Curiosity was natural for people. Anyone would wonder why people would want to play a game like this, even if just briefly. The difference was that some would pursue that question until an answer was found while others would give up, and state that they simply can't understand. Whichever category did Mai fall into? She didn't have an answer for that just yet.

"Who knows, maybe I'll find my answer soon and stop playing then. I am sure many people had it like that. Not everyone is willing to risk their lives, no matter how alluring this place might be. I haven't decided yet."

Especially since she had no real ties to this world yet. As someone who labeled herself an observer, it felt like she could cut herself off from Terrasphere easily, and at any moment. Whether that would be the case once push came to shove, was an entirely different question, however. Still, right now she would focus on what was right in front of them - a beginner town for players to visit, it seemed. The magia tilted her head a bit.

"Skin..? Are we gonna be talking to an elder... or a zombie?"

She giggled slightly in response to the girl's question. She wasn't sure how the girl had come to the conclusion of elder or zombie, although Kyra had to admit perhaps that was their experience...still, it was funny.

"Neither...at least, not yet. I'm sure you'll run into the village elders at some point in time, but she's just...well, she has vitiligo, and sometimes newcomers give it more attention than it deserves. Just...don't stare, or mention it, and she'll like you fine."

Kyra continued to lead her past the edges of the hamlet, and towards the central area. Honeyhome was as it ever was, small and homely. A few individuals moved throughout the roadways, giving small waves and smiles as they passed by. Kyra returned them, before beginning to explain the area to the newcomer.

"Honeyhome doesn't have much to offer in the way of grandiose experiences...it has your basics though, an inn to stay at, a blacksmith to purchase metalwork from, a general store to purchase basic supplies...everything you'd need when just starting out."

She waved towards some distant buildings as she mentioned each of them, guessing that the newcomer would jump on one of those over the others. She was still curious to see what the girl would suggest, however, and waited patiently, slowly her steps as they moved further and further into the central area.

So that was what was up. Nothing special then. Mai simply nodded and kept on walking by Kyra's side. It seemed that she got a bit overly excited that she would see something unique, but it ended up being nothing more than just a skin defect that existed in the real world. Though that did only add to just how realistic this game was.

"Mm, those all sound like standard town buildings of interest. I suppose I should visit each one of them, later on, to have a look around."

The tavern would probably be especially helpful as that was where people often gathered. Which, in turn, hopefully, meant another player who would be able to show the magia how to open up her menu and all that, seeing how Kyra apparently did not know despite clearly not being a newbie.

"Where are going now anyway? Who's Marneeta?"

She probably should have asked the moment she heard that name for the first time. It seemed rather imperative that she would know where they were going, especially in a world that was apparently very untrustworthy and with dangers around every corner.

The hamlet was quiet as always, leaving them more than enough room to move throughout. Kyra spotted the inn itself, not far ahead, the front door open against the cool air. She grinned - both in response to the girl's question, as well as to the general happy feeling that was overtaking her.

"Oh...she's just a Lander from around here. Does a bit of work at the general store every...Wednesday? I can't remember. Nice lady, all in all. Just don't upset her - she often works with the local militia to defend the hamlet, and she's known for her...strength."

She'd started to drift towards the inn, figuring they'd find someone of interest there. The newcomer had stuck with her this far, but Kyra had somewhere to be shortly - somewhere she knew the newcomer wouldn't want to be, if they had a choice. Most likely.

"Hey...so, I've got to attend this meeting shortly. There's an inn over here where a few people I know tend to move throughout, I figured we could pop in and see if one of them are there - they could give you a bit of an introduction to the game. If not, well, you might be able to find someone else who can give you some tips and pointers. Not that I don't want to, it's just...meeting. But..."

She fiddled with the UI for a few moments, her left hand moving awkwardly as she brought up the menu, and attempted to get the request sent out.

Notice

Kyra Vashtana has sent you a friend request!

She smiled at the other player as she managed to get it sent off, before continuing her train of thought.

"...if you want, you can reach out to me any time with any questions you may have! So long as I'm around I'll send you a quick response, or drop by if I'm in the area!"

The whole place was pretty nice, she had to admit. Pretty homely, even if that was what she came to expect from a starting zone of a game. The starting zones were always far more welcoming than whatever the end-game was. This was good since it seemed she would spend at least some time in the inn, regardless of whether she wanted to or not.

"Got it. Though I wasn't planning on being disrespectful, to begin with. But having even more pointers to help direct me will be nice, so thank you."

The reason for this hurried explanation was also quickly disclosed. Her guide had to leave, which was quite a shame. Nothing that could be done about it, though. Mai did recall Kyra mentioning that she simply made a detour on her way to some other goal when the magia spawned in. Now that they were in what seemed to be a safe zone, that detour had to end. The girl watched the other player fumble around a bit before something appeared on her screen. A friend request!

"Ah, so you do know how to use the UI. Good."

She poked a bit of fun at Kyra's expense but did it with a well-intentioned smile. It also taught her how to open the menu up on her own, since the healer did not explain any of that up until now. The power of observing someone else was already showing its fruit. The fox's movements might have been awkward, but Mai only needed a general gist of things to refine it all later. Opening up her own menu, she accepted the request and smiled a bit more.

"Thank you for your time. I'm sure we will meet again at some point if I'm still playing. You're really interesting, so I would like to watch you some more."

Hopefully, that did not sound too weird, stalkery, or serial murder-ish. Either way it was probably the end of their meeting, so she made sure to properly bid the fox a farewell before she would turn around and started exploring the inn itself some more.
