Yamanaka - often called Naka by her friends - is a kind heart, shy girl who enjoys nothing more than spending time with her few close companions, and online. An avid gamer and musician, Naka often found herself spending time combining video cuts of her in-game adventures alongside snippets of musical pieces that she created.
While she is often described as timid and shy, Naka can easily open up to her friends in a way that many would describe as extroverted. Caring, kind and always thinking of others, Naka is often known to have been taken advantage of - something that her closest of friends try to protect her from. While not gullible, Naka enjoys giving up her time and effort for others - especially those in need, and sometimes finds herself being used to other's advantages in this regard.
Naka tends to keep to herself as much as possible, avoiding social interactions of grandeur scale. While she enjoys heading out on the town with her closest of friends, she isn't known for attending major social events - excluding those few concerts that catch her eye, and are usually in smaller venues.
When not attending work or school, Naka focuses on helping those in need - often found volunteering at different organisations designed to help those who are less fortunate than herself, caring for individuals and listening to their problems. Her friends often inform her that she cares too much for others, and that she focuses all of her energies outside of herself.
In-Game
Naka joined the world of TerraSphere for one purpose - to try and reach out and introduce herself to a work beyond her own reaches. Creating the character of Yume, Naka hoped to become something she could never be in the real world.
Where Naka is caring, kind, considerate, and timid, Yume is protective, outgoing and dangerous - or so she hopes to be. Although not a killer in essence, Yume stands strong for the values that she holds dear - even going so far as to raise a blade against those who harm those values.
Considering herself a knight in shining armour, Yume focuses on protecting those around her - not considering them weaker, or lesser in any sense, but believing that one's entire value in their existence is in how they treat others and the actions they take. She believes herself a guide in this - displaying a virtue of knightlihood that would match the stories of old, as if pretending that she can somehow protect everyone in TerraSphere.

Background
Family & Friends
Naka comes from a well-off family that exists in both Canada and Japan. Born to a Japanese father and Japanese-Canadian mother, who split in her younger years, Naka spent time travelling between the two countries - often being shuffled between the two for reasons she didn't understand at the time.
While in Japan, she learnt about the caring nature of her father's parents, their lower status in society and how they adhered to the older ways of their culture. Naka immediately fell in love with the mindset, and when the two passed away she found herself heartbroken and lost for a time.
It was during this period that Naka was introduced to the world of online gaming, finding solitude and comfort in the anonymity that came with the only realm. It was during this time that she met one of her first close friends - a Japanese girl by the name of Kaya Chise.
Through Chise, Naka was introduced to a few others in Japan who shared their values and ideals, as well as their interest in the online hobby. The group has remained close over the years, and still can often be found together - going so far as to visit Naka the few times that she had to return to Canada.
Hobbies & Home Life
Naka spent much of her younger years being shifted between her father and mother's homes, before eventually choosing to stay in Japan. During her time in Canada, she was taught the fundamentals of English, as well as the politeness that makes up the Canadian stereotypes. She found, however, that the general behaviours and xenocisms that she faced in the country were something that she could not align with.
Choosing to return to Japan, Naka spent a lot of time at her father's parents, a small village well outside the Sendai borders, learning from them. It was these grandparents that pushed her towards her choice of education - believing that she could help a lot of people by focusing on psychology - as well as encouraging her towards the continued engagement with her musical talents.
Hoping to hold on to their memories, Naka continues to study and integrate her gaming and musical adventures in her life, often uploading her creations to online social media platforms for others to enjoy.
Although she has a small following on social media, Naka never expected to become famous - nor did she ever want to be in the spotlight. Content with making pieces that appeal to her, she uses her talents towards entertaining herself and her friends, focusing on her school work, and generally enjoying life as best as she can.
TerraSphere
Naka was introduced to TerraSphere through a pure fluke incident. An email meant for someone else, clearly mislabelled and sent to her instead, contained the access link required to download and engage in the world.
Once she had stepped foot inside TerraSphere - although scared, Naka found herself in love with the world and the game itself. What little she had heard about the game - from conversations her and her friends had in person, as well as the general notices provided by the government - had not prepared her for the world of TerraSphere, and Naka quickly found herself ignoring those notices, finding a new home where she could recreate herself.
