It was a really fine day within Eastern Brisshal as Bradwynne then took on the field again. He took it as his job to guide new players within the world of Terrasphere, and to also inform them about its dangers. There were really too many players logging in here day and night, and it was really very tiring that he wondered how Trinity would have managed to do this. But then again he, unlike Trinity, was a mere mortal and was always on the verge of death in this world, a death where he could no longer respawn. His three-time trial had already expired, and he will die permanently if he would kick the bucket if no one would revive him, and so he would need to get stronger.

And so, Bradwynne decided on something. He then summoned what he would call his "daily companion", the manifestation of his true skills. Aside from the glowing aura, angel wings, halo, and different clothes, the "companion" looked like a complete copy of himself. If this was in the universe of a manga that he had read a lot, he would call it as his sta-[redacted due to copyright]. And if one was also a fan of this manga, there was only one thing that he as a genuine fan could have done with this power.

Tucking its wings behind its back, the "companion" then moved towards a dead tree, and then, using Divine Magic, then chopped it horizontally. It then hurled the resulting log towards Bradwynne who, as the log hurtled towards him, tried to stop its momentum by punching it nonstop, yelling "Ora!" whenever he throws a punch. The "companion" then flew behind the log, trying to push it towards Bradwynne by elbowing it vigorously, yelling "Muda!" whenever it throws an elbow. Their exchange continued on for a while, not knowing there might be someone who was watching them.

The world of Terrasphere was something Harper was still in the process of getting used to. She wasn't much of a gamer before finding out about this game due to a lack of free time, and though she had read some books with fantasy worlds on them, actually living and breathing in one felt incredibly surreal still. At one time she could be faced with something fairly normal and unassuming, only to be blindsided by a fantastical twist that reminded her that, as real as Terrasphere felt, it still was a virtual world.

Today, the tiger beastfolk found herself wandering around the forests of East Brisshal, looking for anything she could justify putting her claws on to fight and train. While she arrived with some built-in combat skills from her training outside of the game, that wouldn't be enough due to the existence of masteries. And the only way to increase those arbitrary numbers was to go out and well... Beat things up. This also helped her get used to the idea of just killing things in general. She knew they weren't real, just elaborate series of numbers and digits running on a program, but it still felt a bit too real for her to just brush the matter away.

Still, she was making some progress on that front, having just gone through a wolf who had attacked her. Though, she hadn't come out of it unscathed. Hearing it whimper under her as Harper was about to finish it off threw her off, letting it get one last bite on her forearm before she killed it. Due to her current pain settings, she didn't feel much other than a dull feeling in the bruised area, but she still figured it was for the best to get it fixed before continuing to train.

Wrapping it up with a bandage, for now, she would start to make her way back to the nearest town, before hearing some loud commotion nearby. Was it another animal? It didn't seem like it, especially since she thought she heard a human voice. Was it bandits? If it was, Harper figured she'd at least try to track them to their camp or den before returning from the village with a fixed forearm and a fresh can of whoop-ass.

Instead, what she found was... Out there, to put it simply. A blonde boy was seemingly playing reverse, upside-down tug-of-war using a tree trunk... Against a clone of himself. By punching it. And both were seemingly screaming some sort of weird battle cry to each other. The scene was so absurd that even knowing that this was a fantasy game, Harper couldn't help but blurt out.

"The heck is going on here?! Do you need help?!"

She would ask, rushing towards the pair. For all she could understand, Brad might be in combat with some evil doppelganger of sorts. And while she didn't understand the situation that well, she could tell that he was fighting back against being seemingly crushed by a log. She'd rather apologize later for interrupting some weird ritual or training exercise than watching someone go squish-squish in inaction.

As Bradwynne continued his merciless training session with his "companion", he felt a huge exhilaration on his mind. If this was real life, he could never do this, but because it was based on a game, and the amount of exploits that could be done here was basically limitless, Did he regret that he was trapped in this game, leaving his family back there grieving? Of course. If he had a time machine, he would tell his former self to not play this game, or at least be more cautious about it. But should he treat this game as just a prison? Of course not. At the very least this was his remaining life, so he should enjoy it to the fullest. And man, even if technology was backwards here, he still have many things in this world that could interest him. And reaching the level of technology that he had in the modern world was not even a fantasy now, since they have the scraps of the robots from that airship to experiment on.

As he was too focused and exhilarated about the many prospects of this gamified world, he did not even hear the shouts of a nearby beastfolk that was rushing towards him. He still continued on punching that log that would crush him if he stopped at some point in time, that was aided by the "companion" elbowing it towards him. But that "companion" seemed hell-bent on... "I WILL CRUSH YOU FLAT!" as it then punched the log with all of its strength towards Bradwynne. Bradwynne was about to counter with a massive punch of his own, shouting "ORA!" with all of his might, but he then noticed that the log, erstwhile resisting their attacks, suddenly started cracking under that "companion's" punch. He then thought to stop his punch, but he knew that if he would stop, everything would fall on his face, and so he continued the punch. The massive clash of fists on the log then caused it to fracture at the middle, sending the two halves and some splinters laterally, away from the fists. As Bradwynne watched a flying half of that log, he then saw it moving towards a tiger beastwoman (@Harper), and so, with some swift motions, Bradwynne got up, ran after the log, and when he had caught up with it, then jumped, and then unleashed a ferocious ax kick on the log, pinning it down under the heel of his boot. After he checked if the log would move again from its position, and the answer was a negative, he then faced the beastwoman. "Are you all right? Sorry for that trouble."

As she rushed in, the clash would seemingly reach its end, though not a conclusive one. The log that was between their barrages finally hit its limit, bursting in half. Harper would be impressed that a seemingly normal guy was able to do such a feat of strength. Dead or not, that still was a whole log of wood broken in half by him and his... Partner? Enemy? Doppelganger? Lover?

So many questions, yet they would have to wait. After all, she had a bigger issue at the current moment. A big, woody, chunky issue coming at her at a very concerning speed. If that thing hit her, it would certainly do a bit more than just leave a mark. Her first instinct was to just roll forwards and under it, though the timing would be a bit tight, and god forbid her tail got in the way.

Fortunately, she was aware enough to notice that Brad was already en route and stopped herself. Otherwise, he might've ax kicked the log right on top of her. She would stumble back a bit, looking up to him as he asked if she was fine. Nodding, she would pat any dust from herself before answering.

"Ah, I'm fine, thanks. Put the fear of God on me for a second there but that has been par for the course thus far in this game." She would say, sighing as she let one of her hands rest on her hip. "Even when you know death isn't permanent, going against things that very much want to hurt and kill you is still quite nerve-wracking. Gets your blood running and all that."

She would smirk, shrugging her shoulders. "O-Oh, right." The beastkin would look over Brad's shoulder, motioning with her golden eyes towards his "buddy".

"Is your look-a-like gonna go after you still? 'Cause I'm down to repay the favor of not letting me get crushed." She would say, a confident smile on her face as she entered a battle stance. The default leather armor denoted her status as a newcomer, yet there she was, raring to go against someone or something who might be much stronger than her.

Maybe it was overwhelming confidence in her capabilities. Maybe it was a complete lack of understanding about the consequences of dying. It was probably both.

Bradwynne heaved a sigh of relief as the tiger beastwoman (@Harper) mentioned that she was all right, but he could not help but be worried when she mentioned about it being a "game", that death here was not permanent. Although one could argue that death was indeed not permanent in this world, with all the revives and stuff, there were limits to all those. Revivification was not even guaranteed in some cases, but of course it had been always a staple, since, beyond a certain point in this world, revivification was the only way to keep people from dying young in certain missions. His countenance then turned from tired but still jolly to being pensive all of a sudden. Should he break the news to her, or should he stay silent?

As the beastwoman then asked if she can fight off the "companion" that seemed to be assaulting him, it then flew towards his back as it always did, just floating there with its wings, its feet not touching the ground. As Bradwynne still had a gloomy face as he was pondering about the situation, those two together gave off an imposing aura, not a magical one but a psychological one, as if telling the others around him not to mess with him. It was intensified the more when he said these words: "It is actually my companion, my Stand if you will. I had given it the name:「Creed」." He then continued on, as he had already decided to tell her the truth. "If you want to continue after what I will say, I will not stop you. However know this: if you die three times in this world, you will die in real life. If you die here after that, you will permanently die without someone nearby who will revive you. That is why you have seen me undergo a harsh training with my companion: to prepare myself for every hardship, to survive every time."

"...I'm going to assume you aren't pulling on my tail there. Huh."

The sudden new information about the reality of Terrasphere blindsided her. She figured that there had to be a reason other than just the hyper-realism for the government to be so against it, but her bet was maybe on trauma from the experience or something on that line of thought. Not... Actual death. It put some of the more close calls she had since arriving in check. Nothing too close to the brink of death, but it certainly gave her the shivers for a second.

"So... Three strikes and you are out then? Gosh, that explains a lot about the government's attitude towards this game. So, uh. I'm not one to assume but from the way you spoke just now about surviving and all that, I gotta ask... Are you, you know, dead?"

Real smooth, Harper.
It couldn't be helped though, as it was clear in her expression that all of this still felt hardly real to her. "If yes, do you still need to eat and sleep and all that stuff? Do most people that play this game know what you just told me? Are there a lot of people like you left?" She would bombard him with questions, before calming herself with a sigh, her feline ears flopping down as she put a hand on her hip.

"Sorry. It's just that this is a lot to take in all at once. A killer game, virtual ghosts... Sounds like I'm inside a TV Show... No offense. After all, this must very much be the only reality to those trapped here."

When the beastwoman (@Harper) mentioned if he was what she assumed: dead back in that world, he could only nod his head slowly. Continuing on, he then sat down on the log that he had pinned to the ground, while the "companion" just crossed its legs as it still floated on his back. He then continued on, "Although all of my deaths were from the wars and subjugation that might have threatened the players' lives back in the real world, and I am proud that I have made a mark and might have saved numerous lives in all of those, I always regretted that I did not utilize those lives really carefully. If I had known about this far earlier, then I might have thought twice forging bonds within this world, as I can be really passionate about who I like and who I love." He then sighed, and then issued a bitter smile. "But I had made a lot of friends here in this world, some of them still living, some of them were dead in the real world and some unfortunately passed in this world as well, and this game had made me much more alive than in the real world, where I am quite bullied. Although I still miss my dad, my mom, and all my siblings. I really wonder if they had made solace with my passing there. If I am in their shoes I might become really furious, though."

He then laid down with his back on the ground, his hands cradling his head, as he stared towards the sky, as his "companion" then moved out of the way and then floated itself near his head. "Sometimes it gets really boring here, as there was no TV, computers, or smartphones in this world. I can only compensate with daily exercises and the occasional conversations with other players and bandit-hunting as my job within the Lion Arms. By the way, there are other people like me in this world, and as you have heard already, some were already dead even in here as well. I think Boss Levi back in the Lion Arms had a list of those who were like me that was disseminated to some people. You know, since he was like me also. If you want to know about my case, hopefully there were newspapers or TV segments around there in the real world that mentions about a 14-year old male in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that had mysteriously died 4 years ago. Or maybe even those had been scrubbed from the records by the VRSA."

He then moved his legs, and as he then vaulted from the ground, he then landed upright on the ground. "And so, I took it as my job to inform everyone about this phenomenon right now, as I did five years ago when I reported about the first instance to the King of Astorea. Also what happened to me and all others was what prompted the VRSA to ban any mention of this game in the whole world, and so, with all of the new players like you might not know why, then I have to inform you about it. As for me, I will just continue living, eating, and drinking within this world, since this is the only world I have now. And if there are any entities who will try to disrupt the peaceful lives of all the denizens of this world, may it be our fellow players or natives of this world, then I will destroy the threats mercilessly and keep everyone alive while doing that."

The beastkin would patiently listen to Brad's answers, her tail swaying back and forth as she collected her thoughts about all of the things the blonde survivor was telling her. On how he threw his life away for others, his longing for home, the state of things in this world, and how he spent his days now that was locked in here, among many other facets of this world.

But what truly stuck with her was just how young he was. 14 years is no age to die, especially when it could've been avoided. So much to experience, to learn... Just forever out of his reach. The only solace is in having a "spare" life in the same world that initially took his original one, in an ironic and somewhat twisted play of fate.

"Damn... You sure had it rough. My condolences." She would close her eyes for a moment, before replacing him by laying down on the grassy soil he once found himself on, crossing her arms as she contemplated on what to say. "And yeah, might as well make the best out of what you have. When life gives you its sourest lemons, you can either cry about it or do your best to make something out of them. Pops always said that to me." She would fall silent for a moment, before continuing as her gaze now directed itself towards the azure expanse above her.

"I don't get the VRSA's response to this. People are still coming to this world, it's just that they do so while being utterly clueless about its nature." She would sigh, before looking back at Brad and Creed.

"Say, think with me for a moment. If everyone who decided to join in knew about the dangers, would Terrasphere be any different from other dangerous hobbies like wingsuiting or skydiving? You put your life at risk for a once-in-a-lifetime, incomparable experience. In a way, this world would even be more merciful, as you have more than one opportunity if things go wrong. I'd say it would reduce the chances of getting people trapped here by ignorance, at the very least. What do you think... Uh..."

The tiger girl would think visibly hard, before sighing as she seemed to give up on recalling something. "Sorry. Afraid you gave your buddy's name before your own. In any case, the name's Harper. May I have yours?" She would ask, a smile on her face as she started to put the heavy topics of the previous conversation behind her. After all, no use in dwelling on the past of others if Brad himself didn't seem stuck on it.

As the beastwoman, who introduced himself as @Harper, struggled if she remembered her name, Bradwynne could only cringe within himself as to why he had not given his name when he had introduced his "companion's" name. As she then asked his name as she would not remember anything that she had never heard in the first place, he then replied, "My name is Bradwynne. In this world, I am known as Bradwynne Lambert, but you may call me Brad for short. I am sorry for not introducing myself to you earlier."

As he then dwelt on the reasons as to why the VRSA had considered banning any mention of Terrasphere, he said, although in a somewhat muffled voice, as he was still thinking about it: "If I am to answer why VRSA did that, might be a common knee-jerk reaction. More akin to a government's first reaction when they see an alien with a far more advanced technology." He then changed his tone into a more flippant manner. "They always panic when something comes that they cannot control. But since Trinity might have been doing her job as she had always been doing four years ago, any VRSA ban on even mentioning it will never be enough. People will flood here whether they like it or not, and curious as to why this was banned at all."

As he then saw Harper lying down on the soil, he then sat down for her to hear him. "Yeah, this world offers a lot of thrills. I mean, fighting off nasty creatures and saving a city from bandits is always better as a thrill than skydiving and the like, and one can even do those things here, without immediately worrying that they will die here..." As he then realized something, he then stopped and sighed for a while. "I am really sorry. Sometimes thinking of those things made me realize that I might have been cheapening my own situation. Yeah, this world offers a lot of thrill, but once one is already hooked, they would never realize anything... until it is too late. That happened to far too many people already, me included. And so, as much as I can manage, I will never let others do the same mistakes as I did. And I will never let anyone die without their volition. If anyone will stand against my intentions, I will mow them down. And that's why I am training myself, each and every day, for my instincts to sharpen and my mind to become focused on every goal."

Harper would nod silently, making mental notes of all the things that Brad mentioned and said, even if some didn't make much sense to her like the mention about some Trinity and her job. She would note his response to her comparison and the fact that he kept repeating that creed of his: To protect those in this world and crush the ones that would endanger it.

It isn't like she thought it was wrong or anything, but the fact that he kept repeating it made it seems like it bordered on obsession for Brad. And she could relate to him, given her competitive streak and the lengths it has pushed her in the past, both physically and mentally. Yes, her goals were not nearly as noble in comparison, but she still felt compelled to help him out. Maybe it was because she couldn't help but see a bit of herself in his pursuit of self-improvement.

"Hmm, that's true. Terrasphere is an escapist's dream, after all. Knowing that it can be lethal beforehand wouldn't dissuade most, nor would lessen the grief of their relatives once they are lost. It is a problem with no easy solution, huh..." She would sigh, closing her eyes again as she rubbed her chin, letting herself fall in thought for a moment.

"There is one thing I know for certain, though..." A smirk would crack open in her face as she threw both legs behind her, showing off some flexibility as she then threw them back forwards, using the momentum to get back up on her two feet. Stretching for a bit, she would then continue. "We aren't achieving much just talking about has-beens, will-be's, and maybe's, are we? You and I both need to get stronger to achieve our goals, so..."

She would put a hand on her hip as she extended the other towards the blonde. "What about I help you out with training? I still need to repay you for saving me, and I did interrupt your training in the first place. So I think this works for both of us. Be it sparring or something else you got in mind, I'm down for it. Though..." Her smirk would expand into a canine-showing smile, her golden feline eyes staring down Brad's own.

"I must warn you. I only play to win. The difference in experience between us may end up being too much, but don't think for a moment I'm not going to give my all out of respect for a veteran or some other disservice to us both like that. Else I might just end up running you to the ground, heh." The threat was playful at best, but the determination and confidence the tigress possessed were dripping out of every word she said, her striped tail swishing back and forth behind her as Harper readied herself.

As Bradwynne listened intently on @Harper's words, he became fired up in an instant. It should be one of the rare times that he would have a sparring partner instead of chugging along with his "companion". He then assumed a neutral stance that was the basic one for many an MMA fighter, with his "companion" also assuming a fighting stance, but a more stylistic one as could be gleaned from martial arts movies. He then said, "Yeah, it's useless to be hung up on the past mistakes, we could instead take the lessons from the past to improve on our current selves so that we can face the future with readiness." He then sized up his opponent in order to know her tendencies in attacking. He then said, "You seem really confident in your skills huh. All right, I will take up your challenge. Although, do not blame me if it hurts a lot! After all, your resolve to defeat me will always be..." The "companion" then seemingly vanished from behind Bradwynne's back. But if his opponent would just search for that "companion", it would be too late to watch Bradwynne again as he would deliver a swift punch towards her chin, while the "companion" would reappear behind her and also deliver a swift punch towards her nape at the same time.

"MUDA!!!"

"The heck does "Muda" even mean-!"

Harper would manage to speak out before being suddenly struck by Brad. Given that she had her eyes on him the whole time, she would manage to move her head out of the way. However, her perceived success would be cut short when she'd notice that Brad's partner had sneaked behind her, and while the same movement she used to dodge Brad would get her nape out of harm's way, Creed's attack would still find its way to her back.

"Ugh! Sneaky bastard!" She'd cry out, but deep inside she knew this was fair game. After all, it was part of his abilities, even if it made this into a pretty unfair 2-on-1 fight. Still, Harper would not be deterred. All this meant was that she had to take care of both of them at once. And she knew of one way to do that. Her hands would visibly twitch as her retractable claws came out, one of them quickly reaching for Brad's punching arm and grabbing it, digging into it.

"Don't blame me if this hurts a lot!" She would throw his warning right back at him before her other hand went under the armpit of his grabbed arm, gripping the flesh there. The beastkin would then step in and spin towards his arm until she was backward towards Brad, bending her knees slightly as she would then throw him over her shoulder in an Ippon-seoi-nage.

"DOWN!" The girl would shout as she executed the technique, aiming to not only smash Brad against the ground in front of her but to also wallop Creed using his own original body. Still holding onto his arm, Harper would trap it under her armpit to weaken his ability to defend himself as she released the grip under Brad's armpit, for that hand had a much more important task now: Bash the blonde man's face in.

Unlike her judo throw just now, executed with finesse and precision, the strikes against Brad's face were much wilder and less technically sound, being more akin to clubbing hammerfists than punches. Nicole was a great martial artist, but her skills mostly found themselves in grappling. Still, the lack of technique was more than made up by Harper's brute strength and the sheer number of them being thrown. Face, side, or even back of the head, whichever Brad put in the path of the tigress's fist was getting hammered down like a nail.

Bradwynne had seen his attack connected towards @Harper's body, but it had seemed that the tiger beastwoman was more ready to fight than him, as she then grabbed the fist that he had used to attack him, and then, positioning herself quickly, then threw him over her shoulder and towards his "companion". Although the "companion" should be unharmed because it was just a mass of light and could only manifest when it attacks, Bradwynne half hoped that it also had a material body, since where he fell was the only other option: the solid ground.

Ouch.

The ordeal did not stop there, as Harper did not let go of the arm that she had held, as she then tucked it under her shoulder as she then pounded away on Bradwynne's exposed body. He knew that this was the most dangerous situation that he should be in, and so he then tried to recompose himself as he then tried to get a proper stance. But this proved to be hard as his legs flailed helplessly still looking for that proper footing as he was being mauled, trying to minimize the damage on his face as much as possible. At long last, the treads on his boots then got proper traction as he then dug his heels in while he began to try to swat out every incoming hit from Harper. One hit then went past through his guard and hit him on his cheeks. But it was by design as the other incoming hit, from the arm that was not holding on to his right arm, was then caught by his left, and then, as his other hand then forcefully freed from the lock and then grasped the side of the beastwoman.

"Let's dance shall we?" He then said to the tiger beastwoman, still undaunted from his many bruises. For he knew one creature that could defeat a tiger.

His legs would then try to leap towards a certain angle, aiming to instantly find his body at the top of Harper, shoving her towards the solid ground. He would try this until he would be successful, but Bradwynne was confident on his core strength and the strength of his legs, for he had cultivated those more than his arm strength for the purpose of swinging huge swords around. He could bet that he could do this once and be successful with it. After this would be successful, he would repeat this maneuver again and again, as he would then roll with her as she would be the only one hitting the ground, until he could not do it anymore. He hoped that with this, he would sap out the energy of this tiger faster than he would sap out his.

Harper's offense had been going well, the beastkin clearly having struck the vet by surprise with her maneuver. This wasn't an uncommon thing in this world, as very few people and things expected to be suddenly flipped over their heads by some tiger girl, especially when they were much bigger than her. Such is the joy of Judo. Oss!

However, Harper would find herself temporarily blinded by her success, her effective yet sloppy hammering of Brad's face eventually lending the blonde an opening to counter, the tigress finding herself being swept from her position as Brad ended up on top of her, the beastkin hit the ground back-first with an "Ngh!" And thus began the rolling. Harper would be initially caught off-guard, as there weren't many things in this world that willingly grappled with her like that. She would initially try to struggle against it, but the position didn't help her in the slightest.

Thus, she'd wait, Brad being able to notice that she'd stop actively resisting his attempts at rolling her around after a bit, merely trying to soften her impact onto the ground at times.

Nicole was no stranger to being ragdolled around, having been faced with this same situation when practicing with people much stronger than her. If she couldn't do anything at that exact moment, it was for the best to not waste energy and just go with the flow as she endured it. Once they lost their initial gas, it was much easier to go on her offensive. Granted, this relied on her surviving the onslaught until the opportunity presented itself, but while being flipped on the ground, again and again, would take its toll on anyone, the tigress figured that it wouldn't take that long for him to gas out and give her an opening.

And while she was right, Brad would, unfortunately, prove to be a damn machine. It took a quite literally painful amount of time for him to start to slow down, and by then she could count the body parts that weren't sore in one hand. Still, she had arrived at her desired outcome, and she wouldn't let it slip from her hands. Once Brad was on top of her once more, she would suddenly kick back into gear once more, bringing her feet closer to her body as she grabbed one of his arms with both of hers, pinning it down to her chest before she would bridge her hips up high, rolling to the side of Brad's pinned arm for a good old mount escape.

Once there, she would waste no time getting out of whatever guard or hold Brad might've tried to put up as she pushed one of his legs with one of her arms, pining said leg down by the thigh with her shin afterward as she passed to that side. Once there, she would reach to try and wrap behind Brad's neck with one of her arms as she leaned forwards towards the shoulder on the same side of the wrapping arm, pining his arm against his neck with her head and shoulder. Then, moving over her opponent's torso and to the side of the pinned arm, she would grasp her hands together and lay her hips low to the ground. And now came the squeeze.

Kata Gatame.
Also known as head and arm choke. By applying pressure to both sides of the neck using her bicep and Brad's own shoulder, she aimed to cut the circulation of blood to his brain and choke him out. She had been avoiding using limb holds for fear of injuring him due to not being used to her strength yet or Brad simply not tapping out, and not seeing any reason to risk it in a friendly spar of all things. But in her mind, a choke was fine enough.

He'd go out for a few moments and wake up mostly with just a sore neck for the rest of the day. Probably. Hopefully.
