo enthusiastically nodding back.


"Roger! Let's take them down!"



Taking the opportunity that Luthien granted, LIL' DOGGO rushed forth, waltzing through the poisonous poison as lightning tried to catch up with her, zig-zagging all the way until she reached the Sorceress herself and rushing past the dark elf as she applied a mark of her own onto her clothes, Doggo's electricity fading from her once she reached a safe distance from both the mushrooms and the pyromancer herself, taking the opportunity to go straight over to Chako.


"Don't worry Chako, we are here, we'll make that ugly spiderdude pay for this one too, like the big ugly bug over there."



She promised the cat, using her sword to surgically (read, very unsafely) cut open the cobwebs that kept the poor catto restrained. Thankfully a quick cut did the trick after Luthien bore through so many of these, which made the rescue mission all the more easier with some explorer teamwork.


Which prompted a very well deserved raise from her arm, holding up an open palm for both Luthien and Chako alike, stepping on the tip of her toes to make it easier for the taller elf... Maybe. Hopefully.


"HIGH FIVE!"



Were not her magic tingling senses tingling towards the Sorceress, she would have forgotten of the active electromancy left on the woman just a few moments earlier, having her mind rushed to victory all too swiftly when they still had bugs and plenty o' legs having dinner with the slime queen herself.

But victory was so close, close enough for her to stick her tongue out to the thousand-old-looking hag and openly taunt her, with the full expertise of a youthful Starcalled.


"BLEH!"



And then she pointed her iron sword, triggering the electro-brand, sending down a thunderbolt onto the woman, blinding light flashing around as to catch anyone's eyes, in an effort to keep someone The twin tailed catto safe with all the chaos that would bring.

The Drider, taking a distance, sent a wave of webs to catch the group in a bind.

"Oh no you don't!" Lune quickly jumped up and levitated with her gravimancy to dodge the attack, before grabbing the shielder quickly and flying upwards to avoid being caught in the web.

"You can't fly forever. Put me somewhere safe."

"I'll put you on that tree until-"
Lune was slowly floating down before the pair was blown by a nearby fireball explosion, landing back to the ground, thankfully not where it was covered in webs. "Never mind." The woman then looked at the priority target, but it was quickly taken care of. "The big one next, perhaps?"

"I'll need to gather energy first."
The simulated heroine started recovering, but then a soothing energy came from the direction of their support. "Thanks!" She shouted and waved at Vina. The blonde then set her sight on the Umber hulk to her back, pausing for a second before suddenly leaping at it, bashing its head so hard that it exploded.

Chako was really flabbergasted by what just happened to her.

Like, yeah... She knew she was meant to avoid the poison, but... To be shoved into a slime!? For real!? A-and It hurts! Why did this suddenly happen!?

Except it didn't hurt for long... Chako could hear the slime girl giving out instructions to the big slime, and suddenly Chako went from being hurt to being healed... It was surprising how a slime could go from painful to soothing like that.

When Chako was spitted out, feeling much better than before, as even the poison seemed to have been taken out of her lungs, she could only mutter a small, "Thanks." to both the slime girl and its big slime friend.

Sure, Chako now felt horribly icky, but this was better than being poisoned and wounded, so this definitely deserved a proper thanks.

There was not much time where Chako could be relieved though. As she was quickly assaulted by multiple attacks from the many opponents near them... It really hurts a lot... Chako thought to herself, but she didn't scream in pain. It was strange. She just didn't feel like doing it. Those strange enemies just... Annoyed her.

Ah, I get it now... I'm too annoyed to scream in pain. Chako realized... It was similar, but not as bad as the feeling with Trinity. Those simulations just didn't feel right. Those mindless enemies that attack without thinking or talking... Chako really got annoyed at those things. Stop making me remember that this is a game... It's seriously annoying!

So, as soon as Luthien and Doggo helped her, Chako got up. She thought it was going to be harder than that, but the other support of the team quickly healed her, so getting up wasn't too tough for as long as she paid proper attention to her legs.

Then, Chako high fived Doggo and smiled to her, "I'm counting on you! Wreck that spiderman!"

Time to do my part now, I guess? Honestly, Chako was still not confident in dancing on this trippy ground at all... It just felt like a recipe for disaster waiting to happen.

But she also didn't feel like she could borrow anyone for a dance right now... Especially not the slime again, as it seemed to be annoyed at Chako.

So, Chako took a deep breath... Don't mess this up, don't mess this up. And started dancing. Moving slower than what this ceremonial dance expected one to. Chako just paid full attention to her feet and to the vines, mushrooms and other things on the way of her steps. It was a clumsy, ugly dance, whose dancer was looking at the ground the whole time.

But it was still a dance. A dance to thank those who always watch over us and protect us. A dance that emanated the usual faint yellow light and threw it at her allies, to make sure that they would not be defeated here.

By the time she finished the last step, Chako couldn't help feeling happy with herself... It was the first time she danced by herself in such horribly trippy ground, so... Even a terrible dance like this one was enough to make her quite happy.

Nobody quivered like jelly as a soft hook of webbing surrounded her and swept her off her feet. For a brief moment, she looked up at her captor, her heart going doki doki~ at the sight.

…At least until the trance wore off.

"HEEEEEELLLLLLLP!!!" Nobody shrieked, frantically slapping the terrifying creature with her oversized coat sleeve. Finding this not-so-effective, she melted out of her restraints and reformed nearby, running for her life and tossing some of the nastier-looking mushroom at the beast behind her.

"I thought this would be a nice relaxing getaway from all this trauma, but this is the worst! I want out, darn it!" she lamented aloud, tearing through the thick, mushroomy biome.

Suddenly, Nobody crashed into the open space, tripping and falling into a small puddle on the ground. Nasty as it felt, the water was refreshing, invigorating her to continue running.

One after another, the Dark Elves fell, and so did the Umber Hulks. The advantage built at the start of the ambush was gone, and despite all the difficulties, the Starcalled group was far more tenacious than one would expect.

"..."



Unlike the remaining elves, the Drider was visibly affected by the situation, with his face distorting in a mix of anger and frustration— yet, his face 'glitched' once again, returning to its sadic and laughing expression before glitching again and becoming entirely somber.

Its gaze shifted briefly to the remaining duo, and they began acting immediately.

"..."



The Duelist meddled herself in the middle of three of the Starcalled, dancing with her blade and sharply sending it across their bodies, trying to open gashes on their backs—

While the Archer locked her aim on @Luthien once again, taking a deep breath before allowing the arrow fly toward the back of the other elf.

"..."



And as the duo of elves distracted the group with their relentless attack, the large Drider finally approached for a closer and more direct combat. He spat a string of web that glued on @Lune's shoulder, bringing her at his mouth and allowing him to sink his venomous fangs on her clavicle, while his right frontal leg thrusted forward like a fierce spear, targetting @Vina Skysong's stomach. As he spat Lune back on the floor, his hand aimed at @Chako, shooting webs that pulled her by her neck to let the drider grab her by the face before slamming her headfirst against the ground, while he moved his body and stretched his frontal and middle left legs to pierce @Little Doggo and @Nobody, albeit they were too far to get struck by a fatal hit.

By the end of it, a vibrant magenta glow drew on the Drider's body, letting out a faint magenta miasma. This glow spreaded across his body, and his eyes rolled back into his head, being replaced by an intense glow while his centaur spider body quivered and glitched before he turned to face the fox girl, lingering an intense gaze at her direction.

Their combined efforts finally placed most of the drider’s minions on the ground, with only two of the dark elves remaining to offer him support, but this time their small victory over the sorceress came with a price. "Fuck!" There’s nothing she can do to prevent the younger catgirl from slipping into unconsciousness, but she can at least offer protection towards their healers as they try to mend and counter the numerous wounds now littering all of their bodies.

"Ready Lil’ Doggo?!" It’s a technique that’s quickly taught out to the newer recruits of the League, and one Lúthien has drilled into every young whistle that’s come under her watch. "Daisy chain, just like we’ve practiced!"

A cosmical tether spreads out from the ranger before stretching outwards, the energy pooling at the feet of the vixen and the nameless slime girl before gently blanketing over the fallen Chako. It pulses once, twice, each beat resonating with the tip of an arrow that Lúthien rapidly unleashes towards the opposing archer who’s been focusing on her lately—but not before willing some of the modified poison spores towards the Duelist’s eyes.

The stored magic is triggered once the arrow strikes her target, a flurry of snow swirling unnaturally around the dark elf and trapping her momentarily while minuscule shards that sparkle like stars in the night sky cut into exposed flesh and clothing material without distinction. It’s an effect that quickly becomes mirrored around three of her allies, though the cosmic winds circling around them keep the biting frost outside instead.

The makeshift domes will follow them if they move, offering a layer of protection against any incoming attack while also providing their supports a calm space to gather their energy and thoughts as the fate of the party hangs in their capable hands.

Her thirst for justice halted itself clean for a moment, reinvigorated by the mighty high five with the kid squad's strongest catto, feeling proud of how quickly Chako adapted to the chaos of the situation, even dropped some moves to style over the entire party of evil-doers!

Then her ears wiggled, attentive at the cries for help, doggo senses activated in the blink of an eye as she rushed over to chase after that noise, only to find the falling slime queen plop into a pool of her own slimeyness then get back up as if nothing had happened and that embarassing situation never came to be!


"Hey you! The one @Nobody knows the name of!"



She started, holding a hand onto her waist for dramatic effect.


"Don't stress out! Doggo's here to keep you safe, leave the spider bad guy to me and your cool slimes, you can help out the others with the grape-coloured bad guys!"



She puffed her chest out, giving a few nods back to the slimey slime before turning her attention to the real threat, and thus, switching her face back into battle mode as the Drider guy came to view, who didn't seem all too pleased by the situation in the first place.

Doggo had to be honest with herself, rushing all the way towards that guy gave her the chills and made her knees weak all of a sudden. He's huge, has a scary face, and keeps switching between spooky and angry all at once. All his minions are almost done for and he keeps smiling!

The nerves were almost getting to her, right after she had to act all cool and heroic like to that slime girl! But she bit down her tongue and kept moving. Maaybe a ranged attack could help her by not getting too close to that spidey guy..?

Maybe.


"I-i'll distract the big spider guy, miss Luthien! I'll keep you covered!"


She shouted back to the ranger, moments before she gave her sword a few swings in the air before throwing a zapping zap field of lightning towards the Drider guy, trying to fry those legs and keep em at bay for the sake of her senior explorer, whose got herself a lil exposed to harm's way right now!

With her attention somewhere else, Lune failed to dodge the web coming towards her, which caused the Drider to pull her, sinking his fangs in her shoulder before throwing her away. The blonde shielder in black quickly rushed to catch her before the purple-white-haired woman hit the forest floor.

The venom was deadly, but Lune was quickly able to get it out of her system before it spreads and incapacitate her.

The Drider let out a glow, and his eyes were set on someone behind the pair. "Run!" She warned, but it looked like Vina was already entranced by whatever he was doing.

"Fuck it. We'll try and stop him here." Holding their ground, they prepared their attack while the rest of the party behind them would try to deal with the two remaining dark elves.

Vina knew that pouring so much magic into her restorative magic would draw attention from their enemies, but that didn't mean there was much she could do about it. Her friends needed healing, and she couldn't do much if she stayed out of danger.

So the best she could do was prepare herself as the drider approached, his expression switching between angry and stoic as if an internal conflict was taking place... no, it was more like there were two entities in control of the araneidan creature, one that grew increasingly frustrated at the resistance of the adventurers, and another who was filled with nothing but sadistic confidence.

Unfortunately, this dichotomy did not hinder his movements: his attack was precise and quick, the druidess forced to interrupt her ritualistic song to avoid receiving a hole in her stomach, instead wincing as she felt the sharp claw tipping his leg tearing through fabric and flesh alike.

This was enough of a distraction that the Duelist could once again approach her from behind, that same swift blade that had already struck her twice, drawing blood for a third time. By this point, the songstress was quite sure the only reason she was able to avoid deeper injury from the dark elf's aggression was that she'd gotten used to her adversary's persistence.

Still, being on the receiving end of penetrations by both the drider and the dark elf was more than she was prepared for, the druidess stumbling as she tried to create some distance... and of course throwing another gust of poisonous spores in the Duelist's face.

That's a bit much...


A glance at the drider proved to be unwise: the many-legged giant was gazing at her as well, and as their eyes met Vina felt a strange sensation catch hold of her. There was a glow in the drider's eyes which was as mesmerising as it was terrifying, and for a moment the druidess had a hard time focusing on anything else.

Fortunately, her friends were quick to put a stop to it. Luthien's cosmic veil was enough of a distraction to make Vina blink once, the hypnotic pull immediately lessening once eye contact was broken. Corvella's voice pulled her the rest of the way back, the playful vixen quickly shaking her head and looking away from the drider to instead smile gratefully at the others.

However, that gratitude was quickly followed by concern and shock as she saw that Chako had succumbed to her injuries.

Chako!


A part of her wanted to run closer to her feline friend, but even if many of their opponents had already fallen the drider, the Duelist, and the Archer would punish carelessness. Instead, she glanced at her staff, still standing straight up from the ground and sprouting fresh leafs. Close enough to Chako to serve as an anchor.

Taking a deep breath Vina suppressed the pain, instead reaching out towards her planted instrument. The same green glow that had adorned the staff before now arose and flowed towards Vina, swirling around her before returning to the staff, creating a link between the druidess and her focus.

While it wasn't as powerful as before, there was still plenty of nature's energies left for Vina to help her friends with. As her own wounds lessened so did those of the valiant canine and the passionate elf. A soothing wind flowed outwards from the staff, carrying Vina's song and weaving between her friends to brush across their injuries, numbing the pain and promoting recovery.

Chako, meanwhile, was the main target of this melodious spell, calling her consciousness back to her body with the promise of rejuvenation. As the green glow of Vina's druidic craft enveloped her body strength returned to her and her pain was drowned out by a sensation of vitality, the world briefly becoming sharper and more vibrant.

As befitting for a druid, Vina would restore health and vigour to her friend in the same way that nature flourished after winter's bite.

Chako's happiness from managing to dance by herself on this unsteady ground was cut short. Suddenly, she was pulled by a web, got face to face with the spiderman for as second, before the ground started quickly approaching her.

Then, everything went dark for a bit... Until her senses slowly started coming back to her, as she heard a song reaching her ears.

She slowly opened her eyes, and saw that she was facing the ground... Did I faint...?

Chako forced herself up, and took a quick look at her surroundings... Then, she nodded to herself, and started dancing again... It was not over. There was no time to rest just yet.

Honestly though, Chako was still feeling really dizzy from just waking up, so she was in no condition to dance, but she just kept going anyways... She lost count of how many times she tripped, and only managed to stay on her feet by holding onto a vine, or a mushroom. This was easily the worst dance she had done ever since she met Ruby... She didn't even know what she was dancing. Any onlooker would probably assume she was drunk with how bad it was.

But hey, the magic still worked in one way or another... Weakly. It definitely didn't have the same impact that Chako was used to with her healing, but she was happy enough with this when considering the circumstances.

One of Nobody's slimes suddenly showed up, jumping around and quickly reaching for @Chako, noticing the girl looking rather dizzy and a bit out of herself. The slime leaped to glue on the girl's face, starting to rotate and rub on her like a soap.

That once again kept tabs on those that decided to stray too far away from the density of the group. The arrow went straight to the girl's arm, trying to tore it with its sharp head, while the Duelist approached to @Little Doggo and @Lune, swiftly flourishing her sword once again.

The blade was clean and rapid on its cut, one trying to aim for the vital spot of the white haired, while the other tried to sever some of the leg movement of the dog girl, trying to hinder their escape from what was incoming...

The large drider, with the glowing marks across his body, quivered a couple times. Its arachnid centaur body twitched, and a stinging smell burned the heroes' nostrils and eyes. It invaded the lungs of the Starcalled that continued to dare to linger in that combat, and after his eyes widened, a growl escaped his throat while a dense, dark violet cloud abruptly escaped from the marks of its body.

Despite the darkness it caused, the two eerily glowing eyes were still highlighted in the darkness...

Chako didn't know what to expect in her extremely dizzy state... But she certainly did not think that a slime would suddenly start rubbing against her face! W-what was that!?

Somehow, the slime seemed to take out her dizziness though... Was this its way of healing...? Chako smiled and patted the slime, "Thank you."

And then... Arrows were shot at Chako, which were like... Well, the scratches they left certainly hurt, but Chako figured she could manage this much.

However... While Chako was distracted by the archer that she was trying to dodge the arrows of... She suddenly had her nostrils assaulted by an unbearable smell.

"W-what's this!? D-did the spiderman just fart!?" Chako exclaimed in disbelief as she stared at the direction that the poisonous cloud came from... Unbelievable! The smell was unbearable! Chako never thought she'd hate having enhanced smelling as much as she did now!

So, Chako did the one thing she could now that she was no longer dizzy... She danced her way out of the poisonous cloud! Skipping her way to safety, doing something that resembled a desperate's person attempt at ballet... But hey, what works works. Her magic did get summoned by this poor imitation and she could feel a bit of relief as the smell started getting away from her, and the spell healed some of her wounds.

Only, she didn't pay enough attention to her steps, so she tripped on a vine and fell on the ground just as she finished casting her spell... Well, at least it worked.

"Let me out of this thiiiing!" Nobody cried to nobody in particular. The machine people, perhaps? The words of the @Little Doggo helped refocus her a bit, though she would've preferred to be comforted by waking up in the little research room, safe and sound and not covered in gross stuff... well, new gross stuff. "Uhm... thanks. You err... dog... girl?" Did she even have a name?

Instead, she steeled herself and glared at the spider. This was all his fault, wasn't it? The boss. All she had to do was kill the boss and then the level would be over, right? That was how these things worked.

Raising her coat sleeve (inside which, presumably, was a hand), Nobody unleashed a plume of fire, attracting the attention of the slimes scattered about the environment. At once, they began to shift color to a bright, fiery red, menacingly surrounding the drider. Soon, rivers of fire turned the dark purple of the landscape to bright orange.

Nobody noticed one such slime nearby, picked it up, then glared up at the spider man. "How about you just die already!?" she screamed, lobbing the slime like a grenade and falling to the ground as the force of the fiery explosion blew her back.

Vina smiled as she saw that Chako was recovering from her temporary lapse of consciousness, the druidess continuing her song to maintain the healing effects... until the drider decided that enough was enough, running amidst the adventurers with the vile stench of miasma emanating from him as a warning of what came next.

Look out!


That was all she could say before their arachnid opponent released a burst of poisonous smog far more intense than that produced by the spores of the fungal forest. The vile mists rolled across the battlefield, and Vina could barely take a breath of clean air before it washed over her as well, obscuring her vision and threatening to invade her lungs if she didn't resist the reflexive desire to breathe.

Fortunately, this was exactly the kind of hazard that Vina's talents could handle. The lack of song was a hindrance, but even without her music the playful vixen still called upon the winds.

The staff she'd planted into the ground was lifted and flew to her opened hand, fingers gripping the shaft firmly before spinning it to summon a gust strong enough to temporarily create a pocket of clean air amidst the drider's miasma bomb. Her floor-length hair danced around her as she spun the staff again, exhaling and inhaling now that she had the chance before she began to chant a new melody.

Swinging her staff in a wide circle the druidess sounded unusually assertive, the winds she'd been gathering suddenly growing in size and strength as they ripped through the drider's poison. Dark smog swirled as the sky druid's call scattered it, purifying winds spiralling out towards her allies to grant them a reprieve from the miasma as well.

As much as Vina would've liked to dispel the poison completely, the drider's own dark magic was too powerful for her to nullify that easily. The best she could do was grant her friends the opportunity to escape the poison's reach and prevent its expanse while she also made her way back to clean air and clear vision.

Her path, skirting around one of the denser parts of the mushroom maze, brought her close to the Dark Elf Archer who had been pelting the adventurers with skilfully placed arrows all this while. Vina wasn't going to put a stop to that by herself, but she could at least try to distract the sniper by making her receive a faceful of concentrated mushroom spores, some of the druidess's winds swirling around the dark-skinned adversary to collect the spores before sending them straight into her lungs.

Doggo struck a pose out for @Nobody as the slime girl gave her a sliver of time in this desperate situation. Of course, talking always took less time than acting, and so she got a pass for it.

"Little Doggo!"



A brief introduction as they had more problems coming their way, pestilent ones at that as the spiderman decided to jump back into the fray and spread the most nauseating gas ever known to a dog, her nose wrinkling a little, covering it the instant she took a whiff of death itself.


"What's with the smell?! Couldn't you just do a normal boss attack?!"



Doggo mumbled, trying to walk away in-between coughing, only to bump onto someone and flop on her backside. Someone with pointed ears.


"Miss Luthien! I'm glad to see y-"



Wait, was Luthien always this purple..? When did she got her hair dyed even?



"...YOU ARE NOT MISS LUTHIEN!"



Unfortunately, being this close to the deadly Duelist meant she got caught in the blitz along with Lune, with more than a few scratches this time, but quite a nasty cut on her right arm that kept stinging the whole way through, despite the pain suppression system being enabled on her end.


Her instincts told her to run, but being this cornered, a dog turns into a wolf, and so she lashed out, sending a powerful zap from the tip of her fingers to the well armoured foe before tip toeing her way out of the toxic clouds.

The ominous glow around the Drider hadn’t gone unnoticed but, with so much that required immediate attention and/or action, the elf had pinned it to the back of her mind as a future Lúthien’s problem… and the future was now.

"Eeeeeewww!!!" A massive cloud of pinks and purple hues wrapped around the party, obscuring their views, as the Drider actually had the ✨a u d a c i t y✨ to fart around them. A puff of verdant had whirled around the ranger as she desperately tried to keep the air around her clean long enough to take a deep breath, before it was finally overpowered by the stench of it all.

Her eyes stung and teared up, and the elf could barely see a few feet in front of her as the gas assaulted her.

"Hurry back, Lil’Doggo!" Two heads of silvered hair however stood out from the smog like bright beacons, and the voice of her fellow explorer’s helped Lúthien figure out which one was who. Just go down already!

A whizzing sound would be the only warning afforded to Duelist as the arrow quickly found its mark, the jade colored marble in its tip exploding moments later into a verdant gale that buffeted the dark elf. Lúthien willed some of the magic towards her companions, the winds bending to her whims and wrapping around Lune and Little Doggo to offer them some protection from the gas and whoever might try to come after them, even as the last breeze attempted to attach itself to whoever still remained within her reach.

She didn’t think twice before hopping backwards, eager to get the hell out of that fart cloud as her lungs burned with the need of fresh air. The patch of poisoned mushrooms would’ve been one Lúthien would have usually avoided, but it was better than running through more of that smog and risking losing her way in the process.

If the archer had been paying attention, something that was questionable since Lúthien had made sure to send another present of modified poison her way, she would’ve noticed that the blonde was mimicking the same movements the dark elf had displayed as she’d moved through the poisonous fungi. Her feet finally landed on safe ground as the ranger gasped before taking a deep inhale of fresh and clean air, tapping Little Doggo on the shoulder to commend her for a job well done, before she moved back a few more steps for safety.
