Terrified of being buried alive.

"May the daughter see you cross to shore." Though struggling with their current predicament, Ru habitually murmured a prayer under his breath as the lone sheep, Barry, departed from the group. It was one he had found in some scripture while familiarizing himself with this world's pantheon. Voice trembling with each collision upon the shaky barrier, Ru's mind focused to keep his chant steady lest things take a turn for the worse.

A loud, rumbling quake caused his morale to plummet however as a tumultuous avalanche of mud and stone cascaded down towards the group in a torrent of death. Quickly modifying his mana, the barrier would reshape towards the oncoming surge, forming a sharp, angular dam to divert the flow around them. It had a small shunt like shape, leaving just enough space underneath for cover. "HEADS DOWN, HANDS IN!!!" All that was left was trust in each other's efforts.

A momentary failure hurts plenty. She was a Lion yet she could not save even the one sheep that had slipped out her grasp. A shame her footing did not hold. Perhaps she needed more training once she returned to a barrack. A failure like this was unbecoming of a Lion after all.

"Tsk, how shameful of me," Okami lamented to herself as she pressed on with the others, making sure her hold on the remaining sheep in her arms was better and firm. She can't lose another sheep like this. Video game or not, it was a task and a competitive side inside her wanted to at least carry this mission to completion. Plus, they feel nice and warm despite the storm and wind. Maybe she'll come find these sheep again to cuddle.

Regardless of what her future plans are, the present is more important at the moment. As people chanted spells and worked whatever they could to divert the avalanche, Okami contribute in perhaps a less charming way. Even if a brilliant wall of flames surrounded them, it might not stop the large rocks, so she'll cut them down to size.

An adjustment and she pulls out her blade and shifted herself further forward, she'll cut her way through whatever is thrown at her and her party.

With mother nature bearing down on the group with her full force, the group trudged on, slowly and deliberately. There wasn't any way to communicate over the howling gale and heavy downpour. There was so much rain that it made it nearly impossible to stay together.

@Chimney - Try as you might, your magic was not enough to stop the elements. One moment you were exercising your spells, next thing you know the mudslide swept you away like a tidal wave consuming a lone surfer. One sheep was ripped out of your hand and sucked up into the howling vortex. You black out. Urukhan did not claim you, but no one else knew of your fate afterward. Failure

@Pete Simpson - You combat the winds with your own, generated by the godly ring. You couldn't stop the storm, but it didn't stop you from keeping behind Chad either. Success

@Sol - You had difficulty igniting your fire. It felt as if you were lighting a match under water. Thankfully for you, your pyromancy came through and burned away some of the hazards that came toward you and the rest of the group. Success

@Ilya - Your strength and training came through, you were able to hold yourself to the group and even caught a third sheep, the left over when the elements consumed @Chimney. Success

@Ru Ning - Your molding of your divine power shielded the entire group from a tidal wave of mud and rocks. The mass slammed into your barrier and split into two as the group hurried up. Appreciation is overdue in your case. Success

@Hanasakura Okami - Your flame incinerated some of the mud, casting a hard shell around it while you cut down larger projectiles that slipped through @Ru Ning's barrier. There was a lot of it too, but it was a good kind of sore. Success

Sheep Count: 10 - Mini Event: Success

Finally, you reached the manor at the top. While a natural disaster was churning the earth around the manor, the building itself went unscathed, most likely a result of its positioning.

Chad rushed toward the building, a sheep in each arm shouting at the rest of the ducklings following after him. Though, you can't seem to make out what he's saying because the natural disaster has yet to subside.

When you came closer to the manor, several butlers and maids can be seen at the opened door way, they gestured for you to jump in.

(Chad huffed and gasped, nearly coughing up a lung coated in mud while his two sheep bleated as they ran to the manor's servants). God, we almost died out there. Thanks for being on standby, not sure we woulda lasted another second out there.

(He turned around and did a headcount). Grr... damn, when did the chatty Tertorian get snatched? I didn't notice at all.

Chad stewed in a sense of failure since it was because of his complacency that the group lost a teammate and a sheep.

The maids and butlers rushed over to the rest of the group with towels in hands. A tall and rather regal-looking butler bowed to the drenched and muddied adventurers.

"Lady Vigarden is currently not here at the moment, but would be absolutely delighted to hear that brave heroes have rescued the sheep. For the time being, please wash up here and rest. The servants will provide you with room and board tonight."

Alright, you heard what the man said, no good deed go unrewarded. Go get a bath and let's get a grub afterward.

Drained of mana and covered in muck from the landslide, Ru finally slumped onto the ground with labored breath upon entering the manor. Overjoyed at having survived the ordeal, the Lepis would instinctively turn to hug the nearest person out of gratitude ( @Ilya ) further slathering her in mud. "We made it… We made it! Great work everybody! Ahahah!!! What a rush, but let's not do that again… Oh… pardon." Quickly letting go, he'd make an effort to stand.

A nod of appreciation was given to a nearby butler as he graciously accepted a towel to wipe away the grime. It had been a close encounter for sure, a little longer and their entourage would not have held out. In fact, Chad was correct. Someone hadn't. Barry was long gone, most likely to be never seen again. Oh and the Tertorian too, whatever their name was. Though the silence was much appreciated, their disappearance left a bit of a stain upon any celebrations to be had.

Turning to pat Chad on the back, he'd let loose another laugh. "Wouldn't have made it without you at the front. That barrier had me shaking at the knees. Not sure if it could've taken the full brunt at first. But yes, how about that bath? Oh, and contacts. Would anyone like to exchange those?" He would add whoever expressed interest before heading off to clean up.

OOC: WE MADE IT! Feel free to add Ru as a friend.

The sight of the mansion sent relief washing over Ilya's body. They had finally made it... It had only taken a lot of work, without waiting too long, Ilya followed after Chad. It was a nice feeling to finally get out of the wind and rain that had previously been buffeting against her body like a sour tornado. Taking a moment to catch her breath, she let the sheep go so they could get the care they needed. Adventures like this, they remind me of why I was in Lion's Pride all those years in the first place... Unfortunately now, it's changed though.. Ilya had no regret in joining the Adventurer's Guild this time around, but it didn't stop the memories from resurfacing.

Ilya was then handed a towel and began to perilously wipe the mud and slush from her face and arms. I probably smell like a goblin right about now... Ilya daintily lifted one arm, taking a sniff she accidentally inhaled a load of mud. Coughs began to rupture from her throat as her body shook violently trying to get rid of the mud in her lunges. Her coughing was then interrupted by a hug from one of the companions. It's okay." Ilya let out hoarsely, her throat sore from all of the coughing. "I don't mind hugs from my companions."

Scatterbrained... would be Ilya's first thought of trying to describe the character of Ru Ning. His brain was literally everywhere, though it was also something that Ilya could see as a trait shared between the both of them. Which was the very reason she proceeded to open her UI and shoot a sly friend request his way before continuing to attempt to remove as much mud as possible. Her tail proceeding to flick it in every direction as it moved back and forth, heavy from the amount of sheer mud that coated the fur.

With Baal's blessing, Pete survived the ordeal with surprising success. He had actually thought he'd lose a sheep or two, maybe even himself, but in the end, he was just glad the Rings of Saturnine ensured his safety. Might've been a bit horrible on their part, too, having their wielder get blown away like some chump. Even though Pete was most definitely a chump, the Rings were not, and to him, it was their way of making sure they'd stay...non-chumps.

As Pete caught sight of the building, he thought to himself how much of a shining beacon of hope it resembled, like one of those monuments, or maybe testaments, to how the will of man will always triumph against the ravages of nature. Well, most of the time. Truth be told, Pete was pretty sure he was just lucky this time. The next? He might very well get dumped on his head after his first step.

What was unmistakable, however, was the impressively armed man's energy. It was somewhat contagious, even though Pete tried his best to not follow suit, only shaking his head and chuckling to himself as he walked after the rest of the party, still intent on admiring what he could of the building and how it survived the rest of their perils without a single scratch. At least none that Pete could see.

Inside, he surrendered the sheep he held under his arms, Baaabra and Baaarry. He named then just then, before leaving them to their fate, whatever the impressively armed man had planned to them. Wait, we lost someone? Pete didn't even notice, which, to his defense, was mostly because he had just met most of these people today. He wasn't even sure they were all Players. Some of them could be NPCs. The glitches in the matrix...

"Oh, thanks!" Pete remarked absentmindedly, taking one of the offered towels to immediately clean himself up. He really needed a show after that near-death experience. "I am starving! Wait, we're not eating the sheep, are we?" Oh, no! Poor Baaabra and Baaarry! Poor, probably delicious Baaabra and Baaarry...

HA HA HA!

(Chad let out an uproarious laugh as he watched what could have been a budding friendship between the two Beastfolks. Though, @Pete Simpson didn't go unnoticed as the muscled blonde approached him, putting an arm around the man's neck.)

My muscles aren't in the mood for sheep tonight, but they could use a nice long bath.

(He turned to @Ru Ning, @Ilya, @Hanasakura Okami, and @Sol)

I heard the Lady of the Manor has a secret underground Roma-romanovesque style of bath built here. I'm gonna go take a nice deep soak, who's with me?! Head Butler, can we get a celebratory drink delivered below? I would LOVE to experience such water at least ONCE!
