Dev Diary #4
Preamble.
Today's entry is about the much requested feature: property. The property system is meant to be one form of endgame, which is all about worldbuilding. You are absolutely not required to engage in this whole thing, but it’s a pretty good way to spend currencies when you have nothing else to throw your money on. Plus, everyone deserves a roof over their head.
How it works.
Let’s first explain how it all works. There are 4 types of properties with each one having their own level. Each property has a one time cost and no upkeep fee or taxes to those with The King's Own title.
Although you may own any number of property, each time you purchase a title (transportation), a deed (estate), a license (business), or a covenant (township), you must upgrade them individually.
Currently, properties cannot be sold, but transferring may be a possibility. Reflavoring properties are fine as well, there may or may not be a cost to do so in the future.
You may flavor your property as you please and put them in previously-explored areas of the world. Properties can be flavored with tags. There will be special tags especially made for properties, namely materials (oak, iron, mahogany, etc.) and quality (fine, excellent, magnanimous).

These items will appear in shops. When you purchase a title/deed/license/covenant it will automatically post in a forum or a thread for you. Tracking upgrades is still a WIP and we’re looking into alternatives to automating this entire system, stay tuned.
Landmark Properties.
There is a flavorful kind of property named landmarks. These are only being considered and may not be implemented. Landmarks are earned through special events, plots, or from winning contests. All landmarks have a built-in wiki page.
See a prototype here: Neremburne Castle.
