Vina was glad that Ruby was enjoying herself, the playful vixen laughing as she saw how her redheaded friend eagerly spun and swirled in the air, clearly making the most of this opportunity to experience a nearly weightless flight, unbound by either gravity or the ground.

However, Fina's response worried her. While Vina may appear carefree and overly playful on the outside she wouldn't ever hurt her friends (or others) if she could avoid it, and she certainly wasn't going to drop them. But the arms master was clearly a combination of queasy and nervous at the moment.

Since it was her own magic it was a simple matter for Vina to float towards her lavender-haired friend, gently wrapping her arms around Fina and embracing her softly.

I've got you~

Vina would have let all three of them enjoy floating through the sky for a bit longer, but with Fina clearly uncomfortable the druidess guided the winds to slowly carry them towards a small clearing, the jungle's trees giving away to a patch of grass and many ferns.

Once they were close to the ground Vina would give the other two some time to orient themselves before ending the spell, their feet already brushing the undergrowth before the winds dispersed. Vina also let go of Fina, stepping back to spread her arms.

And here we are~ We hope you'll make use of our services again~

"Wha-" Fina's clenched teeth and jaw that came along with the flailing relaxed somewhat, although the fact that the comfort that arrived was in the form of still a very much naked Vina did not allow her racing heart to relax at all. As far as accurately representing a cat went, Ruby was doing much better, it seemed.

As they finally touched down a while later, Fina let out a sigh as she looked over the other two."I just... prefer having actual control over my body." With that excuse out of the way, she looked around. It seemed that they landed in a pretty safe place, but she didn't immediately spot anything bird-related. And when they were flying, she was a bit too preoccupied with other thoughts to be actively paying attention to whether there were any obvious signs or not.

"In general, if we're tracking something that mostly exists in the sky, do we have any hope of finding tracks here on the ground?" Unless they would get lucky with a trail of golden feathers, but as far as she knew, birds didn't actually lose their feathers all that often.

Ruby chuckled at @Fina Drago's reaction to @Vina Skysong's approach, and as soon as they were hovering near the ground, the crimson cat didn't take long to get herself ready to land once again. "That was amazing, Vina, I will sure want to try again. Thank you." Ruby smiled to the vixen. "I will pretend I'm having trouble next time though, it seems like the benefits are wonderful." She teased while feigning some jealousy, looking at Fina with a mischievous grin.

But her mischievous expression soon turned a bit more serene, and she nodded in agreement with her friend. "We can't hope much, but the truth is that we will be doing things a little differently." Ruby suggested, soon showing the totem, that she had conveniently stored somewhere in her swimsuit.

"Who we will be trying to find are the owners of this. If we find them, there is some chance of finding the bird, or at least we may find some clues... Or if this isn't fruitful at all... I mean, we would need to report about natives anyway, so it is a job done." Ruby considered it to be a win-win situation.

It was flawless.

Vina rolled her eyes at Ruby's gentle teasing but laughed softly.

You don't have to fake anything for those benefits, but maybe not right now. (She pointed at the sky.) We've got more important things to take care of, don't we? Even if that's hard to believe~

She turned towards Fina. The lavender-haired feline clearly was still uncomfortable, but Vina was determined to do right by her friend and make her feel, if not comfortable, at least taken seriously by the mischievous vixen.

That's fair. Next time I'll make sure to give you the flight spell which lets you control which way you go Fina~

Whether that would actually solve Fina's issue with flight or not wasn't something Vina could predict in advance, but now wasn't the time to address that issue. They had a golden bird to find and an island to explore.

Fina's argument that they weren't going to find many traces of that large golden avian here on the ground did ring true, but Ruby then pointed out that they could try to find traces of the ones responsible for the totem. After their conversation had drifted to the feathered friend that must live at the top of the hill Vina had nearly forgotten about that trinket, but that did bring to mind the theory she hadn't voiced yet.

There are ways to track birds on the ground, but we'd mostly be looking for droppings and the like. As for the owner of the totem... (She frowned.) I didn't mention it while we were up there, but since the golden bird is meant to be good fortune I thought maybe that totem was meant as a way to track it down? If this island is uninhabited it could belong to people from the mainland who wanted to find the bird's nest and capture it.

It would be a rather roundabout way of achieving their goal: why go through the trouble of making the bird first take the totem to its nest if you could capture it instead. However, given how elusive the bird was it was possible the creator of the totem had thought it easier to put it somewhere that it would be found by the bird than to use it as a direct trap.

Ruby's mischievous looks were rewarded with naught but a pout from Fina, who opted to let the two experts on exploring and nature discuss things. Although there was one small detail that did bother the feline a little bit. "So... what if the totem isn't from anyone on this island?" She had already mentioned it before, and sure, the argument that they were rather far away from any other form of land was still there... but the nest itself was also pretty big, so their golden bird didn't have to be some kind of pushover incapable of carrying that thing from the mainland.

"And if it has some kind of tracking magic on it, wouldn't it be possible to sense and maybe reverse it for someone sensitive to magic? I mean, I'm invested in my fortitude masteries, so I'm just kinda guessing there..." Ruby was also on the more physical side of things from what she knew of the girl, so Vina would likely have to be the one to try that, if it was even possible.

Ruby listened carefully to @Vina Skysong's guess, and to @Fina Drago's idea as well. The idea of being able to track someone with magic wasn't unheard of, but tracking something with magic sounded even easier. "Haha, it seems that you two are the true brains of this trip. I didn't even consider these possibilities." She rubbed her chin. Were it in real life, she would be suspicious if an eletronic tool was attached to a bird in a supposedly isolated island, but the totem didn't give her the same idea.

"In that case..."

She clasped her hands. "I think Vina should keep the totem for now. She is the most sensitive to magic here. I do know some magic, but I use them to assist me, rather than as my main 'weapons'." Ruby decided.

"And for now... We will keep an eye open for the droppins and any other clue of life in this island. I still have my suspicion of intelligent beings in this island... But if we don't find any, then we probably can expect a visit from someone any time soon... After all, we are going to stay here for a long while, and who knows how long this totem has been here." Ruby gestured vaguely at it.

Then, she gestured for her beloved friends to follow her, guiding them through the greenery of the island.

Vina hadn't been sure whether her suspicions were well-founded or not, but it looked like her friends were willing to entertain them. The silver-white-haired vixen looked at the totem before turning her gaze to Fina.

If the totem isn't from somebody living on this island I'm thinking that soon we'll have more visitors.

Both Ruby and Fina suggested that if the totem had some kind of magic on it they could try to reverse it. Taking the totem Vina once again studied it, but despite her best efforts she couldn't make heads or tails of it. She let out a small sigh.

Using magic also makes you more sensitive to it, true~ But not all magic is the same, you know? Dark magic is as alien to me as it is to you, for example. (She pocketed the totem.) I can tell there's something strange about this totem, but that's about it. So either it's not a type of magic I'm good with or they're really good at covering their tracks. (She shrugged.) Or maybe it's not magical at all~

She could dedicate their stay on the island to just studying the totem, see if she could learn something from it, but there was no guarantee that'd help. And she'd rather have fun with her friends anyway: if she kept the totem on her they'd eventually learn what it was about anyway, so better to focus on the fun stuff than scratch her head over the mysterious totem and the missing golden bird.

So~! Let's go explore more of the island~ We're not just here for the golden bird, after all, and with how big and shiny it is we'll definitely notice it once it returns to its nest~

Taking Fina by the wrist she followed Ruby with her useful cheerful step, her fluffy tail swishing playfully as the three of them headed back into the jungle that dominated most of the island.

All Fina could really do at this point was to throw her hands in a shrug. "Well, I've no further ideas, and it sounds like we can't really figure it out anyway, so why bother, I suppose. If something comes up, we'll just have to hope it won't be so bad that we won't be able to deal with it in the moment." It was basically the way of a person who has given up. Just deal with everything as it comes along. Something she was quite familiar with - this problem was future Her's problem, not the present Her's.

She also let out a small yelp as the vixen suddenly grabbed her hand and started dragging her along. Probably for the best, though. Ruby was clearly doing just fine leading them, and she sure as hell didn't know where to go, or how to effectively explore the island. Nor how to really track the golden bird, if it was even real.
