Nestled not far from where the Starcalled would often spawn in for the first time was a small village with quaint offerings of a tavern, a temple, and fresh goods in the market, not to mention a general store with a kindly owner. It all built up to scream 'Beginner Area' where there seemed to be little conflict and less trouble from the outside, like the whole world wasn't constantly in turmoil for the sake of events for players to leave their mark on the world.

It was in the tavern where Liliana found herself most often, not feeling a need, for her purposes, to travel too far from the starting point. After all, she was mostly here looking for a good time, and why go out looking for it when new faces were always cropping up not far from here? The tavern was fun, anyway, with Lily quickly making friends with the locals like it was her job, and she'd even considered becoming a tavern maid. Maybe she would, eventually, but right now she was just the local party girl.

Just around the time that she was cheering for the two burly guys currently arm-wrestling, she heard the door open and her ear twitched, calling her head to follow as she turned just in time to see a newcomer enter the tavern.

When Khora pushed her way into the tavern, it gave her a familiar sensation. She lingered around the starting area for a multitude of reasons -- to help those that were more green behind the ears than her, for a start. Second? Get insight on how people were joining the game. See if there was a pattern between the new arrivals, any connecting tying them together. Aside from that, even if she didn't want to admit it, there was some trepidation. She had grown far more social within Terrasphere, but forming any meaningful connections was...

That was something else entirely, now wasn't it?

She could laugh, joke and get along well-enough with those around her, but actually finding someone to actually comfortably venture further out into the world with? Well, that was something else entirely. Still she pushed through the familiar doors of the tavern, stepping inside to equally familiar sights and sounds. For a moment as she strode forth her eyes merely wandered, taking in all the sights, all the fresh faces, until she focused.

First, it was the two apes arm-wrestling. She'd want to get in on that; she knew those two knuckleheads pretty well and she'd slap-boxed with them from time to time. They were good people and good company, so she knew they wouldn't mind her having a go at their contest. But then her eyes wandered to the woman beside them, eyes locking with her for a second as she kept walking, passing up the table as she made her way to the bar.

Pretty.

Sliding onto a stool, she let her arms rest on the countertop as she ordered a drink, her usual mug of ale and paid up. Her fingers drummed on the countertop as she waited for her drink to arrive, her mind wandering ever so slightly.

Always watching the door when it opened, Liliana was the first to see the unfamiliar face enter the tavern. Her eyes nearly immediately dilated involuntarily. Tall, strong, pretty. What a beautiful woman she'd been blessed with. Surely this was payoff for all the waiting she did here. Unable to help herself, she joined the woman at the bar, the deerfolk maintaining eye contact as she approached, hips swaying.

"My my~ And how are you?" She was no stranger to flirting, happily taking the lead to let the other know what she was after, "I'm Liliana, but you can call me Lily." She offered a hand limply, hoping beyond hope that it would earn her a kiss to the back of her hand.

She only hoped that the woman was into other women, or looking for some fun tonight. It would be a shame if she was already taken or simply straight. How boring that would be.

"Khora." Her response was casual, friendly. Her voice was rough, holding a natural edge to it despite her friendly intonation. She flashed Liliana a smile, all teeth -- fangs on display. It was a welcoming gesture as her head tilting ever so slightly, eyes flickering over to the offered hand before her eyes locked back onto Liliana's. Her hand rose, taking hold of the offered hand and she took hold of it. She held the girl's hand for a moment, enjoying the softness of it that contrasted her own rough hands. She held Liliana's gaze for a moment before she leaned forward, kissing the back of Lily's hand before releasing it, turning away as the bartender returned with her drink.

"Doin' alright so far. Been running around a bit, decided it was time to take a break. Yourself?" She spoke casually, eyes glancing over to Lily as she took her pitcher of ale, slowly raising it to her lips before taking a sip. It wasn't the first time someone had came onto her in Terrasphere, and it wasn't the first time she'd entertained the notion of it, either. But, whether or not it'd go anywhere was another matter altogether.

A blessing of a kiss to the back of her hand had her giggling melodically. This night just kept getting better and better with the arrival of this woman. Smiling all the while, she spoke in response, "I've just been waiting here mostly. The locals are fun. I wanted to find someone fun to travel with since this game makes you walk everywhere and stuff. Walking alone is boring, so I'd rather party and wait to find someone, ya know?"

Touching the woman's muscle seemingly unprompted, she brushed it gently with her fingers back and forth only a moment, "You look strong. You're not looking for a traveling companion, are you? Maybe more...?" She added on at the end, suddenly looking away and pretending well to look a little shy about it. Still, the idea clearly filled her with delight and her expression portrayed just how down bad she was.

So, which was it?

Khora's mind had deconstructed everything she said, and was attempting to formulate an understanding of the girl's motives. On the surface, initially, she assumed it was yet another person trying to get their rocks off. Common and it wouldn't have been the first instance of Khora finding herself in such a situation. But then the talk of partying up came to be, and everything changed.

It could have been an innocuous thing, just someone merely wanting a traveling companion. After all, it was the same reason Khora was so hesitant to truly venture off -- doing so alone seemed... Aside from dangerous, miserable. But she was also aware of traps that some people used. Convincing others to party up, traveling off a ways to a secluded area only to find themselves getting 'ganked' -- sometimes outright killed -- and robbed of all their possessions.

So which was it? Was the girl just looking for some fun, a companion, or was she just bait?

"I'm not sure yet." Khora spoke casually, nothing about her tone changing or altering -- none of her scrutiny or suspicion bleeding through her words. Instead, she offered a slight smile, noticing the way the soft, slender fingers had traced across her muscles. One part of her brain said there was nothing wrong with having some fun and that she was overthinking it. The other part? She was an effective detective for a reason.

"Travelling out further than here has been on my mind, just been an issue of finding anyone that I really clicked with. After all, y'know what they say about long journeys." She laughed, her hand gently slapping down onto Lily's knee before she leaned over, hand sliding up her thigh as her expression became a playful mixture of teasing and serious. "You'd have to be able to keep up with me. Some people say I have a tendency to go a bit too hard and fast for their liking." She was talking about fighting. She was absolutely talking about fighting, really. The few times she had teamed up with others, she was always met with complaints about her rushing ahead and trying to '1v7'. It wasn't her fault they were slow and weak, now was it? But she also knew what she was implying. Her hand slid off of Lily's thigh as she leaned on the counter, an elbow on the surface as she rested her cheek on her fist.

"That is, of course, under the assumption that you're not here to drag me off where your friends are waiting to kill me or somethin'." A curveball. It would catch her off guard, and the reaction would tell Khora all she needed to know.

She just kept getting better. There was an innuendo to be found that Lily didn't bother with, just smirking as she replied. She wanted to turn that uncertainty into a sure win for both of them.

"Oh, I can keep up. I'm smarter than I seem, you know." Something seemed to change as she said that. Was it the way her tone seemed to shift away from her usual bimbo self or the way she started to carry herself? Both? After all, she was just a girl with a high libido, at the end of the day, and playing dumb was fun and interesting.

"I'd bet anything on that." She said with certainty, taking a sip of her drink and keeping her gaze on Khora all the while. Then, Khora threw a curveball and Lily knocked it out of the park anyway. Or at least, she hoped she did. She laughed, genuinely surprised,

"Hey, that's a good call. You're smart, too. But nah, nothin' like that. I'm a good girl, silly, I wouldn't do that to somebody." Then her usual cadence reappeared and suddenly it was bimbo mode again. Fishing for her to agree that she was, in fact, a good girl. But maybe Khora wouldn't because she didn't know her well enough. Another reason to travel together.

"If I could show you my friends list, I would, so you could see it was empty, but you'll just have to take my word. You know, start building trust early." She smiled happily, excited by the idea.
