Remy stood his ground, his eyes trained on the goblin horde that was approaching from the darkness before he took a couple of steps back. The second that he had dropped the bone barrier the goblins had leaped into action, throwing themselves at him. However, Fenrir proved to be the quicker and Remy's eyes opened wide in surprise as he watched her easily dispatch a goblin with a single kick of her foot.

A small chuckle escaped his lips as he then watched her begin to taunt the remaining goblins by using the head she had just decapitated as a soccer ball, bouncing it off her foot. He shook his head ever so slightly before turning his attention back to the goblins, his zombies moving behind three of them and in unison plunged the crude weapons that they were holding into the vital organs of the goblins in front of them. This time, however, their actions had been noticed by the horde who turned on them and savagely ripped them limb from limb.

A soft sigh escaped his lips as he watched the first three undead that he created in this world get destroyed. He hadn't cared for the creatures, they were just undead creations of his, but they had been the first ones he had ever made, the first step on his path to being a true overlord of death. However, in response to the death of his zombies, Remy lifted his hand once again "Arise", and the three goblins that had just been killed by his zombies ignited in a green flame that burned away the flesh of the creatures leaving on their skeletons, all of which had a pale green glow illuminating from within their eye sockets.

Turning away from the goblin horde, Remy looked around the cavern for a moment before closing his eyes, he could feel the souls of the goblins that had just killed filling the area around them. Opening his eyes as he activated his spirit magic mastery, he looked around the room once again. It only took him a second to locate the souls, and a sadistic smile spread across his face as he did so. He then lifted his hands and forcibly summoned the deceased souls back to the world of the living as ghosts under his command.

Now that he had three skeleton goblins and the ghosts of three goblins under his command, Remy turned his attention back to the goblin horde before him and chuckled "Boo" he said before the three ghosts shot past him and towards the horde. The goblins tried to attack the ghosts but since they were immune to physical attacks, their hands and weapons passed harmlessly through them. The same could not be said for the goblins however as the ghosts began to rip apart the closest goblins to them, throwing blood, entrails, and organs all over the area around them.

The sight was ghastly and slightly disgusting, but Remy simply crossed his arms and watched the three skeletal goblins moving over to his side to act as bodyguards should any of the horde get too close to him. With these abilities under his command, the horde would dwindle in no time flat, especially with a capable ally such as Fenrir, however, Remy wasn't satisfied. He wouldn't be satisfied until he reigned supreme over the forces of life and death as a true necromancer should.

Three goblin zombies struck in quick motions as she taunted. But they didn't last very long. The horde were quick to strike and attack the zombies. But her eyes fell on Remy, it seemed that he had already been plotting something, and brought three new weapons to the field. The flames burned and allowed three skeletons to rise, but as he said boo, she took notice of the ghosts rushing by and harrassing the goblins. They were meticuluous in how they went about ripping apart the bodies. The skeletals had taken up guard positions to protect him.

She gave one last flick of the goblins head, before twisting her body, and kicking the head at a small group, her right arm flailed as it straightened, calling forth lightning to burst from the tips of her fingers and strike the head. The burst into pieces, scattering bursts of lightning across the small group it had been homed in on. The lightning rushing through their bodies and into the ground, but they certainly felt the effects of it. Numbness taking them over, a struggle to move their bodies as they felt paralysis taking them slightly.

She could hear the numbers dwindling, but she knew this wasn't everything. Her ears were picking up details she couldn't see. But she could heard the louder steps, the louder grunts of a larger goblin growing impatient. Was it the leader? Or was he a captain of sorts, if goblins even had such ranks. But as she stepped forwards, she pushed her hands forward, interlinking her fingers before twisting her wrists to push the interlinked hands around, palms facing outwards. Since he wanted to hang back, she supposed it was up to her to deal with everything that was in the front.

Aeromancy revolved around the manipulation of air and lightning, creating and controlling them. But it was hard to be pinpoint with such things like air. It could cause more harm than good, especially in such a place. But she brought her hands across her torso forming an x shape, and balling her fists. She threw those hands out, fingers outstretched as a burst of razor sharp wind pushed from her hands, slicing limbs from rushing goblins, cutting through fatty tissue and slicing them open. The unfortunate ones who were directly around her were not so fortunate to get off with such wounds as the razor sharp wind tore through them, tearing up the bodies with no care for what was around.

Remy stood his ground and crossed his arms as he watched the scene that unfolded before his eyes, what had started out as a fight was quickly turning into a one-sided massacre on their part. The walls of the cave were quickly turning red, almost as if someone had come in and decided to paint the interior. The destruction that his ghosts were doing bordered one disgusting, the sound of wet clumps of flesh connecting with a stone surface could be heard everywhere as they savagely ripped apart the goblins standing in their path.

His attention was then brought back to Fenrir who was cutting through the goblins with the same ease that his ghosts were, her excellent command of the wind and lighting that she had been using this whole time was astounding. It was even more impressive when you took into consideration that she was a brand-new player who had just started right before Remy ran into her. A smile spread across his face as with every new goblin that was killed, another ghost appeared in the room and started to tear into another living goblin, it was a vicious cycle that only benefitted him.

The sound of heavy footsteps drew Remy's attention back to the opening of the cavern that they were in as his eyes narrowed slightly. Three goblins that were significantly larger than the rest of the others stepped into the room, another feature that set these three apart was the fact that they were wearing rusty armor and holding better weapons. Their weapons were still in terrible condition by any adventurers' standards, but they were better than the crude stone blades that the rest were carrying.

From what he knew about goblin species, which wasn't a lot just what he had learned from reading light novels and watching fantasy anime and movies in the real world, these were known as hobgoblins. They were larger and stronger species of goblin, and they acted like middle management in the goblin hierarchy society. The three hobgoblins stepped into the room, roughly pushing the other goblins out of the way as they made their way towards Remy and Fenrir, drool dripping from their maws and their sinister snarling filling the air.

Remy narrowed his eyes once again as he directed five of the ghosts that he now commanded toward the first of the three hobgoblins that were making their way toward him. Normally it would have been able to easily overpower these smaller, and weaker goblins but as they were now incorporeal ghosts its attacks didn't faze them at all. Remy had to stop himself from laughing out loud at the confused look on the hobgoblin's face as its blade passed clean through the ghosts, but they didn't stop attacking it. It only took a matter of seconds before it lay dead at his feet, the light fading from its eyes as Remy's flashed with a dangerous light, and a sinister sneer spread across his face as he watched the other two without moving.

Fall. They all fall. Like a wild beast hunting it's prey, the caenis beastfolk was quick with her movements, as if this is what she thrived on, as if this was the reason for her existence, the thrill and anticipation of battle that lurked within this cave, or perhaps it was that if she stopped moving, stopping fighting, it would be over, she would be overrun, killed and stomped out. But exactly what happened when a player died? It almost had her curious, but dying on your first day had quite the dull taste to it.

Her chest lifted and fell with a deep breath as she was slightly slouched, hands resting on knees. It didn't matter how many they killed, more just continued to fill the spaces.
"Like a damn hydra, huh?"

The beastfolk commented, regarding the mythical beasts ability to multiply it's head when you removed one. It was endless, and it was starting to struggle for someone like her who relied on being up close. She had taken a few nicks in the proceeding battles from ushering out wind, to now. Remy's ghosts had continued their work, having no stamina if any. Of the two he was in better shape, and when the faint trumming sound she had been hearing for a while had gotten louder and louder, before three larger goblins entered, signalled a worry for her.

But was there really a reason to worry now? The ghosts took care of one, making it look easy. They wittled it down, caused it to exhaust itself since it couldn't harm the ghosts. The other two hadn't moved with Remy began to laugh, she didn't bother looking, as one of the hobgoblins had stepped forward, it's attention focused on her. The splatters of blood on her hands, arms and legs were noticable, but it was the splotches across her face that had been clearly wiped that brought it closer. As the hobbe' stood over her, her head had lowered. But the fight hadn't left her.

She began to contort the lightning energy around her. Her right heel slightly shifting her foot as the beastfolk activated her dynamism to burst around like a bolt of lightning, the echo of her voice imitating that of a wolf's howl. As the howling like sound stopped, she came into view, making use of the aeromancy's skills to gain temporary flight, using it to leap upwards. Her hands rising above her head, and hands clasping together. She was going for brute force over precise striking, driving the balled together hands into the helmet clad head, causing sever damage with the item of protection.

The blow knocked the hobbe off balance causing it to stagger as the beastfolk found her way to the ground, she took a second to catch her breath. She knew in her head how important breathing was to carry you through something, carrying you that extra motion when it felt like you just couldn't. There was a swish of her tail as her right forearm moved against her nose, wiping against the drying blood on her face.
"This is crazy! My hands are stinging!"

She confessed while complaining. She could feel a numbness forming in her hands, making them a little weaker, her hands struggled to ball into fists now, but that was to be expected with the crude rusted armour that she had struck with her full strength, bare fists. She gave a shake of her head. It didn't matter, she had to stop this hobgoblin here and now!

Remy stood his ground as he stared down the horde that appeared to be never-ending, a frustration growing in his stomach as he nodded his head at the comment that Fenrir made. She wasn't wrong as it felt like for every goblin that they killed, another two took its place, for all they knew that might have only made the smallest of dents in the number of goblins that lived in this cave. A soft growl emitted from within his throat as he thought about it before shaking his head, from what he had seen in the goblin's memories he knew there would be a lot of them but not this many.

The outer appearance of the cave hadn't even suggested that it was large enough to hold this many goblins in it, his eyes shifted towards Fenrir and watched her take on one of the hobgoblins that approached her. Remy's eyes widened slightly as he watched her connect her bare fists with the crude armor that the hob was wearing, just knowing that it had to be painful, he was more than sure that by the end of this fight her hands would be a broken mess at the rate that things were going. He then turned his attention back to the goblins around them and narrowed his eyes slightly.

His frustration built until finally, he had had enough of this, the ghosts that he had summoned were making short work of the goblin horde since they couldn't be harmed by them, but things were still moving too slowly for him. "Pain Area" he said as he activated his Dark Magic mastery, tendrils of dark energy slowly began to rise off of his body as his spell took effect and a second later every goblin in the cavern they were in fell to the ground, their agonized screams filling the air and bouncing off the stone walls as their bodies writhed in pain.

A small smile spread across his face as he watched the disgusting creature in their pain throes, it brought him a bit of satisfaction knowing that he was the architect of their torture. He then turned his attention back to Fenrir as the ghosts that he had summoned began to make even quicker work of the goblin horde now that they couldn't move and smiled slightly "We should have an easier time of it like this, you should also be able to dispatch that hob quicker as well" he said before turning his attention back to the corpse of the hob that his ghost army had killed.

"Can't let good materials go to waste now, can we?" he said as he raised his hand and activated his animancy mastery calling the ghost of the hobgoblin back to the earthly plane and adding it to his army. A smile spread as he slowly began to walk through the horde that now lay on the ground and towards the exit to the cavern "The Goblin King awaits" he said as he rounded the corner and disappeared into the darkness.

Hands felt numb, the throbbing of skin and muscle was uncomfortable to feel. The struggling issues to grip hands into fists was annoying, but expected. Playing with the pain sensors on was a strange idea, but it immersed you in the world a little more than what it would normally. Maybe you would be more careful, maybe you wouldn't. Who knew what would become of your mental psyche at this point. Her breathing had been calm, keeping her composed as she could be. The flow of adrenaline that rushed through her was trying to tip her over the edge but at the moment that Remy's words flowed, and he cast his action, her eyes widened.

There it was. The opening. He created an opening for her to strike, and for him to weaponise the hobbe he had taken down. As Remy went to work on animating the corpse she linked numb fingers, and stretched her back, curling her fingers outwards. Trying to force the blood within to work once more and bring about feeling, although for what she was about to try, perhaps it was better that she kept her hands numb. As she approached the hob, her hands had been parted, cracks of lightning sparking around her fists. Trying to use the aeromancy to nullify the numbness she felt so she could achieve what she was going to try.

Fenrir was quick to activate her Dynamism mastery as she began to lay into the hobgoblin that was writhing in pain. The movement of her arms blurring as arms repeatedly swung. Fists blurring in a combination, before her hips started twisting her body before hands pushed upwards delivering the final destructive blow as her body twisted in a circle. The burst of flesh, organs and blood spraying across the cavern from her action, but as she came to her landing, the blood that had erupted her had almost completely covered her in it's scent and partially congealed state. A disgusting state.

Even shaking herself ferociously, she couldn't fully rid herself of the state she was in. Her arms were heavy, aching. Her hands hung limp, she couldn't even flex a motion with the hands they were hurting so much. The bare hands showed signs of bursting at the knuckles, while bruising was forming all across the flesh of her outer hands.
"Ow ow... Guess I should hurry and catch up..?"

The beastfolk asked herself before pushing her body forward and moving in an awkward jog as arms wiggled by her side. It wouldn't have taken her long to find him, but he would have heard her coming. The repeated strains of her groaning and complaining about her arms and hands would have given her away, at the very least... The Goblin King couldn't hear her, right?

Right?

Remy slowly walked through the dark corridor of the cave system never uttering a word, the three skeletons that he had reanimated moving with him in a defensive formation. His mind had a single purpose that it was trained upon, destroying the goblin king and getting out of this infested cave. The filth of the goblins had even polluted the air making it foul with stench and he couldn't wait to get out of it as it felt like if he stayed there, he would be suffocated by the stench.

As he walked through the dark and silent corridor, the silence was broken by the complaining that Fenrir was doing from the injuries that she had sustained during their skirmish in the cavern. He had to admit that fighting the way that she did, barehanded without thought to what it would do to her body was slightly insane, especially when you took into consideration that she was complaining about the pain which told him that she was playing with the pain setting on. Remy himself was playing with the pain setting on as well, however, he stayed to the rear during a fight and allowed his summons to fight for him, that was how a necromancer should do battle after all, only joining in from a distance.

A small sigh escaped his lips as he came to a stop, closing his eyes and tilting his head back for a second, he thought about what he could do to remedy the situation. He would need Fenrir at her best when they came to the goblin king, anything less and the two of them would probably be killed since he was most likely guarded by the strongest goblins and hobgoblins that were inhabiting the cave, he was their king after all, so it only made sense. Turning around slowly he looked at Fenrir in silence for a second before he lifted his arm and pointed at her activating his soul magic mastery, as he did three of the goblin ghosts under his command rushed at her and entered her body.

Once the three goblins entered her body, their very essence dispersed throughout her body and filled it with strength and energy once again. If she looked down, she would see the wounds on her knuckles slowly disappearing as they healed themselves Remy used the souls of the goblins under his command to heal and reinvigorate her so that she would once again have the strength to fight. This took more of a toll on him than he thought it was going to and he almost stumbled, but he caught himself and only swayed a bit and he knew that he was running low on magical energy.

He shook his head slightly to push away the fatigue and dizziness that had just overcome him suddenly, he was still a new player himself so it wasn't like he had an unlimited amount of magic that he could command either. He looked and Fenrir for a moment "Is that better?" he asked after a moment before turning his attention back down the corridor in the direction that they were heading "We will be at the King soon so be ready for anything. I don't know what's going to be guarding him, but you can bet that it will be stronger than anything we have encountered yet" he said before turning and heading back down the corridor towards the Goblin King that awaited them.

Carrying heavy limp arms was certainly a pain, and no doubt it was annoying to hear. For someone who hadn't taken time to explore something easier to equip herself with something to wear to at least protect her hands a little more it was surprising that they hadn't fully just been obliterated from her wrists with how used they had been. Even weapons took time to strengthen and work well, and improper care of them resulted in broken items that couldn't be used.

She had caught up to Remy and noticed that he had stopped, he must have heard her complaints down the corridors, before deciding to remedy the situation. With the wave of a gesture, the three ghosts that had followed him rushed to her causing the beastfolk to step backwards, before feeling the ghosts enter her body, and begin the healing process of her arms and hands. The flesh melding together as the bruising faded. It took a moment to process how quickly it had actually happened. The quick action brought her hands up as eyes looked them over, taking notes that her hands were back to how they were before they entered the cave.

The only issue she had now was that she was still bloodied and smelling like goblin.

Fenrir didn't notice the slip in energy from Remy as she investigated her hands in a nonchalant manner, hearing the question, she blinked, nodding. Her hands gripping and releasing the air within her palms before lowering her hands. Remy had posed the theory that the king would have something pretty strong on his side which posed a big issue. The question was what it was, and how strong it would be. She hoped that it wouldn't have any armour on, she could deal with that, she wasn't skilled enough to strike with deadly precision, but she could punch her way through if she needed to. As Remy began to walk, she followed suit.
"Well, whatever it is, we'll just have to deal with it, we've come this far."

Remy slowly made his way through the dark tunnel; his pace had slowed considerably with his feet feeling heavy as cement blocks from the exhaustion he was feeling from the drain on his magical energy. He had to admit that it was slightly irritating that he would feel physically tired from a lack of magical energy but it was a concept that was seen throughout the fantasy genre so it made sense that he would see it here as well. He was just trying to keep the exhaustion he was feeling hidden until after they finally brought down the Goblin King and he would deal with it after that.

Turning a small bend in the tunnel, the duo at last came to their destination as Remy stood facing a cavern that held what appeared to be about twenty goblins, and ten larger hobgoblins spread out across the room. Standing in the center of the room was the largest goblin there who he figured had to have been the Goblin King, but the most startling figures in the room were the two massive figures in the back, their size, and grey skin giving them away as cave trolls. He wasn't sure that the two of them could take on the entirety of this force alone.

The ghost force he had under his command would come in handy in helping to reduce the number of the goblin forces, but he wasn't sure how much longer he could keep them in this world with his drained magical energy pool. And there were too many of them for Fenrir to punch her way through, not to mention that the two cave trolls in the back would be the biggest obstacle that they would face in this fight as they were known for their impressive power and could kill a human simply by stepping on them. Taking a deep breath in and readied himself for the fight that was about to come, they had come this far so there was no turning back at this point.

Turning back, he looked at Fenrir and chuckled slightly "Well it looks like we finally reached the end, I wasn't expecting so many of the bastards and I definitely wasn't expecting the cave trolls but here we are" he said before turning back to look at the Goblin King. He narrowed his eyes as he stepped into the room determined to dethrone the so-called king at any cost.

Following him along the corridors, the beastfolk's ears twitched. The humble sounds of breathing could be heard from the destination they were headed to. The corridors didn't break off into other rooms, it just seemed that they were hoping whatever would come this way would struggle to make it there, and be overwhelmed by the travelling and the onslaught of goblins, but perhaps they didn't see what was coming? Perhaps they thought that the intruders would be stopped?

If they had enhanced senses they may have been able to differ things, but the scent of goblins hung heavy on her, the blood that clung to hair and skin was disgusting, and would make one absolutely vomit with no hesitation if they could smell just how powerful it was. But as the party of two walked and arrived at their destination she stood slightly to the left of Remy as she took in the same details that he had taken in.20 goblins, 10 hobgoblins, the king and two disfigured, ugly looking trolls in the back. But hearing his words, she was able to put the information together on what they were.

"As thanks for what you did, allow me to clear the way."

Fenrir spoke, her right hand lifting and pushing the other slightly aside as she stepped before him. By this point, the goblins were easy, it took no effort to kill them now. That large brawl allowed them to figure out the best ways to defeat them. If she had to compare it to something, it was akin to fighting a child. But before her, that wasn't what caused the slight shake in her body. The excitement she felt at just the sheer number of competition. Even if she was to destroy the goblins, the hobgoblins would have been right on top of her. They hadn't even moved yet, they assumed they had the advantage.

That was the mistake.

Fenrir took the moment to look around, the slight curls of lips that formed a smirk emphasised she was plotting something. She shifted her weight slightly. An arm extending as she pointed out the Goblin King. No doubt Remy wanted it, but there was no need for her to ask the next question, but she was going to ask it anyway. She didn't care for how evolution worked here. If she killed the king, would another evolve and take it's place? Was he simply a figure head that could lead, but had no strength? These were things that would come later. But for now...
"Want me to just take him out first?"

The flash of a smirk forming into a malicious grin as the beastfolk shifted her attention before her, hands moved across as arms formed an x before her leaning figure. Her legs spread slightly as knees bent, her fingers pointed outwards, so she could cleave through the goblins with her nails if she needed to. But it was evident from the time the two had spent that she was setting herself up. Named after the infamous child of Loki, the bringer of Ragnarok, she was planning to strike the 'King' where he sat as soon as the opening appeared before her. Her eyes were directly on him, the slightest motions of her irises as she waited for the moment.

Remy stood there at the entrance to the room, his eyes scanning it and the contents silently, looking for the best way to get to their target in the center. Fenrir might be in a better fighting shape from the impromptu healing that she had gotten from him, but he knew that it was at best nothing more than first aid since he wasn't very skilled in the use of his soul magic neither was, he a dedicated healer. He didn't know how much it had helped or how long it would be before she found herself back in the state before the treatment.

What worried him the most was what would come after they were able to bring down the Goblin King, would this horde dissipate once their leader was killed or would someone else rise and take its place, maybe one of the two trolls in the back? And if it did fall apart, wouldn't that put the nearby peaceful villages at risk of being attacked by the now wandering goblins? There were a lot of things to take into consideration before they just made their move.

His eyes turned to Fenrir as she spoke, made her preemptory movements, and readied herself to charge once more into the fray, ready to shoot off like an arrow toward the King the second he gave the signal. He didn't doubt that she would reach it either before any of the others could even react given the speed, she had shown in the fight thus far to get here but once she was there, she could get overwhelmed by the numbers. It wouldn't take much for the goblins to surround her and close off any route she might have to escape which could result in her death.

She was just a new player that he had just happened to come across, so he didn't feel any sort of attachment towards her or need to protect her. If she wished to rush off into the middle of the enemies and get herself killed, it didn't bother him in the slightest, however, if it turned into a big fight then he would need her so he could get back without dying. So, protecting her was just a matter of self-interest and the best interest of his self-preservation. He wasn't sure if he had the magical energy left to take on that many goblins alone, not to mention the trolls in the back.

He turned his attention back to Fenrir for a moment and said "If you see a clear way of getting to the King, take his head. I will focus my attention on the two trolls at the back of the room, one the King and the trolls are dead the goblins should be easy picking and in a panicked state after watching us kill the three strongest fighters in the room". With that, he took a deep breath and motioned for his remaining ghosts to target the trolls, and waited to see how the scene unfolded.
