True to her word Valeria had been making sure to text Ronja as the day had gone on.

The first batch had been aerial pictures taken as the plane had submerged through the clouds, clear shots of Hawaii from a bird's eye view. They had soon been followed by a clip as Valeria had picked up her luggage, ending just as the trio of friends had come into view. The last one had been edited to keep a sleep deprived Ari out of the frame, recorded as they'd drove away from the car rental and towards their booked AirBnB.

The next batch had come along a little bit later. The pair of red and blue convertible mustangs shared one picture, followed by various images of their AirBnB's interior. There was even a clip shortly after the girls had entered the local supermarket, a humming Nico scouting the shelves on the booze aisle for what drinks would've been good picks for the adventure they were about to embark.

They'd been followed later by another set of pictures depicting all the food they'd made for their first dinner in Hawaii, a feast really but expected considering they'd all skipped lunch. The last one had been a picture as the others had gathered by the coffee table in the living room, a stack of UNO cards already in process of being shuffled, before she'd excused herself for a while.

It had all been fun and games—fueled by the various alcoholic options available to go around—until things suddenly took a sharp left turn into Sobering Town. Nico's sudden departure had certainly put an end to the Truth or Dare game they had moved onto after the cards, and it was only a while after that Valeria had realized a new video clip resided in her phone's gallery.

She'd been the first to go take a bath shortly after, glad that the spare bag of toiletries she'd left in the bathroom had contained a pair of pajamas she could change into since Nico had locked herself in their shared room after the dare. A while had been spent downstairs afterwards, making sure to properly hydrate before going to bed, until she'd heard the pinkorilla finally leave their room and go take a shower.

A long sigh left her lips as the blonde rested atop the queen bed provided, hazel eyes staring at the screen of her phone as she wondered how to go about it this time around. Overall she was certain Ronja would've enjoyed the evening games as much as they had been, and Val had felt pretty certain the brunette would've even found Ari's issued dare fun to personally spectate, but Nico's unexpected reaction had her second guessing those thoughts.

A silly question if she thought about it, the blonde figured Nico had probably called or messaged her girlfriend when she'd locked herself in their room. Although faint she could still feel a familiar pressure on her chest as the blonde mulled over her words, finally taking a deep breath before letting her fingers quietly tap away on the screen.

You probably heard about it by now... we decided to play Truth or Dare after UNO was done​

　

Maybe not the best idea in hindsight since we'd been drinking quite a bit ​

　

Nico dared Ari to chug a whole beer, but the caveat was that I had to hold it for him​

Not as bad as I expected, but not good either​

​

Part of her knew that she was stalling, or perhaps hoping that Ronja was actually asleep after all. There was no sin of the brunette typing in their chat so far, and after another deep breath Valeria continued.

It was my turn next, and I got dared to give Nico a strip-tease​

　

She'd been pretty gung-ho about me not pussying out when I chose dare, so I thought she was just being her usual brat self when she tried backing out​

Ronja's eyes opened as soon as she logged out from Terrasphere.

She had been diving in more and more every day, spending most of the time working on her own personal projects in the game. Through the day, she hadn't seen a single message since the morning, and as she was finally back to the real world, she reached for her phone after removing her VR device.

She scrolled through Nico's messages first, replying some of them and taking her moment to appreciate everything her girlfriend had to show her... And then, she moved to Val's chat, which made her eyes sparkle in excitement. Each picture that was shown felt like a dream, and Ronja could only try and imagine how the vacation was going... And how much her friends were enjoying it.

Between all of these messages, Ronja couldn't help but frown when the mood had suddenly shifted into something more serious and apologetic.

Curious, Ronja opened the video, and she was surprised to see the scene unfolding in the phone's screen. Part of her wanted to laugh, a lot, especially at the unexpected sight of Val doing a great job at strip teasing, enough to make Ronja a hint of jealousy of her own girlfriend-- But, soon the sight of Nico seeming to grow more and more distasteful of the situation snapped Ronja back to reality.

Taking a breath, she began typing...

Ronja waited for a moment, just waiting for the 'Val is typing...', or just letting it sink in for about ten seconds, whichever came closer, before finally adding-

I can't lie, it is weird to see my girlfriend getting a strip tease, and she didn't even invite me for it. What is up with it? Are you trying to steal Nico from me? ​

After trying to ease the tension, Ronja knew she couldn't just leave this at that. Not when she knew that Nico probably felt terrible about it. The fact she didn't tell Ronja anything about it spoke a lot about what she felt about it too, because Nico wasn't the type to tell anything to Ronja, especially if it was something that was troubling her.

Something that she had to talk about it with her at some point.

Jokes and silly questions aside.​

　

Nico didn't look comfortable with it at all. She didn't tell me anything about it, and I can see why. Some of her boundaries were broken there.​

She'd waited with baited breath as the minutes passed on one by one, the green dot by Ronja's name signaling that the brunette was currently active on the messaging app... though that didn't mean she was reading their chat yet. Eventually the blonde had locked the screen of her device, the phone still gently held on her hand as Val had turned over in the bed to bury her face against one of the pillows.

A muffled groan echoed as her insides ate themselves, her mind replaying the event over and over as she was left with time to stew her thoughts—!

The soft vibrations of the phone in her hand jolted the girl out of her head as she sat up, her fingers hesitating against the screen before finally swiping to unlock it. "O-Oh…" Part of her had known from the moment she’d been writing her texts that this was one possible outcome… but knowing certainly didn’t lessen the pain she felt upon reading the words on the screen.

Her fingers hovered over the keyboard on screen, unsure of how to reply, but before Val had the chance to type anything out a new message suddenly popped through.

It didn’t take long before the conversation began to flow easily between them once more, a relieved sigh soon replaced by soft chuckles as she responded to Ronja’s playful quips. Eventually their messages circled away from jokes and silliness, her head softly nodding in agreement to the points brought up by Ronja even if her friend couldn’t see it.

At first I just thought she was being her usual Nico self, but looking back at it now I can see she wasn’t happy about it at all.​

　

It’s her turn to shower now, so I’ll properly apologize to her a bit later​

Hopefully by the time the pinkorilla came into their room she’d be in a better mood… she’d heard first hand how much Fiora’s punches could hurt in-game, and Valeria wasn’t exactly keen on finding out how well IRL Nico could match with her elven counterpart. "We better set some ground rules before any future drinking games." Preferably while they were all sober too since the whole point of this trip was for everyone to have a good time, not make things more awkward than they’d been as of late.

Ronja held back a laughter at Val's initial response. She felt a bit bad, but at the same time, she couldn't let her off hook after what she had done, so for now, she decided to not apologize for it. At the same time, however, as she was the one who approached to apologize and talk about it, she knew she had done something wrong, and she acknowledged it, so Ronja didn't want to extend it too much.

Instead, she had a careful read of each of Val's messages, letting out a brief sigh and pondering if she should send a message to Nico herself. But at the moment, she decided against it. Unless Nico spoke to her about it, it was better to just let it be and not add fuel to the fire.

If I were to guess, you and probably everyone involved got too drunk. If you are lucky, maybe Nico won't even remember what happened.​

Ronja sighed for a moment, shaking her head slightly. For some reason, she felt like she was in a teenager american drama, where teenagers had nothing else to be worried about, so such little things haunted their minds for so long. Which was kind of cute.

But no! Ronja couldn't think of it as something cute, her girlfriend was hurt!

She couldn’t help the smile that pulled at her lips even as her friend scolded her through text, grateful for the game that had made meeting Ronja a possibility.

Her head nodded in agreement with each follow up text Ronja sent despite her friend being unable to see it, before she broke into laughter upon seeing the last of the brunette’s messages. "Man, really wish Ronja could’ve been here… she would’ve fit right in." A hand reached to wipe off a tear that had formed in the corner of her eye, a genuine smile on her lips as Valeria texted back.

Ronja watched as some of the replies were a bit dramatic, making her chuckle and shake her head, then frown at the idea, quickly typing up a response, one that was a bit flat and blunt, mostly as a joke.

Then, she considered the invitation with a wide smile, taking a moment to think about why exactly she wasn't there with them... Only to realize and remember that it was actually completely out of her control, since all these shenanigans were learned not too long ago.

I didn't even know you were in Hawaii, and even less that the two of you were friends. But now that I know, I will make sure we will all go through a trip together someday.​

Satisfied, Ronja quickly swapped her conversation with Val away, going for Nico's, just to make sure she had sent anything that her notifications didn't show up, and eventually tossing a couple messages, mostly cute and flirty ones so her girlfriend would have something to cheer her up, before returning to see the replies she would receive.

A faint smile tugged at the corners of her lips as she continued to text away with Ronja, her response eliciting an incredulous laugh from the girl before she typed a few replies.

She wasn’t a stranger to the internet and online friends, but never would Val have imagined that TerraSphere of all things would bring her so close to these newfound friends. Friends she deeply cherished, and friends she would risk her own skin and safety to protect…Iit was a feeling that had been missing from her life for a while now and, while it scared her, Val couldn’t help but embrace it fully.

I didn't even know you were in Hawaii, and even less that the two of you were friends. But now that I know, I will make sure we will all go through a trip together someday.

Her subconscious quickly picks up the shifting sound and closing doors from the hallway, and the jitters begin to settle in her stomach once more as she thinks of the upcoming conversation she has pending with a particular pinkorilla. "Better now than later." It wouldn’t do to let this simmer too long, the last thing she wanted was for anything to ruin their trip to Hawaii when it had only just begun, and she had promised to Ronja she would properly apologize too.

Even if it wasn't anything particularly embarrassing about dating Nico, it was the first time she spoke about it with someone, even if it was nothing big either. She could talk about someone she loved to someone else she cared for, and that made the girl's heart flutter.

With a smile, Ronja closed her phone, placing it next to her before wrapping her arms tight on her pillow, still flushing. She hoped everything would be well soon between @Luthien and Nico, but also, she couldn't help but eagerly wait for Nico's replies to her messages... So maybe it was fine if she waited a little longer before going for a dinner and logging back to Terrasphere for a sleep.
