The woodlands had surrounded them all since their arrival, but as Kyra glanced ahead, she felt like she could finally see a break in the trees, a sign that they were finally making a break into something beyond the woods. Or so she hoped, at least. Her map had proven almost as useless as it had been since their arrival, the fog covering almost all of it, and leaving no inkling of any sort of guidance towards real civilisation.
Sighing, she turned to the smaller girl who had been tagging along beside her. She'd learnt a little bit about the other individual, but truth be told, she still wasn't sure how they'd lost the rest of the group. One moment, they had all been there, the next...well, the next they were gone. "Well, I'll happily admit that I'm lost...but it looks like the trees are breaking up ahead, so maybe we'll get lucky and find some sort of sign of society, or a trader, or something other than the expanding woodlands around us?"
She gave a flick of the scythe that she held in her hand, the simple weapon picked up earlier in their travels. Although it was smaller than she was used to - barely the same length as her own arm - the piece felt right in her hands. The black shaft gave way to the purple curved blade at the top, with a longer black chain hanging from the base and ending in a dagger-like point that could be thrown outwards. She admired the piece for another moment, before smiling at the other again.
"Well, wherever we are, I don't think we're going to get anywhere by just standing around here and doing nothing - right?" She winked at the other girl, before turning her attention back to the road that they had stumbled across. She wasn't sure if it was the right decision, but this was just a game right? What could possibly go wrong...
