In one moment, he was on a sleigh train, catching the barest glimpse of something emerging from the veil of a blizzard.

The next moment, he was falling, wind whistling past as he hurtled towards a sea of white. It was hard to tell what it was, but it was getting closer every second.

"Fuck-!"

No need for a chant this time. Ash's aura of panic was more than enough to call forth the spiritual assistance he needed. He felt the drain as the spirits swarmed, some around him, some around others, providing a bare moment's protection before impact.

He crashed through what he quickly learned was the forest canopy, smashing through leaves and branches until he finally hit soil. He was battered and bruised, but he'd avoided any serious injuries. He stood up and opened his palm menu, which told him he was in... Eastern Brisshal? How had he ended up here?

"Hello? Anyone else out there?"

...maybe someone would mistake him for a newbie, falling from the sky like that.

Wait, where was his hat...?

The elf had leaned back into her seat, allowing for the more enthusiastic amongst her peers to join in on the chorus of voices to echo Childress and Zeus' chants. Exhaustion still weighed down on her shoulders after the snowball fight's exertions, the true culprit behind her rather delayed reaction to the tear of the somewhat peaceful atmosphere into something far more threatening than any would've expected.

"Must... Record... It all..."

Committed to a mission that she couldn't see to its end, her vision consumed first in the blinding ray of light, her form whisked away by the foreign magic. At one point or another, her consciousness had also vanished as a product of Zeus' desperate tactic.

Next thing she knew, Rael was brought back to consciousness with the sound of several pages scattered about, the contents of her grimoire spilling out and her quill falling from the previously cold fingers which had held it together.

"Ouch..."

She brought a hand to her eyes, shielding them from nearby light sources before she opened them, chancing a look at her mysterious surroundings.

A great ray of light descended upon them. The intensity of the bright light was reminiscent of the death ray moments before it disintegrated her pathetic, mortal body. Sounds of merry laughter and festive spirits were erased by a deafening silence. Even thoughts became muted and indecipherable, instead replaced by a dull static that traveled through the body's synapses.

Bones vibrated as her physical body was dragged from its current dimension of existence. With a flick of the wrist, the universe unceremoniously brushed the female back into the material plane. Time moved painfully slow despite the displacement happening in a single blink of an eye.

She tumbled onto the ground, her mind a cacophony of hissing static. Blue eyes blinked at her surroundings: once, twice, thrice. Sensation slowly returned to her previously paralyzed muscles. Gradually, her mind returned to its proper placement.

"Okay, who spiked the eggnog?"

Despite the circumstances, her instincts forced her first question into a joke. According to her UI, she'd been transported to Eastern Brisshal. A relatively safe destination.

"So, are you guys also from the train? Was that supposed to happen or are we fucked?"

Also, she silently added, what was with Terrasphere and its fondness for blinding lights?

When you open your eyes, you find yourself surrounded by a regal composition of furniture and decor befitting of a high-esteemed person. That fact cleared up rather quickly, considering that you had found yourself sandwiched between an ornate desk and Queen D'vangelline herself.

She had been at her desk signing treatise in her nightgown when a complete stranger appeared in her lap, followed by the raining pages around the both of you. D'vangelline was so surprised that she let out a yelp, which alerted a guard, who stormed into the room with his weapon drawn.

"Are you okay, your majesty?" he shouted before noticing the bizarre set-up before him.

"Uhh?" he muttered, not knowing what to say.

"Stay your sword, Claus. Something is amiss here," D'vangelline gave him a reluctant smile. She had deemed that you weren't a danger, enough to cover for something that would no doubt had landed you in the royal dungeon.

"I hope you're not hurt, miss?" the blonde asked as she helped you off her lap.

"How in the world did you get here?" she asked as she turned toward the ceiling and the window.

Location: An Undisclosed Area in Eastern Brisshal (@Ash Vargold & @Aerial)

When you open your eyes, you find yourself lost amid a dense forest shrouded in snow. The marking on the trees indicated that you had the misfortune of spawning in the goblin hunting ground. These foes may not be the powerful, but they are fierce hunters, who employ every dirty tactic to murder their foes. Both of you are together, but without any more of you, you are outnumbered 2 to 20.

Tread lightly for you are only at the mercy of the frost lacing over the forestland and the goblin's unawareness.

This is a meta challenge where we will resolve the scene with a brief action summary and a die roll. You may work together to come up with any sort of plan in the next posts. The first thing we need to resolve the scene is to figure out if a goblin notices you, then your plan comes after (should you accept this spontaneous scene), based on the circumstantial set-up.

Both of you must roll a 1d4 with disadvantage (?r 1d4 disadvantage # Have you been spotted?). A 1 indicates that you have been noticed. Ping me in #rp-chat if you have any question.

Names didn't rise to her tongue, the blonde woman whom she appeared on top of a figure she ought to know by now, but one that she couldn't help but fail to match a name or title to. Luckily, the elf didn't have to struggle much to recall information that she didn't possess, a third person bursting in with their weapon drawn and pointing her way.

"Majesty..?" Rael, though she made no efforts to resist the Queen's assistance, didn't fully embrace it either. Dazed from the usage of foreign magics, she picked up the pieces laid out before her in slow intervals, turning her head this way and the other around the room, as if looking. Looking for...

"Zeus!" The pink-haired yelled as she sprung into motion, her eyes falling onto a rough sketch of the creature the sleigh train had seen on the horizon. Her hands held D'vangelline's arms, as if it would suffice to transfer whatever memory, whatever event the elf had witnessed but a handful of seconds ago. Her eyes betrayed her panic, her confusion, and the dread...

"I-I-I'm so sorry! We were delivering packages and found something... Terrifying - a creature, a massive one! And then there was a bright light and I..." The storyteller released the Queen and looked around to the scattered papers she had recorded their adventures on.

A million stray thoughts and questions fired off inside D'vangelline's bedtime mindscape as she studied the confused and panicking expression on the elf's face. She was plagued with thoughts such as how the high-born cabal had discovered a way to teleport cute assassins right onto her defenseless lap, or if the elf was merely a mirage summoned by her overworked subconscious, but why was it a pretty elf and female, what were the stars trying to tell her? Before she was led astray by these invasive thoughts, Zeus' name passed through Rael's lips and anchored the daydreaming Falderen Queen in reality once more.

"Claus. Leave us," D'vangelline dismissed her guard with a surprisingly firm voice, firm enough to shake loose all of the silly thoughts floating about his head as he struggled to make his formal salute and scrambled out of the room stammering, "a-at once, your majesty!"

Once the door was closed and the two were left to themselves, the blonde draped one arm across Rael's back and threaded the other underneath the elf's legs and scooped her into a princess carry before standing up, releasing the bunched-up fabric to cascade down her legs. Being one for function over form, it has been stressful to deal with more fabric than she knew what to do with, as indicated by how awkward her movement was in setting Rael down on the carpeted floor, but it was as the attendants say, a Queen in shorts that expose her legs was the highest form of impropriety – such was the way of chess, where every piece had to conform to the rule of the game.

"Wait. Slow down. I'm not sure I understand. You encountered a terrifying creature? Where was this and what happened with Zeus?" D'vangelline responded as worries docked on her face. It has felt like forever since she last had a run in with Zeus and the news of this happenstance didn't inspire the greatest amount of confidence in her.
