Finweald - Starlight Orphanage

"I apologize..." She couldn't say more than that and lower her chin, given how the magia so bluntly pointed it out. But alas, there was some truth in her words, but it wasn't exactly the reason why she didn't wish to go downstairs, even if she had plenty to give.

For a moment she opted to peek from above, but there wasn't much she could see from upstairs, and she only hoped things wouldn't get any worse than they are right now. By the time Ronja came back, the elf fidgeting with her hair focused gaze once more, adjusting her glasses and heeding to her words, sharing severity within her eyes.

"We planned for this, worry not. I'll help gather the children and move them outside of the building. I made some arrangements to move them temporarily with some colleagues of ours, so you won't have to worry for them." She nodded. The staff would have to handle the kids, but this would at least free up space and time for the pair to work without too much of a burden on their backs.

Other than that of the possibility of the entire building coming down and leaving them homeless in more than one way...

On her return, Fiora crossed her arms under her bust and listened, a deep frown nested on her features as the situation had turned time sensitive no sooner then arrived. "We made it in time then. Good work, hun." Yet her voice didn't relax a bit with this, as the elf pulled off her jacket and wrapped it around her waist.

When asked to become a dwarf and start digging like one, Fiora nodded, with a quaint smile on her face. "I can, just tell me where and when to stop and I'll get to it. Do we need to bring anything else from here? I'll carry it in, but If it's something like a beam, I'll need you to guide me so I don't send anything through a wall, unless you got a better way." She glanced over to the cart, then back to the orphanage and finally to her beloved once again.

"That reminds me, I brought a blanket just in case." She let her eye dart around them for a second before leaning down to mumble to Ronja. "For, you know, hiding your aid-lings in it if we want to carry them inside... Dunno if you got that part covered, but I wanted to be safe than sorry. We don't want to scare them."

< Continuing from As The World Turns >

With the reassurance that there was already some planning for dealing with this emergency situation, Ronja could rest relieved that she wouldn't need to worry too much about handling the kids during the anticipation of everything falling.

As she returned to Fiora, the explanation seemed to be satisfactory, and the magia nodded. "Yes, we did it. But we will need to work quick for things to not go too out of control." She said, letting out a brief sigh.

"Ronja will guide you for sure, and we will need to carry not only beams, but pillars too. But... Ronja has a couple of ideas. She intends to make some temporary reinforcement with mana structures, and then we can pierce the actual reinforcement deep into the ground, to give more stability, and then reinforce the beams..." Ronja tried to explain, before slipping something more straightforward-

"Basically, we will overlay the broken structure with a more durable and reliable structure, on top of fixing the broken one as much as it is feasible just in case." After giving away the summarized process, she glanced down at the blanket, giving a smile to Fiora.

"Useful, but Ronja has it handled for now... Don't throw it away though, materializing the Aid-Lings consumes a lot of energy, so Ronja does intend to keep them physically offline, rather than just recalling them into a mana data in Ronja's body." She said, resting a hand on her chest for emphasis, before then turning to gesture Fiora to follow her all the way down to the basement.

Her expression turned a tad more serious now with how Ronja stressed over making haste, and how she explained what they had to do to keep the building from collapsing just proved that much, given this was a structural problem that got further than she imagined at first when picking up the commission.

"Time's ticking, and this ain't easy at all." She admitted, scratching away at her temples. "I'll take a guess and figure we don't have much time with that either. Between the aidlings and sustaining a structure like that..." Fiora looked back to their cart and over to Ronja once again, sighing off. "Yep, this is gonna be tricky. But it's a good time to show you what these can do." A smirk finally grew up on her as confidence surged, lifting her free arm to flex it a little.

Fiora nodded and dropped the blanket over her shoulder for the time being, tagging along once gestured. They already had begun to 'evacuate'. The children's shouts of joy were clearly not the type that were told about the dangers of the building, and how they were all organized in groups tailing behind their caretakers proved that much.

Her eye softened once awe-struck and curious little faces turned to watch them both cross through the crowded hallway, doing her best impression to keep herself unphased, despite how apologetic the sight of these orphans made her.

"Alright everyone, are we ready to go now? I don't hear a yes!" One of the adults took care to distract the kids long before they could start poking questions about Ronja; It worked, given the united choir following aftewards.

"They really got them pumped up, huh?" Fiora pondered outloud once the corridors turned grim and the lively voices were a little more distant, right before they turned over to head to the basement. "Crap, this looks like a horror movie already..." Just a glance down the cracked stairs and the candles at the end were enough of a bad vibe to consider this a haunted cellar of sorts.

Her right hand rised to playfully flick Ronja on the side to catch her attention, smiling as she did."So what's the plan to bring a pillar all the way down. I figured we would make a hole and patch it up later, because these corridors are kinda tight for a turn like this."

Ronja nodded, slightly worried. "This is a problem, yes... And Ronja thinks she will need to use all her power to make sure she will maintain everything working. She may even need to use her-" Ronja cleared her throat, quietening her voice. "Ultra Magia mode." She sighed, but then froze onto place at the sight of the children approaching. She knew very well what the adults had to think about her, but the same couldn't be said about the kids.

Thankfully, the reaction was in general as naive and innocent as one would expected, bringing a small smile to Ronja's lips, that didn't really remained unphased like Fiora, opening one of her hands to wave a small greeting to some more curious ones.

"They need to, it is the only thing they have going for them right now." Ronja said, with a hint of guilt in her voice as the children faded away from their sight. As soon as they got into the basement, Ronja released her Aidlings to start surveying the area with a deeper anaylsis. "It does look like one..."

With a sigh, Ronja was about to take a step forward, only to jolt when being flicked, making her a bit jumpy as she turned to face her beloved, and softening her tension as she looked at Fiora. "You are sure in a playful mood, aren't you? Go ahead and pick up those large broken structures, we need to get them out of here." Ronja clapped twice.

"Also, Ronja will keep a temporary structure made out of mana, then we will replace it... As for how we will get this inside here?" Ronja grinned.

"Summoning portals, of course."

"Hm." She closed her eye for a second, gaze set on Ronja once she heard about how much stress she would have to burden her body with, to the point even her Ultra Magia form could be needed here. Before her mind could concern itself any more about the odds, her resolve became evident within her golden iris. "You can handle it. And I'll be there to do my part, so you got nothing to worry about." Fiora was long past the worrying phase now. Ronja is more than capable enough. She could bet her life on her lover whenever she was dead set on completing a task, specially one for the well-being of others.

When Ronja waved at the nearest groups, most just kept watching her with surprise, like they found the coolest looking person ever besides their caretakers passing by. One girl in particular though tried to make herself known, the beastfolk letting her ears flat against her head and a hand over her horse tail kept it tucked against her body.

"H-hi?" Her right hand stretched out to wave at Ronja, her voice leaping a little in the process, and while she was dragged along with the rest of the kids to move on the line, the girl didn't let her eyes off the magia until she was way out of her sight.

"We'll make sure they don't lose it today." Fiora added, in hopes to encourage her and push aside that little cloud inside her beloved's mind that she was guilty of being afflicted with herself. Yet having been to two instances of a lander being nice to Ronja, her voice sounded a little more hopeful than usual for these words.

With Ronja successfully jolted, Fiora shrugged at her accussations, but didn't try to hard to deny it with the smile on her lips. "I just have a lot of fun around you. Nothing wrong with wanting to lighten you up a little. Stress's gonna make your hair all grey." She paused, sighing off once her lover already begun to act like the engineer in this operation, and herself as just a simple peon. "Yes ma'am." She chuckled a little, knowing that was completely accurate, given her dumb strength showed off she fit the bill perfectly once she begun to compress and break the debris into smaller pieces to carry out of the basement, until they would have a mostly clean open area to work with.

On the way back and forth she listened, stopping once Ronja revealed the secrets behind her strategy with a grin all over her face, getting a half-smirk on Fiora's face and a quirked up brow.

"You could summon portals all this time? That's... Actually very impressive, I didn't thought that was possible even." She folded her arms under her bust "Whose the playful one now, huh." She teased, waving a hand as if to gesture for Ronja to proceed with her masterplan.

To the child before they got into the basement, Ronja offered an warmer smile, mouthing a 'Hi there' to her, but keeping the voice to herself.

The small greeting was enough to let Ronja linger a smile on her face later on, and of course, gave the strength she needed to put all she had into this moment they would help this orphanage out. "We will... They won't lose the only home they have left." Ronja nodded, determined.

A smile crossed her lips again, however, as soon as Fiora started working, making Ronja approach her and give a big pat on her back, urging her to keep going.

"You already do it every day, honey. Do it like this then... Make it so Ronja can see your big, oiled muscles in action." She chuckled, clasping her hands together with some color covering her cheeks, watching Fiora bringing the debris out, while she ordered her Aidlings around so they would wipe the mess that was left behind.

One had an attached duster, another had an inbuilt magitech vacuum cleaner with a large bag, and the last one had a bag and a claw to pick up smaller debris, that weren't worth of Fiora's effort, but also didn't fit in a vacuum.

"Ronja works with compressed data, she does make portals. This is how she can keep so many Aidlings and Warlings around without making her bear with extra weight." She explained.

"!!!" The girl gasped a little, but she couldn't mutter a single word, her widening smile followed a last attempt of a wave before they were both out of sight from eachother, and that left her a litle more hope for the return to the orphanage rather than the planned activities the adults had in mind.

"That's my Ronja." Fiora replied, an affectionate smile showing up as she took notice of this powerful determination on her lover's words, and what permanent joy that girl granted which became contagious. Her body felt a little lighter and her steps easier to take just from that little boost.

With her little engineer giving her a pat on the back, Fiora opted to smash a little harder the debris and turn it compact enough for either vaccuum or claw Aid-ling to deal with, pulling her shirt up to wash off specks of dirt from her face, while giving Ronja a good look of her toned, oiled midriff just like she wanted, chuckling along with her.

"Hey, when do I get to see -your- muscles in action? Besides, rather than oily they gonna be dirty and stinky with whatever's down here." She giggled, already having to plan where to take a shower as she side stepped to give space to the claw Aidling to do lift up dust and small pieces of wood and what seemed like steel shards out of the ground, splashing a bit in the process. "Please tell me the ones in our home won't be this noisy. Imagine evening naps with all that ruckus." Fiora added.

When Ronja elaborated on how she handled both types of 'lings' in an almost virtual manner, the elf scratched away at her hairs in clueless fashion. "Huh, sounds almost like the User interface's inventory when you say 'compressed data'." Pushing deeper into the basement, her steps turned heavier as she had to fight against the muddy water, mindful not to drop her foot on a nail or anything sharp.

"Hm, not sure if we can make something like that in our world... But we should start small anyways." She muttered, half absent while she thought of the possibilities, only to turn back to face Ronja with a frown. "All this water's a problem. Think one of your Aidlings could vacuum it? If we had a portal, it would be easy to get it out and I can start bringing over the pillars." Fiora folded her arms under her bust, the mood changing completely as she grew a little more smug in an instant. "Oh and bear as much extra weight as you like, hun. More to hug and love." She teased, but Fiora couldn't hold the composure after that and her cheeks gave up first, turning red as she averted her eye.

Ronja tilted her head, pondering for a moment, or pretending to ponder at the very least. "Ronja's muscles will have some action today." She said with a small smile. "So you can rest assured you will see them, buuut, for all the current brutal and raw strength work, Ronja would rather if her beloved knight would do the work along with her constructs." Ronja said, resting a finger on her chin as she snapped her fingers on the other, summoning a clipboard with a handful of papers attached to it.

"For our home, we won't use any loud Aidlings at night, this is disturbance of the peace."

Having the papers on her hands, she pulled out a pencil and began working on some sketching, already planning on what and how to do it, with her eyes clicking as Fiora mentioned the UI. "You aren't wrong. Ronja uses a lot of features that are almost mirroed features of the User Interface." She said. "But... Yes, thinking of that for our world is too much, since it is the type of thing that is more magi than tech, honestly." Ronja tried to explain, without actually elaborating how the Data Compression worked.

That would need a few hours of explanation.

"Ronja can do something about the mud, yes." Ronja said, putting away her clipboard and sliping her hand into her pouch, getting two capsules together and cracking them open, pouring some dust, one green and one yellow, across the room's ground.

The dust eventually attached to each other, growing and becoming spongy and brown-ish, while the water of the mud slowly drained.

Fiora pursed her lips, peering over to Ronja as she gave her petition a thought or two, her right hand closing onto a fist that almost pumped up, cut short once a long 'buuut' followed, her ear flickering like an antennae of sorts once the magia elaborated, giving her a little smile back. "That's pretty persuasive of you, my queen." She played along, her voice faltering for a second as Fiora flexed her arms and, using her legs to push herself out of a squatting position, lift a fallen chunk of the ceiling while she faced away to shield herself from the splinters once she begun tocarefully crush it into a size compact enough for the aidlings to fit into, on different 'portions'. "I wasn't about to let you do my job eitherway, You gonna be doing some heavy lifting soon enough." Perhaps even worse than just picking up debris, if holding an entire magical structure didn't sound demanding enough for one magia alone.

A chuckle escaped from her lips as soon as Ronja confirmed a silent mode for their Aidlings. "We are totally building a Roomba-ling though. I want to strap drinks on top of it and send it your way through the living room." Express delivery aidling didn't sound like a bad idea to commercialize. Or for private use at least.

"Eh I figured we couldn't stress out that kind of tech outside of Terrasphere, but doesn't hurt to ask." She shrugged, a bit indifferent towards that loss. Nothing ventured nothing gained, someone said once. "Better to start small and not try to break the laws of conservation of mass this early." Atleast not outside of Terrasphere where technology didn't get that far.

Once Ronja pulled off the equivalent of a giant sponge to absorb the water out of the room, the ruined floor boards, blankets and even chairs from the upper floors were visible for the pair to see. Glass shards, quills that long lost their feathers and waste spread all over the basement for the Aidlings to work on.

"Thanks, love. Now we are ready to begin." She clasped her hands together for a singular clap, with a motivated smile on her lips now that the place was a little more easy on her senses, aswell as steady without water to slip on. Only now did Fiora notice the paperclip Ronja had on her hands, the curiosity getting the best out of her as she walked over in an attemp to lean next to the magia and get a peek at it's contents, unless the brunette protested. "What you got there..?"

Ronja giggled at the way she was referred to. "Ronja was promoted from princess to queen? Did she get married or-" Her words and then silence lingered for a moment, with her lips clenching shut as her cheeks turned considerably redder at the words she was about spout. Clearing her throat, she focused on the matter they had at hand. "Y-Yes, Ronja will be having a lot of heavy lifting very soon. Albeit more... Mental." She supposed, tapping her feet.

Pondering about the Roomba-ling, Ronja nodded briefly. "Well, a Roomba-ling would probably be one of the easiest projects Ronja would ever be able to pull off, honestly. Ronja doesn't have as much limitation in this game as she has out there, however, we have a small issue here that is... Energy, basically." Ronja tried to explain, raising a finger.

"Ronja and other magitechnicians use their own magical powers to enhance and fuel their tools... And while some specific inventions only really need a single activation, some will consume energy or magic as usual... Like Magia. Ronja needs magical sources to rest, otherwise, she will eventually deactivate and enter in emergency recharge mode, which she essentially recharges using small scents of magic..." She explained.

"Ronja isn't sure what would happen to her, if this occurred in a place entirely devoid of magic though."

She pondered, feeling a grim chill running through her spine, before pushing away the sense of dread to focus on her beloved's question. "That?" She pointed at the sponge. "Is a special alchemical that drains water in liquid form when it is in direct contact with it." Ronja explained, gesturing at how it continuously grew in size, until the floor was entirely dry.

"Don't touch it ungloved." Ronja warned, raising a finger.

Ronja's insinuations jumped from zero to one hundred really quick, enough for Fiora to repeat the words in her mind to confirm what she heard, and the elf covered her lips out of embarassment with one hand, not enough to cover the entirety of her now flustered face. "W-well, both brides are missing their rings..." She commented between mumbles, turning to face over to that big sponge like thing Ronja brought to life instead, listening to the magia go over the Roomba-ling idea.

At that point she turned to face her once again. While all of this was known to Fiora by now, the woman felt compelled to listen as if it weren't the case, if only because listening to Ronja speak her passions out always felt gratifying, like a new song from her favourite album.

"Jewelry usually reacts well with magic. Gems in general, but maybe there's something even easier to get our hands on that can store mana. Batteries are just portable electricity, so we just need the same but with magic for your Aidlings." Fiora nodded, folding her arms under her bust, her face turning to a frown once her lover begun to dwelve into a slightly grim topic that was her de-activation from lack of mana, reaching out with her right hand to pinch her cheek affectionately. "There's magic everywhere, so that ain't something you should worry about. It may take longer or shorter depending the area though. Trust me, I know magic well enough despite not turning slingshots into railguns like -someone- I know." She glanced around, as if to feign ignorance about this certain overpowered magia.

It was a good thing that Ronja knew her like they've been together for years, quick enough to warn her not to touch the funny looking sponge when that was exactly what her hand itched to do, given proximity with it, and only when warned did Fiora step back and waved her hands in defeat. "Alright alright, not touching the sponge or else it eats my arm." She joked, leaning over against the wall as she watched it finally dry the entire floor, and even spots she imagined it couldn't reach in the first place.

Ronja simply nodded, pushing away the embarrassing thoughts that came along with the slip she accidentally had while her emotions were flourishing a bit too much. Thankfully, having something else to talk about and focus on helped to put all of that in the past.

"They really do react well with magic. Perhaps that's why they are so commonly used as catalysts and foci." Ronja said, rubbing her chin as she pondered about why jewerly worked so well with magic. "Ronja even tried to check if she could learn anything from Eastern Brisshal's power stones, but she wasn't successful on making a satisfying analysis." A sigh escaped her lips, and she shrugged.

"And the problem is... Jewerly is expensive. Unless Ronja manages to make an mass production of synthetic jewerly that can keep mana in an effecient way, Ronja will still have this limitation." She explained, and then peeked at Fiora's reaction to the sponge, giggling and clasping her synthetic hands on it.

"You do know magic, but you barely use any of it, right?" Ronja pondered.

"Is there a particular reason for it, Fiora? Or is it just taste?" She asked, wondering if her lover had anything against using magic, if it was just a distaste, or whatever reason she had for it.

As Ronja explained her unfortunately lackluster experience with the power stones beyond what they had experienced long ago, Fiora closed her eye as per usual whenever she scouted through her mind for the spark to lit ideas with. "We haven't paid much mind to them, but there is a clear correlation between these stones and jewelry. Regardless, they are an exception, so if we can't find much it's okay. Let's hope I don't end up eating my own words if we find another set in the future." She cast it aside from the conversation with a shook from her head.

Finally the lightbulb was lit, much like her face did once Ronja made mention of an alternative. "Synthetic jewelry shouldn't be a problem for you. It's meant to hold mana together rather than channel it. Perhaps some materials are more conductive of it than others, like electricity, and we could find an alternative." She said, her gaze hardening on Ronja for a moment, eyeing the magia up and down. "It might be the difference between an automaton and a magia." Perhaps the answer just lies within her afterall, but saying it outloud made a chill run up her spine.

That determination of hers... It wouldn't surprise the elf if one day she found her toying with her own core.

"I'm good at fighting magic. Either dispelling, deflecting, or changing it to suit my needs. It just looks subtle in practice, so you won't see anything flashy out of me."
Fiora sighed, taking a step closer to the sponge while she folded her arms under her bust, glancing back to Ronja. "the way I have to channel it... It's not natural. You already seen it when we fought eachother." She frowned, having grown a little somber even if her features remained unphased like stone, even if they shouldn't whenever memories of these red eyes came assaulting her mind once again. A nightmare as much of a motivator to never see Ronja like that again. "I'm getting better at it though, but I need to rest a lot between sessions or I'll start making mistakes." To put it lightly, given the effects could go beyond just overloading. Mental strain would beat her to a pulp if she didn't.

"Other than that, I picked up runic magic time after we met. I got no issues with that one, but I'm not sure if call that purely magic since I use reagents for it. For instance, the runes on my skin? Self-made. So if you ever need something long term, you can ask me." Maybe that would come handy one day, she couldn't tell if Ronja would ever need runes on herself though.

"I will power you up with my own magic if we ever find ourselves in a pinch though. Just send me a message if you ever find yourself alone and running out of power." Her worries surfaced, with Fiora absolutely unwilling to play with the idea of Ronja going off again if she could help it. Soon after she laid down that thought. They had more pressing matters now-

"Ready to do some heavy lifting? I don't think we should tempt this old building any longer."

Ronja nodded at Fiora's words. "In the end, as long as we can store it, it is pretty good, yeah!" She said, then raising her finger. "Granted, a gem that is a good catalyst could make things more flexible for us. But we can't afford to be too picky right now" The magia admitted that much, with a shrug that followed with an interested glance at her lover.

"A subtle magic..." Ronja muttered, glancing at the runes that made her frown slightly, but her gaze focused on Fiora's expressions, that made her hold her beloved's hand and squeeze it softly with a faint whisper and smile- "It is in the past." She said, kissing Fiora's hand softly, then resting her other hand on top of hers, with a gentle caress as she continued:

"Well, runes does help with certain constructs... They are good replacements for circuits, that are too complex to work properly with magitech, even if it isn't impossible." She said, unresting her hand from her lover's to rub her chin. "From what you told Ronja, she isn't quite aware of what potential side effects these runes can have, but on herself... Ronja is uncertain if such a thing works on the external of a magia body- But perhaps it does, considering magical healing works as normal on her." Ronja considered, letting go of Fiora's hands and tracing her gaze to the partially broken structures.

"You are right though, we should hurry-" Ronja approached the structure, taking a deep breath and resting her hands on them, closing her eyes to channel her arcane power, that slowly materialized into glowy cyan pillars, that went all the way up to the ceiling and spreaded in a hexagon shaped surface.

"I have one I- uh... I'll show you once we are done here, yeah? It might be useful for you." She traced a finger on her chest, much like how Ronja does at times, only this time as a way to seal a promise.

The grasp on her hand, the comforting squeeze and the smile full of care upon her beloved's visage helped to spark a warmer smile upon her features. "Sorry, you are right. It doesn't matter now." Nico replied, her voice blooming a little more out of it's stone shell, reciprocating the squeeze back at Ronja, keeping quiet if only to enjoy the gentle, affectionate strokes while they lasted, glancing curiously back once she followed up with an explanation.

"Well mine aren't good reference. What I did is like..." Fiora paused, interlocking their fingers together, as usually that helped when trying to reach out for her ideas whenever Ronja was close for it. "Like using a form of magic to neutralize said form of magic, while both are running through your body. I had side effects, and one of them was abandoning runic magic entirely for as long as it worked, but this isn't the kind of method I do normally." She reassured her, that at least side effects wouldn't be involved unless they went down risky territories with it. "I think your body would be the most receptive in fact. You are powered by magic in a way that no one is, and your anatomy is unique compared to the other races." Her gaze traced the magia up and down, humming outloud as her ideas begun to pile and scheme one with the other. "I'm not even sure if there's anything I can put on you that you can't handle. I can tell more or less someone's magical output, but yours goes out of my scale." The perks of being a Magia, she figured.

Before any more could be said, their hands finally parted ways and Fiora sighed, as their little break-time ended, watching as Ronja begun to create this second 'layer' to magically sustain the building, her awe lasting for a few seconds before setting sights on the brunette once again. "I'll head outside and start preparing for when you open up the portals. Try to aim for the center!" She called, before the elf darted upstairs, a little crack on one of the steps almost made her fall down, cursing under her breath and forcing gentle steps to step out of the basement.

It was more like a jog than a full-on sprint, with Fiora passing by the lander elf who almost parted her lips to question the noise, but she was by now outside and standing over the cart to pick up the pillars, one on each arm, and step back to wait for Ronja to open up her portal and shove them in, the first going in and roughly plummeting on the ground. "My bad!" She called through, slowing down the rhythm once again just so she doesn't end up breaking anything in the process, or the very replacements they had brought.

"Alright, so I just need to break the old ones and put the new ones instead? That simple?"

A small, cheerful smile tugged on her lips as Fiora accepted the reassurement. The grasp of their hands tightened, but eventually it loosened and released, with their link parting as they started working on what they needed to tackle while the conversation regarding the rune went through-

"In this world, magic have several ways to express itself, it is very broad... Which is interesting, it makes magic seem to be an actual science, rather than just being something supernatural and with strict 'game-y' rules... But Ronja is certain we shouldn't treat Terrasphere as a game anyway." A small sigh slipped her lips, rubbing the back of her neck as she pondered.

"If Ronja's magic output is that big, maybe she could try some runes at some point. Maybe... She will need for some stuff too. Thankfully Ronja can trust on you to draw on her body." To someone else, it would've been mildly embarrassing to allow it.

Her thoughts on it soon faded, however, with the focus going for the building as the temporary structure continued to spread across the basement.

Then, her gaze and palm focused on the flooring, with a circle drawing on it and flickering before connecting two different places a the same time, in a very unique passage, with the outside being mirroed through a portal that opened and allowed the structures to be slip into the basement.

"W-Wha!" Ronja stepped back at the structure pummeling on the ground and shaking the basement, with Fiora's apology making her shake her head. "Don't worry about it, be a little careful though, we don't want to cause any structural disruption!" She said.

When Fiora was done, Ronja peeked at her through the portal.

"Exactly, we will destroy the current ones and substitute... Ronja recommends you to be quick on the replacement, since Ronja will have to bear all the weight by herself during it." She explained.

"Magic is unpredictable, it follows so many rules we don't know of and comes in so many shapes and forms. I think studying how mana works could give us a few answers, since it's the root for it's creation. Could be fun for us to dwelve on that." Fiora added, resting a hand over her hip, watching as Ronja went over what they already knew: This isn't a game and shouldn't be treated as such, but pondering too much on the obvious certainly wouldn't help them. "We are already out of our reckless new player phase anyways- Deadly game or not, I have your back and you have mine, so we'll eventually get our answers, Dr. Ronja~" She jested a little, but one day that might be a true title for the magia scientist. The thought made her cover her lips to keep her laughter in.

"I can always cover you with a towel on the places I'm not working on if that makes you more comfortable?" Fiora smiled reassuringly, lifting a finger up as she continued. "The plus side of runes is that they are very flexible on what they can do, so there should be very little I can't do for you so long as I get the right reagants. All you need to do is ask." The greenette added, rolling her shoulders once it was time to start doing some heavy lifting for once.

With her little oopsie accounted for, Fiora made it through the portal with a far more severe look on her features once she had to get herself to work, making sure her sleeves were rolled up, and systematically setting up the replacements close to where she had to put them in order to keep tabs on where everything is.

"Got it. Brace yourself then, starting on three!" She said, loud and clear, waiting three seconds before bringing down the first pillar with a harsh pull, the wood giving up just by sheer force alone. Groaning, Fiora begun to set each individual replacement where she could actually reach, given these would be the easiest compared to the ceiling.

"Hold up just a little longer!" Fiora then made use of the broken remnants they replaced as stepping stones to gain extra height to add the last touches. Sweat ran down her temples as the menacing cracking noises from the building almost screamed doom on their own, yet she didn't hesitate, knowing these cyan blue beams were still present, still holding on the structure.

And at the same time, it made her gain haste for the sake of giving Ronja a break.

"Alright I think it's looking good? We gonna need to cover up this hole over here though. It looks like something went deep and it wasn't just debris." No way there was a wooden layer setting apart the basement from the floor above, yet whatever fell on there made sure to break through and leave a crack on the ground they are standing on right now, as if a large spear had made it's way there.

"You good?" Fiora peered over to her lover with muffled concern, pulling open her ui to get her waterskin out and about, pulling the cork out and dropping about half of it's cold water over her head, drenching herself a little before stretching it out for Ronja to take.

Ronja's lips tugged in a small smile when being called 'Dr. Ronja'. and so did the consideration of her beloved, that cared for her privacy even if she wouldn't have trouble with it, at least not with Fiora. "Ronja wouldn't mind if it is with you, honey." She said, though breathing a bit erratically due to all the effort that she was going through on keeping the whole magica structure firm.

Thankfully, that was a nice distraction, making the time pass a bit faster as Fiora quickly went with the destruction and 'reconstruction' of everything that they needed to work with. The roaring sounds of the chaos were nerve-wrecking, but Ronja didn't hold back on keeping all her energy on it, with the arcane structures flickering for a moment with how rapidly Ronja's energy was fading.

Ronja gave no care for her energy bar, however, focusing to work with what she had, and managing to soften the magic output when the structures were finally placed back onto place.

"Ah... Ah... That was..." Ronja sighed, glancing at the water offered, and taking it with a faint smile as she rested her hands on her knees, taking deep breaths to calm her body down.

After a chug of the refreshing drink, she sighed and rubbed her hand on her forehead, with an eye clicking as she looked at Fiora. "Ronja is good... Thank you... Are you alright? That is very, very heavy to lift with your own body, Fiora..." She said, turning to look at her lover, then casting a glance at the hole.

"That will be a bit problematic, but Ronja will leave it for the constructs to fix."

Noticing how uneven Ronja's breathing had turned, Fiora kept her answer to a wide smile instead, tilting her head a little, and keeping the mental image of the magia's smile to keep motivating her as they both begun to pull their own weight, with Ronja straining herself to keep the building from collapsing entirely, while she worked on replacing the foundations.

Her eye widened once that glow turned faint for but a split of a second, and adrenaline forced itself through her veins. It made the lifting easier and the pillars lighter. They could keep themselves safe if the worst was to come, but failure wasn't an option if they wanted to keep the children of earlier smiling.

It was the catalyst she needed to finish the job, leaving a loud sigh off her lips moments before she offered the waterskin to her dearest, who seemed to be in a worse shape than herself. "Intense... Yeah." She replied, walking over and flopping on her rear right next to Ronja once she had gotten a good luck at the hole at the top.

"I'm not gonna lie... I got a little scared when I saw your magic flicker and-and pushing all of these on place is way harder than just lifting them." It was hard not to be left a panting mess after that, letting her lips parted, struggling to inhale only with her nose, resorting to her mouth instead. "You did great, and I think this all can't be rebuilt in a matter of an... Hour or so like we did. Could become interior designers at this point." She said, letting out a breathless chuckle, her right hand affectionately stroking Ronja's back before planting a kiss on her temples, shortly after standing back up on her feet.

Once the adrenaline begun to die off a little and Fiora could get her second or third wind by now, she stretched a hand out for Ronja to support herself with. "We could leave aid-lings working on it while we go check out the kitchen. The most important's already done here." Her thoughts then shifted over to the devilish staircase that almost got her, and added: "And their stairs too. That's gonna need a touch-up later." Fiora added.

She whinced a little as she cracked her right shoulder, giving a hand over to the aid-lings focused on cleaning up the debris by breaking them down once again to small packages for them to clean up. "Hey... You changed your suit and body a lot. Did that include your 'special' form? I remember you used it once back at the mines I think, but that was a long ago." She rubbed her chin- Almost a year ago even. "Not like you would need it. Skullbuster seems to take care of everything by itself."

A faint chuckle escaped her lips at the admittance of her lover, with her fond gaze resting on Fiora, and a small smile crossing her lips as she pondered about it. "It can be scary... But Ronja had things under control, it was just taking way more energy than she anticipated." She said, allowing herself to receive the affection her beloved offered, with the kiss making a warmth grow on her cheeks as she stood, taking Fiora's hand to balance herself back to her foot.

"We sure can." Ronja said, clapping twice to summon the Aid-Lings into action, and they quickly flew over the area and surveyed the room, soon starting to work on the damage that was done and finding a way to fix it with alchemicals and arcanamancy.

"A lot of things are going to need a touch up- This Interior Design thing... Ronja would say that we can work on it, actually. They will need some help on recovering the interior as well, so Ronja wants to make a nice place for them..." Ronja said, with her mind briefly recalling the kid that had smiled to them. "... And for her too." A faint smile tugged on her lips.

When her special form was recalled, Ronja nodded briefly.

"Her previous form spends too much Energy to use it so casually... But yes, she decided to change it a bit. She found a way to make it more energy efficient, so maybe she can use it more times." She explained. "But that means less flexibility. Ronja will make her ultra modes to focus on specific tasks, which should allow her to not waste too much energy."
