Elesis shook her head as she smiled at his unsurprising yet heartwarming answer.
"Thanks Captain. Fret not, i'll at each moment square side by side with thee, but if 't be true distance suits me better I just might. Alloweths thee to dispatch justice on the wicked with nay fear of striking me by accident." She explained, considering the practical aspects of fighting at separate ranges meant Hanno and Ghast could work best with less friendlies on the way, giving how much of a one-man-army Futaba could be, as these goblins found out last time.
The exchange between Hanno and Ghast brought nostalgia to her eyes, reminders of her own cousins who would bicker in a very similar manner, made harder to avoid comparing them when both Faerin looked very similar to one another, to a certain extent.
"We art hath built different, aye. Hardly possible to compare thy ability to devour a meal and the captain's. We mortals consume our meals slower." She explained to Ghast, yet even she could tell Hanno just wanted to get a reaction out of the poor otherworldly being, case on point when she whined and the faerin complied.
It almost made her want to call out Ghast for what she's acting like, but would she eat her if called 'Hanno's Little Sister'..? Unlikely, but the last thing she wanted is to possibly infuriate the shield that protected her, or worse, offend the Lion Captain himself.
At his command, Elesis spun on her heel, swaying her tail from side to side as she directed the party towards the kitchen. Just past the double doors, one could see how different the architecture was: The floor tiles almost ressembled a classic Starcalled restaurant with it's chess board like style, even if painted hardwood flooring doesn't ressemble the ceramic used in it's real counterpart. Still, mixtures of Lander and Starcalled aesthetics can be found on the extensive kitchen. From the hanging utensils to the equivalent of a 'storage area' for non perishables and recently bought ingredients waiting to be put to use.
The layout was rectangular, surrounding a large cauldron at the center that rests above an unlit fire, with two ancient (by their standards) ovens faced opposite of one another. A few windows were left open as to ventilate the room better, yet one could tell it gets quite heated up inside this room, like in most kitchens, hence the considerable distance between the storage room and the kitchen requiring a corridor and a separate set of doors to reach.
Elesis clapped her hands together, turning around to face them both, backpedaling to save some time.
"Aaalright! I'll start by getting us some ingredients, then we can decideth what to cook. Cometh, i'll showeth thee both so thee knoweth if 't be true i'm busy." She turned around, eyes wide as a yelp escaped her mouth the moment she bumped her leg against the cauldron and stumbled away on one leg, almost knocking it off on the process.
"AaaaAHa- Sorry!" Dropping her act for a second, panic forced her to clear her throat, making her step away faster and faster towards the storage room.
Within, one could find a far more modest room with many ingredients stashed within sacks and crates alike, most with their lids open, aswell as some barrels filled with water. Somehow, this room was fresher than the rest they had stumbled into.
"Alloweth me to findeth out who is't shall winneth. Lady Ghast versus Captain Futaba. Let's goth!"
Cycle 0 - Cooking Time Mechanics
To prepare for the festival, we need food. For food, we need ingredients.
Every Cycle you may choose to use a
Main Action to cook a set of meals of varying complexities (Stating which type is used on the roll). The more complex the meal is, the more points you score towards the objective:
- Simple Meals: Cost 10 Ingredients and grant +1 to the Objective
- Homechef Meals: Cost 20 Ingredients and grant +2 to the Objective
- Pro Chef Meals: Cost 30 Ingredients and grant +3 to the Objective.
To gather Ingredients, use a main action to roll a
3d20 + 10, with every 20 points on your
Base Fortitude granting an extra 1d20.
@Hanno Futaba, being an experienced chef, uses 5 less ingredients for any kind of meal he makes. He can also make use of
Ghast and, as a
Bonus Action, send her to gather ingredients at a flat
2d20.
Hanno's Challenge: Once food is prepared, the aroma will become increasingly
tempting to
@Ghast. Every Cycle (starting on
Cycle 1) she must roll a
DC 50 Will Save to resist the temptation using Hanno's Will modifier. Ghast's excitement grants her
Advantage against this save and can choose to
Auto-Succeed on a failure a total of
4 times. Every point on the Objective
rises the DC by 5.
