Little Caenis Brother

This is a short continuation of what happened to Haito here.

Although time seemed to slow to a crawl when Haito broke off from Magi and stood in front of her with arms outstretched, readying himself to catch Mizuki who was barreling toward him at a dangerous speed, what happened next happened in the blink of an eye. Despite his position, Haito suddenly found himself shielded by Magi. The impact turned into a small explosion with dust and scorched dirt up in the air.

The young Sunclaw was burned, bad, but the healing that followed kept him alive even if he wished he was dead from the pain resulting from the massive damage he took.

Without any understanding of what had happened, Haito's cheeks were wet with tears as he shook Magi before draping her arm over his slim shoulder, calling for Seigi to help. He didn't see Mizuki after she crashed into them, but the wolves she summoned circled the two, keeping them safe.

"H-help!" he cried.

The body of Magi Heart had gone limp making it quite easy for Haito to take physical control of the situation. She was still conscious and could vaguely hear all of it. The slowly fading crackle of fire as the rain began to wash it away. She saw wolves but vaguely remembered them in the tunnel. She even vaguely heard the sound of the boy calling for help. That was unfortunate, she was right here.

Vaguely.

The word that could describe how she was experiencing everything right now. Magi without the dissonant body she had would have surely just turned to ash. Her weapon was gone, but her magic-imbued clothing till impressively intact and would likely just regenerate once her EN did but...

Her flesh, not so much. Being cut repeatedly by the red magia was one thing but this time she had rolled into and laid in a deep fryer. Her skin and flesh underneath had been completely removed in spots showing the bone. Magi was numb and nerve death preventing pain along with the dissonance working hard to maintain its body kept her going.

Vaguely.

A pink-haired head tilted upwards to look ahead. one ribbon had burnt away. The one that was not magic in nature... Seigi's. Magi stared out, no clear expression to show if Wendy had faded away again or if Wendel was simply exhausted as well.

Haito, the son of the chieftain of Sirosi Kotan, who volunteered to join the Sun Claw squad to escort Astor back to Vintergard and was subsequently pulled into the battle against the DEAD.naught was rescued by @Seigi Ling Ling and @Magi Heart.

Post-battle, the boy spent a couple of weeks at Camp Hope IV until a group of players @Ueno Mizuki @Yugam @Luthien @Tick Tock @Eva) volunteered to take him back to Sirosi Kotan.

During the trip, the group was attacked by a group of Ascent Reapers looking for a quick meal as they were migrating back to Tertoria. Thankfully, both Luthien and Eva were prepared to fend them off with their extended range, but not before the prehistoric avians ripped the food supplies off of the group.

As the group's designated chef, Yugam had Ueno Mizuki hunt down various ingredients that Haito confirmed as safe to make food with. The ingredients combined with his cookery resulted in surprisingly tasty food.

Haito meanwhile learned some storytelling techniques from Tick Tock during the trip, which he practiced by telling the group about the traditions and customs of his tribe at Mizuki's request. He recounted a big ceremony where one can receive Uene's blessing on New Year. From what he recounted, it seemed that the Sun Claw are particularly spiritual folks who take the honoring of Uene seriously, and why the differences between Sun Claw and Moon Fang's creed spark such bloodshed between them.

When the group arrived at Sirosi Kotan, they met Chieftain Antamyuk, who thanked them. When he heard about what happened to Sakkarin and his daughter, Haira, he seemed to accept their fate, mentioning that the way of the Sun Claw is that everyone, regardless of their status has to prove themselves and if Uene or the Kamuy deem them unworthy, then their decree must be accepted. Regardless, he invited them to stay at his estate for the remainder of the week where they were treated to local specialties.

Result

• Haito has been successfully escorted back to Sirosi Kotan.
• His father, Chieftan Antamyuk expressed his gratitude to Seigi, Magi, the escort party, and Astorea as a whole.
• Relation between Astorea and Sun Claws has strengthened.
