Athena let out a shuddering breath, more from the exertion than what she had actually done. She knew it was bad but she didn't really feel one way or the other about it. She knew that she should but she just didn't. The scumbag had gotten what he deserved, and she was happy to dish it out. He had basically asked for it demeaning her goddess and herself.

The woman leaned down, ripping the dagger out of the corpses side and spraying even more blood onto the ground. Stony faced, she held the dagger out handle first to Caelia.

She seemed significantly more grounded than normal, motioning with her bloodstained sword towards the cowering bandits.

Sometimes justice is bloody. It doesnt have to be. Now those of you who can stand, help those who can't. We're returning these god damn boxes to their owners.

She paused, letting out a long breathy sigh and letting her shoulders drop a little with exhaustion. She suddenly seemed a lot smaller.
Endra is merciful. Once we return to town your wounds will be addressed and then we can figure out what to do with you.

Athena reached out a bloody hand to Caelia to shake with an overly innocent expression gracing her lips. The blood speckles on her face shimmered in the afternoon light, contrasting sharply with her pale skin.

Reliable as usual. I am very thankful to have had your company. That Bandit certainly had an unfortunate accident falling over like that.

Her eyes flicked over to the pulpy mess where the bandit leaders head used to be before quickly flicking back to Caelia.

Caelia continued to breathe slowly, calming herself even further. The blackness left her hair, returning it to the gentle snow white. Her eyes returned to normal, and she smiled gently as Athena handed her the blade back. She flipped it in her hand for a moment before dismissing it. Blood pooled on the ground as the weapon was dismissed. She took Athena's hand to shake, smiling despite the blood smeared across her face and clothes.

He certainly had a...bad accident. I'll help you get these gentlemen back to the town, as well as their wares. We can borrow their carts to transport things and injured individuals back.

She gave a look towards the injured but still living bandits, her eyes narrowing slightly.

What sort of justice will Endra have for them?

The woman took a deep breath, her nostrils flaring slightly as she let it out in a very long and tension filled sigh. She motioned to the few bandits who could actually move to start setting the carts up. They kept glancing from Athena, to the horses, and then back to the remains of their leader. After a few moments they timidly got to hooking the horses up to the carts, deciding not to risk the wrath of priestess.

In order to pay for the pain they've caused, sentencing to manual labor for the benefit of the town they stole from.

There seemed to be a collective sigh of relief from the prisoners.

I think that is more than fair, although I think we ought to mark them somehow as well... Perhaps we can take their pinky and ring fingers? Taking an entire hand is the usual mark but that's a little harsh.

With some effort Athena helped the bandit with the slashed legs up, her arm supporting the majority of his weight. The man seemed extremely unhappy to be so close to her, but wisely didn't say anything as she helped him to the cart.

At the end of the day we should leave it up to the townsfolk. Now, I think the two of us deserve a little rest.

Caelia watched with little sympathy as the men limped and hobbled their way onto the cart. She shrugged slightly as Athena mused about the punishment the bandits might face, glancing towards the priestess as she helped one of said bandits onto the cart.

I leave the judgement to you and your deity, Athena. It's not my realm of expertise.

She sighed, heading towards the horses and giving one a pat.

We'll rest once these are taken care of. I can lead the horses, if you want to walk behind and make sure no one decides to jump off the bandwagon, hm?

She waited for Athena's answer before taking the reins of the first horse, starting to lead it back towards town.
