Chapter 1

Once upon a time, a wealthy man built a library. He did this out of love for books and a desire to see them protected from anything that might destroy them.

Yet the man was proud - he thought no other could be trusted with the books he so valued. His library grew each day, but none were allowed access to its contents. Every day cartloads of books would ride up to its doors, and every evening the carts would leave empty.

So it continued for years. In time, the man's library earned a dark name: the Paper Oubliette. A place where books went to be forgotten.

But then came the day when the doors ceased to open, even to the books brought to its doors, and the man was never seen again…

The Paper Oubliette

Chapter 1 - A Cold Reception

In the Hylands towers a marble gate, imposing and impassable. Many have tried to gain entry over the decades, but none have been successful. In time, people thought the task impossible and the secrets behind it forever lost.

Until now.

Following a book thief, the MIT have rediscovered the marble gate once more… and found its doors open.

Within those gates stretches shelves and stacks. A trove of books and knowledge, hidden and preserved for untold ages. Yet the library crawls with danger, protected by aggressive guardians and fraying enchantments. To claim the secrets within, a base of operations must be established.

And so you have come, answering the call for brave Travelers to step into the forgotten library…

Dungeon Master: Tarkya

Difficulty: Medium. Some dangers can be evaded, while others may become more dangerous without proper preparation
Party Size: Up to 8. Possibly more.
Mastery/Equipment Requirements: None, but certain Masteries will grant additional benefits.
Tags: Dungeon crawl, Exploration, Auto-monster
Content Warnings: Spiders and insects

Location: Hylands
Season: Summer
Weather: Cold

Objective
  • Explore and clear out the first floor of the Paper Oubliette.
  • Find and reclaim books and artifacts hidden in the library.
Posting Rules
  • 350 word limit. Cycles in the dungeon will be quick and posts should be focused on events. Communication is best kept to the Comms thread.
  • 24-36 hour post cycles. Missing a cycle has no consequences.
  • This DM Challenge will use the playsheet. Your playsheet is locked in with your first post in the thread.
  • A map will be used to represent the dungeon. Movement will be between "zones" of the map, with each zone given a label to be referenced in your post.
Tarkya’s Notes:
  • This challenge will use additional rules for navigating and scouting the dungeon. These rules will be listed in the first post of the challenge.
  • Your Masteries will give you access to additional special actions. You may choose one of these actions to bring into the dungeon.
  • You may choose to travel together, or split the party if you dare....

Content: Flashback Threads: Real Life: & Slice of Life
Party Size: 2-3 per thread.

So because of Magi's condition, experiences, and being UI locked, it's not possible to do these with her in TS2's setting. However, I'd like to spend some time taking advantage of her old personality more and playing Classic Magi (or more like Wendy since it's real life) more. So if anyone has a character in the Boston Massachusetts area and wants to play a younger version of their character for some slice-of-life antics let me know! Please note this must be set during TS1 so Wendy would be arguably 13 years old and she acts younger in many ways. So yeah, this isn't going to be intellectually stimulating, heh. If you want to do in-game that's ok as well but best played by those who remember what TS1 in-game was like lol.

Very willing to let someone else lead as well. I'm interested in playing og Magi occasionally more than having a good plan or anything tbh.

And writing Dark Magi is more interesting when I have practice and more Good Magi stuff to compare to.

TROUBLE ON THE INNFRONT

Outside of Hovelis, in the country of Falderen, a peculiar innkeep claims to be in his busiest season yet. The return of the Travelers, the Changing weather, and some kind of issue out by Lubeck, seems to be culminating in a particularly busy day for those traveling north who want to see the Harvest Moon. He already has trouble keeping up, and requests help from every faction with hands to offer to send him some help. Specifically, he doesn't 'need no damn monster-hunters or adventure-spinners'. He is looking for those with any interest or skill in Cooking, being Personable, Professional Entertainment, Resource Managing, Haggling, and maybe a Muscle to keep some of the rabble-rousers at Bay. Meet him on the morning of the moon with the others who have come to help, and be prepared to work your ass of from Mid day, to late into that following Evening.

This thread is a DM Challenge that will require a team of Five players to work together to meet the needs of the Inn's customer base. It will be chaotic, there will be plenty of mid-cycle events intent on simulating environment. While your life is not in any danger, the livelihood and reputation of this elder man is on the line. And he will reward effort and results accordingly. So try your best!

Interested? Sign up below.

Dungeon Master: Vesuvyan
Difficulty: Using the Vesuvyan Scale of 1-10. 1 Being Hypereasy, 10 being Extremely Difficult, this will be a 5.
Party Size: Minimum of Five, it can expand if a few more are interested. Though a second instance may be run if there is enough for a second team.
Objective: Survive 12 Cycles of absolute mayhem working for the Inn.
Posting Cycle: 24 Hour Updates. No penalty for missing a Cycle, other than leaving your team in the lurch.
Playsheets: Will be used, but only for Saves, Mastery and Expertise information. Actions will be freeform.
Content Warnings: Honestly, IDK. If you have any triggers or themes you don't want to see, DM me and I will adjust to accommodate <3
Stifling The Storm: Success here will contribute to the Progress bar see in Reaping Season 1, Stifling The Storm.

Good Luck, and have a happy REAPING SEASON!

What is Reaping Season?

Glad you asked! Reaping season is a multichapter content-quest that will span most of the upcoming Autumn season. This story will revolve around the Frontiers of Falderen, Astorea, and the fringes of Tertoria and the Tangleweaves, where the law isn't as strong, and the more dangerous parts of a world of Fantasy come creeping in. Specifically, Players will follow these regions through the start of harvest season, to the first snowfall. Over the course of the Season, players will participate in Collabrative Quests, Dungeon Delving, Boss Fights, and Puzzle solving which will fit into the falling story beats (in no specific order):
  • Assist Villages with the harvest and personal complications. (Stifling The Storm)
  • Help an Elderly man run an understaffed, over-visited Tavern. (Trouble On The Innfront)
  • Investigate and Scout out sightings of Demi-human creatures.
  • Root out Banditry and Robbery along the highways and roads.
  • Prepare Villages for defense against oncoming raids.
  • Fend off hungry Wyverns.
  • Build contraptions and equipment for a Siege.
  • Clear out nearby ruins to retrieve information or relics.
  • Prove thyself to Orcish Champions
  • Delve into the Caverns to put a stop to the bleeding once and for all.
  • ...And much much more!
Keeping those to small bullet points to avoid any spoilers for the story that I have planned ahead. If any, or all, of that interests you, make sure to keep an eye on this LFG Channel as new content is posted for these upcoming quests and DM Challenges!

Hello! This search is a simple one.

Content: So, @Ronja Bubblefoot and my character @Gwainedhel have a thread where our characters have found a wounded blue macaw at the outskirts of Astorea. Our characters have found it strange that a bird like that was fluttering around, and they decided it must either be a lost familiar or escape from some animal trafficking scheme.

Either way, they have ventured into the town and are seeking

a) for a healer at the Magical Institute to treat the macaw's most fatal wounds and
b) help from the Explorers' Guild to take it back home

This is a search for both roles to be filled, but for now the most urgent is the healer from the Magical Institute since that's where our characters are thinking to check it out first.

Here's the link of the thread: https://terrarp.com/threads/feather-fall.726/

Those interested may contact us either through this thread or forum/Discord DMs!

EDIT: Found the healer for the MIT, just missing the Explorer now!

Hello! It's Hyouka again. I have another LFG to go through these days.

For this one, I am seeking to have a roleplay thread that has some farming/city building elements.

See, I have always been a fan of videogames and anime like Mushoku Tensei or the Rune Factory series. There's simply something heartwarming for me to write about characters living normal-yet-exciting lives in another world. With the advent of the Reaping Season event, I really feel like dwelving into this thematic, and I'd really like to have any theme-related threads with any characters available.

To sum up, this thread would be for:

* Any fellow roleplayers that seek a companion for the Reaping Season prompts (which we can merrily discuss in private)
* Any roleplayer that also get a kick from these kind of topics and may have ideas in mind for their own plots
* This should be included in the above, but if your char owns a farm or settlement or something and would like an extra hand, come call me!

For lack of other characters, I offer you to play with @Gwainedhel, your run-the-mill Archer-with-Aeromancy forest elf with a subdued yet somewhat begrudging personality. Due to his fairly archetypical concept, I find that he would do with sowing and hunting-gathering tasks, but he is also in the process of discovering what kind of person he is so I am not against fitting him into less intuitive tasks. Aside from having the contrast of being a fiery stubborn Spaniard in real life (so expect a lot of gratuitious info about Spain and Barcelona), his character concept is fairly simple and I think it can make for a lot of fun synergies. These days I am curious to see how he would act with more dominant or even intense profiles, but really, any dynamics you can bring to the table can be open for discussion.

As always, my Discord is at your disposal!

Gameplay is easy, the stakes have never been lower, and we’re all just here to have fun.

----And let’s get this show on the road~

More information below!

RAJbh4i.png

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What is this?
OOC-
This is a social thread and mini-game hybrid intended for 3-10ish players or so. I, plu, will be your dealer playing Glamdark as we play a version of blackjack and roulette based on TS battle mechanics. This is also a beta test because the numbers are sure to be screwy. If it proves popular I may run it from time to time.
IC-
Glamdark must harvest negative energy to fuel her DARK MAGIKS. This is a safe way for her to do so as she greedily tries to make a buck and inevitably goes broke. Poor Glamdark. Nobody will be harmed in the process or even notice what's going on, unless you want to know whats going on, but the game is going to continue regardless. Player health is converted into casino chips, going bust gives you a light hangover. Cashing out gives you, well, cash and makes poor Glamdark cry.
The setting is a mysterious parlor in Astorea known as The Dark Parlor. Your character probably saw a crappy flyer like the shutter stock one above.
Rules (Rough Draft)
Goal: Gain as many points as you can without busting. Gain points by doing damage.
Dealer Hp bar = 75-150 per player
Rolling a 1 = auto bust (you lose) / 100 = jackpot (critical effects)
Player hp is base amount x 5 (HP = 0 is a bust, you're out)
Retal Roulette damage:
Players rolls are assigned to a roulette with a slot for each player total.
Players roll 1d(players) to determine what retaliation they receive.
Saves: Player may roll each of their saves once per game to reduce damage.
Actions allowed:
All attacks (burst & steady: more 1s than 20s constitutes a bust)
Heals and Recuperate (effects doubled)
Revive (works on self, once per game)
Armor Actions (once per game)
*Each action has a 1-turn cd. You cannot use the same action back to back.
Number of Rounds per Game:
When one player is left standing or when dealer hp is exhausted.
Basic Player Turn Flow:
1) Roll damage action of your choice
2) Roll retal roulette
3) Choose whether to use a Save.
Unfolding the Unknown
HEROIC TALES: GAZE OF ETERNITY
In a secluded area between Western and Eastern Brisshal, there is an entrance for what it seems to be a gigantic labyrinth, made out of a complex of tunnels. Since it has been discovered, the Explorer's League has been working relentlessly on mapping it out, while the Adventurer's Guild has been raiding it constantly in order to loot expensive and powerful artifacts.
The ambitious curiosity and greedy from the two factions soon proved to be too much, when one week, many of those who ventured into the labyrinth never came out alive...
Now, the Adventurer's Guild and the Explorer's League wish to find out about their member's whereabouts and what exactly has made them never come back.
OOC Information
  • Up to 6 players.
  • Genre: Action, Combat, Encounter.
  • Setting: Medium Difficulty, Grid will be used.
  • Homebrew: My homebrew will be available for usage. Its use isn't obligatory, and I recommend you write at the start of your post if you will be using it. The only obligatory part is the Taunt action.
  • This Challenge will be using Playtest Packet 1.1e, with the exception of the Taunt, unless Asch posts an official patch.
  • Items acquired from Vesuvyan and Tarkya's challenges are going to be accepted in this challenge.
Come welcome @FORTUNE into the world of Terrasphere! She's never played a game (besides maybe Mario Kart) a day in her life, but she is confident in her abilities. Just what are those? Find out for yourself.
I've listed a couple prompts below, but if you have your own idea, or something else you'd like to pursue for your character and just need a writing partner, feel free to suggest it below! Looking forward to writing with y'all (again. You can't get rid of me. Lookin' at you @Dez ).
Once Upon a Midnight Dreary...
...you stumbled into a tavern. Nothing's all that peculiar about it, but you notice a woman you haven't seen before sitting at a round table with several others, all holding cards, laughing and drinking together. It looks like the woman's about to lose the last of her coin as the cards are shown, but if you've got a keen eye, you might've noticed her reach down and swap a card in her hand.
Or Maybe...
You're one of the other gamblers. Do you catch her in the act? Call her out? Or maybe you approach her afterwards. Or if you're feeling particularly nice, maybe you just let it slide. It's all just fake virtual currency anyways, so who cares? Either way, talk to her afterwards, and see what she might have to say.
A Stroke of Fortune
A little tit for tat, one might say. Sure there probably isn't much that a newbie player could offer more seasoned players, but who knows! She might just surprise you. Or maybe you're a freshly called Traveler as well in need of some help or a companion. Good thing you just ran into this woman on the street!
What You're Owed
Just hope she likes you enough to not try and rob you blind. Maybe she picked your pocket after you (it was definitely your fault) bumped into her, or maybe she duped you into helping her out with something unexpected and left you high and dry. If you want what you're owed, you'll have to find her first.
@RizuChan playing @Luthien and @PandaIsInSpace playing @Yugam have agreed to testing Vesuvyan's Fantasy Limit system detailed in my DM Hub ( https://terrarp.com/threads/dm-hub-vesuvyans-bird-cages.1272/ ). To do so, and make things simple and easy, they will need to agree to turning the thread Six Shooter ( https://terrarp.com/threads/reaping-season-i-six-shooter.1360/ ) into a mini DM Challenge comprising of just the two of them. This LFG is to record their consent to such an action, as we all as mark them as participating in a DM Challenge.
All that is necessary is that the two Participant Character accounts post below with some form of Confirmation.
*This is part of Reaping Season
**This is a Private Sign up, as opposed to an LFG, know that additional comments will not place you as part of this thread without the expression permission of those who the thread belongs to @RizuChan and @PandaIsInSpace .
***Anyone is free to request similar treatment from me as the DM and owner of Reaping Season and the Fantasy Limit system. DM @Vesuvyan here on site, or on the Discord for more information.
See Astorean Night: Eclaire, one of, if not the most famous secretive underground taverns in Finnweald, behind which closed doors is an ultra-rare card Steph has been looking to collect for her Gacha Mania deck. Supposedly, this tavern was formerly a base of operations for the Kingsmen established before the Astorean Civil War and the mysterious owner is rumored to be one of these Kingsmen operatives, who had turned his former occupation into a bustling tavern network spanning across Astorea and Falderen.
Tried as she might, the redhead could not get access to the place to collect her loot. However, after much begging and grovelling, the owner proposed to her that if she could gather a group of people who would pass his dance challenge, he would grant them all access for a single night.
Steph is looking to form a dance troupe to tackle the challenge and break the doors into the backwater haven. Who's in?
This is a smaller-grouped thread where the characters can be silly as a dance troupe. We'll be performing (P4) Specialist!
Also, this is not a sign-up thread, just checking what kind of characters are interested in this lil thing.
You have been scouted by the darling of the Hong Kong indie film industry, Wei Kao-Tuo, to star in his latest project, Omerta, a high-stakes thriller starring the escapades of the criminal youth in Kowloon Tong as they carve, both literally and figuratively, a place for themselves in the underground.
Now, after three months on and off of filming, the movie is finally ready, and the first midnight showing is here! Naturally you, and your fellow actors have been invited, and with trepidation with regards to those final results...you watch as the screen counts down.
So ye, this is my justification for a crime thriller RL thread set in, as you'd expect, Hong Kong. The thread will basically be roleplaying out dramatic scenes from an indie action flick, with suitably sketchy circumstances adjudicated by a 2d6. Nai, of course, will be in this, but I'm hoping for a handful of others too, so we can get some real shenanigans going here. Don't worry if your character doesn't live in China. Wei Kao-Tuo is an eccentric and cares little for past experiences when he's pulling people into his projects. So long as you don't mind living in a hotel for three months and are willing to learn some martial arts, you're good!
As for the specific scenes themselves, I was thinking of one scene per thread participant, but that's more of a flexible thing.
Hello friends, I'm looking for connections and RPs for this sword-boyo. Peruse the leads below and see if any of them appeal to you. I'll try to RP with as many people as possible, aiming to finish threads before they get too long! Hit me up here if any of these strike your fancies.
Since Kiri already has a few connections established, those get priority, sorry!
In-game Connections
  • First Login. Dude logs in for the first time and is coming down to Brisshals like any other Starcalled. However, he didn't know that there was some magical disturbance in the air from the robomama incident so he's been displaced all the way to Tertoria and must walk back to the beginners' area (Brisshal). This will be a multi-thread adventure chronicling Kirios' walk. The thread sequence is: Tertoria, Astorea, Falderen, with maybe 2 threads each.
Real Life
  • MIT. Are you as smart as Kiriya and happened to have graduated from MIT or attended it while he was there? We can meet up and flesh out some school relationship.
  • Nexus. Do you work for Nexus Corp? If so, we're actually co-workers, how about some fun at the office? Maybe it's Kiriya's first day at HQ.
  • VRS. Do you work for VRS? What a coincidence, Kiriya kind of does too, but you're not supposed to know what unless you're close to Chelsea.
  • Cindr. Do you use this cool, underground dating app? How it works is every time you press [ Play ], you are matched with a stranger who fits your chosen preferences. You then have a full minute to chat and appeal to them before the app reveals the swiping options. Up means turning up the heat, which means you dislike the person. Down means cooling the connection, which allows you to meet up in real life. The kicker about this app is that you are literally playing with fire. Each time someone turns up your heat, the app will overclock your phone, and when the heat is too high, it will brick your phone. You can't uninstall it through conventional methods either, hence why it's an underground app. This connection would be done via comms.
The Labyrinth
After being convinced, coerced, bribed, or dragged along on an adventure, it is not uncommon for one to find themselves in a situation that they neither desired to be in nor find pleasant. In fact, some would argue the entire concept of adventuring is to find those places that others would never set foot into - and that you learn never to return to, again.
The Labyrinth is just such a place; a place lost to the essence of time, a place where adventurers do not return to - should they ever find their way out. The few stories, myths really, that make their way out of such a place are…well, filled with gaps. Information either forgotten, left out, or willingly ignored.
And as you find yourself before the entrance to such a place…what choice do you have? Go forth and determine if you have the courage to escape, or flee before the chance comes upon you to find out…
Basic Information for Players
In this adventure, players will find themselves within the area known as The Labyrinth - a place that exists somewhere deep within the forest of Brisshal, although how exactly you found it none can say. Your only purpose, your only drive, is to get out. To find a way to freedom…if you can.
This challenge will be a standalone piece, designed to test both the Homebrew Content found outlined below, as well as to test reception to my own style of story-telling. There won't be a surprise test at the end, but players are encouraged to provide feedback!
  • Start Date: This challenge will look at starting towards the middle of November, if not sooner.
  • Group Count: 2-6 players
  • Genre: Action, adventure, exploration, skill-testing/thought-provoking
  • Difficulty: Easy, comparative. Don't expect a walk in the park, but it's not going to overtly dangerous if you're careful/smart.
  • Homebrew Content: At this time only Homebrew Content from Shadow Wolf's Lair will be included for playtesting reasons.
  • Mapping: Grid mapping will be used for this experience, where applicable.
  • Cycle Updates: Cycles will be updated within 24-48 hours, to ensure continued rolling of the event. If you are unable to maintain these times, some exceptions may be made - however if you are concerned about an overall inability, I would ask you to consider joining. Updates will not span beyond 48 hours, excluding emergency situations.
Lady N Questline: Mysteries of the N-Suit 1
Lost Carrier
Content: Personal Quest for @Lady N
Party Size: 3-4 (Including Lady N)
During her time in Terrasphere. Chelsea had discovered a bracelet that when worn grants her a mechanized battle suit that grants many Magia-like abilities unto her. The bracelet has since fused to her arm. However, Chelsea never thought much of it since it proved useful and better than having to create her own machines using a scarce availability of parts.
That was until recently.
During Red Fever, Chelsea, like most others, succumbed to the demonic plague that spread through Isulus. This was resolved through the MIT's Serenity Mist and the destruction of the demon corpse. However, the Nexon's gear was most definitely not ok. Somehow downloading and keeping the Joy and emotional overtune that was brought on by fever. Now whenever she enters a heightened battle situation while using her gear, she loses control and becomes a laughing "stupid" (obviously a fate worse than death).
After Camp Hope, Chelsea learned that enemy Magia could assimilate and fuse themselves to the bodies (heads specifically) of victims. This has once again fueled her to discover how her suit truly works and ways to fix the Emotional Instability and Core Replacement errors she gets when using it.
With all this in mind, we come to the present...
Chelsea has learned that a broken-down Magia Carrier exists out there and she seeks to break into it and see what she can find. You, if you join this thread, are also interested in what this transport has to offer. Or perhaps you have other reasons? Regardless the first of my promised Lady N magitech dungeons is here!
How This Works
This is a off DM dungeon questline that Lady N (Chelsea R. Nexon) is undertaking over the next season or two of Terrasphere. In this case, Off DM means there is no loot, no death, and all mechanics can just be ignored for freeform if you want! Think of it like a collaborative ad-libbing session with some guidance from the thread starter (for this first go, it'll be me).
Basic Rules;
  • Use and link a playsheet.
  • You may only move one zone at a time and cannot move diagonally.If moving through a already explored zone, you may add 1 to your move,
  • You can use one action and one bonus action per turn.
  • We will fully use whatever the newest playtest is.
  • For each zone entered besides the first and last zone, someone other than @Lady N can decide the event and mechanic that occurs there (they add it to their post but do not have to be in that zone themselves!). If no one is willing, then a DM spice request will be made for that zone and if not taken within 24 hours of the request, I will take over. For future dungeons in this questline, others may choose to be the thread starter and they will be the ones to set the first and last.
  • This notice will be added to the thread when it's up as a reminder.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Because of this being experimental and possibly being posted up after the next part of the Mega Patch (debating whether to wait for it or not). It's recommended that only those who are comfortable with this, pass the "DM buck around" concept join. Otherwise, we'll end up overusing DM Spice lol. The difficulty for this should be on the lower side of Medium but really it's up to who's in charge at the time!
Sorry new members this isn't really a good one for you to join.
Please wait for a better opportunity!
You know when they said Dark Magic could explode in your face if you use it recklessly? Guess who won the lottery! That's right, @Tick Tock. Come and meet the Magia that walks like a puppet and has this weird spider & time motiff to her. She don't bite, but she may ask your height and weight for good measure. You can find out why.
I made a series of prompts you can tackle, expand on, or build your own if there's something specific you wish to explore that I can assist with, a certain aspect you want to dig in for your character, or simply to promote more chaos to the one that will certainly happen. These should give you a fair idea of who you dealing with.
The Third Seat!
What's best than taking a cup of tea with your Tockest twin? That's right, more people to share some tea and chit chat with!
Sure sure, Tick's in the middle of a crystalized wasteland full of spooky ghosts, nasty wolves and other halloween decorations. Tock calls this EXTREME TEA TIME! for a reason, the fanciest way to live your best life while also enjoyning some downtimes and complications. But we are missing a third person who conveniently is missing. Good thing there's still an empty spot for Tick's EXTREME TEA TIME.
P.D: Tick's not responsible for any serious harm that may come from Zalra's wildlife, the tea or even the not so reliable plastic table. That's why this is extreme! But EXTREME can happen anywhere. Even behind the cozy but not so warm walls of a well protected city.
The Evil Impersonator
Okay so let's imagine this- And Tick doesn't say it will happen, this is just pure funsies as a chit chat topic: You are walking happily across the streets with a loot of crowded mean people who look like they gonna rob you. And then, well, someone pickpockets you and runs away! Well it's obviously your fault for carrying such a nice pocket watch that you conveniently found whhere Tick conveniently left it some minutes ago... But that has nothing to do with this because this is just a made up scenario mind you.
But you notice who this pesky rat is: This good looking, beautiful white-haired queen with refined puppetry skills maneuvering across the streets with grace never ever seen before in someone pulling from the strings of her own limbs! And you decide to pursue her. Maybe it was love at first sight, or maybe you just wanted your watch back! But then you lose sight of her, until you find her, and she tells you that you got the wrong person, it must be The Evil Impersonator people keep talking about! Would you believe her if she offers to help you get your stuff back?
Recollection: robo-edition
Tick's request: Help Tick.
Very simple right? We maaaybe go near a very dangerous area, but Tock has faith in your abilities to smash stuff and break stuff and explode stuff. Just don't break too hard, we need robo-parts! And Tick Tock's willing to pay for these. I need spares for myself, and maybe get something tasteful so Tick can, you know, taste food. Why, Tick's not gonna explain how that all works, it's too complicated and you wouldn't understand. Magia stuff!
We take this nice little hint I heard from some not-so-nice travelers and players who got attacked by vengeful walking pieces of junk on a side road. Something about kidnapping people or something like that, nasty stuff, but very good for us!
Tick Tock's Specialized Magia Repairing Services: TTSMRS!
That's a very long title- Oh hey new customer! welcome to... TTSMRS. I mean, this shop has a name but Tick just created a prompt for you that's related to Magias, so why should I tell you everything about the shop and not about the cool stuff I can do to you instead?
Like for example... Fix you, or add a rocket launcher into your arm, maybe you just want a launcher but for teddy bears, Tick's pretty good at it. I mean, look at Tick, you can see the fruits of Tock's labor. Good thing your limbs didn't explode for overusing tabboo magics, because Tick can fix that too.
And Tick means, Tock can also give you some replacements but that's some nasty stuff to ask for if you ain't a Magia. What you want a metal arm for when you got fleshy noodle arms already?!
THE STELLAR REACTOR
Dance your encore with grace
The stars will witness your empyreal ballet
A beam of light pierces the earth, a blinding spire reaching towards the heavens. In its wake is left a tunnel of melted glass, leading deep below the earth. A path leads to an empty, forgotten city built around a fallen star. Encaged, enraged, it burns away at its prison, and every day it grows stronger. Before its blinding light stone bleaches, flesh evaporates, and all things become ash.
It is not enough to seal it away. Its anger has grown too great to be contained, its bindings all but spent. If the world is to be spared its searing light, it must be released... and then extinguished forevermore.
Oh, brilliant Starcalled, whose souls shine with the light of the heavens...
Do you have the strength to extinguish the light from whence you came?
The Stellar Reactor is a high-difficulty boss battle with moderate mechanical focus. This challenge will not be adjusted for lower-level characters - you should have at least one A rank Mastery and nothing below B. Applicants that do not fit these criteria will be politely rejected.
Death is enabled. One the team is assembled I'll do my final adjustments, but participate at your own risk.
This challenge will use Playtest Packet 2. There will be SP and movement-based mechanics. Furthermore, certain Masteries will be more or less effective. You can probably guess these based on what you're fighting.
This challenge will begin after current story events are completed.
Player Count: Up to 6
Difficulty: Deadly
Hey everyone, trying to gauge interest to create a group of villains. The villains wouldn't be tied to any faction and wouldn't be allowed to be in any faction, but would act sort of like pirates with Astoria being their home base. The basic idea is it would be a bunch of people who don't like their RL lives and prefer the one in Terrasphere where they can be who they think they should.
The groups ultimate goal is gain power, influence, riches through any means necessary so that they can eventually UI lock themselves and live like kings. Basically, they want to retire from the real world and live like gods in the Terrasphere world. To accomplish this, they use aggressive and villainous methods to amass what they need. Things like theft, framing rival groups, infiltrating other organizations (not MIT, Whistles, or Lions), creating spy networks, and basically just causing havoc across Terrasphere is on the table.
Because the group wants to "retire" in Astoria they want to make sure they have a comfy landing pad. As such, the group wouldn't do anything to anger or hurt Astoria or its ties, in fact the group actively protects Astoria so they can have a nice place to "retire" after amassing what they need.
Example threads might be infiltrating a bandit group and taking them over to spread the group's influence. Robbing aristocrats to line the group's pockets. Stealing a powerful artifact from a merchant associated with Endra's Favor and frame the Aristocrata for it. Blackmailing an aristocrat into working for the group. Kidnapping persons of interest for interrogation purposes. Using terrorist tactics against enemies of Astoria.
Though the group is loyal to Astoria, they're loyal to the country not a particular individual or group. Other than that, the only other loyalties within the group are to each other.
Example character: Alecto hates her RL and due to her superiority-complex believes that she deserves more than her lot in the real world. As such she joins the group to prove she's the best and plans to live like she believes she was always meant to, as a shadowy God-Queen in the Terrasphere world.
Throne
“The seat upon which rulers sit”
What is it?
A group of villains in the Terrasphere world. This shadowy group uses nefarious tactics to carry out its plans and ultimate goals. Inspiration for this group is drawn from villain groups across pop culture including The League of Villains from My Hero Academia, The Suicide Squad from DC comics and films, and The Legion of Doom from DC comics.
This group was originally formed by Alecto to assist her in creating a position within the world that she believes she deserves.
What are the group’s goals?
Out of Character Purpose and Goals:
  1. This group seeks to allow Terrasphere members to roleplay life as a villain working with other villains in the Terrasphere world.
  2. This group exists to explore what would make a person in real life a villain in an online VR game.
  3. This group seeks to explore how a villain group would operate within the TS universe, and how the group would affect the plot lines, storylines, and characters of the TS universe.
In Character Group Main Goal: To eventually take over and rule the world of Terrasphere from the shadows thereby “winning” Terrasphere. Out of character, this is not actually possible within the world and will never come to fruition. This main goal simply serves as the driving force for the group’s members and they will pursue this goal as long as the site exists.
In Character sub-goals: These goals may possibly come to fruition and may change as the group evolves and opportunities arise. Basically, these goals will be things the group decides are necessary or helpful to fulfilling the group's ultimate goal of domination. As time goes on, the group may choose to abandon or add goals.
  1. Either destroying or taking control of the Aristocrata
    1. Info about Aristocrata can be found here.
    2. In character: By taking control of the Aristocrata, the group could use their funds, contacts, and spy networks to further their own goals. Bringing Aristocrata under the groups banner’s would be massive and a huge step towards the group’s ultimate goal.
    3. OOC: Taking on Aristocrata opens the door to cloak and dagger/shadow war threads that the group could take part in. It also gives the group a main adversary.
  2. Creating/Stealing/Hoarding items of power.
    1. Collecting or creating artifacts or items of power would be helpful as it would allow the group to better defend themselves and their assets. Is your character someone that got kicked out of MIT for creating a zombie plague or WMD? Welcome to the club.
  3. Gaining funds.
    1. This could be from legitimate, illegitimate, or gray area means. Lining the group’s pockets is important as taking over the world is expensive, and the more funding the group has the more the group can do, manipulate, and control.
  4. Recruiting Faerin NPCs
    1. As Faerin are typically ostracized by society bringing them to the group’s side would be beneficial. As the race is known for their magical abilities, they could prove powerful allies to the group in exchange for better social standing in a villain-run world.
In-Character Personal Goals:
  1. Alecto’s goal - To create an organization of like-minded individuals that seek to amass as much funding and power as possible. Once Alecto believes herself to be of such unfathomable wealth and power that she is untouchable by any force: military, economic, or otherwise, she plans to UI lock herself within the world to live like a shadowy God-Empress manipulating the world from behind the scenes. Once she reaches this goal, she will consider herself the “winner” of Terrasphere.
  2. Your character’s goal -
    1. Share in Alecto’s plan - If Alecto’s idea sounds good to your character, feel free to have the same reason for joining: basically building the life you always wanted in Terrasphere, then UI locking yourself into the life of your dreams.
    2. Freedom to be yourself or who you want to be - If your character wants an outlet to utilize their full abilities without having to listen to what officials or laws say, this is the place to find like-minded allies.
    3. Get ahead by any means necessary - If your character wants to lie, cheat, and steal their way to the top, this group will actively help and welcome that. The stronger the individual becomes, the stronger the group becomes as a whole.
    4. Destruction - If your character simply wants to cause mayhem and destruction this group allows a place for that with some caveats (more on that below).
    5. Whatever you want - Your reason for joining and working with the group can be something completely unique to your character as long as it doesn’t break any of the rules.
Out of character, How does the group work?
To fit into the Terrasphere world, the group and its members must follow the rules and commandments below. The reason for this is so that this group makes sense within the Terrasphere world and can act within storylines and plot lines created within the world.
These rules are NON-NEGOTIABLE. If you cannot abide by these rules or your character breaks these rules in any fashion, you will be OOC removed from the group. Though this may sound harsh, this group seeks to be a fun place to explore villainous actions and storylines. This group WAS NOT created to grief other players or ruin the fun of other players.
OOC Rules:
GOLDEN RULE: HAVE FUN, BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF OTHERS’ FUN.
  1. Members cannot and will not physically antagonize other players.
    1. There is no PVP on this site so actions that would create a PVP situation should not be pursued.
      1. Example: My character is a sociopathic serial killer. They are grouped with other player characters for a mission. Your character must not openly begin murdering people while the group watches. This would force other characters to react to yours and debase the thread.
      2. But what if it's out of character for me not to kill people?
        1. If you’re in a group with others, your character can kill people but they should do it stealthily where they won’t be seen or caught, and only if killing the character would not debase or ruin the thread. If the character you created is not capable of holding back, they are not welcome in this group.
        2. In character, a person that kills everyone around them with little thought for repercussions would put the group in danger as a whole and would not be welcome within the group.
  2. Members will do nothing to actively harm Astorea or her diplomatic ties in any way, shape, or form.
    1. OOC: Becoming an enemy of Astorea would naturally lock the group out of any site-wide events such as raids or storylines. Being locked out of these threads would lead to members not being able to collect fun items, or be a part of major storylines, and would effectively write the group and all its members out of the site’s story and history.
    2. In character: The group uses Astorea as a sanctum and home. They want to rule the world, not a pile of rubble so attacking Astorea would be the same as them destroying their own base of operations.
  3. The group will defend Astorea (though they do not swear loyalty or fealty to any individual or group within Astorea)
    1. In character: The reasoning for this is the same as above. Astorea is the group’s home base and as such, they defend it because by defending Astorea, they’re defending their own assets.
    2. Out of Character: Protecting Astorea ensures that group members always have a reason to be in story and thread raids.
  4. Infiltration of the group or of any player faction is banned unless cleared with site leadership (GM, etc.).
    1. The reasoning for this is that acting as though you’re “infiltrating” one of these groups is not fun for the other members of that faction. This breaks the golden rule.
    2. Likewise, playing as a “good guy” infiltrating this group is banned as it isn’t fun for this group's members.
    3. The infiltration or attempted infiltration of non-player factions will be welcomed (though whether or not it stands as cannon is up to the site’s management to decide).
  5. The group is loyal to each other.
    1. Members of the group will not attempt to backstab or ruin other group members' plans as this wouldn’t be fun for the opposing player.
    2. If a member’s plans go against any of the rules, that player's posts will simply be ignored and they will be removed front he group.
    3. If a member plans to betray the group in any way they will be removed and any actions they take will be ignored.
In Character, how does the group work?
Every villain in the group has a unique identity with their own unique goals. The purpose of the villains being in the group is that as a group, each villain can rely on the other group members to help them achieve their individual goals.
Example:
Lex Luthor wants to become a powerful aristocrat.
Magneto wants to create an area where his mutants can live free of discrimination.
The Joker wants to see how big of an explosion he can make.
Magneto gets his mutants to help vote Lex into power. Once in power, Lex makes things better for the mutants by designating an area where they have full political control. The area is infested with monsters which the Joker happily blows to hell because that’s what he wanted to do anyway. Everyone’s happy, everyone has what they want. Now, they all kick back gains to further the group.
Magneto’s new area becomes a political safe haven for members of the group.
Lex Luthor uses his power to push the group’s control politically and install puppets in the government.
The Joker begins devising ways to make even bigger explosions.
The group is stronger as a whole because of everyone's contributions.
Interested?
If this interests you and you’re okay following the rules, sign up below! I’ll give a decent amount of time for people to mull it over, make a new character, or think things through after which I’ll do an initiation/meet and greet thread.
Christmas is fast approaching, and the snow is already falling. NPCs might just be lines of code, but that doesn't make it any easier to see their sad, hopeful eyes look to the ground when they're constantly reminded that their holiday season isn't full of cheer.
Zelrius, being the easily emotionally manipulated sob that he is, will not stand for this. That's why, this Holiday season, he is looking for help to go down to the Sighing Winds orphanage in Stokbon, and help a dozen or so Orphans (and their caretakers) spread some holiday cheer.
Content: In this thread, the group will engage in everything with bringing the children some of that magic of this time of year. Upto and including;
  • Put up Holiday Decorations all over the building, including a tree
  • Engage in minigames to entertain the children
  • Help prepare Holiday dinner
  • Present the children with specialized gifts so that they can remember us by
  • ...and probably more as I think of it!
Party Size: 3-6, Maybe more depending on interest.
Think of this as a mini challenge where we can all collaborate to make a cute little story of our characters coming together with these kids this Wintersday Season! All you need to do is post a lil character quote below to show interest and I will make the thread in about 3-7 days. Depending on how long it takes sign ups to fill up!
Merry Christmas
And Happy Reaping Season
