The Mizar, Ilmea's Lament
-50 HP from Fishmen Retal with Blood Frenzy (x2)

Without missing a beat, Ayna charged toward the closest pair of fishmen warriors, her spear hungry for more fish blood. Smelling her wounds, however, sent her targets into a frenzy. Although Ayna was poised to just murder them in one quick run, the two actually put up a fight. One of them tried to slash at her with his blade, only for the Captain to dodge the attempt and stab him right in the gut. The frenzied warrior didn't even wince, instead slashing at her at such a close range, she was not able to dodge it.

Ayna instinctively jumped back while kicking the damned invader off of her weapon. The second one tried to attack her from behind but she managed to pirouette away from his weapon's range, stabbing him behind the knee as a counterattack. But as this second warrior had no choice but to go down on one knee, the first leaped up high in the air and tried to take her down with a downward strike. Ayna managed to avoid the attack's full force by rolling to the side, only to get hit by a wild swipe when she got back to her feet. The Lightning Lancer of the Lament stumbled backward in shock but immediately regained her composure, using her rage as fuel to finally end the first warrior by piercing his head through his jaw.

Seeing this, the second warrior screamed in rage as he struggled to get back to his feet. Well, foot. The one Ayna had pierced wasn't doing so well, even in his frenzied state. His attempt to avenge his brethren was weakened by his disability, allowing Ayna to simply pull back to dodge the swing of his blade. After retrieving her spear from the first warrior's corpse, Ayna feigned a slash at the remaining fishman, forcing him to stumble back after being caught off-guard.

Realizing the trickery, he screamed at her in anger. "You stupid bitch! You've made a terrible mistake! She'll have your head soon enough! SHE'LL HAVE ALL YOUR HEADS!" Ayna ignored his empty threat, instead putting her spear's blade through his right eye and into his skull, effectively ending his unsolicited tirade. She stared him down as his body dropped to the floor of her deck, pulling out her blade and whipping it in the air to flick off its blood. Ayna did not appreciate being yelled at, especially by something so inferior.

"It's always the weak who likes to talk a lot."

The Mizar, Ilmea's Lament
-50 HP from Blood Frenzied, Dying Fishmen Retal (x2)

As two more fishmen warriors tried to jump at @Ayna Nietzsche, Chrys intercepted them with a powerful punch in the air, sending the one he hit squarely in the cheek right into the other one. Both warriors fell into the water, the impact immediately knocking them out. Landing on his feet, Chrys flashed the magia a playful smirk, taking to her side to watch her back. He was still relatively soaking wet. That never stopped a mountain man, though.

"Sorry, I'm late, Captain. Looks like the invaders have been fended off, though."

With hands on his hips, and snorting out some water in his nose, he gestured around them. Most of the fishmen warriors were either out on the deck or already off the ship. There was no sharkman brute in sight, with two of them having been taken out by Chrys earlier. The rest of the crew were starting to clean up, themselves and what they could of where they were on the ship. Both Cymry and Dolly appeared relatively unscathed as well.

The Mizar, Ilmea's Lament

Ayna quickly turned around, anticipating the commotion behind her, only to watch as @Chrys took down her would-be attackers. Her eyes followed his descent, as he landed near her, soaking wet. She scowled at how he was but could not ignore the fact that he did save her life. Well, more like helped her fend off that pair of fishmen. Ayna had no doubts she would've been able to take care of them herself. Hmm.

Looking around them, Ayna could only nod at Chrys' statement. He was right. She could not deny his statement. The invaders have been fended off. The rest of the ship was, once again, cleaning up after the remains of the battle. She scowled at that last word. Battle... It was more like an ambush, a terrible attempt to dissuade our efforts... Ayna did not like that thought one bit. She immediately addressed everyone on board.

"Everyone! It's time to descend into the trench. Those who want to join us, put on the helm that Sally will bring out. After my modifications, it should help with breathing underwater."

There was no lack of confidence in the Captain's voice. It wasn't her bragging about her engineering skills either. It was just fact. That translated easily to those who heard her, and as the rest of her crew, well, half of them anyway, as she needed those she trusted to wait for her and guard the ship, she turned to Chrys, handing him one of the helm, a challenge to his mettle. Will the so-called God of Rocks sink deeper into the abyss? Only one way to find out.

The Mizar, Ilmea's Lament

Chrys hesitated for a bit, eyeing everyone else before actually taking Ayna's offered helm. He further inspected the strange thing before voicing out his concerns, eyes still on the equipment.

"Uhh... You sure this is safe, Captain?"

Chrys meant to disrespect, and the question was more of a clarification, certainly not disbelief in her skills when it came to machines and equipment. He couldn't help but think that she was challenging him to do more than he had already done for her, though, which was, as the kids say these days, wacky races. Chrys had basically wiped out the major obstacles in their expedition. He had nothing left to prove.

He has also almost drowned for their cause not too long ago. In fact, if he wasn't pulled out by Dolly and Cymry, he might've died right then and there. Why would he venture back into the depths of these uncertain seas? Might be a lot of treasure down there, though. Hmm...

The Mizar → Razortail Abyss, Ilmea's Lament

Ayna took a deep breath, a little annoyed at what she perceived was a challenge by @Chrys, before shoving the helm as hard as she could toward him. She didn't have time for his silly antics. The fish people had shot first with that ambush. Now they were going to get their revenge. No one puts magia in a corner.

"Put it on and join us, or stay here. The choice is yours."

Without waiting for him to respond, Ayna put her own helm on. With a final nod toward everyone on her ship, most especially her most trusted crewmates, she then dove into the water, unafraid and certainly unfazed by what else the fish people would have waiting for them down there. The trench was, not surprisingly, brightly lit, as it was within the sunlight zone beneath the surface of the water. The water of the trench, however, was a bit deep and turbulent. Ayna looked around her to find some of her team members struggling a bit as they tried to get used to the situation.

Ayna, however, didn't find that much difficulty moving through the water. It was, as if, she was simply floating in the air. It would have been strange to find a Master of Dynamism have such difficulty, but it's not unheard of. Sometimes, no matter how good you are at something, you will still suffer a bad day. The Captain tried her best to urge everyone to take their time, gesturing for them to calm down and take it easy. There were no fish men around, so they could afford to take a moment to get their bearings straight.

OOC/Combat Guidelines
As we've both agreed on through DMs, this underwater battle will feature some interesting mechanics.

The deep, turbulent water of the trench makes movement difficult for creatures not used to it, so the adventurers must spend 2 feet of movement for every 1 movement it moves as a roleplay guideline. Due to the helm device modified by Ayna, there is no concern regarding breathing underwater.

Additionally, adventurers must succeed on a DC 50 Fitness or Knack Check whenever they try to move or have their speed reduced to 0 (Immobile) until the start of their next turn. This applies to the Diving Progress, which requires 4 successful checks (be creative with failures), and to the inevitable combat. The fish people can move normally in the trench.

The Mizar → Razortail Abyss, Ilmea's Lament

Chrys was left staring at the helm @Ayna Nietzsche had shoved into his chest. Despite Ayna shoving it as hard as she could, it barely left a mark on the massive mountain man's manly man muscles. He was a paragon of fitness and fortitude, truly the man's man. Hearing a bunch of splashes close by, he finally shifted his attention toward the wide blue sea, only then realizing that the Captain and select members of her crew, including Dolly and Cymry, had already descended into the depths.

"Oh, shit! Captain, wait for me!"

Chrys quickly wore the helm and everything else before throwing himself into the water. He may think he was a rock, fated to only sink into the depths of the waters, but he was, as aforementioned, a paragon of fitness and fortitude. His swimming style wasn't as graceful as Ayna's, or anyone else's for that matter, but he was not drowning, and that's all that really mattered. Chrys was forcing himself upon the waves and the waters, establishing his dominance against sinking. This may be far easier than he had expected.

The Mizar → Razortail Abyss, Ilmea's Lament

How the fuck?! Ayna was a whirlwindpool of emotions, specifically surprise, anger, annoyance, and a mild hint of amusement. She had expected @Chrys to drown, or at the very least scream for help as soon as he descended into these depths, but seeing him flail around like a brutish orc having his first swim made her wonder if he was like that in real life. I hope not. He's not going to make his girlfriend feel any less regretful of having agreed to be his girlfriend.

Shaking her head at him when their eyes met, she then focused her attention on helping the rest of the crew swim to where the fish people would most likely be waiting for them. If they were lucky, the smug bastards would think their paltry ambush would've gotten them in one fell swoop, sunk their ship, and drowned their men. Otherwise, they would be in for the fight of their lives. Ayna wasn't quite sure which scenario she wanted more. Either way, however, she was going to fillet some fish tonight!

Razortail Abyss, Ilmea's Lament

Despite @Chrys' shenanigans, the party managed to arrive where they needed to be. The ruins of the sunken island were wedged precariously in the undersea trench, with the skeletal frames of the local houses still standing but the gruesome remains of villagers strewn about. Ayna clenched her jaw at what remained of the place, clearly angered by the needless deaths. More than anything, she would have benefitted more from the pirate activity, as guild requests pretty much fed her sea adventures. With less pirates in the area, with this destruction, she lamented the prospect of having, well, less prospects out here in the Lament. Stupid fish people! You're ruining my stuff!

Soon, her eyes found five of the aforementioned fish people flanked by several of the shark-like monsters they had fought earlier. Most of them were kneeling within the ruins, and when Ayna carefully swam closer, she saw they were kneeling before a fish woman wearing a magnificent headdress. That's definitely their leader, right? The one with the scepter? The scepter we have to retrieve? Nice. The figure in question was chanting something in an unknown language, which Ayna of course could barely hear but managed to realize through the former's giant moving lips. Then she saw it, what the leader was holding aloft: a gleaming scepter tipped with a glowing amethyst eye. Eureka!

Ignoring the ritual, wherein a drowned villager was in the middle of every other fish or shark person, Ayna gestured for her party to take out the entire congregation. Fuck whatever that leader was channeling. Fuck whatever the other creatures were doing around her. Fuck that already dead villager in the middle of them all. Ayna's focus was on getting that scepter. Fuck everything else.

-25 HP from Sharkman Brute Dying Retal
+25 to a Save Roll next cycle from @Chrys' Savior

Exchanging glances with @Ayna Nietzsche, Chrys knew what he needed to do. He had been so good at taking out the two shark giants from the earlier ambush on the ship. Surely he'd be needed to remove these two new ones from the equation. Or were these the same two creatures he had beaten down that same ambush? Eh. Potato, potato. That reads weird on text but it should be read as that age-old difference in accent. Or pronunciation. Whatever worked.

Pushing himself through the waters, closer to the site of the ritual shenanigans, Chrys' eyes glowed a brilliant golden shade as he willed his Auric Geomancy to cause a tremor in the ground where the fish people knelt. The shark abominations in particular found themselves struggling to maintain their footing (knee-ing?) as the shaking earth under them loosened earth and stone, becoming quite a difficult terrain to handle. One of them even fell prone, knocked unconscious when its face was slammed against the ground due to the cumbersome shifting of momentum. Even Chrys winced at that latter visual. Oof.

Chrys winced so hard, he didn't see the huge piece of earth the same shark abomination threw at him before it fully fell unconscious. The remaining shark giant screamed at the others, though Chrys was too distracted by getting hit with a giant rock to hear what it said. If it even said anything. Ah, crap! That actually hurts, damn it! It didn't but he wanted to feel something. Anything. But bet it's gonna hurt a lot more real soon.

Razortail Abyss, Ilmea's Lament
-35 HP (Drowned Priestess Retal)
+15 HP (Mitigation from @Chrys' Guardian)

As soon as @Chrys did his thing against the scaled ritualists, moving the earth underneath their...fins and already taking out one of the shark men brutes, Ayna pointed her spear toward the same congregation, signaling for the rest of their party to launch their own attack. In her head, they all screamed their respective battle cries, though out there, underwater, no one could hear them scream.

Although they had gained the upper hand, or at least the initiative with their ambush, their enemies were still better fighters in all that water. The fish warriors and shark men brutes quickly regained their footing, or fin-ing, and met them in active combat. Ayna, however, ignored everyone else and surged forward, toward the Drowned Priestess, using her artificial body's aero-boosters, which manifested on her boots, to propel her straight into the ring leader.

Although Ayna's blade proved to be a deadly piercing weapon, the Priestess barely managed to keep herself afloat, defending against the full potential of the Lightning Lancer of the Lament's lethal attack with her scepter. As soon as the magia saw the treasure, and more importantly realized that she could break it if she wasn't careful, she pushed herself back, floating a bit away from the Priestess. However, the sea sorceress took the opportunity to get her revenge, pointing the scepter at Ayna and blasting her with eldritch magic.

Or at least she tried.

Ayna did get hit, though only on the shoulder, which was thanks mostly to Chrys' timely intervention. The self-proclaimed God of Rocks had pulled Ayna toward him at the last second, guarding his captain and making sure the blast would hit no one square in the face, especially neither of them. The two exchanged glances again, with Ayna giving him a quick nod as a sign of gratitude for helping her. She then clenched her jaw, staring daggers at the Drowned Priestess as she gripped the body of her spear tightly.

"You fools," the aquatic mage screamed at them. "You disgusting land dwellers, you weak mouth breathers, you are only delaying the inevitable. Soon, you will drown and die a painful and horrific death, a death you and your ilk deserve!"

The Drowned Priestess then floated backward, once again pointing her scepter at the adventurers, only this time no magic blasted forth from the treasure. Behind its wielder, however, another massive shark-like abomination swam toward them, snarling and frenzied. Son of a <basseal honk>!

All around them, a furious battle continued to ensue.

-30 HP from Frenzied Sharkman Brute Retal
+25 to a Save Roll next cycle from @Chrys' Savior

After saving parts of her ass, Chrys gave @Ayna Nietzsche a confident smirk that pretty much said: Don't worry, Captain! I got this! He had already taken one of those hulking shark gym bros. Another one, even if they looked like they were so hungry they'd just swallow him whole, didn't make much of a difference to the God of Rocks.

But he was wrong! Wrong, wrong, wrong!

This new shark hulk wasn't as easy to take care of. This guy was too enraged to be taken down so easily. As Chrys met the rushing monstrosity, the shark man brute withstood his protective grapple, swimming through him and past the adventurer's captain. With a roar, the damned thing grappled Chrys in retaliation, squeezing tightly his beefy arms. Chrys winced in pain but maintained his hold on the damned and very physically buffed abominable shark man.

Goddamn, this one's big and beefy! Might... Need... To up my game some more... Definitely doesn't miss leg day, or is it fin day, this guy. Capitalism give me strength!

Man and shark man were caught in a tight, violent embrace! Who will falter? Will it be the guy whose entire magic was dependent on rocks and shit? Or will it be the faceless, nameless, shark-like abomination? Only time, and tide, will tell! Time to layeth the fisheth down!

❰ PROTECTED ❱ by @Chrys
-50 HP (Dying Drowned Priestess Retal)
+15 HP (Mitigation from @Chrys' Guardian)

With @Chrys taking it upon himself to handle the additional shark monster, Ayna turned her full attention to the Drowned Priestess. Brandishing her spear, the magia rushed toward her the scepter-wielding aquatic mage, propelling herself through the waters with the boosters on her ankles. Instead of defending herself with the scepter, however, the frenzied priestess tried to blast Ayna with her eldritch magic, which she did albeit a second too late. The Lightning Lancer of the Lament had already punctured her rib with speed and steel, effectively ending her reign of underwater terror, but at the cost of getting blasted in the face.

Fortunately for Ayna, Chrys once again saved her butt, although more painfully this time. The geomancer somehow pushed the shark monster he was tussling with toward Ayna, moving her out of the way of the full force of the priestess' magic. Ayna still got hit, again, but it wasn't as bad as it would have been if Chrys didn't have her back.

"You...fools," the mystical leader of the hostile fish folk slowly breathed her last as she floated helplessly in the waters now reddened by her blood. "You...disgusting land...dwellers... You weak...mouth...breathers... I may die now... But the revolution...will persist..." Ayna ignored the creature's dying words and instead mustered through the eldritch pain to retrieve the scepter before it could fall deeper into the abyss, lost to time and memory.

When she succeeded, the magia stared hard at the weapon, gripping it tightly. She then turned to the rest of the people down there, both of her ship and of the scaled rebellion. Ayna raised the scepter over her head, as her hair wafted aimlessly in the waters, and a bright cerulean light exploded, demanding everyone's attention. Upon realizing their battle was lost, the remaining warriors and brutes of the sea quickly disengaged and swam back into the darkness where they belonged. One of them, the shark monster that Chrys had tangled with, brought with them the remains of their priestess.

Ayna exchanged looks with everyone on her side before briefly giving them a nod, gesturing toward the surface. The battle was over, for now, but a part of her knew deep down that the war was just beginning. Oh, well. That wouldn't be her problem. This was her last adventure on the high seas, considering everything that had happened. It would be some other pirate lady (@Samantha Yurei)'s concern now.

Good riddance, and good luck!

Ayna's concern at the moment was getting her crew back on her ship, safe and sound, and as she swam with them to the surface, she knew that they had triumphed over strange odds. Together. But perhaps, for the last time.

Razortail Abyss → The Mizar, Ilmea's Lament

Once again, Chrystopheles Hardrockhardman saved the day! Well, the Captain's ass, anyway. Close enough. That third shark abomination might have been strong, and definitely much tougher for Chrys to wrestle, but every strong guy always has one weakness: their own momentum. So, Chrys pushed him off of him, using the shark monster's own pride and fury, leading to the damned thing bumping into @Ayna Nietzsche. Yikes.

At first, Chrys winced. He was already expecting her to get mad at him for the nth time, maybe even yell at him, call him names and all that jazz, but then he realized, after seeing the fish priestess' eldritch blast, that he had actually saved her from more pain. Definitely intentional.

He was still grinning from ear to ear, celebrating his defense should Ayna fail to notice his heroism, when he realized she had already slayed their mage. The rest of the fishies swam away, hiding back to wherever fish hole they came back. Yeah, you better run, guppies!

He was still grinning from ear to ear, again, celebrating their victory still when he saw everyone else swimming back to shore. In retrospect, he should have been paying attention to everyone else, but doing the macarena underwater took more precedence. Bah, no matter. I've got the earth on my side.

Chrys quickly did some hand gestures, the same you'd see from a Grisha in Shadow and Bone (it's a cool show, you should definitely watch it), and before anyone knew it, a column of earth surged forward from the depths of the seas, carrying every single member of Ayna's crew, including the two of them, through and out of the water, until they were elevated over the side of her ship, the outcrop massive and unmoving.

Chrys quickly took the helm off his head, grinning at his Captain with that same annoying but playful smirk.

"LAND HO!"

He just sat there, on that wet column of earth, as everyone else groaned and did a hop to get themselves off of his creation, his transmutation of solid ground previously underwater, and back onto the ship. As easy as that. Well, that was fun! Skipping sushi for a week, maybe a month... Probably eating a lot of those sharkfins, though. Whatever those are. Sounds gross, but I shall have my vengeance! Hehehe. Also, I need to pee. I... Ah... Never mind.

Razortail Abyss → The Mizar, Ilmea's Lament

Ayna could barely hear the deep earth's rumbling with that helm, but after feeling the strange vibrations in the water as the crew was swimming back up to where her ship was, she turned to take a look behind. Was @Chrys all right? Was he making those vibrations? Or was the battle not yet over, a new unearthly challenger ascending from the depths of that trench? So many questions filled her mind, but it didn't take the answer to come straight for her.

What the actual <basseal honk>?! A column of earth rose from the depths of the waters, and while Ayna was quick enough to dodge out of its way, her crew wasn't. She felt her heart race when she heard them scream, though she could swear she saw Chrys on that makeshift elevator as well. Ayna was already swimming fast in an attempt to save everyone when she realized something stupid: A column of earth, with a geomancer on it, did that just mean...? Ayna groaned as she hurled herself next to it, breaking through the surface of the water almost at the same time as the earthen construct did, maybe even before, and landing on her knee on a deck. Superhero landing, oh, yeah!

She was just getting back up to her feet when she heard Chrys' annoying voice. Scowling, she took off her helmet and helped her crew off that wet column of earth, squinting and glaring daggers at the geomancer. If she didn't need him, if she didn't have to thank him for saving her life more times than she cared to count, she would've electrocuted him right then and there. But that would be a bad look for the Captain of the Mizar, so she reined her anger in and just stared at him with the utmost contempt.

As soon as the last of her men, rather women, were back on her ship, on her deck, and off of Chrys' dumbass construct, she turned her back to him and began walking to her quarters, still gripping tightly the scepter that she had taken from the fish men's priestess. It was the prize of their journey, and would most definitely fetch a good price from the black market the pirates and their ilk was known to employ. She could sell it to more respectable establishments, sure, but she didn't want the law to interfere with her shit. At least not yet.

"Hands aloft to loose the fore top, main top, fore topm'st stays'l!"

Ayna began to go through the process with her crew, preparing to leave the premises lest they end up being victimized by the vengeful fish men of the trench. They got what they came for. She had the scepter and the rest can report back that this place now belongs to those fish people. Well, to be fair, they'd already taken down their priestess, but anger like that? Ayna wouldn't be surprised if it lasted decades. No sailor would be safe sailing through these parts. Not that it mattered to her.

It was someone else's problem now.

The Mizar, Ilmea's Lament

To say that Chrystopheles wasn't impressed when @Ayna Nietzsche did her stupid superhero landing would be a lie. It was stupid, yes, and very much cringe, but it was still very impressive, especially since he forgot she had an artificial body, so it was less punishing for her knees than it would be for someone human or flesh-like like him. Damn, Captain. Damn.

Once everyone boarded the ship, he, too, jumped off his outcropping and magicked it back down into the depths of the trench. As if nothing happened. Chrys tried shaking himself dry, not unlike a shaggy old dog, before following the Captain as she did her thing, yelling orders at the crew. His eyes and curiosity were enthralled by the scepter in her hands, which was definitely not the same weapon she used to murder all those pirates and fish dudes.

"Well, well, well, Captain... What do you have there in your hands? A trophy from OUR kill, hm?"

For most people, especially landers, that kind of quip would have their head cut off and stuck on a long pike. For Chrystopheles NoLastName, however, ground-types beat electric-types, so he was pretty confident he could take whatever Ayna would blast him with. Most likely that purple lightning of hers. He was, however, banking on the fact that since he did save her life numerous times in this adventure, she'd cut him some slack and actually humor his curiosity. Fingers crossed.

The Mizar, Ilmea's Lament

Ayna heaved a sigh. She had hoped no one would notice her slink back with the scepter in hand, but of course, the greedy capitalist would not be denied. @Chrys probably had an innate radar for these things, which was odd since she was the magia, not him. Then again, it might just be appropriate, considering the massive mountain man always had his nose in businesses involving gold, coin, and whatever else was considered treasure these days.

"Shut the fuck up or keep your voice down and follow me."

She had told them all about the scepter, yes, how it was her and her crew's secondary objective of sailing around these parts. They had even agreed to split the reward three ways: a third to her, a third to her crew, and a third to the adventurers who remained on board. But Ayna felt revealing the scepter's presence, and reminding everyone else of the sort, would be a terrible idea at this point in time.

Who knew if there was truly a rat on board, someone who snitched on them to those pirates that ambushed them days ago, and if they truly caught it now? She trusted her crew, but trust can only go so far, and they were all wily as her. And what of the adventurers? When it comes to gold, everyone had a mind of their own, and rightfully so.

So, she decided then and there, to hide the damned thing until they were finally ashore. Then, and only then, should they divide the spoils of their victory. Chrys just had to fucking complicate things by noticing the damned thing. But Ayna had a plan, though she wasn't quite sure she'd like it herself.

Leading him back inside her quarters, after making sure no one else was close by, she began to take off her wet clothes. Then she opened the cabinet under her table, taking out a bottle of fine rum and two glasses for herself and Chrys.

"Close the door behind you and get comfortable."

A captain has to save her ship.

The Mizar, Ilmea's Lament

Chrystopheles Wetstone raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a smirk, when the Captain gave him his marching others. Intrigued, he followed her closely behind while keeping a close eye on her, well, behind. One never knows when an ambush will strike again. It felt like he's saved her life numerous times during this excursion, she might as well hand him his just rewards then and there. Patience, self. All in due time.

The massive mountain man tried to copy @Ayna Nietzsche's body language as they made their way to her quarters, greeting each and everyone they came across with a smile and a respectful nod, though he didn't notice some of the crew eyeing him suspiciously. Did they not see him see to their Captain's survival all those times? Probably not. One can't see everything during battles, especially with so many environmental factors like rain and water and wetness.

Ah. Chrystopheles wasn't quite sure how to react as the Captain began to take off her wet clothes. A very practical move, as she was in her quarters after all, but also very suspicious, considering she was not alone at the moment. Chrys was there, Chrys who had spotted the strange scepter in her hands, the same scepter that was to be their treasure divided into three. Still, he followed her command and closed the door behind him. He warily approached a seat and took it but declined the glass of rum. Chrys was more of a Pimm's kind of guy.

"Thank you, Captain, but I'm not here to drink. I just want to know what your plan is regarding our...treasure. You spoke of splitting it three ways earlier, but now you're hiding it with you here, away from two-thirds of that three-way. Or is it just a third? Cymry, and Dolly especially, would not take kindly to that, as they did just risk their lives to help you and your crew against the Drowned Priestess."

In all honestly, Chrystopheles did not care about Cymry and Dolly. All he cared about was himself, and the profits he'd make with his cut of the prize. He had already established solid trading deals with Dolly and the blacksmith earlier, but he was not one to let any coin slip through his very capable fingers.

The Mizar, Ilmea's Lament

Ayna heaved a sigh. Again. She had hoped @Chrys would be easily persuaded by alcohol and her bare flesh, but then again, the man did have a girl outside of the game and her flesh wasn't truly flesh. Outside of having an artificial body, they weren't really in this world. At least not in the same way as they were outside of it. It was hard to explain, harder if one has never been fascinated with philosophies and the humanities, and Ayna had no time going through that tangent.

"Very well," Ayna deposited the rum and the glasses on her table as she instead pursued a dry towel to, well, dry her artificial body. "What I spoke of earlier is still the plan, though I'd rather not get everyone else distracted while we're still at sea. After all, we can't get ambushed again.

Ayna reiterated to him, as she watched him with keen eyes, her plan to hide the treasure until they returned to shore. There was still the matter of the rat on board, and if they slip up and it finds out about what they had taken back from the battle, it might send a missive to its companions to ambush them again. It has happened before. Ayna was not keen on letting it happen again. Not while they're all tired and in need of some respite from the perils of the seas.

"Once we're back on shore, the split happens as discussed: a third to me so I can maintain the ship, a third for the crew and their services, and of course, a third for you, Cymry, and Dolly. Does that suffice, God of Rocks?

Ayna raised an eyebrow as she threw the towel back on its rack, her arms crossing over her chest. That last line was a mocking statement, though Chrys would probably take that as a compliment. While she would not raise a weapon against him, at least not then and there, she was already planning on contingencies should he decline the plan. As of that time, none of them involved just listening to his counteroffer.

The Mizar, Ilmea's Lament

Chrystopheles Hardcoral found himself in deep contemplation. What started as an attempt to distract himself from memorizing every part of the magia's artificial body became a much more serious gesture to think all that she had said through.

Outside of fun and jokes, wealth even in this game is always serious business, especially when you involve others not part of your friend group. If it were just between him and the currently bare woman, he wouldn't have minded her plan. But with others like her crew and the two other adventurers with them, things might just be more complicated than necessary.

"I assume your crew is already aware of such antics from their captain, so my only concern is Cymry and Dolly. The former, I believe, wouldn't really care, but the latter? Well, let me handle her. She's smart when it comes to business, but when it comes to everything else? She's not that bright."

It was a smart plan. Even the massive mountain man could not deny that truth. They had just been through so much, battle upon battle, and a quiet return to shore would be appreciated greatly by their bodies and their minds. No point in cluttering their thoughts with additional rewards. The completion of their job was enough. At least for the moment that was true. Once they've all recovered, refreshed their minds, more gold, more coin, more stuff would be celebrated exuberantly.

"I suppose it would suffice, my dear Captain!"

Chrystopheles gave @Ayna Nietzsche a playful smirk before rising from his seat. Slowly, he approached her, and after closing the gap between them, their bodies inches from each other, he just stood there and reached for the abandoned glass of rum, throughout not breaking eye contact. Chrystopheles then placed the edge of the glass upon his lips and took a long sip, expressing his delight at the fiery drink with an audible moan. Still, he did not break eye contact with her. Now this...is how you should play your mind games, Ayna.
