Lucy's mouth dropped open, "HOLD ON. You know Brutus?! Woah, this world is small! Tell me about your adventures with him, how did you meet him? What did you guys do?!" Lucy was always excited to hear about the adventure of others, especially when it involved people she cared about. Toko had quickly become one of those she cared for, and Brutus was on the list as well.

As the two talked and walked, Lucy would eventually end up next to the two staircases, surely they both had cute critters that Lucy would value as more than gold, right? Lucy nudged Toko and nodded towards the stairs, "Shall we go up or down first, my lady?" She did a small curtesy, before laughing, "Doing that kind of stuff is fun, you should try it sometime. Oh my! Do you think Terrasphere ever holds balls?" If they did hold balls, Lucy would dare to wonder how much fun it would be if her and Toko went to one.

"A-Ah... yeah, I met him a while back. I stay at an inn on Honeyhome, and I like giving out a hand to the Landers when possible—it was during one time, helping them clean debris after a storm, that I met him."

She supposed the same saying of the real world also applied here in The World, we all lived in a small world it seemed. Then again considering how charismatic and outgoing Brutus was the Lepus wasn't surprised in the slightest that his name had already gotten around as he'd met person after person.

"He's a really good guy~"

She was content to follow the redhead around as they explored the first floor of the shop, occasionally leaning in to get a better look at a cute young critter here and there, before their casual browsing lead them to the stairs in the back. "Mmm... maybe the downstairs first?" She was curious to see what animals would be hidden there, of if the store carried other things stocked in the lower level instead.

"B-Balls, huh...?"

Did the game had such things? While the idea of a ball sounded interesting, and so did the dressing up part, Nao couldn't help but feel slightly nervous at the thought of actually dancing in a ball. The girl was entirely sure she had two left feet, and with little practice or knowledge Toko was pretty sure she'd make a fool of herself.

The thought of dancing at a ball with Toko was an entertaining thought indeed. Lucy wasn't aware that Toko wasn't a good dancer, though she herself had never attempted ball room dances either. "Even if no one knew how to dance, I imagine it would be fun to just be around people. Dancing however it felt right! Wearing long and flowy dresses. It just sounds like a perfect social evening in my opinion."

The downstairs held a different vibe than the upstairs, while the upstairs was well-lit and full of fluffy tiny and cute animals... The downstairs had a darker vibe to it, the lights more dim with a slight red-orange hue. The animals down here were in larger containments, most of them being in the young adult range. However the biggest difference was that all the monsters here were exotic. Not a single cat, dog, hamster or anything that the normal pet shops had was here. Instead, it was filled with tigers, lions, wolves, massive harpies, even a few beasts that those with beast arts would be interested in.

Lucy would quip up, "Well this is different... I've never seen a tiger before..." She walked up to the containment that the tiger was in, putting her hand against the glass. He put his paw up, resting it also against the glass.

At least one of the two was excited at the prospect of a fancy ball, the Lepus softly nodding as the redhead spoke while the headed down the stair to the new place. It's not that she didn't think it would be a fun idea or event, but considering Toko lacked experience with such things she just wasn't sure how she'd feel about it... not unless they ever got the chance to attend one, at least.

"Ah, this is certainly a different vibe... ne?"

Her eyes quickly adjusted to the darker atmosphere, easily able to pick up on the smallest details even in the current dim light that barely illuminated the place. She had thought it would be something like this, expecting the shop's cooler cellar to probably function as a nice place for any reptile of amphibian creatures the pet shop might have on stock... but the very exoctic selection present hadn't been something the Lepus had accounted for.

"Whao, are some of these even legal to sell...?"

Yup, the vibes here were a total 180° from the cute baby animals the main floor of the shop had on display.

Lucy gleefully looked back at Toko, "I imagine almost everything is legal in Terrasphere, though I could be wrong... They seem to be happy, or well this one does..." She pointed to the tiger, a few others seemed grumpy, but overall they seemed to be well-taken care of.

That in the least made Lucy feel better about these naturally free-roaming critters to be up for adoption or contracts. To be honest, seeing the tiger behind the glass made Lucy feel just a twinge of sadness. The free-roamers should be in their natural habitat not behind some frame of glass. "The more I think about them being down here, the more sad I get. We should go back upstairs before I act on my urge to free all of them.."

Lucy had a frown toying with her lips as she went back to Toko's side, "Maybe we can come back another day..." She muttered softly, thinking of the possibility of a heist with all of her friends!

Toko wasn't sure that 'happy' would be her word of choice to describe the various exotic animals hidden in the basement of the shop, but the Lepus kept those thoughts to herself as she watched Lucy touch the glass dividing her from the tiger on the other side. "Yeah, probably best to go back up before we do something stupid..." She even felt bad for the captive harpies, dangerous as the monsters could be Toko honestly felt no need to entrap or kill them if they weren't actively making someone's life miserable or dangerous.

Everything had its place in the natural balance of things, after all.

A soft chuckle escaped Toko as the girls headed back up the stairs, turning when they reached the main floor to continue upwards into whatever secrets the top room of the shop held. "... yeah, I think we should." There were a few people that Toko was somewhat certain would probably sign up if they ever decided to play freedom fighter for the captive creatures.

Lucy's eyes twinkled, an animal heist?! Although she wouldn't be much help. She wasn't suited for fighting or heists or really all that much action. Stairs turned into more stairs as the girls made their way to the top floor. This one being tailored to birds and rodents of all kinds. Lucy had immediately made her way to where the bunnies were. She would call for an attendant so she could hold one, moving her way back to Toko once she had it in her arms.

"It's my favorite animal!" She pet the cute fluffy bunny, leaving room in case Toko wanted to join her in petting the carrot lover. "Hey! Do you guys have any carrots or yogurt treats?"

The attendant ended up bringing back two types of treats, in which Lucy would ask Toko to pick which one. When the treat was picked, Lucy would shuffle to leave the bunny in Toko's hands (whether or not she had pet the thing). She picked up the treat and gently held it in front of the bunny's nose, watching in amusement as it was twitching.

"Ah, this is certainly better..."

The top floor felt like the exact opposite to the room the girls had found on the bottom floor, the layout open and bright as different songs were tweeted by the various birds around. Toko moved slowly, peering into many of the colorful varieties present as she admired their, plumage, before turning to look at Lucy as she bounded over with a rabbit in her arms.

"Yeah, bunnies are really kawaii~"

Softly her fingers scratched the top of the rabbit's head, before she was surprised as Lucy suddenly shifted the tiny herbivore into Toko's arms. "Uuuuh... I guess the yogurt one?" Carefully the Lepus held the little hare, watching as it seemed to sniff the offered treat before beginning to nibble on it.

In a way she supposed the sight must have been somewhat comical, a rabbitfolk holding a rabbit in her arms was probably not a common sight.

The bunny nommed on the treat until it was gone, making Lucy make an audible "awwwwww", relishing the delight over the cute behavior of the critter. Overall, her take-home feelings and memories of the pet shop would be over the moon. "So, Toko. What's your favorite animal?"

She began to pet the bunny's head with two of her fingers as she made small talk with her new friend. Everything around the two was chattering up a storm (the birbs, at least). Lucy was never a super big fan of birbs, granted she still loved them, but if she had to choose between a birb and another animal. She would most of the time pick the other animal.

After Toko would have answered, Lucy would have come up with a couple more question. Though they were all different and had nothing to do with anything either of the two were doing. The next one being, "What's your favorite snack and drink!?"

By asking small questions, hopefully Lucy would get the chance to ask deeper questions as well. She wanted to get to know more people and make amazing friends. By both memories of what they do together and conversation.

"Mine...?" She had been watching Lucy interact with the bunny currently in Toko's arms, the Faerin's delight almost palpable to the touch, before her question caused the Lepus to think for a moment. "I do like usagi like this one since they're cute... but if I were to pick a favorite it'd be a kawaii neko~"

Perhaps it was due to the maneki neko that could be found throughout Japan, but ever since Nao had been small she had always loved the nimble felines the most. They were independent and carefree, able to go about life on their own if needed, so whenever one actually chose to spend time with the girl she couldn't help but feel chosen and blessed.

The birds around them continued their songs, the rabbit eventually handed back to Lucy as Toko moved to look into a few cages. Many had feathers of various colors and patterns, and their cries varied too from the annoying screech of parrots to the delightful melodies of canaries.

"Ah, favorite snack and drink...?" She took a moment to mull it over. "Well IRL that'd be a ramune and an onigiri, nothing beats that combination." CHoosing a particular ongiri stuffing though was a lot harder. "Here though I'm not sure... but I usually like any sweets or teas that Esther has prepared for the day in her bakery~"

It was probably why she stopped by the place almost every day, the woman could certainly cound on a weekly stipend from the Lepus being spent there.

"What about you, Lucy?"

Comments were exchanged by Lucy as she expressed her love for cats. They were pretty cute, especially the one that her and Brutus had gotten as reward. Crow was the best kitty anyone could ever ask for. Upon getting the bunny back in her arms, she would snuggle him up to her face. Giving him endless compliments and coo's.

God... This thing has reaaaallly soft fur. Gahhh! I love bunnies. She rested the bunny back down, following Toko as she made her way through the floor. Lucy reminisced in her own memories of eating her favorite snack and drink. Although she hadn't tried very many Asian snacks, she really did enjoy the ones she had.

Lucy stuck her tongue out, "my favorite snack is carrots! And my favorite drink is apple juice! It's the best on the entire planet, I can't live without them." Lucy began to exaggerate her movements, holding the bunny in one hands now against her waist. She used her left hand to fan her face.

Carrots and apple juice...?

That's actually kind of kawaii... very fitting for her.

The Lepus couldn't help but chuckle softly as she watched the bubbly Faerin, seemingly in her zone with a bunny on her hip as they perused the pet shop. "Lucky~ Kittens are absolutely adorable, I'm glad Brutus and you are giving them a good home." As it was a stray in the real world already had quite the few problems to survive on their own—it must've been harder still in The World with the threat of wolves, bears and goblins.

Seeing all these cute animals almost made Toko want one for herself... but considering she lived in a rented room on Mabelle's inn, and was often busy with quests from the Guild and whatnot, Toko felt that wit would simply be too irresponsible of her to have a pet in this world... especially considering how realistic everything was.

Lucy handed the bunny gently back to the shopkeeper before she returned to Toko's side. "Me too, Crow is lucky to have a sibling like Tiger! They're both just... So cute!" Lucy was happy with the thoughts that filled her mind, of the two kittens and how they interacted with each other.

It was definitely a good home for the kitties, and they could stay together forever! Perfect! "Do you have any pets in the game, or in the real world? I'd love to hear about them if you do... Like when you got them, their names and how they act!"

Lucy could talk about animals forever, with how absolutely adorable they were. Unfortunately she didn't have a pet of her own, besides the strays she oftentimes fed at the end of her nights. Though this all happened in the ally closest to her shop, staying in an apartment she didn't have the space to give an animal the right kind of life style.

"Iie, obaachan had dander allergies so we never got a pet because of it." Slowly they began making their way mack to the main floor of the pet shop and, eventually, back out to the quiet and well decorated street.

"There was a stray neko that would hang around the yard though. She liked to garden at it was good at keeping vermin away, so obaachan would leave some food out for it now and again." It had proven to be quite beneficial to have such a relationship with the stray. "It was a gray marble tabby with the most gorgeous green eyes too."

A look was given up and down the street as the Lepus tried to figure in which direction to go, finally deciding to go left as they still had to actually reach the Guild... that was where they were going, right?

"What about you, Lucy? You certainly like animals, do you have any back in the real world where you live?"

It seemed as though Toko had a most unfortunate childhood, as she had been unable to get a pet. However the presence of the stray cat seemed to make Lucy feel a tad bit better for the poor bunny girl. "Did you guys end up naming the stray?"

Lucy followed Toko as she took them left, now it was her turn to answer. "I feed all the strays in my area right now, though when I was younger I did have a little bunny! He was the cutest, unfortunately he ended up passing away. I have yet to get a pet in the real world yet, though here I have Scarey Crow Jr. as you know."

Lucy smiled as they carried on, "We should probably ask around to see if someone knows where it is. I know we could just explore, but before we know it.. It'll be night, and I'd have yet to see the guild your in!" Lucy laughed at the thought before she called out for the Lander that was about to pass by the two girls.

"Mmm, I'm not sure if it classified as a name... though I'd often call him Haiiro-chan since his fur was mostly gray colored."

Whether the cat ever recognized the word as his name, or simply came running over upon hearing it due to the implication that food would be received, was anyone's guess... though Nao hadn't seen him in the last few months after her grandmother had passed on.

"Yeah, pets can be a really big responsibility... but I'm glad that you have Scarey Crow Jr. now, and that Brutus has their sibling so they can keep one another company." COntrary to popular believe cats were quite the social creatures, Nao was sure she'd read a few times how most recommended adopting kittens out in pairs to make the transition easier for the young ones. "You're right... better ask now before we spend another three hours wandering around Finweald instead."

A hand waved towards the Lander passing them by to catch the man's attention, the Lepus giving a soft "Sumimasen..." before continuing on to ask for the required directions. It took a few moments, but eventually the Lepus felt confident enough that she finally had a good grasp on where they were, and by extension where the Guild's headquarters were, before a hand softly grabbed Lucy's own.

"Follow me, we'll be there before you know it this time around~"
