"Punched a lot of people that don't matter, and missed the chance on the ones I should have." Nico replied, but it was hard to be phased by these thoughts right now with good company around a table. Exceptions being due whenever said company did something dumb, such as the korean man did right now-

"I dunno how I'm supposed to feel about that special mention..." This answer earned him a smug smirk out of Nico, who didn't want to say a thing about it, yet he managed to leverage her words towards violence once his next sentence got her to squint her eyes at him, only to look over to Val, who shared the sentiment she did as opposed to the barista's.

"Yes, thank you, it's VERY cute and unique." She pressed her palms together and pointed it over to the blonde in a short praying gesture then turned over to Ari. "You speak like you got nothing going in your life 24/7 in and out of the game and yet I ain't announcing it to the world. You can't argue me on this one." Nico shrugged it off, and she could have gone harder on the insult factor, but today's christmas so he can consider it a second gift if anything.

Specially since the focus here wasn't their bickering, even if it kept coming up to the stage with Ari pointing out how little they agreed, bumping her shoulder against his as if to shut him up to let Val shine already with her play.

"Let's go!" She pumped her fist up to the ceiling, pushing down her left arm on Ari as if to try and reach the skies with a little boost, only gravity followed afterwards and she landed like a split of a second after. To her, it was a mile up, to everyone else, the pinkette just barely lifted herself from the floor.

Once Luthien excused herself, Nico gave a glance back to her gift, then to Ari. "For my birthday I'm expecting a giant golden boot, couse I'm gonna kick your ass real hard one of these days." Arms folding against her chest, going for a bit of back and forth between them once again if only to fill in the void that came from waiting for their violin player to show up once again, and finally the pajama star came from the kitchen.

Yet despite her restrictions, Nico kept quiet and didn't argue, if only because it's her first time as part of a private concert in the audience's side, a pleasure she never thought she could get, but one song should be enough.

Her face turned severe once Valeria begun to play. In reality, that's just how she could focus on the instrument and the notes at play. While not being attuned to the instrument, it's not the first time she listens to one let alone to this particular piece which sounded familiar by all means.

Perhaps it's just favouritism that blinds her right now, bias for the way the elf played, but it certainly sounded the same. Perhaps even better, as the flaws inherent from not being in a perfect fantasy world highlighted passion and skill as opposed to the mechanical perfection that came with having Harmonics Magic as the backbone of a bard's play. There was a clear difference between an actual musician and a mere player with harmonics, and it was plenty noticeable now for Nico, like a heaven-sent symphony.

She was the first to clap for her friend, loud and hard enough that she hoped the walls were made of thin paper for their neightbors to hear both play and clapping alike once it ended.

"Hell, I wasn't expecting a dance even!" Nico added in a higher-pitch that expressed her awe in a moment's notice, a warm smile tugging from the corner of her lips. "That sounded even better than in-game I gotta say. Just shows how flawed harmonic magic is compared to actual skill." She nodded.

As always seemed to happen, Valeria's embarrassed stuttering seemed to draw out a mischievous smile from Ari, even as Nico tried to use him as a booster to reach just a little bit higher. As Val went to go get...something...from his room, Nico, blessedly, filled in the little bit of silence with more of their trademark banter.

"For my birthday I'm expecting a giant golden boot, cause I'm gonna kick your ass real hard one of these days."
"What, why this time?!"
the man asked with equal parts shock and incredulity. "I didn't even do anything!"

Soon enough though, Valeria returned to the living room, tuned violin in hand. "Only one song though."
"Fiiiiiine,"
Ari droned with faint displeasure. One song, for now.

Valeria started a little stiffly, a product of the nervousness that was very plainly on display, but there was an encouraging smile on Ari's face nonetheless, and slowly as Valeria's nervousness faded away and she began to move about the room, the smile grew wider. Each step and sway, the drawn string rasping out another chord was a performance, privately held for the two seated on the couch. And by the time the performance had ended, they were both, no doubt, left wanting more.

"Hell, I wasn't expecting a dance even!" Nico said enthusiastically, her voice just slightly higher than usual. "Yeah, that was great, babe," Ari agreed with Nico, still grinning as he quietly clapped. "And no, I am not just saying that," he added preemptively.

She’d caught faint glimpses of them as the blonde performed for her friends. The serious expression on Nico’s face was one she’d never thought possible until today, but it was the smile on Ari’s face that caught most of her attention. It continued to widen every time the girl stole another glance of her boyfriend, and it encouraged her to give it her best as she continued to breathe life into the song.

"Hell, I wasn't expecting a dance even!" Nico’s enthusiastic clapping was the first sound to quickly take up space when the final note on her violin had faded away, the woman’s loud and excited cheering causing a rosy hue to spread on her cheeks. "Force of habit, I learned how to play from Lindsey and her dances kinda stuck along for the ride."

"Yeah, that was great, babe," Perhaps it was the sheepish smile on her face that gave her intention away, the man quickly closing any avenue for the blonde to deny the praise before she had the chance to speak out loud. "And no, I am not just saying that."

"F-Fine," She finally conceded, a smile on her lips as she looked at her audience of two. "I’m glad you both liked it~"

"That sounded even better than in-game I gotta say."
"Really, you think so?"
"Just shows how flawed harmonic magic is compared to actual skill."

Surprisingly enough the pinkorilla had given the blonde some food for thought, playing the violin was such a second nature thing for the blonde that she’d never stopped and actually compared her ingame performances to the ones she could achieve in the real world. "I always thought they’d be pretty similar—oh fuck!" It was then a stray thought crossed her mind, the magnitude of it enough to cause a curse word to drop from those pretty lips, before she looked at both of them to confirm what she already knew.

"Damn, I should’ve told one of you to record… we could’ve sent it to Ronja and Dayeon as a Christmas surprise."

Foolish Ari simply decided to take the defensive approach as if he didn't knew what he did, only making her glare turn deadlier by the second. "'Why this time' he says. Did I ever need a reason to kick your ass before?!" She fought back with a thunderous voice beaming from her throat. "From here on to my birthday you got like... A fuckton of months. I'm sure I'll have more than enough reasons to kick it until then!" Nico proclaimed, admittedly meaning that she had no reason but that was already a guarantee for the both of them given their friendship.

Fortunately, the man kenw when to catch himself up once they both begun to clap, quietly as if he were shy despite how that sentiment didn't match his voice. He could read her mind for sure, given her gaze squinted back at him until he added a disclaimer at the end, getting a nod of approval from the pinkette.

"I wouldn't be able to pull it off even if I tried! Granted I can't play violin, but still. The coordination needed is super intense. But you did good for being on pajamas." It was surprising to see Val able to perform like that, both clothing and style wise. Her strategy? Praise Valeria enough that the blonde would be forced to accept it on her thick skull that she did wonderfully... Because she really did.

The united efforts of fuckboi and pinkorilla succeeded in the end.

Then she shook off her head once the comparison over harmonics followed with Val's beliefs which, granted, if she didn't pay much attention she might not have noticed it on the first place, or maybe Nico's just that crazy, she couldn't tell. "Harmonics gives a false sense of safe-" She couldn't finish that the puerto rican cussed out, making her blink on the spot as the suspense was broken once she revealed what thought stressed her out just now.

"I see I see... Well, looks like you gonna have to play again~" A cheshire grin reached from ear to ear on her face, wiggling her brows over to Val.

"This sounds more like abuse..." Ari deadpanned, unfortunately unsurprised by Nico's apparent line of logic and reasoning. Not that it made in particular sense to begin with, but things rarely did when it came to the older girl.

Her current line of compliments for Val also made little to no sense, but, again, that was nothing new, and it seemed like Val was soaking them up anyways, so Ari merely smiled and nodded, unwilling to ruin the rare moment, at least until Valeria was reminded of the camera they forgot to use. "Its fine-," the man droned, "There's always next year." And the year after that. Or really any day where they all met up.

"Well, I do believe that's everything, right?" Ari said, glancing under the tree one last time to make sure there were no surprises. "Which means we have all of Christmas now to do...whatever the fuck we wanna do I guess."

"You sure?" She couldn’t help but give Nico a quizzical look as the pinkette mentioned not having enough coordination like Val, after all she’d seen how well the pinkorilla could coordinate herself both ingame and out of it. "I think you could if you tried."

Whatever discussion they were about to have regarding Harmonics and the benefits that TerraSphere provided had soon been lost however when Val realized their one blunder of the day, before a Cheshire grin spread itself on Nico’s face as the pinkette teased her.
"I see, I see... Well, looks like you gonna have to play again~"
"It’s not gonna feel the same way though…"
"It's fine—there's always next year."
Hazel colored eyes turned to look at her boyfriend as he reminded them that there would be more chances in the future to do this, a soft nod given in response while a soft smile pulled at the edges of her lips.

"You’re right… maybe next year we’ll all be together under the same roof~" The thought alone caused her smile to widen as her hand sought his to give it a soft squeeze, before her gaze shifted to confirm nothing had been forgotten under the Christmas tree.

"If I were abusive, I would kick you in the dick." Nico pointed out to worse fates than his current one, but she didn't expect him to budge on that matter, like on any other argument they ever had since forever. It did help to fill in the downtime until Val returned at least, turning eyes over to the blonde as she nicely overestimated her.

"I'm sure I can't. But I mean, I don't play violin so, it makes sense. Now if I was playing the guitar or somethin...'"
She struggled to imagine herself with anything other than a piano, but that wasn't exactly the lightest of instruments to try and waltz around with. "That and I'm too busy to learn that." She smiled, shrugging it off.

Nico ended up rolling her eyes and sighing off, wavy hands signaling defeat as both Ari and Val alike found their way out of her proposition. Another play wouldn't have been bad to keep her awake, but it is what it is. "Fine fine, you two got a point. But I expect -two- songs next time!" Two fingers reminded the puerto rican what the number two looked like in roman numerals.

Ari brought a good point, just as soon as Nico brought herself back up to her feet and tapped her hand against the table. "And you know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna go and sleep a little more, I played too much last night." The pinkette smirked, but the lack of sleep had been apparent to the pair given she looked like shit for the entire christmas despite how energetic she could be. "I'll be up for lunch I think. You two can go have a date, or watch the Cars trilogy, it's on my backpack." Always had to carry these three movies with herself along, and as she flopped onto the couch, she pointed over to the corner where she left it.

"Merry Christmas!" She waved at the pair, then wrapped herself like a burrito on her covers, hiding her face from the lightbulbs with them
