Frame pulling back, arm as far outreached as she could manage. The sound a loud thudding in an almost rhythmic fashion from beside her as Kaede shifted all her weight and gave it everything she had to toss the ball with her magic out into the massive field she had found before Totetsu rushed off aster her favorite toy. Kaede sighing and trembling from the constant use of magic to keep tossing the ball as hard as she could trying to tire the lunatic hound down to no avail yet. Looking up to the sky as she fell backwards into the grass with thud. One day she will set something up to keep that puppy busy, but not just yet.

Watching the clouds overheard as she listened to the happy barking of Totetsu and some of the others in the area worried the hound might not stay as peaceful as it had been each time it got farther away from the one they assumed was controlling it. To be honest Kaede was also worried about that and was why even while laying down 'relaxing' she was tense and ready to bolt upward and after the hound to stop it from doing harm to people just enjoying the nice warm summer day they had. It was days like this Kaede enjoyed and hated, because her dad loved them and the thought he might be against them now since it was always these days the two hanged out outside playing basketball or catch.

Tears creeping into her eyes as she wanted so badly to ask a player who could sign out to send him a letter with their little encoded message of a proper farewell. But the same token if he had started to move on, that would only send him back into depression. Rolling over in the grass she could only shout into the grass like a weirdo. Why did it have to be so annoying? Stuck in a state of dead but alive in a sense, and with people she cared about on both sides causing her to not know what side to go towards or stress about more? Grumbling as she rolled back over and sat up to resume watching Totetsu chasing the ball as magic kept it just out of reach.

Fate was really a weird construct. Sometimes, it led you right into doing heroic acts. Other times, into situations of near-death. The pace was quite different too. Often, Seigi Ling Ling went without the guidance of the Fate Thread for weeks, and then there were also the moments of it being near constant.

In a way, it was a mockery. The girl who defied fate. The girl who didn't believe in the supernatural. The girl that, with all her heart, believed that with hard work one could attain anything one desired. Yet, here she was, chasing the Threads of Fate like an addict following a trail of alcohol. ... Seigi was technically an alcoholic, too.

Nonetheless, following this particular thread, the corrupted Hero found herself in front of a... dog? And a magical ball of magic.

Tasty...

Was one of their first thoughts, but Seigi quickly dismissed it. Animals were cute. So were dogs. And if anything, she felt bad for it. Like a carrot on a stick dangling in front of a donkey. Thus, without putting much thought into it, Seigi grabbed the sphere, its energy burning her bandaged palms and revealing the light-absorbing darkness below.

"There you go! Who's a good boy?!" She offered the ball to Totetsu.

Kaede noticed the person who ended the game of chase, part of her mind tugging a memory of before she was locked in the game or around that time. hand gripping the grass tightly and pulling it up as the name cut her mind like a hot knife across butter. This was the girl that at the time, had stopped her from protecting a dangerous newborn entity in the form of a woman. Looking back she understood the reason why, but it did not annoy her any less.

"The idea, is helping the hound burn all the energy it has and get a workout... So unless you can throw..."

Her words cut short as the ball was handed to Totetsu and the hound wasted no time running right back to Kaede for it to be tossed again. A sigh of defeat as she would be having to do another heavy toss but least now she had some anger to fuel it as she got and and got ready to throw the ball overhead with both hands like a beachball serve. Forgetting to check the magic before letting it into the ball until she was letting go at the end of the arc as it shot off like a toy rocket and had the puppy rushing after it.

"Well that will burn her out I guess... Hello again... Seigi, can't say you look much the same as last time we crossed paths but then again I'm the same way. Held anymore people back and let goth loli kill the person they tried to protect?"

The venom in her tone was clear, and the air around her crackled lightly with dark magic in response. Yes she did not hate the fact it had been done now, but the anger she had towards the two children at the time still held a light grip over the present. They so willingly took a life and seemed unbothered by it, it was enough to make Kaede see them as an issue or ones that would become an issue later as she tried to calm down before speaking again.

"That was rude way to start a conversation... How you been?"

Suddenly, Seigi was spoken to by someone she knew familiar. Yet, it seemed to be very, very, long ago. Yet the brunette made apparently enough of an impact for this stranger to still remember. There was venom, anger, and spite.

Something they would love to feed off on. In fact, for a few moments @Kaede Hoshi could see Seigi simply standing here. While not feeling particularly threatened, the Hero too seemed to be not very amused. Maybe she was about to deliver a punch? A sudden fight, right here?

Nah. Suddenly, Seigi's facial structure relaxed, as she closed her two different colored eyes and sighed. Before looking up at the slightly larger woman. "You got a cute pet, I could try throwing a stick too!"

Though more importantly. "I... am fine. I guess. Thanks for asking, but..." Seigi had never been much for empty social norms. In fact, her parents made it hate so much more. And now that she'd never seen them again...

"...but do we know each other? Goth Loli?" She tilted her head in slight confusion. Yet also somewhat on guard considering how just mere moments before she felt the need for a bit of a power display.

"Little emo magi girl, from when we... nevermind, past is the past I guess. Far as know each other, not really. I'm sure we may have been in a few major fights on the same side, but far as smaller groups just the one time and neither left the best first impressions I'd day."

Kaede tried to recall if she seen Seigi in some of the 'event' level things but for the most part she kept to herself or was more focused on woman not the girls sadly admitting to herself. A light shrug as she looked the kid over and noticed a few things had changed and none exactly seemed to be good. Kaede's she hid better though so seemed the UI locked all had issues to deal with. Shifting to reach a gloved hand out with a slightly forced smile for the time being.

"Least we can do is a proper introduction that is long overdue. Name's Kaede Hoshi. Nice to meet you, the large hound was Totetsu, the little Lunatic puppy I had back then... but I think I had her stay at home that day... I can't recall myself with how drunk I was ha-ha."

Kaede admitted as she scratched the back of her heard with the other hand and laughed. Least back then she was simply a drunk pervert, then she had her Drunk monster/pervert years, and now she was a struggling sober pervert trying to atone for the crimes of her monster she could not bring to kill off. But that was not on he plate of worries at the moment as she would, if the hand was not taken coil it back and make a note of it for later.

Seigi's plot senses were tingling as Kaede further described a 'little emo magi girl', though she'd get to that in a moment even if it was hard to hold back.

"I suppose we were." The hero girl took Kaede's hand into her own, bandaged, hand, and gave it a firm shake. "I am Seigi Ling Ling. Some call me Hero, and I guess I once wanted to be one..." She sounded a little bit sad, ultimately still searching for that spark, before forcing a smile. "Must be nice to have a pet, I think the Orphanage has a dog or two, too. But I'm not really around too often to bond much." She still couldn't figure out why, with all the money Seigi had, she still hadn't settled down with a house or somewhere though.

"Say, you mentioned something about a magi girl..." Slowly, it returned to her. This whole memory thing truly was frightening. What one could remember with a bit of push. "Have you... seen her since then? Anywhere?" Sounding just a tiny bit too desperate.

"Yes, and I wish I had not, She got more edgy and I did not think that was even possible. She was attacking some new players when I noticed and approached. Since she flew off though ,not seen her and think it was about a week or so ago? Just know it was before the whole red fever expedition."

Kaede was trying to help, but she really did not see 'Wendy' or as she called her edgy magi girl' as someone she wanted to keep running into. She was in a worse state then Kaede was mentally seeming to be dueling at all times with something inside her and till Kaede got her own fight under control she had no plans to go mixing or messing with someone else's problems. Her mind then clicking back to another topic as she could only sigh.

"We all have that one title we like but never feel we earned... As for having a pet it's fun at times but there is also upkeeping them and to be honest it sort of sucks dealing with a massive hound who forgets they can shrink down to make less of a pile to clean up..."

Kaede would nervously chuckle about the very big issues she dealt with from time to time, it was not the best small talk but Kaede was not exactly good at keeping such conversations going without falling back onto being a pervert to fill the space till she thought of something else to talk about. Moving to her bag to get out some tea and holding it up as if offering if the other woman wanted some while she get it brewing.

"So what you been up to, Last I check the two of us had been stuck her last four years but Don't think we crossed paths all that much despite the limited space we are allowed to go ha-ha. Then again I tended to stick to the Brisshal woods and hermit life-esc style so that partly why... but still..."

Kaede... seemed to talk quite a lot. But that was okay, probably. If anything, these Threads of Fate that made them meet like this had a purpose. Aside from... catching up(?) like that, it seemed like Magi was also active. After all these years, she could finally...

Seigi shook her head, this was a matter she could think of later. "I am sorry for what Magi did and thank you for letting me know. I... I'm going to save her. Definitely." Letting @Kaede Hoshi know that she was indeed quite grateful.

Giving Kaede a light chuckle, Seigi turned around to check if she could see the dog somewhere, albeit the ball was apparently thrown quite far off. "I'm sure you could make some pretty buck with the... fertilizer, your pet produces." Despite the absurdity of the idea, the Hero seemed quite serious about that suggestion.

"But anyway. I've been... traveling, quite a lot. I guess... Self-discovery and getting stronger and all that, yes? Though I suppose you could say I am still on that journey. Even with the limited space, there is a lot to, well, discover. And think about. So it sounds like you sort of settled down, then? Do you miss... the other side?" Seigi asked before shaking her head in refusal to the tea offered. "I'd love to, but I can only enjoy meat and alcohol..."

"Not as much as I've heard others, and much less so after my little tantrum of two years one might say ha-ha. Only things I miss nowadays is proper showers, and manga. Outside that everything else I do best not to think about much anymore. The meat and alcohol I can't exactly help with since I'm trying to stay sober nowadays after getting forced on this path being captured and all but that is beside the point. The fertilizer would be a fine idea, but I'd rather not deal with the smell that long to sell it."

Kaede chuckled, replying to the questions and statements in a random order due to her own thinking of jumbled ways. As she looked over Seigi though the elf did not think drinking was something a kid should be doing. Sure the girl was older now but she did not look above the age to be drinking. To each their own, was how she wrapped the mess up into a box to ignore. Looking out at the horizon wondering what the area outside her usual haunts had been like only to sigh and recall WHY she stayed where she had.

"Not so much settled down just yet. I can't exactly control some of the magic I have, and rather then go places where I need full strength to stay alive I stay here until I get it back under control. That and I do plan to retire from all this fighting and such once my favor to Astor is paid."

Kaede returned her focus to Seigi while adjusting her seat to be less hazards of spilling hot tea on herself and pouring herself a cup as they kept talking. She got the feeling it was not entirely what the other girl wanted but Kaede's only other idea in mind was sparring to see if maybe she could fight them on even footing this time when last she was weaker then the child. Not wanting such a thing to be the topic she took a slow sip of her tea and opted to track Totetsu some as the hound had started to return with the ball in tow.

Seigi listened some, and then some more. If things weren't about fighting, punching things, saving the world (or people), or some sort of melodrama happening, then she was really in a territory that she wasn't that good at.

Nonetheless, Kaede did say some interesting things that the brunette picked up upon. "Can't control your magic? What do you mean?" She asked first. "Retire..." Huh, Seigi too, could retire. She won the lottery, invested her money, and could now live as a business-woman instead. Sometimes, she had thought about it. And another time, she had thought really-really long about it.

"So, are you to say you're fine with things as it is?" She asked, and wanted to ask some more. Though the other question was if she dared to ask. "Don't you want to... go back?" A rather careful question. Kaede wouldn't have been the first one to accept the circumstances the way they had been and just, settle down, instead of continuing to struggle.

"The issue with having emotions on high with being an elf, and every taboo magic with corrupt atop it... can result in some... unfriendly moments. Turns out I also had a bad case and still do of split personality and that other half of me has sort of claimed the magic so controlling all of it is limited to small windows on good days and a lot of seals any other day of the week."

Kaede would pull her left sleeve back and glove down to reveal the runes drifting along her skin that she kept hidden. Each ring of them another seal on her magic to keep it from flaring out and rotting the area beyond what she could repair as quickly or faster then it destroyed it. As far as showing a hint to a second personality there was little she could do on that front safely. Her other half wanted nothing to do with most everyone and that was just sort of how Kaede was when the disappearance started. The mention of going back was met with Kaede covering her skin back up before speaking.

"If there was a way I could, and a place to return to I would... The people I knew back then likely have moved on or dealt with my body as I would have liked so there would only be a jar of ashes next to a fireplace. Then there is the other things we don't know much about..."

Kaede would catch her breath while looking upward before going into the longer stretch of the thoughts.

"We don't exactly know how long it is been, even if the new players say it matches time we experienced of four years. Then if we did truly die from a medical stand point the body would be long decayed unless preserved and even then there is almost no medical record of a body reanimating or coming back without serious issues after five minutes of the brain stopping.

Then you also have to consider the facts if we could return, be it whatever way would things from here also be able to follow us back such as magic or the so called 'demons' or dissonance? There is to much we don't know and can't fully say for sure the outcome or result of trying to play god to that degree. Yes the makers of this game tried such and we are the unlucky few who suffered that we know of. The best we can do is not hold to much hope for return and find things here worth enjoying...

After all elves have a long lifespan the game says so I'd likely be stuck holding that hope to long and the people I would wish to return to be long gone and make me fall into another despair. Sorry... I'm a bit of a negative Nancy without drinking... I do hope there is a way back, but my place to return is long gone so I have to accept the reality."
