"No seriously, that cat lady is right this way."

Brutus hastened his speed, urgency in his voice as he practically jogged down the hall. He could smell her scent wafting in the air, and using that he managed to avoid any of the pitfalls, traps, or sensors used to alert the guard beasts. They were getting close.

His vision would dart backwards, making sure Corsair and Guy were hot on his heels. His stomping boots echoing through the empty halls as they grew closer and closer to the end. He could feel it, in his bones, in his blood, the end was close. What would lie at the end he wondered? A mountain of gold? Some sort of voucher for a free mastery slot? An answer to why this game was killing people? He had no way of knowing. Finally he would slide to a stop at a four way intersection and growl.

"FUCK. The trails gone cold."

Corsair turned to @Tristaria, shaking her head sadly. "You'd hope so, wouldn't you? No. Once you're out of the starting materials you must find more in the wilds." They continued on, Corsair's tongue loosening as she finally had a chance to talk to a fellow magitech user.

"Up until now I've been having to do to Vintergard for my materials. You can't just buy from the stores there either, they have no idea what's valuable or not. You have to head into the ruins to pick through all the wreckage. Hold that thought. @Brutus Dahlgren, what's the rush? Don't you see catgirls all the time- BRUTUS! Why are you running?"

She jogged, her heavy bag dragging her down with all the precious loot. It was a good feeling, a kind of earned exhaustion, and she cherished her ability to power through as their group rounded corner after corner, searching for the elusive blue catgirl.

As he then heard the booming voice of @Brutus Dahlgren again, saying that he found the catgirl who was known as Trinity again, Darko felt suspicious. This dungeon felt like it would be trying to kill people left and right, and if she, who looked like she was the master of this dungeon, was really nearby, it will spell more trouble. He then moved towards the party again, saying, "Let me go first, I sense trouble brewing," before moving to the bend that the man said he spotted the catgirl, all by himself.

But then the man then chased the catgirl also, and both were travelling in the same direction at the same pathway, until they arrived at a three way intersection. While Brutus stopped there, lamenting that he had lost any way of identifying where the catgirl was, Darko then said, "Maybe we should try all paths first. I am starting with the leftmost path." Before waiting for the man's response, he went in himself.

The path seemed straightforward, and then terminated into a room, which, as Darko entered, then glowed blue. He was about to go away, seeing it was a dead end, but he then felt his wounds closing up and the poison that was plaguing him disappearing. He then stayed inside until all his wounds healed before he returned to the party.

"Dead end, terminated into a healing room. I will try the next."

@Corsair

"Hm... well that's inconvenient..." Tris shrugged, a bit annoyed that she hadn't been collecting the metal scraps she'd been passing up until now. Inconvenient in timing too.

All that said, it was kinda nice to be near someone who had an idea how the heck magitech actually worked. Tristaria smiled at the other magia, although it looked... pretty much the exact same as every other expression she showed: completely indifferent.

"I see. Maybe we could collect together someti--" she was cut off as the girl ran ahead after a giant man she'd been traveling with. Tris didn't really like running. Nor did she need friends. She'd just let 'em go ahead and catch up later, maybe.

Meanwhile, a strange monster suddenly struck from the side as she pondered the inner workings of magitech. It was as weak as the others: easily dispatched with another lightning bolt, although Tris did end up with a small scratch.

"Why couldn't it have been another robot...?"
she sighed. Someday, she'd get the materials for magitech...

Well, what could he say?

His job here, as it was, looked to functionally be done.

After the initial mishap of Moonsong's encounter with the Shadow Cloud, the rest of the newcomers, now cognizant of the dangers of the dungeon, advanced with proper recon, and even the emergence of puzzles, traps, more shadow clouds, and a whole boss monster was insufficient to stop their glorious advance. And, most importantly, none of them pushed it to the point where they risked their lives for a miserable little dungeon like this. Perhaps it was simply because the threat of outlying dangers was relatively stable and predictable. Perhaps news of the cost of three deaths in Terrasphere had spread, and now cooler heads prevailed within this deadly virtual game. It was happiness inducing, nonetheless.

And now, he could feel it drawing closer and closer. The stars reaching the edges of the galaxy, the song drawing closer and closer to the climax. Cool stones and steel pipes, magitech from another time. It would not do for a Flagbearer to steal the sense of accomplishment from those who had struggled and learned, delved and survived, but there was one thing he could offer.

They have exhausted themselves with their headlong sprint. It would be a pity, no doubt, if they were to stall now, to be forced to retreat, to see their progress gradually be erased.

So the midnight-haired muse hefted his flagpole, the banner spiraling around the end as if to draw into itself the very darkness of the ruined labyrinth. He widened his eyes, astramantic gaze projecting further and further ahead, racing through imagined routes towards the dungeon's conclusion. Grasped the path the banner ought to lead.

And Cain intoned, voice resonating with pipework, voice echoing off the stonework!

"Advance, adventurers! The end is near! Rally your might, and conclude with bombast!"

With a grin, he hurled his banner, his spear, his guiding light, a starlit trail racing through the dungeon and suffusing the routes with a brilliant blue...whilst vaporizing the poor 'Prototype' that just happened to be caught in its path too.

Yes. His work here certainly was done. And so...farewell, little kittens~

Whilst everyone else was talking among themselves, they had failed to notice the absence of a certain man... a GUY, even, who no longer was there after the chaos. He had seen the sudden violence come into play, and his survival instincts had kicked in just like that. Essentially, he had run away.

He was very good at running away.

It wasn't as if THE GUY was ever alone, though. After all, he could hear the conversations of the other players from several hallways away!

"Ha, ha, ha! So true, Brutus! She really is right ahead of you. I've said hi to her twice, now!" THE GUY said to nobody in particular-because nobody was around. No matter who he could hear, he really was alone. He would have gona back to say hi were it not for this really interesting shifting hallway puzzle.

It was apparently 4-dimensional from what the puzzle tips told him! "Find the timeline in which the hallway is and will be straight," it said. The hallways had even tried to send a Toxic Ooze Assassin from the future to kill him, but thankfully a Darkjo from an alternate timeline (labeled as an npc, but it acted like the guy pretty well!) came back to warn him about it in time.

And here he had just solved it, too. Now nobody would ever have to worry about this massive waste of time.

A pop-up appeared on his screen.

[Great job! The divinatory powers of your ASTRAMANCY Mastery can help you predict the solutions to important problems! Be sure to use it when you need to think of a way out of a sticky situation!]

Due to the increase in the pace of exploration, the group almost screw themselves over by triggering the same trap Moonsong had encountered earlier, the shadow cloud. Fortunately along the way, they stumbled on another group with @Tristaria spotting the dangerous trap just before @Ru Ning could step on it. "Eh, I suppose we should take it slower." She shrugged.

And so they progressed more without much difficulty, and even passed yet another golden room (which Ru insisted that it's not the same room he encountered before). The dungeon slowly revealed its patterns, and they finally spotted a cat version of the Trinity girl, along with the smoother path ahead. "We should be close to the end of whatever this is. Let's go!" Moonsong took point and walked faster towards the Neko Trinity.

Zelrius had found the stoney entrance poking around Brisshal, peering through the opening with narrowed eyes and beginning to walk through. Trudging through the ominous darkness and maze of passages ways that reeked of a whole band of something having run through here. The various torn bits of clothing, stains of blood, and corpses of monsters left behind with every turn he made. Eventually coming across that of the miniboss, though it hardly looked it anymore. And just ahead, various sounds of those trudging through. Echoes of voices, and foot steps. He knew what he had to do. The man drew his two swords, winding up with a runner's crouch forward, before blasting off at his heel with all the speed this game body of his could muster. It wasn't as fast as he had seen some others go, but it was still more than his own real life body could even possibly handle. Blitzing through in long, bursting strides that turned any of the brick and layered stone walls into a blur, his reaction quicker than his mind as he made wild turns and mad dashes down corridors.

Somewhere in the commotion, he had perhaps seen a face or two that the man would have recognized. But, there was no time to stop and catch up, verbally. His singular mission was to catch up physically. Making another turn wherein a bat had dropped from the ceiling seemingly out of nowhere. It was easy, in all his motion to simply raise his two blades in succession and bisect the creature, dashing far ahead all those he saw, and ever closer, to whatever lay at the end of this dungeon...

Supporter: Once per cycle, you spend 30 HP to restore others' HP by 20. This can be divided between 2 different tagged allies.

That was a weird dungeon she was in, with that weird cyan-haired mascot girl showing up out of nowhere and starting to babble about things that Ruby didn't really understand (and didn't really care for either). All she wanted was to keep exploring the depths of that dungeon and fighting some monsters while avoiding the crowd.

@Kamala Graham was soon surrounded by a bunch of people she knew, and Ruby immediately felt sheepish, stepping away with an awkward smile and raising a hand. "Oh, my bad! I thought you were by yourself. Good luck!" She said, taking @Ayna Nietzsche small gift and blinking surprised. "Ah! Th-Thank you!" She said before darting off, rushing ahead while having her blade with her.

However, with a wrong turn, she soon found herself nearby being engulfed by a Shadow Cloud, making her quick step backward so she would leave it, feeling its threatening nature try to wound her.

"I've never saw a shadow that could be hit with a sword-" She pursed her lips. Maybe she should have practiced shadow boxing so she could use her fists.

Sheathing her sword, she took a few dance steps and advanced acrobatically toward it, with the bells on her body ringing and expelling magical notes that soon disrupted the evil creature's form, at the cost of a few bruises on Ruby.

"Ugh-" She frowned, staggering her way out of the combat.

@Nyancy @Laylabelle

"Ha, my bad, I guess even when trying not to, being unexpected is kinda built into me," he joked. "Cyrus," he returned the introduction with a wave, and nodded at Nyancy's explanation of being the lead.

He followed after the duo, and observed intently when she killed a monster. It was efficient work. "I've not yet fought any here," he admitted. "You seem strong though!" he complimented.

Cyrus gasped when they went into a whole gold room, enthralled. "I wanna take these walls with me." Bringing a dagger to them did nothing, unfortunately, and he stopped before his weapon risked getting damaged.

When Nyancy asked about him, Cyrus hummed, putting a finger to his chin. "Well, I'm new, not many I know yet. And the intel I got said this was a beginner's dungeon, so," he shrugged. "Didn't seem like being solo would be that hard, but, hm. This labyrinth has some weird vibes."

He gave a thumbs up to Nyancy's claim of being a fighter – from what he'd seen, she fit the bill. "My skills? Well," he drew out two daggers from a holster at the small of his back. "Stabbing, hiding, traps, and," he stashed the daggers, and wiggled all fingers mystically, "a dash of magic!"

He turned to Laylabelle when Nyancy pointed to her, and grinned at her welcome. "Off-kilter is my kinda jam!" he told her. "So, nice to meet'cha, too!" he mimicked her greeting, having liked it. "Haha, if it's treasure you're after, I'm your guy," he promised her. Cyrus didn't sweat it too much that he had no useful advice in mind just then; this was a very go-with-the-flow kinda group, just the thing he was looking for.

He bobbed his head up and down as he listened to her lay out the team tactics. "Sounds great, real pro. I'm in," he promised. Cyrus did as his companions did, watching in another direction when each of them fought, covering their backs.

The trio went on after Laylabelle defeated a toxic ooze. However, while they tried to avoid a nest of oozes, a Shadow Cloud seeped in from a tiny opening near the ceiling. "Contact, I got it," he informed the other two. From a pouch on his leg, he pulled out a handful of tiny bombs, and threw them at the creature. His attack produced a sequence of popping noises, sparking with light from the miniature explosions. The monster vibrated in distress, and sensing weakness, Cyrus shuffled to the side, letting auto assist take over as he materialized shadows of his own to tear apart the enemy. Slain by your own kin, how appropriate.

However, the Shadow Cloud, even after being ripped apart, and in its death throes, was not compelled to just roll over and give up. A small part of it rushed right at him – Cyrus inhaled –

"Keh! Hrgggh. Agh," he coughed, to dispel the monster corpse that was essentially just like heavy factory smog by then. "Bastard tried getting into my lungs," he complained, wiping at his eyes, as he'd teared up from the ordeal. It took him a moment to feel like he could breathe clearly again, but he was mostly fine. "Aaaaanyhow, let's get going." If he wasn't much mistaken, they were getting close to the end of this area.

Forgotten Labyrinth

You enter a large room. Similar to the previous color-hued chambers from earlier. This one lacks the color, however. Across the way is another of those heavy double doors. This time they were tightly closed and there was no obvious device to unlock them with. Besides those doors, there were two hallways leading out of the room to your right and left. Which you try out only to find yourself going in circles and returning to the same chamber again. About to turn around and head back the way you came you suddenly hear a scratching noise. A shuffling in the opposite hall...

Then the same sound also came from behind you, from the path you had just entered from.

"Prrrr... Welcome ."

Trinity emerged from the hall, dragging her feet across the ground as her head bobbed left and right. The strange sounds must have just been her (now noticeably misshapen} boots dragging against the floor. Trinity would continue through the room as the same sound that was behind you continued to grow louder.

"Prrrr... Welcome ."

Trinity emerged behind you and repeated the phrase as she passed you by.
Wait.. again? Indeed there were now two Neko Trinitys. The duo continued to awkwardly make their way towards the door and then turn to face the party of Travelers...

Or their torsos did anyway. Now standing in an impossibly twisted position they moved their arms like broken limbs, gesturing at the party. Or attempting to as their arms flailed about. Their twintails moved like they had a life of their own, rubbing against the large doors behind them. Black smoke with a hint of putrid green emerged from the doll-like joints where the elbows or knees would be. Their boots almost seemed to be... melting?

"Wannnnnnnnnnaaaaaaaa Queeeeeeeeessssssst?

They uttered before the door opened and a pair of pure white eyes could be seen in the blackness beyond. The eyes closed as the two Trinitys walked into the now open door. Still facing the party from the waist up as they vanished in the shadows.

A screeching hiss could be heard from within...
