...they were still back at the Trinity Center, in the combat chamber. Lily had managed to burst the out-of-bounds pyramid from within, one of her nymphs shattering it completely from the outside right after. But as they started celebrating Trinity's loss, the small feline who was frantically dancing through the whole ordeal came rushing and hugged the water elf out of nowhere. An experience most novel for the girl, who nearly fell over from the sudden force imposed onto her small frame. Thankfully Chako happened to be even smaller and presumably lighter than the elf.

And though her concern was very much appreciated, it might have been somewhat wasted in this instance. Lily dealt with the imprisonment quickly, and she was not affected too badly. In fact, now that she was looking closer, the feline seemed... like she might have actually still been a kid? As a gesture to return the kindness, Lily would pat Chako's head as sobs resumed. But the blue-haired AI was just about done with her speech and the reality only existing for Starcalled came unwinding. The challenge was done and the participants were about to get kicked out.

---- and that is how the two of them got into this situation.

At a table in a cozy inn in Honeyhome. The Trinity center seemingly spat them out where they had entered it from, so here they were... and as it would be a bit mean to leave the small feline alone in the state that she was in, Lily practically dragged her into the build. But now that they were here... what exactly would come next? The water elf was hardly one for conversation, so she sat on her chair, bare soles pressed up against the edge of the seat as she hugged her legs, staring directly at Chako with a bit of a bemused expression, her golden standard.

Chako felt a bit at ease at having her head patted. Not enough to start purring, but enough to reduce the sobs a bit.

Then... Chako was back at Honeyhome, Huh? and then she was being dragged to a sit, Huh!? and now the summoner girl was staring straight at her... Huh!?!?!?

The confusion at the whole situation was enough to momentanously stop Chako's sobs, even if her eyes were still tearful. Her sight was a bit blurry, but she tried paying attention to the girl.

What am I even supposed to do here? The girl was in a somewhat defensive position, but she didn't seem to be troubled, so Chako was really lost right now.

Still, she figured she should say something, so say something she did, "I-I, uhn... Sorry. Sorry for..." Chako's eyes got more tearful as she remembered the feeling of the hair being taken out of her lungs, "Well, everything...

"A-and, thank you... For all the help there a-and... The comfort too..."
Chako fidgeted a lot. She really didn't know what to say, and she was scared of breaking down crying again if she kept on talking... Or rather, she was still crying, just not sobbing too, "I-I'm Chako. W-what's your name?"

The worrisome attitude of a young feline was perhaps completely countered by the most simple of gestures from the other side of the table - a thumbs up. That was it. No words or sounds, Lily simply extended her hand toward Chako and showed her a thumbs up to indicate that her thanks were acknowledged and that she didn't have to really apologize for anything.

Now, there was the matter of introducing oneself. The elven girl placed her hand on the table and started tracing with her finger, as if she was attempting to draw letters into the hard wooden surface. Though she quickly paused and let out a sigh before locking eyes with the feline, narrowing her gaze, blue eyes piercing as if she was trying to look directly into Chako's soul. And then, soundless words...

Lily of the Lake

It would simply appear inside of the girl's mind as if they were her own thoughts, spoken in her own voice. Lily continued to gaze at the other girl in mild anticipation, mostly to see how the other would react to it all. Probably not every day that someone put words directly into your mind in such a way.

Chako didn't know what to take of the girl's actions... Like... A thumbs up? W-what was this even supposed to mean? What was she agreeing with? What was-?

Chako suddenly noticed the girl's moving fingers on the table... Was there a meaning behind this? Chako wasn't sure and... A sigh? What was-?

"Nya!?" Chako jumped in place... "W-what was that!?" She stared at the girl's eyes, who was staring intensely back at Chako.

Could this be...? "Lily...?" Chako muttered, trying to search for any sign of confirmation, "You're... Mute?" She couldn't help asking. It was the only thing that came to mind when considering the voice that had suddenly appeared in her mind.

But... "But you're Starcalled, right?" That place with Trinity was only for Starcalled, right? "Then wasn't Arcia... Wasn't Arcia able to heal your voice?" Did it not work like that for everything? Were there limits to what getting a new body could do?

"Sorry... It must be a painful topic..." Chako felt the sobs returning. The tears flowing freely again, "It's just... I-I never had proper legs before, you know? Coming to Arcia was a dream come true to me. I had never been able to move them before I came here.

"So I thought... I thought everyone could live their dreams here..." It hurt... It hurt to see Lily. It hurt to see her condition... It hurt that Chako was probably hurting Lily with her words, "S-sorry, I-I... I'm sorry..." The last thing Chako wanted was to hurt someone, yet she was doing it right now... How could she keep on messing up so badly? Why didn't she shut up the moment she realized Lily was mute? Why did she keep on talking!?

... Why was Chako pitying her? Chako hated being pitied. Why was she doing what she hated people doing to her?

Chako was getting really angry at herself... Which just made her tears flow more and more easily.

As Lily expected, Chako was taken back by the sudden form of communication. Everyone she had tried this on so far has been like that. Perhaps there weren't that many elves to begin with? Or, much more likely, they didn't just use this ability on others without a warning. Ah well, at least the feline child did realize that Lily was indeed the girl's name, and that it was her transmitting these messages. In fact, she quickly derived the truth of the matter - Lily's condition. Though her reaction to it was much stronger than the elf had expected.

Tilting her head to the side, she thought for a moment before shaking her head. It seemed that Chako was a kind child, assuming her physical appearance was indicative of her age outside of the game as well. It was painful for Lily as well, to hear that someone like that was unfortunate enough to live with such a condition. But at least she had the blessing that was this game. So she tried to explain herself a bit more. The voiceless words would pop in the girl's head once more.

Deaf outside. Not deaf here. But no reason to learn to speak. No voice outside still. But ‎ ‎ ‎ can still talk like this

Along with the last part of her message, the elven girl started gesturing. Sign language - common gestures but still something that most people were unfamiliar with. She didn't expect Chako to understand, it was merely to emphasize that just because she lacked a voice outside of Arcia, it didn't mean she couldn't 'talk'. So in an attempt to cheer the girl up and show that all was well, she pressed her index fingers against the corners of her mouth and pushed them up to make a smile, then pointed at Chako herself while keeping a warm smile herself.

Chako did not know what to take of Lily's expression amidst her blurry eyesight, but... Lily did not seem to be displeased by Chako's pitying words at least.

And then, more words entered Chako's head. It was still very strange, but she was expecting it now, so she wasn't that surprised this time around, "Deaf...?" Chako understood it now... Well, to some extent. She certainly couldn't understand the idea of someone feeling like there was no reason to learn how to speak, but...

Well, seeing Lily use some sign language, that Chako was absolutely unable to read, and the smile made with the index fingers, made Chako smile a bit and grab a hold of Lily's hands, "Then I guess we're similar! Me coming here to have legs, you to have ears!" Well, functional legs and functional ears, but details.

"It's my first time seeing someone who came here for a similar reason, you know? And like... How to say it, isn't it really strange? Like... Why would people play an illegal game if not for a disability!? It's so weird to me!

"I mean, like, it's really easy to understand it now that I'm here, like... Arcia is so... Real. It's truly like living a second life. I love it here; and not just because of my legs, so I totally get why other people would keep coming here, but... I really can't imagine why they'd try Terrasphere out in the first place." Talking about it was calming Chako down a bit. It felt nice to find someone in a similar situation to her.

"Oh, how did it feel when you first got here? Was it weird to be hearing for the first time? Was it fun!? Exciting!? I could hardly believe how natural my legs felt when I first got here, you know!? I still forget how to put strength on them from time to time though, which makes me trip with some frequency, but like... It feels so nice! Being here really is a dream come true to me!" Well, there were still some bad things though, like wolves... And having her air taken out of her lungs... And just thinking about those things sent some shivers down Chako's spine, but...

It didn't change the fact she truly loved Arcia. That she had no plans of ever stopping herself from coming here.

In all honesty, Lily's condition was not what had motivated her to try this game out. But she kept that to herself, not wanting to disrupt Chako's thoughts. After all, she could understand why people would join this game to be free of their disabilities, even if it was only momentary until they returned back to the physical world. Certainly, that was why Lily didn't quite feel like figuring out the whole speaking thing. If she'd lose the ability the moment she had to return, it would be only disappointment awaiting.

But, amusingly, now that the feline child got over her tears, she became quite the chatterbox. So much so that she was having trouble keeping up with it all, so for now, she only answered one of her questions - how did it feel when she first could hear?

Overwhelming

But if she was to keep up with this conversation, she had to do something. Thankfully, they were both momentarily interrupted as a waitress approached their table.

Excuse me, are you two ready to order?

Lily quickly nodded, slipping her hands from Chako's hold to take a hold of the menu sitting on the table, turning it toward the waitress and pointing at something.

Hm? You want that... pancakes with strawberry ice cream, forest syrup, and an assortment of fruits? Good choice, good choice! And what about you, young lady?

As the waitress turned to Chako to take her order, Lily started fiddling with something, almost as if she was typing on an invisible keyboard. And once the feline got her order in and the tavern employee left, a notification would come through.

"Eh...?" Was Chako speaking too much? Or was that an answer? Answer to what? Maybe her first time joining Terrasphere? hearing? Chako could imagine that might be it, but she was now unsure and-

Oh, the waitress was here. And it was now Chako's turn to order... She started fidgeting, "Ah, about that... I-I don't have any money, so you can just bring the things for Lily." Chako said with a wry smile.

... She really should try figuring out a way to get some money. It would be troublesome if this happened every time someone brought her to a cafe-

"Nya!?" Chako jumped in place as she saw the notification appear in front of her... She really wasn't used to those things appearing at all, as she disabled basically everything of her UI.

But... She smiled, "Thank you. For thinking of me like that." And accepted it.

Should she talk some more? But Lily had just said she was overwhelming, so she didn't want to be too much of a bother, but it would be awkward if they just stayed silent, but... Ah, right, maybe something else was overwhelming and... Chako was really unsure of how to proceed now.

Well, that wouldn't do. When Chako said she didn't have any money, Lily showed two fingers at the waitress when the two made eye contact, trying to hide it from the feline if possible. With a smile, the waitress nodded, jotted down the order, and left the two alone once again.

<Chat group - Chako, Lily>

It will be easier to communicate like this if you don't understand sign language. Still not used to telepathy.

You can speak and I will reply here, if that's okay.

>:3

Oh, no emojis. Anyway, my first time here was overwhelming. Specialized hearing aid helps me hear a little bit in the real world, but there are many more loud and sharp sounds here.

I've also met someone who joined this place not because of a disability. They just wanted to explore and love the freedom this world gives them. They were a little strange, but seemed kind.

After that barrage of messages to answer everything Chako had said before, Lily stopped furiously typing at the keyboard of her UI that no one else could see, possibly making her appear a little crazy to everyone else. Though she hardly cared about that, only looking at the feline across the table to gauge her reaction to all of this.

"N-nya!?" Chako jumped in place once again as another pop up appeared in her UI... This time of she receiving messages.

"A-ah, sorry, I'm receiving some messages. G-give me a bit." She thought it was rude to check her phone on the table, and this probably felt very similar, but... When considering she had received more than one message, it might have been important. Maybe something happened to Ruby, so she figured she'd check.

Besides, Lily also seemed to be a bit busy with managing her UI, so it should be fine? Probably? Chako hoped it would be fine at least... "Oh!" And only then did she find the string of messages that Lily sent her.

"I see... So telepathy is also the kind of thing you have to get used to..." Chako nodded, "Makes sense. I'm still not fully used to having tails and those ears." Her ears twitched a bit after she said that, and her tails also wagged around, "I'm slowly getting the hang of it though. It's just happening naturally as I get used to my legs."

Chako then smiled as she continued reading, "Glad to hear that hearing aid could help you to some extent. We tried some prosthetics to see if they could help me move my legs, but nothing worked. Mom had been quite hopeful for a while, but eventually we just gave up and accepted that I was stuck on the wheelchair.

"It's not thaaat bad though. Like, kinda hard to hate it when I had to deal with it my whole life, yanno? Just... Well, I really love having legs here in Arcia, even if I have to go back to the wheelchair when I go back home." Even if it was temporary, Chako truly loved that feeling of independence that having functional legs gave her. She couldn't imagine giving up on Terrasphere anymore because of that.

"Wanting to explore and enjoy the freedom though?" Chako pondered for a bit, "I guess I can kinda relate... And I know some people that would probably fit into that too. Really nice people at that!" She was pretty sure Ruby played basically for this kind of reason for one, "Guess I just wonder what would lead them to booting up the game for the first time. I just can't imagine it... Starting to play an illegal game... Wouldn't you need to be pretty desperate to do that?" And as Chako said that, she kinda realized her own hypocrisy when she said just a short while ago that not having legs wasn't that bad, but she decided to not comment on it.

Watching and gauging Chako's body language might have honestly been more entertaining than anything else she had found in this world yet. Even with Vina back at the lake, it seemed that when a person had their self replaced by a 'perfect' avatar of their own making, it made people behave differently, more comfortably and expressively. It did somewhat align with the feline's idea that many people who played this game were probably disadvantaged outside of it to some extent, but...

Those ears and tails do look fluffy. Many people will probably want to pet them, so you should be careful.

And I'm sorry to hear modern technology still couldn't help you.

But I don't think you need to be desperate to try doing something illegal. Pirating games is illegal, but plenty of people do it. And there are many more examples, I think.

Just the fact that this game was illegal to play meant that plenty of people would try to play it out of sheer curiosity. Lily was among those people, as she never expected that she would regail all of her hearing in this world. Hell, all those warnings even felt overblown. How could a single game cause so much damage as to be outlawed in the whole world? Surely there must have been something else to it. And so, here she was. A curious situation indeed.

Ppl will just do what ppl always do.

Maybe some joined bcs they thought they could find and seduce a dragon and no DM could stop them.

Lily paused for a bit after she send that last message, maybe briefly regretting writing something like that down and sending it to someone who was probably far too young to actually understand the reference. Thankfully she seemed to be briefly bailed out by the waitress who carried over two glasses of water to the girls, some refreshments before the meal would arrive.

"Eh? Being petted? I don't mind it that much... Other than the purring..." Chako averted her gaze. It really was way too embarrassing to start purring, but she could never control it. She had no idea how Ruby could simply not mind it at all and purr on her own.

"Ah, don't worry too much about the tech thing though. I have lived my whole life like this, after all." Chako smiled. She wasn't sure if she believed her own words herself anymore, but it was kinda hard to stop saying it now after saying it her whole life... Besides, the last thing she needed was to make her mom worry back home because of her being uncomfortable with the wheelchair. It was better to just accept it for what it was and not worry about it.

Chako blinked a few times when reading the next message that Lily sent. Trying to make sure she wasn't misreading it, "... Wait, plenty of people pirate games!?" Chako then covered her mouth when she realized how loud she had been. It was bad to say this kind of thing out loud, wasn't it? "S-sorry..." She instantly switched to a lower tone, "I just didn't expect that..."

The next two messages were even more confusing for Chako... "Uhn..." She really didn't know what to say, "What is a DM? And... Why would anyone try to seduce a dragon? Like... Wouldn't that hurt?" Chako started blushing heavily as she tried to formulate the next words, "I mean, they're really big, so them going inside would, would... Ah, you get it!" Chako really couldn't finish that sentence!

The glasses of water arriving took Chako's focus out of the conversation for a bit, "A-ah, thank you." And she instantly drank over half of it in a single gulp. It sure was nice that they would bring her a glass of water even when she wasn't eating anything. This certainly was a nice establishment. Maybe Chako would come back here later when she actually had some money to spend. It would be nice to support people who go out of their way to be nice like that and...

... And Chako would eventually need to stop running away from reality, but she still couldn't look Lily in the eye, so she was trying to daydream for a bit to distract herself a bit and get her cheeks to stop being completely red... But judging by how hot she was feeling, this probably wasn't working...

Lily's eyes narrowed as she focused her gaze on Chako. Purring, did she say? She herself did not encounter and feline folk yet, the one across the table was the first. Vina was a fox, but those didn't purr. They just kinda... made a lot of loud noises that sometimes sounded like laughter. Though the druidess did not make any such sounds herself. So the fact that cat folk in this world would actually purr was news to her. And now that she had this knowledge, she could not help but wonder what it was like. Perhaps she could perform a sneak attack on Chako later and give her some good scritches?

But the train of thought was interrupted when Chako both showed her innocence, and some lack of it. Heck, Lily might have looked even a bit smug as she observed the girl across from her grow red in color. But the water gremlin enjoyed this only for a bit, before getting back to typing, although with a grin still remaining this time.

DM refers to a 'dungeon master'. It's from Dungeons and Dragons, but it's generally referred to in roleplay. The person who runs the whole thing.

Oh, and roleplay is when you act like your character. Basically what most people do here. Easier to do when they actually liik like their character.

Look*

And don't worry about the dragon thing, it's just a joke about bards always trying to seduce dragons instead of fighting them, because they would get scorched if they did.

There, that was probably PG enough, right? No virtual TS police about to be on her heels for teaching inappropriate jokes to a kid? Though that did make Lily wonder a few things about Chako herself... so why not ask?

So are you here alone?

Seems like a bit of a dangerous place for someone like you to be exploring alone, anyway.

Maybe she had a guardian of some kind who would ensure her safety, but she was alone in the Trinity Center, as far as Lily could recall. And given how much she was crying throughout that whole thing, well... it was probably safe to assume that things would not go well if she ran into real danger in a zone where she could actually get hurt.

Once more messages started arriving, Chako couldn't help glancing in Lily's direction... Only to find that everlasting grin on her face, which made Chako instantly avert her gaze again... Yeah, I don't need to look at her to reply to messages, right?

... No, that would be rude... Ugh... Chako forced herself to meekly gaze in Lily's direction while still feeling her cheeks burning hot.

"Oh... Someone who runs a... Roleplay?" Was that like playing pretend? Chako wasn't quite sure. Maybe like playing as a hero or a princess in distress when considering the name 'dungeons and dragons'? And the dungeon master is the evil person who locked the princess in a tower or something?

... Who would like to pretend being that? Chako was at a bit of a loss, but she kept on reading... "Bards seducing dragons...?" Chako really was lost. The joke flew over her head in its entirety.

She shook her head, deciding to not spend any more time on that. Talking about other topics helped her calm down anyways, so it was better to forget it, "You think people act like a character here though? I dunno... Aren't people just themselves here in Arcia?" It certainly felt like that to Chako at least. Nobody seemed to just be playing a role. Things were way too real here to be a place where one played pretend.

"Here?" Chako tilted her head at that, "You mean like in Arcia?" Certainly couldn't be here at the cafe because Lily was here with her, "Ah, yeah, I'm usually by myself. Sometimes I go around together with my best friend though, and at other times I meet up with some other people I've met in here... It's usually not that bad though.

"Just... Well, some things can be scary." The fur of her tails started rising up, and her pupils started dilating again just as she started remembering her first encounter with wolves... Stop it... You're just having a chat... You're safe... Chako took a deep breath, "But well... W-wolves aside, I think I'm fine with most things." Chako smiled, though she was still visibly tensed up from the vivid memories returning to her mind.

That said, she did love exploring, so a bad experience or two were not going to stop her... She just... Needed a bit more confidence to move forward. One step at a time.

It did seem that leaving the topic of Roleplay behind was probably for the best, else she would have to actually explain the whole concept from start to finish. And it didn't seem that Chako was particularly interested in something like that at the moment, what after an encounter like the one they had in the Trinity Center. Still, it was somewhat worrying that the small feline had replied in a matter that made it seem she had no real supervision here, even if she did mention a friend.

Maybe not pretending in the most literal way, but not everyone is happy with who they are in the real world.

So they see this place as a chance to start 'new' and be a person they want to be, rather than who they are. I mean, you're probably not a cat girl outside of here, either.

And you should stick with your best friend as much as you can. Just to be safe.

Just about as the last message arrived, the same waitress from before arrived back at their table, holding two plates, one in each hand. And sure enough, she place one in front of Lily... and the other in front of Chako. Several pacncackes somewhat sloppily stacked on top of each other, near-completely covered in glistening purple syrup, scoops of vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate ice cream on the side of the plate, and an assortment of fruits adorning it all.

There you are, ladies! If you need anything more, feel free to call me, and please enjoy~

Before anything else could be said, she was already gone, quick to serve other guests at a different table.

"Oh, right, that... I can understand this much, like... Never mind not being a catgirl outside, these don't function back in Earth." She tapped her own knees, "So yeah, Arcia is definitely a place where I could start anew and live the life I've always wanted to live!" Chako smiled quite a bit as she said that.

However, her smile left her face as the next message arrived, "Which is why... I'm not gonna stick too close to anybody. This is the only place where I can feel like I am able to function by myself. Like I can be actually independent... I'm not giving up on that. Even if it's dangerous." Not just because of how terrifying wolves were... Which just thinking about sent shivers down her spine.

But also... Well, she did hear from Ruby about the thing of how dying here can lead to dying on Earth too... It was a crazy concept, but... Considering how much she was affected by her encounters with terrifying beings, she could believe it.

It was still not enough to make her give up on going around on her own though. Chako did not want to give up on that, no matter what.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the waitress suddenly arriving though, "Eh? H-hold on!" And she was gone... "B-but I can't pay for that..." She glanced at Lily's way, unsure of what to do, "D-do you... Think you can eat two, perchance?"

Chako's stomach rumbled. Damn it... The smell was addicting. Chako desperately wanted to dig in... She internally cursed the incredibly good nose she had here in Arcia.

... And the amazingly good taste buds that made everything feel way better than it was on Earth too... Chako really really wanted to dig in right now... I really need to find a way to get some money already... Chako grumbled to herself.

As the girl's eyes rested on Chako, the girl continued to listen to whatever the small feline had to say... but the more she listened, the more her own thoughts swirled around and her mood changed.

And so she started typing away once again...

I understand wanting to spend time here, especially if that is your situation.

But you should still be careful.

Besides, being independent and just being alone are two very different things. You can definitely be plenty independent and capable while also still accepting help from others.

No one person can do everything on their own.

And then the magnificent pancakes pancakes arrived. More than enough to sate their hunger. But while Lily started slicing and dicing, she noticed Chako not exactly doing the same, and not just because she quite literally asked if the other could eat the feline's portion as well.

That portion is for you, little dummy. On me. And I will be really, really disappointed if you try to not eat it because of that whole independent speech.

I'll bonk you for real if you don't eat it.

Chako felt a bit troubled about it, "It's not like I'm completely against getting help... Like, I don't think I'd be able to dance at all without the help I got from Ruby when I first got here, for one...

"Just... Well, I also want to be able to move around on my own and be by myself without making my mom worry herself sick about me or anything like it..." It's not like she didn't understand her mom's worries, but she still wanted to be able to do her things herself... And this was the only place where she could do so, "So I just don't wanna... I'm not going to actively push people away, but I'll definitely keep trying to do things by myself here in Arcia." Chako stated firmly. This was one thing she refused to budge on.

Then... Chako blinked a few times while reading Lily's next messages, "For me...?" She stared at the food and at the messages for a few more seconds, "Alright, then!" And promptly started digging in!

"Mmmmmm..." A blissful smile quickly arrived at her face after the first bite, "So yummy..." It was crazy how good things tasted in Arcia... Chako just couldn't ever have enough of eating here. She'd spend her whole time eating if she could. Just trying different things around and enjoying their tastes was more than enough for her.

... It was honestly a bit scary how addicting even food could be in Arcia, but that didn't matter. What mattered was that Chako was getting some freebies, and that was the one thing she absolutely had no reason to refuse! "Thank you very much!" She happily exclaimed before grabbing her next bite.

Well, as things would have it, convincing Chako to eat her share of the pancakes was considerably easier than Lily had expected, especially after the feline first asked if the water elf could eat both portions instead. Regardless, that was good. Some might have said that such a sweet thing was not a proper meal, but there was enough on the plate to fill a full person and then some. After all, the tavern was at the crossroads of the Starcalled's journey, so to speak.

With so many players coming to Honeyhome, many of the hungry after their first adventures, this place had gotten quite the reputation for being able to feed those with empty stomachs with just about anything.

You're welcome.

But also, you owe me your soul now for buying you lunch.

With a bit of a dry attempt at humour, she made sure to properly dig into her own meal as well. If Arcia had one advantage over the physical world, it was that magic and unique spices existed. Even the syrup covering the pancakes was different from one could find outside of this place. Together with freshly picked fruits and everything being home-made with great care of the cooks, the meals here were simply heavenly.

Chako continued happily munching on the pancakes, enjoying each and every bite of it. Eating in Arcia is true bliss, after all... She thought to herself as she kept on taking more bites.

Which further reinforced the reality she was currently in... She was utterly broke and could only rely on wild fruits and on freebies from other people if she wanted to eat... I really, really need a job! Though she also did think it was kinda funny that the reason why she wanted to start looking for a job in Arcia was to get food of all things... This feels like such a normal worry anyone would have on Earth when seeking independence!

And well, that's where her thoughts were going, until the next messages from Lily appeared.

Chako suddenly halted. Froze on the spot as her eyes went over the messages again and again, "W-w-w-w-w-wait! Hold on! There are spells that do that!? I-I-I can't! I can't simply give away my soul due to food! Mom is waiting for me back home and..." Chako's eyes were already getting tearful.
