Sweet, childish, and rather dumb would sum up Wendy pretty well.

She is generally a simple-minded girl with extremely naive views of life and a heart of gold. A childish dreamer that just joined to be a hero of love and justice. She wanted to build the perfect Magical Girl persona and role-play episodes of only the most kid-friendly of them. Just some anime-loving weeb that lived in suburbia. She works hard to get good grades and be a good hall monitor while watching her house when her parents and older brother are away.

If Terrasphere was just a silly kid's game, maybe she would have at least attained it to some degree.
It was too real.
It was too complicated.

Wendy while playing Magi Heart was trapped in a world of Dissonance and in turn, was stranded in Terrasphere. Magi Heart is now a complex mess of Wendy's ideals, fantasies, and personality.

Wendel is a dissonant echo of a lost grieving girl bouncing back from the dark. A personality that has crumbled and rebuilt itself under different situations over the course of years. She is young in both mind and actual development for a Dissonant and serves to find her path to full Second Order so that she might obtain the power to help all living (and post-living) things find a permanent form of peace. A desire that brings about frequent genocidal fantasies and acts that appear cruel and inhumane, but for Wendel are those of a true savior to the suffering... which she sees as everyone.

Within Magi Heart, Wendy and Wendel have come to coexist. If she was still able to return to the real world, Magi would for all intents and purposes be diagnosed with severe multiple personality disorder. Both of them experience different forms of culture shock depending on the topic.

For Wendy who was trapped in a subconscious state during the darkest period of her time in Terrasphere as a servant of Vermillion. The world of Terrasphere is still fairly new. Having most of her clearest memories being her time fighting alongside others as a pretend Magical Girl before and during Astorea's early years. She also has a stronger connection to real life and more vivid memories of her life there. So in Terrasphere, Wendy has difficulty dealing with all of the locations, people, and requirements needed to survive reasonably. Instead using only the bits and pieces she learned over the years suppressed by Wendel.

Wendel has had all the years of Magi Heart being trapped as a Dissonant to learn and grow. She has nearly the same level of experience in Terrasphere as a traveling Lander might (and moreso depending on which Landers). Seeing Terrasphere as her home and having far less memory of the real world, she lives off of instinct driven by Wendy's ideals when she was born. When dealing with "normal" activities and interactions, Wendel becomes lost and has to act her way through until it's time to perform her Magical Girl saving duties (usually involving a tax of energy from her client or if they are vulnerable to her, their full salvation through death).

Regardless of which one you reference, they are both stuck in perpetual adolescence much like several of Vermillion's other victims. Because of how she presents herself those who cannot sense the darkness in her may just see her as an oddly violent Star Chosen (if a Lander) or Magical Girl (if a Starcalled) type figure.

After all the different strange magics she's been doused by and experiences she has had. Magi Heart is closer than ever to being what she wanted in some ways, but it isn't so great in practice. Too late to back out now...

Background


When Terrasphere first began spreading around the Boston Massachusetts area, Wendy was a gentle if a bit simple-minded girl who even at 13 acted younger than she should. She simply refused to leave innocence behind while other girls began rushing towards adulthood. This didn't keep her from being a good student trying her best and reading tons of manga about her favorite subject: Mahou Shoujo, or Magical Girls for the uninitiated.

Playing Magi Heart, she tried hard daily to play the part of a heroine for the weak and to save the world by getting all the "meanies" to hug and become good people again. After all, it was just a game and surely Wendy could play out this fantasy while her real life was so dull.

We could go further with this but honestly, that is the past...

Magi had a series of very unfortunate events that would lead to corruption from the infamous mystery vampire, Vermillion Romanov. Leaving her having to serve her for years. After yet another incident she, as in Wendel, would be free of Vermillion's control. Possibly through being bathed in whatever Prism is, it had somehow greatly impacted both Vermillion's power over her and how Dissonance in her soul worked.

After a long trip dodging certain members of Tertoria's D.E.S. that wanted to exterminate her, Magi returns to Astorea with the experience, dissonance, and magically charged body far more like Magical Girl than she was when she started with just a wooden cupid's bow, a store-bought healers dress and a fantasy. Of course, she has a ton of issues now in exchange but she is forced to live with it at this point. Since there isn't any logging out for Magi anymore.

After reuniting with her long-time (and fellow UI-locked) friend @Seigi Ling Ling. Wendy and Wendel would once again experience a push of their abilities and bringing them into a strange state of coexistence. Now Wendy has become aware of her sleeping Astral power, while Wendel is aware of her Dissonance evolutions.

Still there is much the duo don't understand and they both share mirrored versions of the goal, personality and life so they now act as the Magical Girl of the player occupied lands. In contrast to the Star Chosen of Tertoria's D.E.S. organization.

With many encounters lost into her past and many more to come in her future, Magi Heart's story continues...

Magi Heart isn't the smartest and surely not intimidating-looking day to day. A girl that's basically been dead for years and her soul and body frozen through various enigmatic sources. The only way to describe Magi's build is simply MAGICAL. Everything from her everyday life to what goes on while she sleeps to her combat abilities and equipment. Magi has two personas, but either way, they will magic their way out of any situation.... if magic isn't enough... they will magic harder!

< Hope >​

The days of purchasing equipment that matches her Magical Girl roleplaying are behind her, thus her equipment is in itself her evocation. Her weapon armor accessories and so on all materialize through drawing out the exceedingly high mana surplus Magi possesses.

Estela Fantasia style is evoked when "Wendy's" persona is dominant. It is underdeveloped compared to Wendel's and focuses heavily on magic defense and healing support abilities. She is as always fully capable of spraying the field with magic however the destruction generated is to a far lesser extent.

Her weapon in this state is basically a bow made of magic. It can be fired as if it was a rapid energy cannon more than an arrow. It also has endless ammunition as long as Magi has EN available.

When pushed hard, Wendy's eye turns golden and her damage focus balances out with her defense and support. This is the power of an Astral Blessing acquired at Camp Hope IV that has yet to be fully understood.

< Dissonant >​

Gudrun Rising is "Wendel's evocation. The dissonant corruption status applied from Magi's encounter with VXIII years ago. Even though she has since broken free of the control she was once under. Wendel has now matured and evolved into her young 2nd Order Dissonance that resides in Magi Heart. If this status is ever fully realized and Wendy is fully absorbed into Wendel. Then her humanity will permanently be lost.

Wendel's weapon is similar to Wendy's. yet it is categorized as a staff rather than a bow. It's a curved design that makes it look more like a bow regardless. It does not use physical arrows nor has a string. When magic is gathered and fired, the staff acts as a guide for the wielder on where the focus should be.

Unlike Wendy's "Lesser" form, Wendel is capable of doing more unique approaches to combat, controlling parts of her magical garments as if they were alive. She can hurl or grasp enemies with the tendrils that expand outward from the back of her skirt and blend into her shadow.

When pushed hard, Wendel further accelerates her evolution, pushing even the fragments of Wendy to lose light. This is represented through the change of her left eye, Wendy's side to a faded blue.



Magic Form

The body of Magi has evolved over the years via Dissonance and can take a fair amount of damage without additional gear. Thus her physical defenses just come down to toughing it out and literally having to regenerate her flesh and limbs much like how a Dissonance would do so if allowed time. For better or worse she is still human so while her body continues to be regenerated to more of a shell-like state for Wendel's purposes, Magi can still be easily killed via a swift decapitation or a pierce through the heart.

The magically conjured equipment she wears mirrors those of Magical Girls in Real Life media. The color themes that garments manifest into are based on which sides of her soul, Wendy (light) or Wendel (dark) are dominant at the time. She has since used her experiences in Tertoria to adapt the look so that Landers will see her as their equivalent: Star Chosen.

Fate Thread
Fated red ribbons are a near-constant presence in Magi's life. Whether they actually lead anywhere is something else entirely leaving her to often just ignore them or go in literal circles following many. They are also always going to appear during major events even if it's not relevant to the event at all.... or is it? During Advanced Estella Fantasia this is even more prominent to the point of mixing into her actual attacks.

Star/Grudge Boost

Wendy and Wendel each have their own power source they draw from that run in parallel within Magi Heart. Wendy pushes herself into enhanced Estella Fantasia while Wendel can indulge in Dissonance to go temporarily enhanced Gudrun Rising. Using this has incredible strain on Magi's soul regardless of which is used but right now Dissonance is far easier to access on command and is also far closer to consuming her.

An unknown form of Dissonance that resembles tiny almost cute creatures that seem to have taken interest in Wendel and will appear from time to time, especially when she needs assistance since she has gained some form of enigmatic bond with them.

Field of the Soul

Lucid Return
A place within Magi's subconscious that can only be reached by dream or soul divers. It is filled with memories of her past and acts as an outermost layer to what soul divers would call a Soul Space. Magi herself ironically is only aware of this place when connected to another in a dream state. It is incredibly unstable and may be dangerous to a non-professional...

A unique ability card for your character tied to their Tags, Title, Oversoul, and the Starcalled Level. Built-in abilities are available regardless of OP. The rest become available as you store OP in battle.

Innate Passives:
Base abilities Magi Heart has gained through Starcalled progress.

Path of Hope: Bypass up to 3 damage panels or enemy retaliations per thread. This can be used on allies within range.
Dissonant Body+: Immunity to Fate Reading. For every ailment stack taken +2 to all rolls. At +20 consume all ailments and restore 100 HP resetting modifiers.. Only certain ailments apply.
Safety: Grants a shield that blocks 1d3 stacks of ailments from any ally a buff or heal is used on. Can be divided when aoe.
Dark Future: Expectation: At the start of every thread roll a 1d3. That will be the amount of ???? abilities revealed from enemies in the next battle. On a 3 reveal 1 ??? Boss ability. Also, for every ally that dies or nat1 rolled with Magi on the map, a counter goes up.
