Scythe Mastery ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Spirit Magic ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Aeromancy ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Corrupt

She rolled the fork in her fingers as Ruby spoke, trying to supress the grin that was quickly spreading across her face. Before she could bite her tongue, the words were out of her mouth - a tone of humour and jesting on them, the sarcastic nature coming naturally to her.

Well...if a ball of yarn is what you truly yearn for, I guess we could try and find one, but I was thinking more along the lines of something like...I don't know, a stick with a fuzzy mouse on the end of it, or perhaps some bubble wrap?

Lost to the joy of teasing, Kyra flashed a broad smile at Ruby, jumping feet first into the situation without any hesitation. Her tail, swaying behind her, was dangerously close to knocking over the light that stood in the corner behind them, not that Kyra had noticed yet. Instead, she grabbed her hot chocci cup, downing the drink before leaping to her feet and holding a hand out to Ruby.

Come on, I know of a few places we can go for a bit...plus there's something I want to pick up while we're out anyway...so long as you're alright with a slight detour. Shouldn't take long...and I think you'll like it, too.

She waited for Ruby to finish, before leading the catgirl back towards the front of the shop. A few moments later, a couple coins less and a pleasant conversion with the boy at the counter done, Kyra made her way out into the now drizzling exterior. She glanced over at Ruby, before offering her rain jacket to the other girl.

Here, I'm used to the rain...but you're going to get all frizzled if you're not covered up.

"You didn't just say this," Ruby said in playful disapproval at the joke, slapping her tails on Kyra's back as a retort before watching the girl standing up and offering a hand.

"It can take as long as it needs." She smiled, taking Kyra's hand, standing and interweaving their fingers in a firm hold.

As they stepped out, the frizzle made Ruby's ears twitch in contact with the cold raindrops, and Kyra's suggestion brought an eyebrow-raising. "Just because you are used to the rain, it doesn't make you catching it any less bad," Ruby said, letting go of the girl's hand and wrapping an arm around Kyra, tugging her closely, and smirking as she pulled the jacket with her free hand, tossing it above their heads.

"There is room for both of us, see?" She chuckled, urging Kyra to move with a gentle tug, as she wrapped their tails together.

She grabbed the other half of the jacket, pulling it tight so that it was above both of their heads. She couldn't help but smack Ruby back with her own tail, falling into the playfulness of the catgirl. She pulled the two of them forward, heading across the street towards a clothing shop that she had visited once. The sign above the door was simple, green letters on the white sign displaying the store's name; Threads of Marvel.

The shop itself was underwhelming as far as Kyra was concerned - she'd found a few minor pieces of interest, some gloves and a skirt, but had otherwise done most of her shopping at another store across town. Still, she figured it would be a good start on the tour she had planned out.

She pulled a piece off a nearby rack, holding it up against Ruby as she tried to stifle a giggle. The piece was far from what she could imagine the girl wearing, but figured that it would be entertaining to try and get her into it regardless.

Here...this looks perfect. Nice and...flowing...and...a perfect match for your...stuff and...you should totally try this one on. Totally. There's a change room around here somewhere, I think...

She glanced around, looking for the change room that she could've sworn was near the back of the store. She tugged Ruby behind her, dragging the cat girl along as she held the dress in the other hand.

The shop may have looked ordinary, but as one shouldn't judge a book for its cover, Ruby watched attentively the selection the plave had.

A particular outfit caught her attention, and her tails swayed as she leaned in.

"Oh, that looks like a high quality tailorwork." Ruby rubbed her chin, analyzing the dress with care and gently brushing the palm of her hand on it.

However, Kyra soon caught her attention, and as Ruby turned to face her, ears perked up as a dress was rested near her, and soon she was being dragged.

A chuckle escaped from her lips, and Ruby squeezed Kyra's hand. "Alright, I will try." She said, slowing down and picking up the dress close to her chest, sliding into the changing room and taking her time to dress.

She dropped her braids, making them rest on her collarbone and going all the way down to her chest, figuring it would look cuter that way. And with a few final adjustments, she poked her head out of the dressing room. "Ready?" She asked, before swiftly revealing herself.

Kyra grinned like an idiot as Ruby stepped out, revealing the herself with a swiftness that bespoke of a courage that Kyra could only wish to have. She nodded approvingly as Ruby stepped out of the changing room itself, her hands clasping just beneath her chin.

Yeah...that is definitely a perfect fit. Look at you. Absolutely gorgeous...honestly, I wish I could look like that.

She spun to find an attendant, raising herself up onto her toes and waving a hand in the air. The moment the woman behind the counter was looking at her, Kyra called out.

Yeah...uhm...hi! We're taking this one. Put it on my line, transfer will come through no issues!

She turned back to Ruby with a giant grin, an almost devilish look in her eyes. She barely stifled the giggle that was at the edge of her words as she spoke again, the playful expression twinkling in her eyes giving light to the fact that she had planned this ahead of time.

Now we're just going to have to find a reason for you to wear this beyond just trying it on...guess that means we'll need to go out at some point, right?

She cocked her head as she waited for the attendant to arrive to complete the final touches - a service that Kyra had learnt was provided after the last time she had purchased a dress here, herself. Behind her, her tail wagged with an excitement that matched the look in her eyes.

"... Thank you."

Ruby smiled sheepishly, having rosy cheeks at the compliments coming from Kyra. Her tail swayed, and she averted her face in an embarrassing gesture, noticing soon that Kyra had turned around to try to catch the shopkeeper's attention.

As she did, Ruby quickly reached for a dress herself, one that hopefully would match Kyra's usual color palette, albeit being far more revealing, one that she already had in her mind as soon as she spotted it in the shop.

"No need to be at some point." Ruby said, looking at Kyra and offering a smile. "It can be right now. Here, I got a dress for you to try so we can do it." She suggested, gesturing the dress a bit closer to the girl, and grinning just as devilishly back.

Her gaze went down to Kyra's tail, noticing the excitement and wondering if it would last after this retort.

Bluff. It has to be a bluff. Alright, let's...let's do what you do with bluffs. Cattle them. Her eyes had gone wide, while her face had gone red at the sight of the dress. She'd seen the piece earlier, and had skipped over it entirely, forgetting about it until just now - but as Ruby held it up for her, Kyra was frozen in place by a sudden reservation, conflicted with the determination to not let Ruby win.

Uhm...uh...sure! Uh...let me just go and...try that on...although I don't know if...if it's going to look...like yours does...

She quickly grabbed the piece, dashing around and past Ruby and into the change room before slamming the door shut behind her. She held the piece out at arm's length as she considered her options. Right...options...give in and let Ruby never let you hear the end of this...or put it on...and...look like an idiot. Real options. Great options. Fuck. Me.

She growled to herself, before beginning the slow, stumbling process of changing, piling her own clothes off to the side before staring at the dress for a moment. Baffled, she struggled into the piece, slowly finding her way into the garment, before staring at the mirror in the change room. Okay...I mean it's not my usual...anything. But I mean...yeah, no it looks bad. Oh gods...

Struggling, her face beat red, she slowly pulled the door open, before stepping out into the storefront for Ruby to see. Her eyes remained on the ground as she clasped her hands in front of her, struggling to keep her breathing controlled. At her side, her tail curled around her in a comforting manner.

When Kyra took the dress and darted off, Ruby allowed herself to look a bit redder, holding the edge of the dress the purple fox took for her and doing a single spin to test its mobility. A warm smile crossed Ruby's lips. "It feels nice..." Ruby muttered. And she did choose it for me, so...

Her thoughts were eventually interrupted, with the other girl appearing from the dressing room, and her gaze turning to take a careful glance at her.

A smile crossed her lips, and she was quick to move close. "So beautiful..." Ruby said, her eyes trailing on Kyra, swaying next to her and gently brushing her tails on Kyra's legs. "... You, I mean. But the dress is also pretty." Ruby whispered as she passed behind Kyra, only for the fox girl to listen before leaning away and hooking her arm on Kyra's.

"It fits perfectly to you, so I think we can already debut it? After passing by the counter, that is." She suggested.

The growl that escaped her throat was playful, an almost unconscious response the teasing that she had walked straight into. She should've known better, but couldn't argue - Ruby had gone along with the entire event without any complaining, and it wasn't like Kyra could back out now.

Alright...fine. This time. Next time though...I'm going to get you back for this. So you better sleep with one eye open. And watch your back.

When she turned away, she grinned widely, trying to hide the excitement within her frame, but her tail wagged incessantly behind her, giving away her true feelings.

A few moments later, the dresses paid for and their time within the shop completed, Kyra led the way out into the night - a bag carrying her old clothes hanging from her arm. She sighed as she stepped out into the cooler air, immediately regretting that she'd been talked into such a revealing dress - and somehow not thought to buy a sweater, or jacket that fit overtop of it.

Okay...there's only one more place that I wanted to go, but we've got about an hour or two before they're...ready, so was there anywhere specific you wanted to visit?

She hovered around Ruby, eyeing the girl up and down as she considered her next action. She wasn't entirely sure how the girl would react, and that made her pause - concerned that she'd cause some sort of upset, or negative response.

Ruby huffed a laugh at Kyra's growl and the threat of retaliation. The red-haired cat leaned in, nearly gluing her cheek on Kyra's before purring and looking at her with a devilish expression. "I am looking forward to it." She said, swaying her tail and tugging Kyra's with her own softly to try to stop its wagging.

"One more place huh? Such a busy day." Ruby mentioned side-glancing at Kyra and twitching her ears. "I have nowhere, in particular, I'd want to go. I'm mostly enjoying our time." She said, swaying her tail and looking around, pondering about it.

"But if you want, we can go to the highest spot of Finweald. It is very pretty, I'd say at least." Ruby said with a smile, swaying her tail and tilting her head slightly, wondering if the girl preferred to wait or to go there to kill time.

Her threat was as meaningless as she'd expected it to be; Ruby had dealt with far more than Kyra could likely try and bring forward. Still, she smiled in response to the girl's devilish daring, coaxing Kyra onwards. That's it, you're in for it now...

Highest point? Huh...I guess, so long as it doesn't take too long to get there. Still have places to be and all that, you know.

She gave a wink and a smile, before stepping behind Ruby slightly. She glanced around them, making sure they were alone, for the moment. As soon as she was certain, she leaned in closer to Ruby, a playful expression on her face. She waited for the girl to turn towards her before speaking, a purr on the edge of her words.

Hey Ruby...there's something I've been wanting to do since you arrived tonight...and I don't think I can resist it much longer, so...just stay still, and close your eyes...

As soon as she'd leaned in close enough and her words came to an end, Kyra reached her arms around Ruby grasping the girl's tail and giving it a soft tug. Almost immediately she reached up with her left hand and gave Ruby's left ear a soft tug, before planting her lips on Ruby's cheek.

Pushing herself away almost as quickly as she'd yanked on the girl, Kyra giggled, bounding beyond the reach of Ruby for the moment as she revelled in her small prank.

"For me it take about a minute in a safe speed. So it is a matter if you will want a ride or if you will want to climb on foot." Ruby said, twitching her ears and slowing down her pace as it seemed that Kyra had slowed down and lagged behind.

The crimson-haired girl looked at the purple-haired, tilting her head slightly, not flinching even when Kyra approached out of the blue.

"Huh..?" Ruby blinked puzzled, closing her eyes. "Like this..?" She muttered a question, but soon her eyes grew wide open. "Eep-!" She squeaked, with her cheeks growing red when her tail and ear were pulled, and the kiss on her cheek being the cherry on the top, making Ruby flail and try to catch Kyra before she jumped away.

As soon as she recovered, Ruby's tail swayed and she squinted at the other girl.

"Kyra..!" Ruby hissed playfully, with her ears and tails perking up before she darted off toward Kyra, to try and reach her.

She ducked backwards a few steps as Ruby came rushing towards her, giggling slightly as she went. She didn't run far, taking only a few retreating steps before allowing herself to be caught. Laughing in an almost uncontrollable way, she managed to slowly spit out the words she wanted to say.

Oh...oh no...you...you caught me...me Ruby...now whatever...are you go...going to do to me...

Her tail wagged behind her fast enough to push away some of the nearby dirt piles, her excitement at the entire situation obvious in her face and body. Grinning like an idiot, she held her hands up, as if surrendering.

I give up! Just...just don't torment me too much...I promise I'll be good! Swear!

She cocked her head slightly to the left, glancing at a nearby passerby. Realising suddenly that they were still out in public, Kyra lowered her hands, deciding to behave a little bit.

You...mentioned something about a high up place, away from prying eyes, didn't you? Maybe we should...you know, head there?

She doubted that they were really causing much of a fuss - people must be used to this sort of thing, right? - but she figured not being in the middle of the street would probably be a good idea too.

With the other girl pretty much allowing herself to get caught, Ruby grabbed her by the wrists and stared at her with a squint. "What I will do to you?" She hissed again, with her tails and ears all perked up in a stiff stance.

Her eyes trailed to look the tail behind Kyra, making Ruby tilt her head and side glance the fox girl. She was sure enjoying it, huh.

"If you were going to be good, we wouldn't be having this situation in first place." She released her wrists, squeezing both of her cheeks instead, in a protesting move.

Her ears then twitched, especially at the way Kyra worded Ruby's reveal from a few minutes ago.

It made her pause, considering for a moment before nodding. "Yeah. We can go there." Ruby said, swaying her tail and tugging Kyra slightly, urging her to move along and starting to climb up the stairs.

"What was what you are waiting for, by the way?" She asked.

She'd gotten off easy, all things considered. She'd seen the way Ruby had been eyeing her tail, as if she was planning on retribution. Thankfully, the girl had taken another tactic, before deciding to move on. Without any complaints, Kyra had hurried after the catgirl, considering instigating again, but deciding to leave it be for the time.

Oh...uhm...it's a custom order, actually. I finally decided to upgrade myself a bit, so to speak. I'm moving on from the previous weapon I had, that small scythe? Yeah, moving on from that, and going with something a bit more...well, on par with the imagery I'm playing into, so to speak.

She flashed a grin at Ruby, before holding up her two index fingers. She knew there'd be more questions about it, but she wanted some of it to remain as a surprise.

You'll get to see it soon enough...the shop had said it should be ready within the next hour or so...assuming they're not running into any sort of delays, or anything.

She'd been kicked out of the shop earlier in the week, after arriving numerous times over to check on the progress. Thankfully, the smith had understood her excitement - but that hadn't stopped her intrusions from being problematic, and Kyra couldn't help but feel slightly embarrassed.

They were uh...fairly specific with the time, last time I went in to check on the status...in fact I think they said "stay away until"...

"An upgrade is always welcomed." Ruby said with a nod, glancing down at her blade for a moment. That Jian was already four years old, nearing five. But she had no intentions of changing it any time soon. "I am eager to see it. You did great things with your old scythe. A new, better one, will give you a great flexibility."

The mention of them telling her to stay away made an eyebrow raise high, in both curiosity and confusion. "This craft must be really dangerous or sensible, for them to tell you to stay away..." She muttered, wondering what that was about.

The top slowly approached, and eventually they finally neared a small 'park' that laid on an flat spot of the hills Finweald was made- most likely done in an artificial way.

From there, it was possible to see the buildings descending and spreading by the base of the hill, brimming with the lights that outlined the buildings in the nightlife along with the stars that spread high above.

If it was daylight, one would even be able to see the dragonship, tiny in the horizon.

"How about there?" Ruby gestured toward a bench by a tree, one people would usually choose to hide from the sun, but now empty thanks to the night.

Kyra couldn't help herself, laughing as Ruby took the directive to stay away as a sign of something dangerous. She had to stop her walking for a moment, holding onto her sides as she fought against the fit. When she had managed to calm herself slightly - enough that she was able to stand straight, while holding on to the wall - she corrected the catgirl.

Ha...uhm....no, no...not really that...I mean...about as dangerous as...normal smithing...I'd guess...more just that they were, well...annoyed with me being around all the time.

She breathed deeply, fighting away the last few giggles with an exaggerated motion, before continuing to speak. She had no illusions about the fact that she had been sent away, not because of danger of the craft itself, but because the blacksmith was likely ready to turn Kyra into a portion of the scythe as well.

It's fine though...they were really nice about chasing me off, and making it very clear when I was to return - they even went so far as to say 'not a second before', really laid it all out for me!

She grinned, hoping that Ruby would pick up the humour behind it. She wasn't necessarily mad at the smith by any means - he needed to be able to work in peace, and Kyra had been making that impossible. Still, she would've liked the chance to watch the process, at least a little bit.

Ruby rose an eyebrow, in both curiosity and for comical effect, "Is your presence really that annoying? Good thing I am not a smith." She said with a small smile, moving closer to the bench and finally taking a seat on it, giving a space for Kyra to join in.

"You really got on their nerves then." She chuckled at the way Kyra worded everything, with her ears twitching. "Hmmm, but maybe I understand how they feel." Ruby teased looking at Kyra with a small smirk, then turning to face away while swaying her tail back and forth.

"Though in different ways." She slipped, leaning on the back of the bench and stretching her legs and tails, hoping to get a nice 'pop' before straightening her posture once again.

Kyra has always been a passionate type in Ruby's eyes, so she didn't doubt a single word from the purple haired girl.

Kyra shrugged, a slightly embarrassed smile on her face. She had been a bit annoying about the whole thing, but she had just been excited. Thankfully, she felt like the smith had understood that - although they had still put their foot down and booted her from the area.

Yeah well...passion and all that. But anyways, it should be done soon, and then we can go collect it and...well, I'm hoping it fits the aesthetic, just a little bit!

She wiggled on the spot, her tail swaying as she tried to contain herself. Her eyes crossed over the view before them, smiling slightly. It was nice up here. Plus amazing company...spoiled.

She glanced over at Ruby, her head tilted slightly to the left and a thoughtful expression on her face. She hummed for a second, before speaking aloud.

What is it that you spend most of your time doing in game? Usually when I call you...or, well, write you I guess...you're out on some adventure or another and need to zoom across the world.

She decided to take a chance, laying her head on Ruby's shoulder and closing her eyes, relaxing in the calmness of the moment and the comfort of her friend. Her ears twitched, as she continued to listen - careful not to fall asleep, even as comfortable as it might be.

"I'm sure it will fit, your aesthetic is very highlighted, so it is just a matter of the smith having some tact... Which I think they do, considering they booted you." Ruby reassured with a nod and a chuckle, having a mental image of Kyra being kicked out of the smithing workshop.

Kyra's question then caught Ruby's attention, perking up her ears and making her actually halt in reflection.

What did Ruby truly do in this game? She usually didn't ask it herself, she only followed along with the flow and continued her exploration and discovery through the wide Terrasphere world.

The pondering left by the question was vaguely interrupted when Kyra's head touched Ruby's shoulder, making her look at the purple-haired fox and smile, gently wrapping an arm around her to keep her close and brush a hand on her hair and ears. "Making yourself comfortable?" She hummed, taking a deep breath and finally answering:

"Travelling. Learning more about the world and trying to visit every inch of it. Basically what I wish I could do outside of here, but I have no time or conditions to do so-" She said, looking at Kyra. "- It was pretty much what made me wish to remain around this place, at least until I started meeting wonderful people that kept me locked in here." Ruby chuckled, slipping a sigh and wondering--

"How about you?"
