As soon as he heard something about a fight night, Bradwynne volunteered himself to spar with anyone. He did it so as to increase the morale of everyone in the area, to remind them that they had someone really strong to depend upon. Whether it was he himself or some other person. As he volunteered, he then saw yet another person who volunteered himself to spar with anyone. As he then glanced at the person who, while shorter than him, looked more muscular, Bradwynne then decided to challenge this person for a spar, as he looked like he could handle himself in a battle. And the person also seemed to have the same idea as him as he agreed.

He then went face-to-face with that person, who was named @Creature. Seems to be quite an apt name for this person who had a good build and heft in him.

"Creature? A formidable name, especially when compared to Bradwynne. Yes, that is my name."

He then held his ootachi in a reverse grip, so that only the blunt side would hit his sparring partner.

"But sadly, while it is indeed a formidable name, that's also the type of name who will end up eating that mushroom!"

As the signal then started, he then swung his ootachi as it glowed white due to his Divine Magic.

"We will see."

Raising his palm, soul energy coalesced in front of his form to create a shield. One that was effortlessly shattered by his opponent's strike. He was sent reeling by the blow, air knocked from his lungs as he landed hard on his back.

"Ugh…"

Rolling over on his side he coughed and was beginning to regret this decision. Sometimes he hated how realistic the pain sensors were in this game. But there was no time to wallow in the dirt. @Bradwynne would soon be upon him again. With what time he had, Creature managed to get up to one knee and formed his right hand in the shape of a finger gun. From the tip an energy bullet would be sent hurtling toward the rival swordsman.

As he saw that he nailed his initial assault on @Creature, he was about to follow up with yet another attack, but then he saw his opponent crouching and pointing a finger gun at him. That move seemed really familiar, he definitely knew he had seen that move on TV. Or in some DVD. When the tip of his opponent's finger glowed with spirit magic, it then finally clicked on him. But he should defend himself from it first. But of course in an anime-style.

He then quickly imbued his right fist with Divine Magic, and then, when the finger gun finally fired, a flash came from that arm as it moved, deflecting the shot harmlessly into the air. When his opponent would see his right arm, he would see some sort of a sword of light.

"I see that you are also an avid fan huh? Then how about this?"

Bradwynne then charged again, but instead of the ootachi, he swung that sword of light towards Creature. This was also non-lethal though, if this would hit, it will just hurt like a kendo stick.

Part of him was happy that the reference wasn't lost. The other part was not so happy to see the swordsman sway the attack away as if it were more of a minor inconvenience than an actual threat. A wry smile crept across his lips.

"That's really cool, but shiiii-"

No effect… The man was much stronger than Creature had originally anticipated. Deflecting a shot like that was too easy for the amount of magic he wielded. Before he knew it @Bradwynne would charge with his holy sword, and with little time to react, land a clean blow on his shoulder.

Still kneeling, he had managed to maintain balance and thankfully the distance was much closer now. Pointing up, he'd aim for his opponent's gut and fire off another energy bullet.

As he then saw his impromptu light sword attack connected yet again, Bradwynne became elated, seeing that he would only need a hit to finish this. He then was about to raise the sword for a final attack, but then he felt his stomach was rocked with a very solid blow. As his eyes moved down, he then saw a bullet from his opponent's spirit gun cleanly connecting towards his stomach upwards, launching his body upward leaning on that blow on his stomach as he coughed out some air that was released from his lungs.

As he then gasped for air yet again, his right arm which was then holding the light sword that by then was raised then swung down, as he hoped to finish this once and for all. Sure this was quite sloppy as his legs were still up in the air and he could not brace for any attack or defense effectively, so he had to rely on his arms and divine magic to deal an effective blow.

Though he was happy to have landed a hit on @Bradwynne there was little time to actually celebrate before the man launched a final attack. Before he could raise his own weapon Creature found himself on the receiving end of another beating from the sword of light. The match was over and those who happened to be watching erupted in a unanimous cheer as the winner had been decided. Raising to his feet, Creature would offer a bow while rubbing one of the new bruises that had formed.

"What a fight! Let's spar again sometime, yeah? I'll be sure to give you more of a challenge then."

It was clear there was still much he had to work on. But overall he felt better for having participated. Now he just hoped myconid didn't taste too terrible.

As Bradwynne's sloppy blow seemed to connect, he then descended to the ground, still quite clueless as to what had happened. But still a victory was a victory, and when the announcer had announced the winner, Bradwynne like the typical showman he was raised his right fist to show his appreciation to their audience in this battle. After acknowledging the crowd, he then turned to @Creature, and then said, "You too. I hope to spar again with you someday. Who knows, you might become the victor in the next one. But I will also train vigorously of course. We know that getting a victory when our opponents were taking it easy would be unsavory to both of us. But speaking of unsavory..."

Bradwynne then looked at the arm of the giant myconid, which was being prepared. "I know that mushrooms might substitute for meat in some cases, but I really wanted to know what the meat of a giant living mushroom would taste like. Would it be filled with a lot of savory goodness, since it is mushrooms and meat combined in a single package? And if ever, will there be a way to make that thing as soft as button mushrooms?"
