As the blonde removed her VR headset her eyes were met with a dark room, the sunlight that had brightened the space long gone as time had flown by. A hand reached for the phone by the side of her pillow, the brightness of the screen as it came to life causing Val to wince as a groan echoed in her throat, before visually confirming that it was quite late indeed.

A long sigh slipped from her lips before she lightly tossed the phone back onto her bed, soft grunts escaping her lips as the blonde chased the stiffness away from her joints by stretching her arms. Nothing however seemed able to get rid of the heaviness Val currently felt in her chest, a hand gently pressed against the skin as she focused on the heartbeats within.

She had died, and this time it hadn’t been just a terrible eldritch nightmare…

The loud cries of Diego mixed with the anguished sound of her name as Yugam called out for her, while the anxious thrills of the basilisk now mostly hidden in the hunter’s cloak wrapped up the haunting tune as darkness began to take over.

The pain she’d felt eventually ebbed away as time passed, though her consciousness had no way of telling just how long it had lingered within the expanse of nothing. It almost felt as if days, perhaps even weeks, had gone by even though the ranger knew it wouldn’t take that long before the game respawned her back into that quaint Sun Claw village they’d visited before undertaking this task.

I really fucked up, huh... A dry laughter echoed along with her thoughts, she could only assume it had come from herself given that she couldn’t sense anything else within this void. He’s gonna kill me once they get back to the village.

She knew that much was a lie, Yugam would never willingly hurt her, but Val was still certain her boyfriend would have a few choice words for her once they reunited.

A soft silver glow began to illuminate the darkness that permeated all around her, causing the shadows to recede as her body came back into her view. A simple and loose white dress wrapped around her figure, not too dissimilar from the ones she’d seen Rael wear in her own dreamscape from time to time There was little time to appreciate it as her eyes began to rove about the space she could now see, wondering where exactly it might be.

It didn’t take long before the elf found the source of the light, a massive full moon that hung on what Lúthien could only assume was the sky. Its moonglow stretched far into the darkness, the intensity lessening as it went, but try as it might it was unable to banish it entirely. What caught her attention the most however was the figure hovering in the middle of it, the features impossible to make out due to the brightness of the moonlight, though it looked decidedly feminine from what little the elf could appreciate.

"U-Uene… is that you?" No answer would come, though there was a distinct amusement in the air that ehr mind could sense despite the distance between them. She felt like a new toy that a child greedily gazed over, thinking of all the possibilities and fun to be had with it. It was quite unnerving to say the least, though the blonde did her best to not let it show.

"I died." Though it had been meant as a statement the figure still gave a nod in her direction. After all, in the end the choice had been left to Luthien and no one else—the option to simply cower and hide had been available if the elf had truly wanted it… though it would’ve come at the cost of another, and that was a steep price that Lúthien had been unwilling to pay. "Are the others… are they safe?"

Silence reigned as an eternity seemed to stretch between them, the experience almost deafening to her sensitive ears, but eventually another nod was received. The loud exhale that left her lips as Lúthien released a breath she’d been unconsciously holding startled the blonde, before her lips pulled into a grateful smile as she looked up towards the moon goddess.

"Thank you." Despite her own misgivings towards the deities within this game her words were earnest, choosing to trust and convey her gratitude to the goddess for the opportunity they had all been granted… even if none ever came without strings attached.

"Mrmm..." A hoarse groan escaped as the new body shifted upon the surface it laid. Her throat felt dry and her limbs heavy, almost like the first time Lúthien had dove into the world and attuned to her new avatar. She finally found the strength to push herself into a sitting position, the bright light of the world around her blinding her gaze and causing the elf to wince, before the weight of another as arms wrapped around her neck pulled the blonde into an embrace.

Surprise colored her face as Diego finally came into view for her, causing Lúthien to wonder just how long she’d been out for—certain that the village had been quite far away from the Moon Keeper’s lair. "Aww, did ya miss me~?" She teased the younger caenis in an attempt to lighten the mood, before returning his hug with one of her own as a soft smile pulled her lips.

The anxious warbles of her own basilisk finally drew her attention away from her fellow whistle to gaze at Yugam, an apologetic look in her eyes as she felt Diego release the hold he had on her and step back. "I’m back… guess I can’t give you shit for the Kurungaar anymore."

Cognitive Dissonance:
The state of having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs, or attitudes,
especially as relating to behavioral decisions and attitude change.

She wasn't dead. Well, she was, in-game, for the time being. But she was alive and well in the real world. The thought brought little comfort to Yugam as he waited for the respawn timer to tick down. He could only hope that this was the correct church, that it'd been the closest one.

God, he was going to kill her when she finally respawned.

Despite all this knowledge, that she was okay, that she'd respawn, that she'd only had one death so far, and there were still at least two more between her and UI-Lock, Yugam was in a panic. Or at least, what amounted to panic for him, which was really just anxious pacing or tapping his foot. And scowling. A lot of scowling.

Cognitive Dissonance

Knowing any of that though was meaningless though. Because she'd still died. She was okay. But she was dead. Until she wasn't. Yugam had never watched anyone respawn before. And to be honest, it was probably one of the most boring events of the game he'd yet witnessed, if only because it was so commonplace in other games. A flash of light, and poof! There Luthien was, hale and hearty.

She smiled at Diego, teased him hugged him. Tirsk made an anxious sound from Yugam's shoulder, and Luthien turned around to look at them. Yugam, arms crossed, leaning against the wall. His foot had stopped tapping the stone floor at least, but the scowl was perhaps the worst that Luthien had seen so far.

"I'm back… guess I can't give you shit for the Kurungaar anymore."
"Seriously? That's the first thing you say?"
Although to be fair, what else was there to say? Yugam was still too upset to admit as much though. Yugam pushed himself off the wall and walked towards Luth. "I swear to god, if you ever do something as stupid as that again, I'll be the one to kill you next time," the man said, stopping in front of the woman.

His arms wrapped themselves around her, pulling her tight to him as buried his face in the crook of her neck. "Fuck..."

The scowl on his face had spoken volumes as the silence stretched between them, and a part of her was certain she would've felt the tension in the air with her fingertips if she’d tried. It was the type of stillness that unnerved her the most, a quietness that pushed her to fill the space with something—anything—before it continued to grow and became unbearable. Her chosen words were far from being the right ones, she’d known as much by the hard stare behind his eyes, but even that hadn't been enough to stop them.

"Seriously? That's the first thing you say?"

She’d visibly flinched at the gruffness of his words, eyes casted downwards as a hand unconsciously reached for the red whistle dangling on her chest. Elven ears picked up the sounds of his steps with ease, fingers quietly tracing the newly formed small cracks upon the whistle’s surface as she listened… and, while she knows he’d never truly hurt her, the intent behind his promise isn’t lost on the elf.

It’s only when he stops in front of her that Lúthien finally looks at him once more, before a pair of arms wrapped around the elf as they pull her into a tight embrace. The unconscious breath she’d held onto was finally released as his face was buried into the crook of her neck, and the reality of what she’d endured finally seems to wash over the blonde. She had died.

Her face is quick to bury itself against the fabric that covers his shoulder, arms snaking underneath the cloak as they seek to erase any distance that might remain between them. "I d-didn’t mean to—I t-thought…!" Her whimpering is muffled, spurred out of the blonde when a quiet expletive fell from his lips, while her fingers grasp the material of his shirt as if life itself depended on it.

"I’m sorry…"

Slender arms wrapped around Yugam's torso, slipping beneath his coat as Luthien likewise buried herself in him. Her long strands of golden hair tickled his cheek, his neck, and Yugam's fingers curled ever so slightly, like claws threatening to sink into the elf, loathe to ever let her go again.

"I d-didn't mean to—I t-thought…!" Luth stammered, before trailing off into a quiet apology.
"I thought we established thinking isn't exactly either of our strong suits," Yugam faintly chuckled, before breathing in her scent one more time, squeezing her tightly to him before forcing himself to release her.

His hands remained on her shoulders nonetheless as he examined her. The hard scowl had softened, given way to a faint smile at having her returned to him, though it was still riddled with worry. "Next time, let the tank tank, please."

She felt the way his grip tightened, the pressure of his fingertips against the leather vest that failed to protect its wearer speaking louder than any words could’ve. It mirrored the grasp she held against his clothes, both equally unwilling to break their embrace in the moment.

Whatever tension had still remained was swept away as his words gave way to a faint chuckle, a light smile pulling the edges of her lips as the elf scoffed in return. "I hate to admit it, but you’re not wrong." Anyone with half a brain cell playing this game would’ve learned their lesson by now and chucked their VR headset into the sea… but giving up TerraSphere wasn’t something either of them was willing to do.

"Come here, Tirsk." The anxious thrills of the basilisk finally caught Lútien’s attention as the hunter pulled backwards. Her left hand continued to hold the hem of his shirt between her fingers, and Yugam’s arm served as a bridge for the reptile as it rushed for the elf. "Momma’s fine now, see?"

Her dominant hand easily scooped the critter before pulling Tirsk close to her chest, the basilisk crooning loudly as they pressed their head against the ranger’s chin. Gone was the harsh scowl the hunter had worn as it’d been replaced by a faint smile, though the worry lines that remained as he looked her over her were impossible to miss.

"Mhmm," She nodded in agreement, head tilting softly to press against his palm as he examined her. Gone were the nicks and bruises on her skin and any bloodstain that had littered the elf after the sustained cosmical barrage, as if it’d been nothing more than a terrible dream. "I never wanna tank something like that ever again."

Yugam let out an amused chuckle, despite rolling his eyes at Luth's comment. "Wow. Imagine, me bring right about something," he said dryly as he released the elf from his arms.

Lifting his arm slightly, Yugam allowed the worried Tirsk to scamper over to his mother, who cradled and crooned the lizard like it was her child. It might as well have been, really. As if hearing the return of Luthien's voice, Tubby poked his little head out of the pocket of Yugam's coat as well, and began to do some sort of wiggly dance. Trying to express relief perhaps?

Satisfied that Luthien, other than having died, was unharmed, Yugam stroked the line of her cheekbone with his thumb as the elf pressed herself into his calloused hand. "Learned your lesson then, eh?" he still couldn't help from chastising the woman.

"As much as I'm enjoying the reunion, we should go find an inn," the Hunter suggested, finally letting his hands fall away. "While I'm sure the church is safe, I don't think sleeping on wooden pews is good for anyone's back," Yugam said, casting a look in Diego's direction. "And you need to go get your new whistle."

"Hush you," A finger jabbed into his abdomen accusingly as the hunter pulled back, though the pout on her face lost its shape quickly as a soft laugh escaped her upon seeing Tubby’s wiggly dance—thankful that both basilisk and bloodwurm had been spared from any harm.

"Learned your lesson then, eh?"
"Unfortunately… but yes."

Loathe as she was to have the touch of his hand finally leave her face they all couldn’t just linger out here forever, and their young companion still had to be returned back to her family. "Hopefully they’ll be more welcoming this time around…" The church wouldn’t turn them away at least, but she wasn’t exactly keen to sleep on one of their wooden pews… but maybe now that the Moon Keeper was safe the villagers wouldn’t be as suspicious of their group, especially since it seemed the creature was accompanying them on the trip back.

Though their arrival had been met with initial suspicion—understandable considering the harpy flock that accompanied them—she’d been right in thinking that the Moon Keeper’s presence, and Luna’s safe return, had finally warmed up the villagers towards the party… though she hadn’t predicted they would break out into a full celebration shortly after.

"Looks like we won’t have to worry about room and board for tonight~" There was enough food currently available to feed an army or two, and so far the elf hadn’t tasted anything that she hadn’t liked. Her steps soon closed the distance between them, the ranger joining Yugam on the grassy hill that gave them a decent view of Tranquil Village.

A platter of various cuts and treats was set to the side once she’d sat down, her frame nestled against his as she watched the small basilisk and bloodwurm that played nearby. "This was quite the expedition, huh?" Certainly one she wouldn’t be forgetting any time soon, and not just because she’d copped her first death throughout it. Plenty of things hadn’t gone how she’d initially expected them to, with the alliance between the harpies and the pack members of the village being one of them.

"... Diego said he’s gonna hang back out here a little while longer." She’d been surprised to hear it at first, though it’s not like she couldn’t understand the reasoning behind it. "Seems we left a lasting impression on Luna, she wants to become a Whistle too~"

"Looks like we won't have to worry about room and board for tonight~"
"No kidding,"
Yugam replied, his mouth already salivating with the smell of roasting meats and fragrant spices. Night had since fallen, and in the distance, the fires lit in the village shone brightly. Music carried faintly on the wind, inviting the Whistles to come join the festivities below. And so they did.

With Luth's warm body pressed to his side, Yugam held his plate of food, piled with a generous amount of meat and gravy as they watched the basilisk and bloodwurm play with each other. Which really amount to watching Tubby somehow direct Tirsk around as he rode on the basilisk's back and terrorized all the poor children, who ran away giggling. "You truly have a gift for understatement," Yugam chuckled, before stabbing a piece of meat and shoving the whole thing into his mouth in lieu of the knife he didn't have at the moment.

The man frowned as he chewed and swallowed, listening to Luth update him on the younger ones. "Not until she's older," he said firmly after swallowing. All that happened lately, Luth's death not withstanding, it had only served to emphasize how dangerous their profession was. Before, just delving into the unknown could have proven fatal, but the attack on the Embertorch, had decimated them. And even the things within the borders of their maps seemed to be getting more dangerous by the day. Why was still a mystery. "One day though, if she's still interested," Yugam affirmed, despite being unsure of whether or not there even was an age minimum for new Whistles. Diego seemed to indicate there was not.

It was amusing how well the two critters got along now, a soft chuckle escaping Lúthien as she remembered their first meeting. The bloodwurm had been cautious then, perhaps fearing it’d be a tasty morsel for the basilisk, which was a far cry to the scene now playing out before them. "I have a feeling Luna won’t be the only one tempted to wander away from home in a few years."

Despite the occasional scream it was clear the pups were enjoying their playtime with Tirsk and Tubby, and as such neither man nor elf felt a need to step in and stop whatever silly game they had going on at the moment.

"You truly have a gift for understatement." His comment was met by a faint chuckle, the motion of her shoulder as they shrugged impossible to miss given the lack of distance between. "The one talent the gods so graciously gifted me with~"

She’d made a mocking bow towards the heavens then, a jovial inflection in her voice even if the smile that colored her lips lacked its usual vibrancy. "Makes it easier to deal with stuff, I guess." The last part had been barely louder than a whisper as she’d settled beside the hunter once more, perhaps just a thought that had slipped into the world as it was spoken out loud.

"Unfortunately, I don’t think we get to choose when she’s old enough." If it was up to either of them she was certain the young pup wouldn’t be allowed in as a Whistle until she was way older, it was hard to not become protective of sweet Luna after traveling with her for so long. "Guess we’ll just have to work extra hard and make sure things are safe for when she does join."

A tall order given the current state of things, but she was certain the Embertorch could be returned to its former glory. "... I want her to experience the same joy I felt discovering new places with my own eyes." Despite all of her complaints and protests some of her best times in the League had been while she’d been tasked with the delivery of a dubious package or two by Beleg… even if she’d never admit it to their Senior Whistle.

"The one talent the gods so graciously gifted me with~" Luthien said, after a soft sound of amusement. She stood, bowed in jest towards the sky and Yugam was only a moment away from making a flirtatious comment, but whatever words he'd had died on his lips as the elf muttered something quietly under her breath. Almost quiet enough for Yugam to miss.

"Guess we'll just have to work extra hard and make sure things are safe for when she does join." Luth said, once she'd taken her place at his side again. Yugam tried to come up with some kind of quip, something about the amount of work he already had to tackle, but his mind lingered on Luth's whisper, and the Hunter missed his shot. "... I want her to experience the same joy I felt discovering new places with my own eyes."
"That's if we don't see it all first,"
Yugam finally said, present enough to muster a proper response this time. "It'll be a race then," he said with a faint note of humor.

Yugam set his plate and fork in the grass beside them. No point in letting the wound lie and fester. "So. Wanna talk about it?" the man asked, his voice going soft. Luthien was always the brighter half of their pairing. The Sun to his Moon, always optimistic. Always full of life, the one who always had some joke ready. Everyone was allowed to feel, be hurt, struggle, but never before had Yugam heard the elf say anything like what she'd quietly muttered to herself just now.

"That's if we don't see it all first, it'll be a race then."
"I’m banking on that, but that won’t lessen the wonder they’ll feel when they see those places with their own eyes."

After all, most of their maps were basic at best, and even the most elaborate ones didn’t capture all the intricate details of a place. Some sketches and paintings did come close though, and even then nothing in this virtual world could rob them of that first glimpse into new lands and the rush of excitement that would fill them afterwards… or, at least, that’s how it was for the elf.

It was the single reward that had drawn Lúthien to join the Whistles in the first place, and why she’d never considered abandoning the league despite the dangers and paperwork that were part of their daily activities.

"So. Wanna talk about it?" His words had come shortly after a soft sigh had left her lips, causing the elf to raise her head from its comfortable spot on the hunter’s shoulder to look at him. "Mmm? Talk about what—oh."

It took a moment for her mind to make the connection, unaware of the quiet slip of her tongue, aided by the serious expression in his face as the hunter looked at her.

"I d-dunno…" She’d known of the hidden dangers lurking underneath the exciting escape that TerraSphere provided, had even warned plenty of newer Whistles and starcalled that logged into it for their first few times, but after avoiding them for so long… "Guess it kinda hasn’t sunk in yet, y’know?"

"I'm banking on that, but that won't lessen the wonder they'll feel when they see those places with their own eyes."
There was a ghost of a smile on Yugam's face as he replied, "No, I guess it wouldn't." He forgot sometimes, that in this world, technology, social media, the world wide web, it didn't exist. And so wonders remained wonders, unspoiled by the over-hype of the internet. The mystery, the journey, the destination. Those who said it was just about one or the other were fools, if you asked Yugam.

The elf shifted, her gaze traveling up to look up at the man, staring back at her. She hummed with confusion at first, before perhaps realizing he had heard her moments ago, or that she'd spoken aloud at all. "I d-dunno…" she finally said. "Guess it kinda hasn't sunk in yet, y'know?"
"Ah. The dying part,"
Yugam looked off back towards the fire as he pulled Luthien closer to himself. "Yeah." Once in the real-world, once in game. Death was becoming a companion at this point, and yet, Yugam had no words to offer. "Considering how many times I've been there, you'd think I'd have something more to say about it, but no."

"No, I guess it wouldn't."

She did little to conceal the smile on her lips at his words. Two adventurous souls that had been lucky enough to cross paths twice, a pair that enjoyed the journey just as much—if perhaps not a bit more—as the destination. Many would call them crazy considering the costly risks and dangers lurking beneath their adventures… and they wouldn’t be entirely wrong considering they consciously chose to log into this perfectly camouflaged death trap every day.

"Yeah." Her head nestled against the crook of his neck as he pulled the elf closer, content to erase all the distance possible between them as she rested against the hunter. "It’s been so long since I started playing… I’d almost forgotten about it."

Despite the tales of others—Ari included—a small part of her had begun to believe that maybe, just maybe, it wouldn’t happen to her. "... I should’ve been more careful."

He couldn’t see her face then, but that didn’t stop those delicate eyebrows as the furrowed together in thought. Death itself wasn’t a stranger to the blonde, though she knew her boyfriend’s relationship with them was far more personal than the acquainted brush she’d shared with it.

"Y’know… my first thought was about you." A hand quietly sought his, interlacing his fingers with her own. "I was certain you were gonna be sooo mad when I finally respawned."

Somehow, Luth had managed to nestle in closer, pressed together tightly enough that no gap remained between them. Although he might not have known exactly what it was that was going through the elf's mind at the moment, he could guess.

"The false sense of security. That's the thing that'll get you, always." Real life, Terrasphere, work, driving, existing. Complacency was just the precursor to defeat. Unfortunately for them, in Terrasphere, defeat also meant death. The first couple times at least, that wasn't a true death. Third? Bye-bye BigMacs and fries.

"...I should've been more careful," Luthien quietly muttered. "Yeah, you should've," Yugam agreed, "but now you know. And you won't make the same mistake again." The Hunter gently squeezed the elf's shoulder as he spoke before pressing his lips to the top of her head.
"Y'know… my first thought was about you," she went on as she slipped her fingers between his. "I was certain you were gonna be sooo mad when I finally respawned."
"Oh, I was,"
Yugam said with what might've been a laugh. "You gave me a goddamn heart attack, ya know. You're gonna have to make it up to me at some point."

It was the usual adventure hubris that often happened in tabletops and other games, the type that only surfaced when players got comfortable in their roles and began to overestimate their abilities. She knew it well, and yet had still managed to fall for the classic trap despite the knowledge of how dangerous this world truly was.

Now both of them only had one more chance before this game became their new reality.

"Mhmm, I don’t wanna turn into a Viva Piñata just yet." Humor always made coping with things easier. "There’s so much shit in my inventory that I’d like to clean out before that happens."

Honestly, sometimes even she was amazed at the things she’d found while scrolling through it—a good portion of which the elf wasn’t even sure from where she’d picked them up in the first place.

A soft humm left her as she felt his lips gently press against her forehead, the blonde returning the gesture with a soft nuzzle of her own as her arm tightened on the hunter’s waist. Not only had she felt guilty for the anguish she’d undoubtedly caused him with her death, but a part of her had feared things would’ve drastically changed between them once she finally revived.

"I know," A soft chuckle mingled with his own. "I’ll be sure to do better next time."

She’d thought her skills as they were had been enough, but the game had certainly given the ranger a reality check on that. There were a few ideas she’d managed to conjure up on their way back to the village, things the elf certainly wanted to test out, and gear she’d need commissioned for it as well… but all of that could wait for another night.

"Tell me then," Her voice was slightly above a whisper as the elf shifted, the warmth of her breath tickling the skin of his neck as she spoke. The corners of her lips curled into a playful smirk that was hidden from the hunter, the mirth of it coating her words as she spoke. "How should I make it up to you?"

"I thought you liked being la viva piñata," Yugam replied with a devilish smirk, unable to resist the teasing euphemism. Not when Luthien had walked into it so willingly.

But of course, joking around could only last so for so long. At least so soon after what could only be quantified as one of their worst nightmares. "I'll be sure to do better next time."
"With any luck, there won't be a next time,"
Yugam asserted, again squeezing the elf's shoulders to himself, this time more possessive, and not just out of protectiveness.

On the bright side though, it seemed that near-death experience (or actually dying, in Luthien's case) did little to dampen their more base desires. If anything, it might've only enhanced them, judging by the elf's grin, and words thick with insinuation. "I can think of a few ways," Yugam smirked back, the arm around Luth's shoulders drifting down to place his hand at the small of her back. "But for those we'll have to go find a room at the inn."

She was willing to forgive the light mix up as the hunter teased her in a language that wasn’t his own, perfectly capable of catching the meaning behind them as a reddish tint colored the tanned skin around her cheeks. "L-Look, that’s different okay?" Her elbow pressed against him in a light jab, certainly nowhere near enough to cause him any displeasure, though she had no plans of increasing the distance between them anytime soon.

Neither one seemed willing to part from the other tonight.

He matched her energy with ease, like two celestial bodies perfectly in sync. A quick peek upwards found a mischievous smirk that mirrored her own, the far away flames of the massive bonfire lit by the caenis reflected in those crimson pools. She felt the gentle pressure of his hand as it settled against her lower back, and instantly loathed the fabric that kept his touch away from her skin.

"Mmm, but the inn’s so far away right now…" Her complaints were quietly purred out between the gentle kisses she peppered along his neck, following a path upwards until they reached the edge of his underjaw. "And it’s so nice out here tonight…"

Despite suffering from the light pain of having Luthien's elbow shoved in between his ribs, Yugam chuckled at the flustered response the elf had given him. He pulled her closer instead, kissing the top of her head, even as she pouted at him.

It was a brief pout though, as she was soon giving him a look that might've caused him to worry were it not that it made his blood run hot. The following feather-light kisses along his neck made him lift his chin, stretching, bearing the sensitive skin to her warm breath, those soft lips. A low rumble rolled from his throat, just before she spoke.

"Mmm, but the inn's so far away right now… and it's so nice out here tonight…"

Though Yugam did not lower his chin to look at the elf, the teasing kisses suitably enjoyable, his eyes, half-lidded with pleasure did wander down towards hers. "Is that so?" he murmured. "I'm a little surprised," he admitted, "I didn't know you enjoyed it that much."

It was hard to pretend she was upset when he did cute things like this, a soft hum of appreciation causing the edges of her lips to curl into a smile as he delivered a kiss atop her head. That smile soon gave way to a playful smirk as her feather-light kisses gathered a positive reaction, and the low rumble that escaped him was echoed by a pleased purr of her own as she continued to leave a trail of kisses and nibbles on sensitive skin.

"Is that so?"
"Mhmm~"

A soft giggle, light as a chime, escaped as she listened to him while her shoulders bounced lightly in response. "Well, you’ve never asked so…" She hadn’t picked this spot with that in mind however, merely wishing for some quiet time and a nice view to enjoy the festivities happening in the caenis village down below, but she’d be a fool to waste a perfectly good opportunity when it presented itself on a silver platter.

One glance towards the long forgotten plate of meat cuts confirmed Tirsk and Tubby had decimated most of what had been left when the pair hadn’t been looking. The young basilisk had since curled around the bloodwurm, the joyful feeling of full bellies a powerful lullaby that lured the young ones into a comfortable slumber.

The lilting little laugh, music-like as always, escaped her lips. "Well, you've never asked so…" said Luthien.
"That's fair," Yugam responded with a throaty chuckle of his own.

The elf's little arousing ministrations stopped for a moment as she glanced down at the forgotten plate of food, and the two sleeping creatures, lying down by the fire nearby. Taking advantage of Luth's momentary lapse in attention, Yugam wrapped an arm around the elf's waist, a hand splaying across her lower abdomen as he pulled her snuggly against himself. The fingers of his free hand brushed her hair behind her ear as he leaned down to plant his lips on her neck, followed by a playful little nip and another kiss behind her pointed ears. "You're not gonna keep me waiting after all that talk now, are you?" he teased, warm breath brushing over the conch of her ear.
