Lisa was a bit surprised by how miss Yuhan reacted to the question... But not in a bad way, "Oh, so you don't eat it that often... I can relate to that! I can't have enough of strawberry cakes whenever they're available!" She happily commented while taking a bite of her own meal.

"And yeah, that's the unrealistic part! I asked mom, but without any hopes of it actually happening, you know!?" Lisa explained, then turned towards her mom, who just smiled in response, "Like... Planes, hotels and the like are all expensive..."

Her mom just ruffled Lisa's hair, "Don't worry about it and just enjoy the trip, alright?"

It's not like Lisa could simply press a button that said 'stop worrying', but... Well, she would enjoy the trip anyways. No way she wasn't now that they're here.

"Oooh! We can even take a boat to see the statue!?" Lisa was excited for a second, but then her excitement died down just as quickly, "I dunno if boats are very safe..." She stared downwards at her non-functional legs, "Maybe just a walk" not that she would be walking, "around the park would be better?"

Her mom just continued ruffling her daughter's hair, "Let's first look at the boats before making a decision, how about it?"

"Okay..."
Lisa snuggled with her mom's hand... She wasn't looking forward to sitting in line for a long time, but... Well, that's just the kind of thing you have to deal with when going to touristic spots, right?

"Did you ever go see it yourself, miss Yuhan?" Lisa decided to ask.

Yuhan breathed a chuckle, looking at the girl and her mother. "Maybe if you two are feeling like having desserts later, we can figure something out." She winked to the two of them, though depending on the diet limitations of little Lisa, she would need to make some adjustments to what she usually brought forth.

Hopefully that wouldn't bother Bao too much, but it wasn't like she spoiled a lot of desserts to her little sister anyway.

"Your mother really loves you, Lisa. I'm sure no money can buy that out of her." She declared. "I'm sure she is enjoying the quality time with her daughter, it isn't every day you can go to another country."

Though the two of them lived in Europe, which perhaps made travelling to other countries much easier, when they were in such a short distance. The same amount of travel to go from a country to another in Europe was what you needed to travel from a region to another in U.S.

China was no different.

"Just sight, taking boats. We can cross that bridge when the time comes." She nodded. "I did go see it myself a couple times. The first time was amazing, but after visiting a few times, it becomes something 'common'." She admitted this much, but then pondered. "Still, there is always something in my visits to it that makes it special or surprising."

Her eyes landed on Lisa's.

"I have a feeling that this time you will be responsible for it."

"Well, I'm always up for desserts!" Lisa happily replied.

"In moderation." Her mom added, to Lisa dismay... "But I would love some as well, if it's not too much trouble."

Lisa wondered if Ruby's words meant she was going to bake some desserts for them, since she was talking about getting them later instead of now... Well, that was something to look forward to!

"It's not that I don't know that mom loves me, miss Yuhan..." Lisa mumbled, "It's just that I also know money has been scarce since dad passed away..."

"Lisa... You don't need to trouble miss Yuhan with that."
Her mom commented.

It took Lisa a second too long to realize what she had just said.... "A-a-a-a-a-ah! P-p-please pretend I said nothing!" Lisa tried to quickly fix things, How did I mess up so badly!?

Change topics, change topics! Let's go! "A-a-a-a-a-anyways! I'm enjoying the trip a lot too! And I'm very glad to have seen you! And I am excited for sight-seeing too!

"A-and of course..." She turned her head towards her mom, "I'm very very happy to be here with you, mom."

Her mom smiled and held her hand, "I'm very happy to be here with you too."

Either way, things went back to the topic of the statue, and... Well, Lisa could understand it becoming somewhat common after seeing it a few times, but... She blushed hard with the last few words miss Yuhan muttered, "T-t-t-thank you... Being with you makes this pretty special for me too..."

Yuhan nodded at Lisa's mom's words. "Exactly, in moderation." She said, glancing at the little girl right after and winking. "It isn't any trouble at all. I am sure my sister will love to know there is fresh baked dessert when she gets home." Yuhan giggled, thinking fondly of her sister's possible reaction. She knew the little girl enough by now to know how she would act upon knowing about the dessert.

Her gaze then was one of surprise, but soon softened, both at the reveal and backtracking of the little girl, letting out a faint sigh and nodding, letting the topic slip away for now. Both for Lisa and her mother's sake.

Warmth coloured Yuhan's cheek seeing the cute sight of daughter and mother, and also at the return of feelings regarding how special that time was.

"Let's make sure to enjoy our time to the fullest today. And for how else long you plan to stay around, I will show everything you two want to see. I don't have friends visiting me a lot, so I need to do my best on it!"

She huffed, confidently as she nibbled and drinked her order away.

Lisa smiled while imagining Bao's happy face when coming home to some fresh sweets... And her surprise if she saw Lisa and her mom there too... That was another thing to look forward to.

And... Well, Lisa was relieved that miss Yuhan didn't comment on the dad issue. It wasn't the happiest of topics, and she really didn't want to ruin the mood of the visit.

"And I'll do my best to be a good guest too!" Lisa replied as she finished eating her order. Her mom hadn't told her how long they could stay in the US, but... Lisa was going to be sure to make the most of the stay there! Especially if Ruby is willing to be with them for more than just today!

I'm really glad mom took me here... Lisa smiled to ear to ear as she thought that... It really was a wonderful gift that her mom gave her.

Meanwhile, Sophia finished her meal, and got up to pay for her and Lisa's share, "I'll be right back." she said while gently ruffling her daughter's hair.

Lisa figured miss Yuhan would soon get up to pay too, but she figured she could at least sneak in a question while they were alone, "By the way, any particularly nice places in here? Somewhere you really really like? As in... Any place that is nice enough that even the forests of Falderen can't compare to?" She honestly couldn't imagine it... Earth just... Didn't feel as nice as Arcia did.

But well, getting a different perspective on things never hurt!

Ruby looked up at Lisa's mom, giving her a friendly nod before turning her attention toward the little girl once again, pondering about her question. "Somewhere that even the forest of Falderen can't compare to?"

She looked at Lisa for a moment, trying to give it a genuine thought before clasping her hands together. "Impossible." She giggled. "We are in the big city. Back where I lived in China, there were some very beautiful, nature places... And I am sure if we go to somewhere away from the city here, we could find something similar..." Ruby pondered.

"But in here? Something that could compare to, it is impossible." She admitted, tapping her fingers over the table, raising a hand to ask for the bill, and as the bill came, she slipped a hand to her purse, putting the payment and a tip while musing.

Her eyes soon went back to Lisa's again. "There is the Central Park though, which is the bit of nature that we have in New York City. And I must say, it is probably one of my favorite places."

Lisa grinned in response to the 'impossible' statement, "Figured as much. London also doesn't have anything like it." Sure, there were some tall impressive buildings, but it wasn't close to being the same... Nothing could be as pretty as what they saw in Arcia.

"Oh? There were some nice places in China at least? That's nice... You wouldn't have some pictures of them with you, would you?" Lisa asked with shining eyes... Sure, it's not the same as viewing it with her eyes, or Chako's eyes, but it was still something she loved viewing very much... She wouldn't have joined the explorer's league if she didn't love pretty sights, after all.

Lisa's mom came back just as Ruby finished her last sentence, "You want to go to the Central Park too? I'm not sure if there's enough time to both visit the Statue of Liberty, miss Yuhan's home and the Central Park to boot..."

"Then we can always visit it later! I was just asking for places with nice sights!"
Lisa smiled. A small lie like this wouldn't hurt, would it? Not when she was already hiding the fact she played Terrasphere from her mom.

... Thinking about it made her feel guilty though, so she decided to shove the thoughts away with more actions, "If you would lead the way, miss Yuhan?" Lisa was still excited to see the Statue of Liberty, after all!

And her mom just ruffled her hair in return... Sometimes Lisa wondered if her mom could read her mind... Or if her feelings were just too obviously shown in her face... She still appreciated the gesture though.

Yuhan giggled at little Lisa's excitement, but at the same time, she could understand it. The first time she came to US, she also wanted to see everything she could, especially since it was the first time she had left her 'nest'.

"Leave it to me." She winked, then gestured for them to follow. "Next stop, the Battery Park!"

To the park, they needed to take a taxi, so they would manage to find their way there. It took a bit, but at least it also gave room for them to talk a little more and watch the ever-busy New York City. When they finally arrived the place, Yuhan smiled, gesturing once again for them to follow. "Come on, I know the perfect spot for it..."

She promised, and it was the truth.

At first, the barrage of trees made it seems like it would be a simple park, but as soon as they went deeper into the park, on a curve the trees opened up, leaving the beautiful sight uncovered...

Lisa was a bit confused about the thing of going to the Battery Park... Weren't they going to the statue of liberty?

Her mom nodded to miss Yuhan's words though, so maybe Lisa was just missing something.

Well, either way, it was time to go now, and Lisa was a bit excited... Or rather, quite excited! I'm really going on a trip with mom and miss Yuhan! And in a whole different country to boot!

Although she was a bit worried about taking a taxi... Those usually aren't adapted appropriately... But well, they eventually managed to find one with enough space in the trunk to fit her wheelchair comfortably, and then Sophia helped Lisa sit in the car's seats.

Once the cab started moving though, Lisa started reminiscing... It was hard not to; not when it had been so long since the last time she actually took a cab... It didn't exactly sour Lisa's mood, but it certainly took a bit of the joy of her smile away.

Still, she tried her best to not let it get to her as they talked to miss Yuhan... Her mom had her hand on her head the whole time though, She never misses anything, does she? Lisa thought with a smile.

Either way, after they left the cab, they followed the path miss Yuhan was laying out to them, with Sophia pushing Lisa's wheelchair, who still clung to her harp case even now, I still need to ask her to autograph it... Well, I guess that can wait.

Eventually, they arrived at a nice spot, and Lisa opened her mouth wide in awe, "Whoa..." It reminded her of the question she asked Ruby not that long ago... Sure, Arcia was still more beautiful, but this was definitely awe-inspiring anyways.

"I hope dad is seeing this too." Lisa muttered. Less of a wish and more of a prayer... She wasn't sure what god this was even directed to though. Earth's own deaf god, or maybe one of Arcia's deities that she didn't know much about, Maybe I should try learning more about them later...

Either way, Lisa shook her head. She didn't need to look her mom's way to know that she would have a terribly worried expression on her right now, so it was best to not let this topic linger for long, "How did you even find this spot, miss Yuhan!? It looks amazing!"

Sophia nodded, with some relief openly visible on her face, "I agree. You sure have an eye for sightseeing spots." She told miss Yuhan.

Yuhan could barely hear to Lisa's muttering, but she didn't try to be meddlesome about it. The last thing she wanted was to turn the mood sour, especially with such a wonderful sight out there for them to enjoy. She hummed, watching the landscape with a hint of nostalgia running through her. It hasn't been too long since she had returned to this spot, just a few months ago, but it was probably one of the very first places she visited after coming all the way to New York.

And the excitement of the little girl about it only reminded of herself in the past. Seeing something entirely new, and being so eager about it. It eventually became something normal to her, but in a way, it is still special.

When she glanced at Lisa, she giggled. "You know, I'm a bit of an explorer myself." She responded, then winked at Lisa while referencing to their little secret before deciding to give a more concrete answer.

"The first time I came here, my mind was all over the place. And artists are just like that, when their mind are all over the place, they do what they can to find a muse. And my way to do it, is to find a beautiful place to see and enjoy it."

Lisa couldn't help wondering if miss Yuhan heard what she had said... Lisa did appreciate the fact that miss Yuhan didn't comment on it, but deep inside, she kinda hoped that miss Yuhan had heard... She wanted miss Yuhan to know more about herself.

Either way, Lisa giggled too when miss Yuhan made her comment, "Right, I suppose you are."

"I guess she is a part of that guild thing you joined to see pretty sights, but that you never made any use of?"
Her mom commented.

"It's a league, mom! And yes! Ru-Y-Y-miss Yuhan is a veteran there!" And the League was still going to be useful to Chako eventually! Probably! She just... Needed to learn how to read a map first? That would probably do it...

Either way, she listened to miss Yuhan's comment on it and smiled, "I can relate to that... I certainly do feel inspired when I see a new wonderful place in my exploring trips!" And when she was in a hospital bed, both her mom and her dad often showed all sorts pretty place pictures to get her to smile. Telling her of all the wonderful places she could walk to once they fixed her legs.

Lisa held back a sigh... It really was too much of a big dream... And she hated the fact that this dream could only come true through a place where she could die in... If only she could be safe there, she could tell her mom about it... But it really wasn't happening.

... If only I was born in Arcia, than all my problems could easily be solved with magic...

... Her thoughts made her stop... She realized what those thoughts led to, and she was scared of it... When did I start longing for that? It was truly terrifying to realize it...

... I'm not doing it... I'm not leaving mom...

... I'm not letting her see my own funeral. Lisa decided.

And so, she decided to go back to talking, to push her own thoughts away from her, "R-right! This is absolutely astounding, don't get me wrong, but do we have a way of getting any closer to the statue!? Or is this as close as we can get!?

"... N-not trying to sound ungrateful or anything though! I-I'm just curious!" She hastily added once she realized what she sounded like, Don't mess up now, Lisa. Don't make the people you care for become disappointed in you.

Yuhan giggled lightly. "You've really told everything to your mom, right?" She teased a little, and straighting up her posture as she proudly accepted the title of veteran. "I'm one of the best of my League, Mrs Evans." Yuhan rested a hand over her chest, showing her a confident and determined smile. "So don't worry, I'm looking after our little Lisa here with all my skills in our game. I'm making sure to keep her out of trouble too."

She reassured. Yuhan knew that Lisa wasn't going to open up about everything of the game, and that would inevitably put her mother in a complicated spot. On a hand, she would worry about what her daugher was doing in an online game at her age, on another hand, being too nosy or confronting too much about it could cause an attriction in their trust and relationship.

Yuhan was no mother, but she was an older sister that was having to take care of her little sister all by herself.

"Getting there, huh..?" She looked at the statue, then glanced at the small port nearby. "We can go there by boat. If you two are up to. It is paid though." Yuhan explained.

"In the Island there is a café, a museum, and you can go inside the statue. There is an elevator to the pedestal of the statue, and stairs that go all the way up to the crown."

"A-ahahahaha" Lisa wryly laughed in response to miss Yuhan's comment... Certainly not everything...

Lisa then felt her mom's hand gently ruffling her hair, and she felt herself calming down... I guess mom doesn't want to bring this up again after that small fight that happened while they were eating... Thanks, mom.

"Mmmmmm... I hope she ain't causing you too much trouble." Her mom said, then giggled, "At least you don't trip and fall from trees anymore, do you Lisa?"

"I-I'm improving! I don't trip that often anymore! I have been learning how to move my legs in-game! Miss Yuhan has helped me a lot with that!"
Which should count as causing her trouble, but well... "And uhn... I think she doesn't mind it, since well... You know, you're still helping me with it and all that?" Lisa suddenly asked miss Yuhan... Lisa was pretty confident of the answer to this one, but getting this kind of reassurance was always appreciated... Especially with her mom right next to her! Lisa could finally show that she was a responsible person that didn't bother others with this!

... Within reasonable limits that is. Chako still needed plenty of help and that naturally came with some level of bothering others, Lisa figured...

"Wait, we can actually go inside it!?"
Lisa exclaimed in disbelief... The mention of the word 'stairs' was a huge bummer, but still... "We, we can go, right!?" She asked her mom.

Her hair was ruffled again, "Well, we're already here, so we might as well."

Mom really is the best... Lisa thought, while also hoping the boat wasn't too expensive... Well, this whole trip was probably way too expensive though, so not much point in worrying about it now.

"She causes more enjoyment than trouble, really." Yuhan shrugged. Honestly, she wouldn't even count helping Lisa out as a trouble. She was a nice company, and it did feel like she had one more little sister to spend time with. "We are friends, Lisa. Of course I will continue to help you."

It was also good to know that her actual little sister had another friend of her age to play with, after all, the only other friend she had in game was some boy that didn't really seem like a good influence.

Not that "Crimson Ruby" was a good influence at all.

"Well, then let's waste no time, otherwise the line will get longer!"

Yuhan grinned as the two decided to go to the statue, and approaching the port, they were able to take a boat trip all the way to the statue. It did have the accessibility for Lisa, and in fact it did help them to cut most of the line short. The way there was nothing to be scoffed at. It was a boat trip, after all, and even if short, it was enjoyable to be embraced by the wind until they got to the island.

Lisa blushed a bit when hearing that she was more enjoyment than trouble... She certainly thought that miss Yuhan liked being next to her, but it was nice to hear this kind of reassurance.

Also... Hearing miss Yuhan 1say that they were friends made Lisa happier than she had imagined... Like, yeah, duh, of course we're friends! What else could we be!? Overexcited fan and idol!? Teacher and student!?

... Perhaps Lisa did think that those labels fit them more accurately than friends... And this realization just made her even happier about miss Yuhan's statement, "W-well... Thanks. I'll be counting on you." She meekly said with a deeper blush and a blissful smile.

Though miss Yuhan's next statement confused Lisa, "Wait, the line can actually get long for this kind of thing?" Lisa tilted her head.

Sophia giggled, "She probably means the standard line, not the preferential one."

"Oh...! Right! I guess miss Yuhan would usually take that one!"
Lisa sometimes forgot that not everyone had permanent access to the preferential line... Though well, it was kinda obvious that most people had to take the normal lines, otherwise the preferential line would lose its purpose.

Then, to the boat they went. Lisa was pretty nervous about it, as it was her first time ever getting this close to the sea... I guess I should check Ilmea's Lament out later... Though I would need some swimming lessons wouldn't I? Well... Maybe that would be fine too.

Those thoughts were further reinforced on the moment the boat started moving, "W-whoa! I-it shakes!" Lisa starred glittery-eyed at all the water surrounding them.

It made Lisa pause for a bit, before she held her mom's hand and said, "Let's go to the beach later!"

Sophia was wide-eyed at that statement, so Lisa continued, "Dad couldn't teach me how to swim, but it's fine, isn't it? I wanna see what the salty water is all about!" Just one of many dreams that never came true... It was about time they stopped brooding over that, wasn't it?

... Sophia's expression slowly turned into a smile, before she nodded, "Sure. Let's do all those family plans that we have been putting off."

I'm glad mom can always read me way too well... Then, Lisa turned to miss Yuhan and grinned, "Expect to receive plenty of family photos from me later! I have looots of dreams to fulfill!" And not all of them could be fulfilled by Chako, for better or worse, "Though the dream I'm fulfilling today is one of the biggest ones!" She grinned more widely.

Yuhan giggled at @Chako's words. She couldn't help but be a bit thankful they could take the priority line, otherwise they would spend an hour in the line. The enjoyment of the boat ride was already making the effort of coming all the way here worth it, especially with the sweet exchange between mother and daughter that was unfolding before Yuhan.

It made some nostalgia tingle inside of her, but not as much as it increased her desire to mean as much as that to someone else.

"I'm not sure how beaches are in UK, but we do have beaches around here. Depending on how long you two plan to actually stay, it may be worth a visit." She smiled gently to Lisa. "So you can check another dream fulfilled right away."

It didn't take long for them to reach the Island's port, and being guided out of the boat, with the proper access to it, they needed to move out of the immediate entrance, to not get caught in the crowd. But a dozen seconds of walk was more than enough for them to reach the open space, which let them be more comfortable and out of risk of bumping on people.

"So, do you want to go straight to the statue, or..?" She gestured at it. The statue looked enormous. Even more imponent than it looked from the Battery Park.

Lisa blushed a bit as miss Yuhan giggled at her exchange with her mom... It's just normal to me, okay! And it's not like she ever had to worry about queues in Arcia, so it wasn't really something she had ever experienced differently.

Then, as miss Yuhan suggested going to the beach in the US, Lisa put her hand on her chin and thought for a bit... Until eventually, she turned to her mom, "What do you think?"

"Isn't it your dream?"
Her mom asked back.

"Our dream." Lisa corrected, "Unless you're gonna tell me you weren't excited about the idea of a family trip to the beach."

Sophia sighed and ruffled Lisa's hair, "Fine, fine, you win."

... For once, Lisa was certain that it was not done to calm her down, which made her smile more than she usually did.

"I'm fine with it if you are." Her mom decided.

Then, Lisa turned back to miss Yuhan and spoke with a huge grin on her face, "I'd love it if could all go to the beach together! Doubly so if Bao can come too!" Sure, she did emphasize the family part back there, but she had already made her decision when she asked her mom about it, so... Well, she was living through a lot of her dreams as Chako already. It helped Lisa realize that she didn't need to get too attached to how they were going to be realized and care more about the moment itself.

Either way, once they were on the island proper, miss Yuhan asked a question that Lisa had an instant answer to, "Straight to the statue! We can find islands everywhere, but statues that we can go to the top of we can only find here!" Or at least Lisa thought that was the case... She hadn't ever guugled this kind of thing, after all.

Yuhan continued to enjoy the exchange between the two, not feeling third wheeled in the slightest in the situation. It gave her a longing feeling, one that she hoped she could satiate in the future. But it most likely won't be with the person she used to share those feelings with before.

"I would never say no to a beach. Showing off my swimsuit collection and my castle building skills is always great!" She declared boldly and confidently. By hearing her tone, one would think she was a professional model and a sculpter.

She was neither, but she had the confidence of one in that regard.

Snapping her fingers, she pointed at the statue. "Then, to the statue we go, time to get into the uptome symbol of freedom!" At that point, Uncle Sam was probably proud of Yuhan, albeit a bit confused since she was Chinese.

Stepping into the elevator, that once again was crowded with a line that was cut short, the trio was lifted to the height of the pedestal, inside of the statue. The structure by the inside was colossal, with a complex of metallic beams coming from every direction, holding the organic shape of the statue together and a central spiraled stair that went all the way up to the crown of the statue. Unfortunately, there was no elevator to the crown, but they could move around freely by the level of the top of the pedestal, that was already as tall as a ten floors building.

"Phew... This looks like it gets bigger every time I come to visit it again." Yuhan said, in awe at the size of that thing, despite being far from the first time she came here. She peeked at Lisa and her mother, smiling.

"What do you think? Is it as big as you expected?"

Lisa tilted her head at miss Yuhan's statement, "Why would you need a swimsuit collection?"

"You'd get it if you cared a slightest bit more for fashion."
Her mom sighed.

Lisa shook her head, "Fashionable clothes are expensive, and most of them would look bad on me anyways. I like the stuff I use.

"Also, never mind that! Sand castles! We can totally build those on the beach, can't we!? That's another thing to look forward to!" Lisa was very uncomfortable with the idea of leaving her wheelchair while in public to play on the sand, but... Well, it would definitely be safe with her mom, miss Yuhan and Bao around.

"Already changing topics, are you?" Her mom sighed once more, seemingly giving up on a lost cause.

"To the symbol of freedom!" Lisa raised one fist up in the air in response to miss Yuhan's statement. Although it's kinda funny to think of it as the symbol of freedom, like... Wasn't the US the one who created the AI that got rid of every information online about Terrasphere? That's not exactly a freedom move...

Not like Lisa really cared about all that though, especially not when Evelyn already gave her access to Arcia anyways, so the AI could get rid of whatever information they wanted to as far as Lisa cared.

It was certainly nice that the elevator brought them all the way to the top of the pedestal... Though seeing the stairway to the crown was a bit disappointing, There's no way mom can carry me up through that.

That one simply wasn't going to happen... But it's okay! There was plenty to enjoy in a place like this anyways!

"It's much bigger than I thought it would be!" Lisa replied to miss Yuhan's question

It was a bit hard to measure size for something this big, she figured... And it was pretty awesome that they could get this close to the statue.

So, for now, the next plan would be... "Mom, there!" Lisa pointed towards the outer zone of the observation deck, "I think we'll be able to see the sea well from there!" Lisa already was taking out her phone, getting ready to take some photos.

Though then she remembered something important, "Do you mind if I take pictures with you too?" She asked miss Yuhan, "I kinda wanted to show the trip pics to my best friend though..." Lisa fidgeted a bit... Sure, Evelyn did see miss Yuhan's shows with me on metube before, but it's different from having a photo of a public figure...

It looked like that she would be looking forward some good beach time with Lisa and her mom later. The next few days were sure going to get busy, so her freelance work and her TS shenanigans would need to wait until then.

With the topics changed and them moving on to the statue, Yuhan approached to the outer zone along with Lisa and her mother, with Lisa soon catching her attention.

Yuhan stared at Lisa, looking completely baffled at the question. "If I mind? No, but only if you let me take a picture with you too. And this is only one of many we will take." She retorted with a laugh, fading the baffled expression away from her face.

"Let's all of us take pictures, it is a beautiful background for it too!" She declared, asking a passerby to help with the photo, so no one would be missing out.
